Mornin' boys.  Rain & 71 in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Several thunderstorms over night resulted in FifeMax all over me.  I'm in no mood today.

Buckeye - I may very well be residing on the yatchett during YORK.  Sleeps 5.  No A/C.

Hello all

Raining like the proverbial cow on a flat rock on the mountain today.

Will have another day off next week due to labor day (well at least a partial day), so hopefully I'll make some more progress on the motorhome.

The Twin Coach deal is moving along. A guy I work with on the mountain is taking the '63 Coupe off my hands. And the '65 4-dr is already sold, but new owner will take possession when he gets back from summer travels. Had been considering selling off the '63 for a while now, as just the Corvan and the Datsun keep me plenty occupied for now.

Saw a Twin-Spotted rattlesnake on the access road yesterday. Had never seen one before. One of 13 species in AZ (of a total of 36) and only exists on a few mountain ranges in southern AZ and prob northern Mexico.

Good evening all,

I am so glad it's now September and I hope the weather cools off soon.  Today was Friday for me as I am off tomorrow which gives me a nice 4-day weekend.  We have no big plans but to finish unpacking the rest of the boxes from our move.  Tomorrow is also the wife's birthday.  She and I will probably drive over to France for dinner to celebrate.  We can drive to the French border in about 30 minutes.  It's time for bed now.

Good night,

Joe

WOW Sept already and page 1!!!

And the party goes on. Good news and bad news from today,
Okay the Thyroid that they tested yesterday is normal but not sure what to do next. I have been taking the meds to sleep so now I need to stop the pills and Dr. wants me to take some kind Beta blocker for at night to reduce the stress and tachycardia ( high heart rate). I would rather not take the Norco and the other two. He has not replied to me or ordered the blockers. Bang Head
Also today I went to the chiropractor in Seneca and he did X-rays of my back and I have a fracture on the L2 vertebra. He has ordered a CT scan to decide if it is something old or from the fall down the stairs. He is thinking it is from the fall.
Life sucks sometimes.  Tongue Tied
Kevin.

Quiet but busy day at work.  Good weather for a walk.  "My" soccer girls got a JV and a Varsity win tonight.  JV was 1-0 and the varsity was 3-1.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good afternoon everyone,

Nothing much happening here.  Got my monthly social security today. Big Smile  I was going to buy something train related, but I think I'll save my money and wait until later in the year before I buy something.

Wishing everyone a nice weekend.  Prayers for those in need and for those who are ill. Angel

Just a quick note,

Kev, really sorry to hear about your back!  Hope the Scan reveals some good news and any problem is minor.  Better days are ahead.

Hope everyone in the southeast gets out of the hurricanes with mild or no damage.

Prayers for all!

Hope everyone has a great weekend, just be safe!!

Good evening all,

A day to forget about and so I will.  Only high point was Hawksworth being 6th fastest today in practice for AJ's team.  Probably will not hold up for qualifying and definitely for the race.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Mornin' boys.  Currently 65 with Hermine's outer bands overhead.  Storm seems to be tracking NE, but pretty much just affecting folks east of I-95.  No need to go fasten down the yatchett this time.  Speaking of, looks like I might be residing on said vessel for a couple weeks in October.

Oldest step-son invited me to come watch his boy play football today.  'Twas nice to hear from him.  He and another young man that I had coached, are now coaching the local pee-wee team, the latter just became a police officer that I had given a glowing referral to.

A nip of fall on the Horth Bluff. Got into the low 50s last night so I kicked on the heat to pull the chill out of the house.

Will be warming up later.

Did two loads of gravel on the lane yesterday in some bad places and need to do 4 more loads to finish.

Well that pill to slow my heart did some, heart rate is 90 BPM right now yesterday it was 120 BPM. But I did not sleep, so tonight it will be beer induced sleep.  Beer

Heading out to Katie's to let Dan use the truck to pick up a glass top for the new dinner table. Not much else.

Good evening all,

We had a great dinner last night.  Another couple we know joined the wife and I at a fantastic restaurant I found online.  It was about a 50-minute drive to the restaurant in France, but well worth it.  Fortunately my elemntary level French paid off and all four of us had an amazing four-course meal.  We will definitely return to this restaurant.  Today we have been unpacking boxes and all three kids' rooms are finished.  Tomorrow we need to finish the guest bedroom.  We have some friends coming over for dinner tonight.  I have some German sausages to grill which will pair nicely with the beer I am drinking now.

Kev - I hope you get some good sleep.  The wine is a better way to go than the beer.

Banks - I'll be praying for the wife's results.

Fife - It must be nice to see how it all comes full circle.

I took some 'milestone dougnuts' into work Thursday.  When I was asked to explain, I replied "730 days".  My older co-workers got it right away.  It took my boss a few beats to figure out that is a retirement countdown number.

College football season is starting GO GREEN!

A reminder for the local train show at the end of October showed up in the mail this week.  Got to start thinking about the two layouts I will be running.

Earlier this summer, I picked up a barrel loader.  Been thinking I need an operating barrel car to go with it.  Any comments aobut the postwar version vs. the later releases?

Healing prayers for those how need ithem.

All for now.

Thank you Sir J.  You did a great statement in the title.

Hope all OK.  Been busy.  We did get rain finally.  Not too bad.  Only got a little breezy.  NC came out good.  Afraid Yanks up the coast might get some bad stuff.  Hope not.

Have a good one.

Here in the Richmond area today it was in the high 60's, blessed relief from the high 80's and 90's we've been having, plus some well needed rain!

Thanks Hermine!

And KRM, hope you're better soon, back pain's no fun, I know, BELIEVE ME I know!

Good Morning from beautiful 58F Sunny Southern Ohio

This weekend is River Days in Portsmouth so there is a lot of activities going on.  The girls were in the Parade yesterday and there are bands and all sorts of fun to do.  There is usually a car show so at least Gabriel and I will be going to see it.  The girls and my bride can’t understand why we’ll stare at an engine bay or lay on the ground to inspect an undercarriage.

The Barred Plymouth Rock chicks should be delivered this coming week.  We’ve got the brooder set up and we’re ready.  The kids are getting into the chicken raising more this time because these are being raised for eggs not just to eat in 8 weeks.

Mike - I commend you for being a Ref for any sport.

Kev - For what you’ve been through it is good you were healthy, a lesser man would have fared far worse I believe.

Fife - Sounds like you have been a positive influence on a lot of kids, may God bless you for that work.

Dennis- I agree the ratcheting box ends are great.  I only have 10mm - 15mm but they are GREAT!  The first one I bought was to remove the transfer case on my truck; the top middle bolt was so close to surrounding stuff a flex end ratchet box was the only way to get to it.

Time for Mass

May God bless

Jim

Evenin' All.

Still vegging out today, sorta. Got my morning walk in then finished packing and servicing tomorrow's stuff for the Labor Day Kid's Club Fun Run. Looks like the tracks will be running multiple trains for a good part of the day. Fell asleep shortly after that and slept til mid-afternoon. Sigh

Kev, Remember "Bottle of wine fruit of the Vine". Drinks

Still fighting the PB battles, up/down/up/down at least the fluctuations ain't quite as bad as they had been. Dizziness is the worst part though, don't know why the BetterHalf and my cardiologist don't believe me when I tell them it's just my blond roots causing it. Smile, Wink & Grin  Got to have a sense of humor otherwise you go nuts.

Nite all, have a great week.

Good afternoon all,

We are enjoying the holiday today and I hope you all will too.  It rained a great deal yesterday but so far it has been pleasant today.  We may unpack a few more boxes today and then I will grill some dinner later.  We do not have much else on the agenda.

Phish - I still owe you a PM; I haven't forgotten, just need to locate the books.

Good day,

Joe

Good Morning from foggy 58F Southern Ohio

Another beautiful day on tap.  We were up late last night as we went to watch fireworks.  Then we helped a friend who owns a popular restaurant take down  a food vending trailer they had at the riverfront.  It took a few hours to do that and we got home about 1 am. We have football practice first thing this morning so Gabriel and I are dragging a bit.  There is going to be a car show today.  That will be good.

Joe - Don’t sweat about the enrichment info; I can only imagine what it would be like to be unboxing after a move like yours.

Doug - Be careful with the dizzy spells, don’t want to go down the same path as Kev, at least not going down stairs.

Happy Labor Day!

May God bless

Jim
