TGIF Guys!!

Been a while, busy, busy, busy....

Working 2 jobs to support the house and my not much of a life style, nice thing is I work at the same place full and part time.  Just tired at the end of the day.  And no, I have NOT moved in yet, the Princess and her consort are living there, I'll be moving in bit by bit, now that I have (FINALLY!) my queen size storage bed and my chest of drawers.  Next the clothes then the TV....

Not much on the train front, just took delivery of the limited edition Holly Beach tank and gondola cars, paied way too much, but......

Edison Train Show this weekend, hope to meet up with the Jersey Boys...

Fife, if you're near Cumberland, MD, you WILL be seeing me, as I passed through that area on the bike during the 9-11 run, it is absolutely beautiful.... I may have to take the roadrunner as the GF is not much on the bike.

Brent - Have a great Birthday!!

Gotta get back to job #1....

Hello there,

back from frying fish. Only 650 some tonight. Should put the average around 720.

Happy Birthday to 88

Relaxing with a glass of wine and nursing a sore sholder.

Cardio doc decided it's been 3 years, time for a new stress test. I'm bound to fail but he wants to make sure it's not worse. That's Monday at 830.

Fife. ...is your railroad position full time? Do you know anything about the train show in Cumberland? I picked up a flyer at the Altoona show . I know it's been around for years but it being on Saturday for one or another reason I never made it.

Forgot to mention last post picked up a KTM 65 Minicycle for the grandson to run at the Dirt Drags this summer. It needs some attention but the price was right.

Lots on the to do list this weekend. We shall see. Best head to bed.

Prayers for those in need.

Good evening all,

At least all the Indiana teams won their first game in the NCAA, which was very rare.  Quiet day at work.  Pain two was gone all day and pain one left in the afternoon.  Watched Grimm tonight.  Cold, wet miserable day so walk was not much fun. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' boys.  Damp and 37 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Today is the WMSRR's first trip up to Frostburg, since the landslide occured.  I was a last minute scratch.  Taking youngest princess out for brunch instead.  Then up to folks' house as my sister and nephew are in town.  It's all good.  Been told I start conductor training this Friday, so we'll see how that goes.

Finished watching Hell on Wheels (AMC).  I give it 5 stars on Netflix.

88 - Happy Birthday.

anjdevil - Anytime you're in town (Cumberland), let me know.BeerBeer

Banks - Yep, that's the one-and-only show in these parts.  Hopefully I can get off that Saturday to attend.  This is only a part-time gig, but there's gonna be some mad hours coming through July.  I'd like to keep things in the 20-30 hr range.

Evening All,

Finished the rework on the shelving in the train room.  Everything SEEMS rock solid, even got the shelf lighting done.  Started this afternoon inspecting and cleaning to put stuff back.  I am so SURPRISED as to so little damage so far.  NONE of my motorized units have ANY damage, so far all that I've seen is the Bicentenial GP70, but is is minor.  The MPC stuff appears to bear the brunt of it so far.

Weather been great here, finished my dental project for awhile, and even met with the attorney re: my worker comp issue.  (Not expecting a lot based upon the Calif Laws).

Chris leaving Monday for a 2 week job at Ft. Riley (Kansas).

Fife, sounds like your having fun!  Great.  You sure are progressing up the ranks fast!  Conductor already!!!!

Till later, stay safe & healthy!

Good morning all, it's onlly 12:25AM but I guess you could call it morning.  Had a good visit with my younger son who came over today and did some housework for me.  Then we went by the cemetery so he could leave some flowers and we had lunch in Glendora.  We had corned beef sandwiches on rye with fries and cole slaw.  It was good.  I cooked ham and cabbage the day before St. Paddy's day cause corned beef is too much trouble for just one.  Had some more of that today.  Went to a soup supper for lent following a service on St. Patricks Day.  The local arch bishop gave permission to eat corned beef on Friday because of St. Patricks Day but I skipped it anyway and had mine the day before and after.  No big thing.  Hope all you guys in the East are coping with the snow and staying safe.  Don, I think my oldest and his family went out to see the poppys today.  That rain we had must have really brought them out this year.  Just being lazy today.  Will do more tomorrow maybe.

dbaker - I'm just in the right place, at the right time, apparently with the right mindset.

Roy - Like I said, it's all hands on deck thru July.  After almost 2 years of dormancy, it feels good.  Some horses just aren't cut out for pasture.

Afternoon all. Not a good day, Lost one of my cats last night. No matter how you know its about to happen it's still hard when they have been part of your family so long. Bear Buddy as I called him ( wife named him bare as his coat looked like that of a bear) was about 14 years old. He will always be fond in my heart.

Sorry about the cat RT, The day is always on the way to loose one. Never easy.
Been a wild 24 hours with a house full with two of the grand-kids. Tons of fun and lots of train running and Gator rides and other outdoor stuff.  Now it is 53 with full sun feels good if you stay out of the wind. I will take it.

Kids are gone now but we finished up the platform for the north end reverse loop with a little help from my friend and helper Jordan, but not much. Jordan loves tools like all 3 year old boys. Smile, Wink & Grin

The tracking device worked well but for the south loop I am going tie the track to the wood and connect the sections with track clips, first before I trace the lines. Still it is good enough and will work fine. Just a train layout, not a space ship.

About it for today.

Good evening all,

RT, sorry to hear of your loss.  One does get attached to the pets.  I did 8 miles in 1:55:54.  Would have done more, but got a late start.  Had a good rhythm going though.  Watched Liverpool and Man City play to a 1-1 tie.   I hope everyone has a good day.

RT sorry about your kitty.

Mon. 75 Tue. 69 Wed. 66 and rain Tue. and Wed.

I have been having trouble with eBay lately, it works fine for a little bit, then I click on something and I get a little connecting at the bottum left on my screen but nothing happens. If I am patent enough a screen comes on saying eBay took too long to respond.

I usually go to another site for a little while and go back to eBay maybe several times till I get done with what I want.

Do any of you have this trouble?

When that happens to me I hit the X in the bar where you type Ebay.com and then hit refresh or do it all over again. that seems to help

Late evenin' fellas

Thanks for the b-day wishes. Spent the day with TheQ doing some shopping for my b-day presents (just got some new shirts that I've been in need of), then when Christina got off the bus we went and got Matthew from pre-school and out to Mission BBQ for dinner. I kind of over did it, but haven't had BBQ in a long while, so it was worth it. Saturday TheQ took my FiL and the family to Hagerstown for dinner at a German Restaurant we really like. Today took Matthew to his first birthday party for a girl in his class. Had a good time, met some nice folks, came home layed down on the couch and fell asleep.

RT - sorry to hear about the kitty

Fife - you covered in 1309 boogers doesn't sound so nice... I'm thinking Wifey did the right thing having you clean up in the garage first.

Chief - I think a friend of mine's husband was involved in that fire fight.

Morning all.  48 degrees and climbing fast after a chilly start.  Had scattered frost.  Spring is sprung so they say.  Busy afternoon and night.

Notice that Kev's center of attention is on the Grandkids.  Great.

Also, Brent puts his two out front.  Always said those kids are the luckiest kids in the world.  Got two great parents.

Hope all have a great week ahead.

There are only little for a short time Chief. Yes
Seems hard to believe that 29 years ago, today our Daughter Katie was born.
Had a good soaking overnight and sending it to points south and east. Lots of thunder and lighting.
Looks like I will have to special order the black FRP panel I will cut into strips for the elevated platform edging. Stuff is pricey at $48.00 a sheet and I will only need about half of one at best. Tongue Tied
Can't stand to turn on the TV anymore. Drama everyday. Glad I don't do Twitter.

Chief - you humble me sir! TheQ and I look at our situation as 'we are the luckiest parents, we have two great and healthy kids'. Smile

Kev - that is a cool device! I could have used something like that when I was cutting the base for my layout! You could charge for that! Wink

Just found out that we've been put on lockdown for vacations from 4/1 - 5/31. They will not be approving any non-emergency PTO during April or May. Sigh Which sucks because the kids are off 4/14 - 4/21, that means I'll have 2 kids here by myself during business hours for a whole week!

Evenin' boys.  Partly sunny and 56 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Was the procurement doodle today.  I try to stir up interest in the RR when I'm out and about.  Told the lady at Lowe's that she can tell all her family that she personally mixed the paint for the 1309's cab interior.  A little civic pride never hurts.  Oh, it's Vegas Green btw.

Banks- not sure, maybe a little under 2 hours.

Good evening from wet Southern Ohio,

I’ve been busy and just not posting in the Pot.  Last two weeks I was working 12 hour nights and we were busy at work and what little time I was at home I was sleeping or eating.

I can’t remember if I posted it or not but I bought 4 straight All Aboard panels off Doug Peck at Portlines.  The track needs a little attention and a general scrubbing but electrically they are fine.  The elusive crossover still evades me.

The grandkids are such a blessing to my bride and I.  We’ve had them for 8 years now, and have not regretted a moment of it.  They have opened avenues into a new group of friends and experiences that we would not have been part of otherwise.

We are averaging 5 eggs a day now out of the 6 hens.  Not exactly paying for their keep, but the fun factor makes keeping them worthwhile.  The kids are going to be getting their 4-H critters soon, meat pen rabbits meat chickens and a couple “show” rabbits.  The cages are ready and we’re going to use an old dog kennel for the meat chickens as I want to keep the chickens apart.

Kev- Check to see if any of the FRP board in stock is damaged.  I buy a bunch of damaged sheet material at Lowes, usually at half price.

Fife – It sounds like you are having fun with your job!

May God bless

Jim

Afternoon/evening all!

Hit 93 for the first day of Spring! Why it hasn't been this hot on this date in N Tx since ...................... 2006.... Laugh

Kev - glad the platform tracing device worked well!

Phish - I completely agree you do not want the egg-laying chickens communicating with the stew pot chickens - might negatively affect production!

Hello there

Stress test over. Results tomorrow

I learned last week that the 83 year old owner of our company has pancreatic cancer. I'm fearful now that the company won't last until my planned retirement.

How far from the Patterson Creek cut off to Western Maryland Health System? That was about an hour for me.

Good evening all,

Semi-interesting day at work.  Some information concerning certain cases was acquired today so it was not a total waste.   Weather was dry at noon but not as warm as predicted.  Got a surprisingly good offer on the model cars I am trying to sell.  Watched Jane the Virgin tonight.  It was a good episode.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Evening,

What a day!  Started off taking Chris to the John Wayne airport at 7:30, he is going to Ft. Riley in Kansas for two weeks.  Doing core sampling for insectidesl, over 300.  Luckily traffic was very good.

Then had to go by the attorneys office and sign some documents.  That didn't go to bad.  But discovered the El Camino needed tires.

While I was doing research on that, and Kay told me she heard a clicking on the Explorer driver side.  The tire managed to pick up a screw, took it in to have it "plugged" but it couldn't be done because it was too close to the sidewall.  So ended up putting 4 tires on it.  (El Camino still needs tires, so maybe on Tuesday.)

Our company website has been down because I needed to change the Domain provider.  (The previous provider sponser's a Nascar team, but they have caused me great difficulties in the past.)  So it's taken two weeks to get that transisiton completed but it is finaly done.

In the mean time the new dental partial has been driving me nuts.  Hopefully, it will calm down soon.  Awh but life goes on!

Got the the trains back on the shelving, that's a big relief.  So progress is advancing, slowly but surely.

Tomorrow back to Dr Marks.

Jim & Roy, did you guys check with the animal rights groups regarding the chickens?  It seems like segregation to me.

Take care all and be safe!
