Mornin' boys.  Cloudy & 58 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Goodbye Summer.

Well, looks like local DNR bagged, tagged, and relocated Henry, according to one of the fishwraps around here.  Turned out to be a Henrietta after all.  Wifey sad.

rt - Nope, not mine...they look pretty darn good.

Thanks Banks for getting the Pot going this month.  Rainy good morning.  Waiting for the drywall finisher to come.  They say he will work through the weekend and holiday if needed.

6 to 2.  Yankees beat Red Sox.

Hope all have a great weekend and holiday.

Good morning, 56 heading to only 70. Way cool for here. LP tank is full and 1,000 gal to use on the contract paid for so in case Fife is right, we are ready.

Yesterday went well. Made it through the day.

A lot of neat stuff at the Central States Threshermen’s Reunion show grounds. So big you need a golf cart or Gator to get around the place. Nice thing about going to drop off something you can walk it without paying.  Smile, Wink & Grin Show runs through Monday. I may go back if grand son comes out this weekend. It is only 30 miles from us.

Kids were okay this afternoon but Grand son Jordan was himself,,push it to the limit.  Devil

The sitter they had got there on time and we got home about dark. Daughter and SIL went to the Bears game, got free tickets.

Colorado broke 1,400 miles yestrday.

Krogers for supplies today.

Afternoon all, TGIF, and happy Labor Day weekend! Last big weekend of summer. Marinas go to reduced hours after next week.

First day of retirement! Retiring as a remote employee, one simply gets "deleted" form the databases and your company email address disappears!

Very nice cool day here on The North Bluff.
Chicago Bears were sad last night. 0-25 beating. Guess the "some day maybe" "maybe not" had to much fun and Beer watching the beating at the game according to the daughter. Now she is Angry
Sounds like her and the kids are heading our way for some time out.

Hello there,

Been quite a week. As I was leaving PT Wednesday I got a call from Day Care. Mom had chest pains and they sent her to the hospital. Spent the day there. They found nothing but kept her for "observation". Today I managed to talk them into sending her to rehab to get some strength back. Hopefully Mrs & I can get caught up on rest while she's there.

Unusually cool here. Lit the gas fireplace a couple hours to get the chill out of the house

Get to lose my sling next week. This week they added some new excersises that really get my shoulder in an uproar.

Fife...........what's a fishwrap? Relocating Henrieta was probably saved her life. This time of year they get in to everything. They've moved a couple near daughters house.

After 2 years son has his truck project nearly complete. Its runs and drives but the wiring needs work.

Roy.......happy retirement

Photo of the Gilbert engine I got. One year only in '58

Off to bed soon

Prayers for those in need

Good evening all,

Busy day at work.  Lots of interesting conversations about some projects in progress.  This is turning out far more complex than I thought.   Games that I was supposed to referree tomorrow were postponed due to field conditions.   May go to Indy to check out some museum displays.  Got MR and Trains today.  Both look to be good issues.  Weather is wet and cool here.  AJ's cars are near the top 10 after practice today at the Glen.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Morning.  Cloudy and foggy.  Hope it burns away.  We had 1 3/4 inches of rain.  Not Harvey related.  Cold front from up north.  Other end of county had baseball size hail.  Cars, windows and roofs damaged.  Twister in other county.  Lots of water down east.

Not much happening today.

Fifey, Trains magazine has photo of Paw Paw in WV.

Dennis, Doug and Ray.  hope it is not too hot in your part of the "woods"  Saw San Francisco was hotter than Los Vegas.

Hope all have a great holiday.

September second, rainy and cold in Pennsylvania on a Labor Day weekend.

When I was a kid, I used to dread Labor Day, since it was the last day of summer vacation freedom before we had to go back to school.  Now that I'm finally retired, it's just like any other weekend for us.

Severe allergies kept me out of action yesterday, but I'm feeling somewhat better today, and I may do some work on the Marx layout.

Marx was doing some extremely interesting things in the late Fifties, and really breathing down Lionel's 027 neck in terms of quality.  I get a big kick out of running my 666 around the layout, watching it puff out billows of Mega-Steam Christmas Pine smoke as it hauls a string of colorful postwar plastic cars.

Evenin' boys.  Tropical depression "Harvey" swinging through the region, but folks are just goin' about there business.  Big street rod-event in town.

Chief - PawPaw used to be a convergence point for the old B&O, where the Low Line met the Magnolia Cut-Off.  I've actually have been trying to locate a small waterfall "Little Niagra", that is supposed to be just railroad west of there.  On the Maryland side, it's a bit more interesting with the C&O Canal's tunnel, and the old Western Maryland Railway bridge (which will be represented on the new layout).  Spring Gap, north of PawPaw, is a better place to watch trains, imho.

Very cool here but nice, what more could you ask for?

Wife and I had burgers from the grill and fries on the deck and just talked some. About as nice as one could ask for.

I gave the new truck a wash and that was about it for today.

Enjoy your holiday weekend and remember why we are having it. The workers of our country have earned a day off and the unions and others have seen to it they get one. Wink

Afternoon all !

I hope they are right about it starting to cool a bit next week. Today it hit 107* and the wind has been howling all afternoon, hope nobody does something stupid and cause a fire.

Friday went well at the museum although the DCS gremlins did make an appearence very late in the day. The last part of the day I used my Atlas U23B TMCC engine  to avoid some aggravation.

Should be hearing from radiology next week to schedule my CT biopsy so we can find oiut what the mass is and how to treat it.

Monday, Labor Day, will be a fun run at the museum for the Kid's Club. Will be taking in a mixed freight with a couple of CSX SD70's for power that the kiddos w/o a train can use.

Have a great weekend y'all.

Morning all. A nice cool morning here. Weather's been wacky lately. Sweaters one day and back to shorts the next. I guess that is the Fall for you. Love this time of year.

Went to the brother-in-law's yesterday to watch football/tailgate. I'm glad my Wolverines came through. I was a little worried early on.

We're going to another BBQ today. Fingers crossed with the weather.

Roy -Congrats on the retirement!

Hello there,

been a lazy weekend so far. Yesterday was cool and rainy. Kept the gas log lit most of the day. I had a couple of naps and went to a parade to see the grandaughter followed by a pleasant meal at a local eatery. Today was 7AM Mass and a trip to the flea market and more nap.

Got mom in a local home for rehab so we get a chance to rest. Not sure how long they will keep her.

No plans so far for a picnic for tomorrow. Maybe Mrs &I will have a hamburger and tater salad on our own if the kids don't show.

So far I'm high bidder on 50 pieces of O guage straghts on the bay.

Best move on.

Prayers for those in need.

Good evening all,

Roy, congratulations on retirement.  Enjoy!  I recommend it.

I've just been laying low with this heat wave for about a week.  Been over 105 for over a week now.  My son helped me fix a problem on the pool.  We installed a new water intake pipe that goes to near the bottom of the pool.  Now don't have to worry about low water causing filter sucking air.  I can still put my skimmer back on if needed.  The ideal situation would be to have two intake pipes. One for the skimmer and one for the filter. It used to be that way but got dumped when they redid  my pool years ago.  At least now, I can go away for a few days without worring about the pool.  Hope all are well.  We are'nt having any problem with ash/smoke from the fire yet.  Hope they get it out soon.

Had a great day with beautiful weather. Spent the day on the water and with friends.

Ray - thanks and glad you came up with a fix for the pool!

Mike C - sorry about your fender bender. Hope the damage is minimal to fix.

Banks - hope the rehab helps your mother. Enjoy the break as best you can.

Robmcc - thanks! 3 days in - so far so good!

Morning all.  Sunny and 84.  Drywall folks puttingon another coat of mud.  Subs seem to be dragging it out.

Took Wifey on a road trip to a town 20 miles away [around 3 PM yesterday].  first time I have driven on Sunday after meds on Saturday.  Did good.  Did get tired but a break at Cracker Barrel helped.  Yes Wink

Rob, did not get where you are living.  Must be a YANKEE by putting on a sweater.

That brings up a subject.  Guy on rifle forum takes all comments about CA serious.  Told him he would have a problem here as we joke on the CA guys all the time.  All in jest.  We do the Yankee and Southern thing on there and everyone picks back and forth.  Oh well.

Have a good and safe holiday.

Chief......I remember while visiting Beaufort one August bout 30 years ago. We got up one morning and were relieved it was only 78 degrees. Coolest since we'd been there. The locals were wearing jackets and complaining of the cold.

HHave a good Holiday

Good Morning,

Took a ride with Jim back to Pontiac to pick up his tractor. A lot of guys loading out. Was a good show this year and the weather was perfect.

Very nice here 79 heading to 87 later then the bottom falls out for the rest of the week, The Shag-bark hickory are turning already. Winter is on the way. Sad

Winter is on the way. Sad

Hello there.

Lots of signs of that here too. The high Saturday was 54 with a cool rain most of the day. All but a couple pairs of Barn Swallows left this week. Bet the rest will only be here a few days as they usually arrive a week or so before Memorial Day and leave around Labor Day.

Somebody wanted the O Guage track I was after as I got outbid. I only bid cause it was in really nice condition and it was cheap . Can any of you guys tell me what O track is worth ?

I'm planning on  having a loop for Prewar O on my layout when it's done.

No word from either kid so Mrs &I had burgers, tater salad and corn on the cob on our own.

Best move on. Mrs wants to make some no sugar peach jam.

Prayers for those in need

Good evening, Nice day today. Started out hot but a cool front came through about 1:00PM and it got real nice. Strange thing is we have had sweet light for about the last two hours. Sweet light is the light where things tint to a mellow yellow tint about the last fifteen minutes and first fifteen minutes of day light. ????  Huh?
We did rib-eyes on the grill tonight. Good stuff. Dinner
Going to start mounting the plow mount on the Ranger tomorrow seeing it will be cool. Yes
Banks, your right, the corn is already firing up here and the beans are starting to turn. Humming birds are on the move south as well as the Robins. Surprise
Have a good night and I hope you all had a nice holiday. Wink
