Mornin' boys.  Rain and 42 in the Potomac Highlands.  Ready to go.  However, I will be missing out on National Pancake Day...

dbaker - Great story about flamingos (plural).  I have thought about your spill off the steamer.  Everything tends to be slick at the yard, and probably why public tours aren't offered.  Just like on the yatchett, one hand for thyself...

88 - Hope to see you before then.

Roy - Send those 80's east, please.

rt - I check for your ebay listings all the time.

Chief - Our agency had its own SRO issues...

sirjames - How did the long train go?

Buckeye - Hope you are feeling better soon.

SPMan - Thoughts are with you, sir.

morning all

Fife sent you email to ensure you have correct ones. By the way what track system do you use.

Not a lot going on here. Trying to get ahold of the V.A. hospital for a bill they need to take care of.

Cut grass last night. The cover over the muffler came off and I didn't see it until I heard it getting eaten up by mower Angry oh well don't really need it. it's a safty thing so you don't get burnt. I know not to put my hand or anything down there.

Morning all!

Huge storm at 4:30 am, wind and pounding rain - woke me up as rain was hitting bedroom patio door. Dry front so when I got up streets and sidwalks dry like it did not rain at all. Headed east. 50's right now headed to high 60's/low 70's?

Chief - i just thought that was a video of the Rosyville public transit system.

Don - sounds like he was pretty unhappy about the diodes - can't blame him.

Ray - continued prayers for you and the family Angel

RT - parts falling off the mower - sounds like it was made in the same place as my scooter?

Talking about the scooter - ordered a new master cylinder/brake handle/brake light assembly - $19 inc shipping. Looks like it is coming from same place in central China. 2 weeks. For $31 I could expedite the shipping down to 1 week. Nope. I'm willing to wait since there is no telling if the part will match the pics on Amazon and will fit. But it is the only one I found of the dozens out there that is the same hydraulic hose arranegment as the one I have. Some warmer weather this week - so might get to cleaning the scooter - prep it for sale or donation.

Regards, Roy

G'day all !

Warmed up a little bit , it's up to 41*. They are guessing that it will be in the upper 70's and low 80's for a few days with all sun, hope they ain't wrong.

Chief, Wonder if that hamster was named Cornelius or Commodore ? Clown

Got two garbage can loads of weeds pulled, after all this rain it looks like I got maybe ten more to go. In all my years here in SoCal I have never seen a crop of weeds like we have this year. It may be one heck of a fire season this year.

Ray, Continued prayers for you my friend, we are all here to help if you need us. The sorrow will lessen as it is replaced by cherished memories of happier times together.

Later all.

Have a wonderful day !

Good morning,

 Been busy,

Wife is pushing me hard to get one of these.

 http://www.kubota.com/product/UtilityVehicles/RTVX1100.aspx

They have 5 of them right down the road. Nice and diesel to.

She likes the heat and AC and the snow plow option.

I just can't see 22K but they don't seem to loose much value and if it last as long as the Gator has I will be 77 years old when it is 12 and a half years old. And she made the point,,you can't take it with you.

I don't know???

So in the meantime I got new tires for the old Gator so maybe that will be good enough for now.

Ray, Prayers for you over these next hard days.

Whoa boys, am I tired.  Haven't worked this hard since the move.  Haven't worked this hard for pay, since my younger days.  First official duty was as hostler for GP30 501.  Then spent the rest of the day grinding on 1309's innerds.  Didn't think I'd be in it that quick, but there I was (and yes, definitely watched my footing Don).  Kind of like finding out what happens when the dog catches the car...  'down home' crew of guys in the shop.  Before I knew it, boss was tapping me on the shoulder to roll on out for the day.

rt - Gonna give Industrial Rail by Atlas a try.

Fife,

A couple of thoughts that I think may be worth sharing.....

- IF you are requested to wear plaid shirts, MAKE SURE you get flannel!  (Polyester will melt in the cab.)

- Speaking of temperature it is typically 25-30 degrees above ambient.

- Also pick up some Soy Sauce "packets" put them in your lunch bucket or whatever.  WHEN you touch something hot, and get burned, put the Soy Sauce on the burn.  It will stop the burning, and prevent scaring.  (It doesn't smell bad either, just be cautious of cats though.)  Seriously the Soy Sauce works great!

And finally, just remember your not doing all that hard work for the money!  Its for the experience!

Nothing much here to report on, worked at Dr Marks today, installed the Diode Mod, on 13 switches.  And I had forgotten how much I enjoy driving the El Camino, especially when it is running well.

Voted this evening, the ballot had ONE ITEM !  THAT WAS THE TOTAL BALLOT!!  And it was whether or not to add 1/4% to the sales tax to benefit the "homeless".  In my opinion it is an indication of poor budget planning.

Hope everyone has a great day, and be Safe!!

Good evening all,

Good day at work.  Did a short walk today as it was brisk outside.  Went thru 3 boxes of "stuff" in the barn tonight.  Got rid of most of it.  Just have to start doing this.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Dennis,

You are being very proactive and taking the appropriate action in getting things checked out. One's health can be very good and still have an issue with a blockage, better to catch it as a partial blockage than to put it off til something much worse happens. It ain't a lot of fun to ride in the back of the meat wagon, nor is it inexpensive.

Listen to what the doc's say and be prepared to make some dietary and lifestyle changes. Thumbs Up

Morning all!

Today is a repeat of yesterday. Sunny, cool, crisp, slow warm up to 70's.

Dennis - hang in there! Prayers Angel

Prayers for Ray Angel

Mike C - I also cleaned out some boxes, consolidated, and eliminated yesterday. It feels good to "slim down".

Fife - glad it was fun. I am too old for that, but not too old to drink beer and watch you work!

Good morning,

It's sunny and a bit warm today. Should go up to 82 today.

Been feeling a little sick lately, no fever, mainly stomach problems. Have been going to the doctor a couple times a week so far, so I am trying to get over what ever is ailing me.

Dennis, Chief - good news!

Was nice enough to drag the scooter off the porch this afternoon and scrubbed 2 yrs of dust/dirt off of it. Once dry I will start reinstalling the cowlings, fairings, and air intake/filter assembly.

Lee - feel better soon!

Good evening all,

Upgrade at work went very smoothly.  Quiet day most of the rest of the day.  Pain one was gone, but pain two still made a nuisance of herself.  Fortunately today I was able to deflect most of her barbs.  Walk today was brisk and windy.  Did nothing tonight at home.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good evening all, we said our final good byes to Helen today and put her down at the cemetery.  We had a nice reception and had some left over food which some of us took home.  Everyone has been very supportive of me and I am so grateful.  It was very warm at the cemetery today with temps about 88.  Felt like summer.  Was glad to get out of my dress clothes later.

V8, sorry to hear that you are having health issues.  Good that you are taking care of it and getting ahead of any problem.  Will send prayers for you.  I am going back to my dermatologist again tomorrow and see what the next move is on my itch problem.  I'm really getting tired of it.  I have done everything the doctor has ordered

I had a nice talk at the reception today with a friend I made while Helen was in the memory care facility.  His wife is still there.  We have agreed to have dinner together once in a while.  He is really a terrific human being and great care giver.  He is so devoted to his wife even though he can't reverse her dementia.  He does what he can to make her life better.  Puts in many hours over there.  He helped me a lot when Helen was there.

I have a nephew in Jacksonville,N.C. who just got his Captains License to operate fishing boats.  He has been working hard to pass the exam for quite a while.  Kudos to him.  He keeps sending pictures of all the nice speckeled trout they have been catching down there.  Looks like good eating.

I have a BIL who is living on the outer banks of N.C. now since his wife, my sister passed a while back.  He is staying with a son down there.  Hope I can pay them a visit when I get able to travel.  I would love to be in a place like that right now.

Looks like the current administration has shot down funding for the California Bullet Train.  That's OK with me.  It's a real loser.

Talk to you later,

Ray

Morning all. May do some yard work today. Wife been after me to cut the grass again. Bang Head just did it about a week ago. It's only weeds anyway. Trying to figure should I put out grass seed and see if it takes or do weed killer first. Think I have heard grass seed first and let it get established then weed killer.

About 57* at present going up to 76* Smile

Talk to you all later, need to get moving.

Good morning,
Wheel bearings show out for delivery today so the gator will be back in service. Yes

Taking Sandra out for lunch for her birthday today.

Got my replacement Alaska Boxcar from Menards yesterday so the Alaska train is done and fine.

I have to replace the battery in the  Husqvarna mower but that can wait a day or two till I service it for the season. I went to use it yesterday to haul the stump grinder out to a stump and the battery was dead. Bang Head The battery is 6 years old.

Ray glad it all went as well as those things can. We are thinking of you in our prayers.

Fife if your going to charge My 2 Cents then you better supply the chairs and Beer to. Laugh

That wind was something else, Sir James! I was on the highway for a couple of hours in the afternoon and it felt like I was flying through turbulence!! The trucks were swerving. I was almost blown over into the other lane a few times. Needless to say the vans MPG sucked!!

Evening all!

Cloudy today but nice, warm. Possible rain this weekend.

Got the scooter back together and I have a taker for it, and possibly before the new master cylinder comes in (would pick up later when it shows up). Rear brake is cable and it works fine, it is just the front disk is hydraulic.

Ray - prayers - hopefully the itching is due to stress and will subside with time.

Fife - thanks for the umbrella, have to avoid the sun at my age! With all the others here interested maybe we need a cabana! And of course a "cabana girl"!

Yes driving was dangerous. My wife had to go out and when she got home said that's it for today. Besides many traffic lights out debris was flying everywhere..

Good evening all,

I think I need to rethink the movie going.  We went to see Logan tonight.  Absolutely lousy movie.  Do not recommend at all.   No upside to this one, period.  Weather was nice for walk today.  Turned ugly tonight.  May stay home tomorrow.  Good news is that real racing starts this weekend at St. Petersburg!  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana
