Hot here still. 74 heading to 90s. tomorrow not so much.
Got a call from my cousin David yesterday. I have not heard from him since the 90s. He wants to come out Thursday to visit. That will be nice.
No plans for today.
90 today then fall temps arrive.
I got contamination warnings from this site yesterday. Someone has a virus.

Good morning gang!
Overcast and some breeze this am. Low 90's today. Bring the front! Ragweed very high, ugh.
Robmcc - prayers for your family - that's too young...
Regards, Roy
Morning all!
It's been a busy few days for me. I starting my week vacation with a bittersweet tone. The good was a boys road trip to Indiana to see Michigan at Purdue over the weekend. Definitely the hottest football game I ever watched! The bad was my sister in law passed away suddenly. She was only 25. :( FYI, it was due to a massive seizure. So, the rest of my week will be helping my wife and her family prepare for the funeral.
Mike C. - I did the same with Young Sheldon. The commerical showing him playing with his Lionel trains hooked me in for the beginning, but I'll likely pass on the show. Congrats as well!
Have a good day and prayers to those in need.
Rob
Morning. Cloudy and hot. Lucky, only clouds from Maria.
Not much on agenda. Tile folks are here. Finally. Will not finish until Monday.
Have a good one.

Watching Cboy's vs redbirds...looking better but penalties are an issue...
Dougnotta - prayers - your good attitude makes a positive difference!
Good evening all,
Quiet day at work. Warm, not as humid. Got latest CTT today. Good issue. Watched "Young Sheldon". Opening sequence featured Lionel trains. Rest of show was forgettable. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Morning All.
Finally back up and running, computer was ka-put for awhile. Was repairing it myself but ran into some issues that were beyond my tech skills. Fry's did a good job at an extremely reasonable price.
Visit with the oncologist went well, very up-front with no BS. Will be taking a pretty strong drug whether I have surgery or not. The only difference will be when I start the drug regimen.
Friday I go in for a PET Scan which will determine whether or not I have the surgery. If I do it will be about a weeks stay in ICU and possibly another week after that in the hospital.
But the real kicker is the $ for the cancer drug. Almost had a coronary when they told me the price. After all coverages are applied my copay will be about $2800 per month +/- a couple of bucks. But at that rate it won't take long to fall into the "catastrophic category" and the co-pay will drop tremendously.
Later all,

Sunny and low 90's today. Cool front hits Wed and temps in low 80'sfor the weekend. State Fair of Texas starts Friday so nice weekend on tap for that.
Mike C - Congrats! Prayers
Kev - that survey is so they can find and move ya!
Fife - agree...
Good morning,
Another one in the oven today. Hit 97 on Saturday and 94 yesterday. 70 now and will hit 90 again today. Cooling into high 60s by end of the week. Burnt a load of leaves and nuts yesterday.
Went ahead and ordered the brake controller yesterday for the Colorado.
Chief, I am thinking about it but you can't just do it on your own property without a new survey showing where you are pluggged into the dirt. Ashes you can thow anyplace.
Mornin' boys. Sunny & 65 (going to 90) in the Potomac Highlands.
I kept saying,"Don't do it - don't do it - don't do it..."
Now my Sunday afternoons will be spent seeking other pursuits (perhaps rail related).
And with the money I'll save not purchasing Pepsi/Gatorade, Buschhhhh, McDonald's, Under Armor, Verizon, and not needing to ship by FedEx, nor Banking at M&T, I'll have more funds to spend on Lionel Postwar.
cheapclassics - Congrats on the new grandbaby. I think Soccer would be an excellent American sport.
Quiet day. Wife and I went to see "IT". Did a pretty good job. Not terribly scary. Found out Lucas and wife are having a baby. Those who have been here a while will recall he had testicular cancer and the chances of being a dad were slim to none. Just hope all goes well. Weather still hot. I hope everyone has a good day.
Evening all!
A nasty one at 91 today, but very humid. Ugh. A bit of a breeze this evening so not at bad. Played fetch with daughters dog which is visiting while daughter went to ride horses. Both kids will join us for dinner tonight.
NASCAR was ok today, but overall pretty boring. It is good I guess that Toyota figured out their engine failure woes from a couple of years ago, but this year Toyota and a couple of drivers have dominated most of the races. Some stats presented for the year (I think) show Toyotas dominating laps led this season by a HUGE margin over Chevy and Ford. Time for some changes.
We have a family plot in Houston but we plan to be cremated. I may ask for some of my ashes to be intered in the family plot, but the wife is from Dallas and will not let any of her ashes end up in Houston (unless I outlive her ).
Kev - a coworker and I were staying at the Omni in Atlanta back in '96 or so. We were in the process of checking out and before all the ATM machines existed everywhere. We still had places to go and realized we need some cash. Recall a hotel would let you cash a check. We asked if they would cash a check and the answer was yes. So my buddy said he wanted to do that just as they handed him his receipt for his stay. So he started to write a check and they said they only cash checks for "guests" - we just looked at each other. Really? So I had not checked out so I cashed a check for both us before I got my receipt.
KEV, be burried on your Ponderosa. What Pam's Daddy requested and they did it. Burried in the yard [well, up the hill some] where he was born and lived most of his life. He was gone when he was in the AF during Korea. Then worked for NASA with sometime in Hampton VA and Houston TX. That was about 10 years. Rest of the time right there on the farm. Worked in Raleigh most of his life.
Another hot one today in the 90s and by the end of the week the heat will be on.
Been on this thing to get burial plots for the wife and I. Just thought it would be one less thing for someone else to deal with. Finding out a lot. So I lived in a town for 56 years and now that I don't it will cost $2,000 each for a plots that would cost $250 if we still lived there. Is that nuts? This is where all my relatives are and where I would like to be. Have any of you ran into something like this?
The good thing is I know the sexton of the cemeteary and he said I can have my sister buy them for us because she still lives in town. So I called her and she wants to get hers as well so sometime soon we will get that over with. We need to sit down with the sexton and go over the options first.
Anyways best be going.
Morning all. Not much planned for today. 78* going to 87* today. No real train news here. Hope all have a good day

Morning. Sunny and hot. Having to water. Dry after outside of addition was was completed.
Wifey gone to Home Show [a biggie] as Master Gardener. Will answer gardening questions. This is good for her after this week's "event".

cheapclassics Good evening all, Bad soccer day as everybody lost (2 grandkids' teams and both high school teams). Mike C. from Indiana
Bad soccer day as everybody lost (2 grandkids' teams and both high school teams).
UN-AMERICAN
Have a good week ahead.
Bad soccer day as everybody lost (2 grandkids' teams and both high school teams). Weather awfully hot. Debating on mowing tomorrow. Did go to a nice exhibit by the local historical group. Wonderful speakers and music. Very nice displays. That part was a great day. I hope everyone has a good day.
A pleasant day today at 91.
Spent the day watching college football and then we went to a local burger/beer joint for dinner. My alma mater TAMU beat Arkansas in OT. Sweet!
NASCAR Xfinity tonight, Cup tomorrow. Cowboys play on MNF so I will have TV control for the race!
Morning. Hot and dry. Going to have to water. Got errands to run. Then clean house some to help Wifey. Most of the dusty stuff done on addition. Still slow progress.
Funeral done and that is settling OK.
Morning,
Grass has stopped growing due to heat and dry here.
Hot today and will stay hot till Wednesday. Then falling from 90s to 70s where it should be this time of year.
Cooking brunch and then just screwing off the rest of the day. Wife is stuck watching old black and white Gunsmoke shows all day.
Good day at work. Upper upper management approved my plan for a project today. Pleasantly surprised at that development. I am always amazed when someone listens to me as it does not happen too often. Jim, glad to hear an exchange student being helpful....reminds me of when my Norwegian soccer friend was here....... Quiet night at home. Awfully hot today. I hope everyone has a good day.
Evening all.
Jim I have been to spain many times. Beautiful Country. I loved Barcelona and Torremolinos. I'm sure a lot has changed since the last time I have been there ( about 1991 )
Good Evening from beautiful clear 71°F Southern Ohio,
I cut grass and collected more dead falls most of the day. I'm reclaiming more yard with each mowing. I think I'm making progress. I took the mower over parts of the yard that I've not cut before. Our leaves are starting to fall now too. I want to be able to access all of the front and be able to chop up as many leaves as possible. The front is about 3 acres with 20+ trees. The back is another 3 acres of wooded hillside.
My bride and I went to the kid's homecoming pep rally. It was a blast! The four upper grades danced to songs from the 70's 80's 90's and 2000. The twins are freshmen and their dance skit was from Grease. All the kids had a fun time. There were hot dogs and hamburgers and a bonfire that is still going on and there is a dance and we can hear the music from our front porch.
Mike – the exchange student we're hosting is from Spain and plays soccer. He has been quite an asset to the team, as he plays a different style of soccer. As he says, less physical and more skill based.
Kev, the motorcycle turned out great
Good night and may God bless
Jim
To hit 91 today, so a bit cooler.
No leaves here, but when they drop, the city park that is west and at the end of my street provides a billion leaves for my yard since my house is the end of the circle.
Dennis - bummer re the pilot light.
Fife - what is the colorful display off the top of the hopper?
Kev - bet the squirrels are happy!
TGIF!
High of 88 today and tomorrow.
No leaves falling in our neighborhood but a few trees are showing some change into fall. No burning here in the city, they have to be raked up and bagged for collection. I do miss the fall smell of burning leaves though. I have no trees so the neighbors provide me with leaves when the wind blows but I just chop em up with the lawnmower.
Good morning from a hot and humid North Bluff.
Fife, same here with the leaves. Already burning them to.
Not much else today. Another hot one in the 90s.
The Hickory and Elm are at it already.
Anyone need some acorns????
