Hello all

Going to pick up the 30A plug and socket I ordered for the motorhome. Should be able to get some decent light in there tonight. Kinda dark even during the day.

Kev - yeah, you know it:) The new Weber carb I ordered should be here tomorrow. I decided if I was going this far I might as spring for the upgrade rather than rebuilding the Hitachi.

We got two nice cars donated to the club this weekend. '65 convertible and a '63 Monza coupe, basically complete w/ a lot of parts.

We have my '63 'baja' on stands now and when I have some time (not just yet:), we will pull the drive train.

Good evening all,

Submmbob, that is awesome about the Corvairs.  Those were good cars.  A '65 convertible, now that is something.   Good day at work.   Shorter walk at noon due to the heat.  Practiced with "my" soccer girls.   Some more phone calls about son's wedding.   So glad when this is over.   Did get to chase local train tonight.  Over 50 auto carriers.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Evening from muggy Southern Ohio,

Currently not raining but there is a good chance of rain tonight.  The new cruise is working great on the Civic.  I really like it.  My 27 mile trip to work is mostly @ 55 & 60 open highway and I missed having the cruise when I bought the car.

The girls are sewing 4-H projects under the eye of my bride, where you sew, then un-sew as needed, (that means take it apart) and sew again till it passes her inspection.  Gabriel is doing knots as a still project, and we’ve been tying and tying  knots again out in the garage.  His meat chickens are really starting to get big.

Bob - I’d be interested in the 295; I don’t have one.

Kev - Hard to argue with Jordan’s logic, just show him what leaves NOT to use.  As I told Gabriel as he was being potty trained; one of the great things about being a guy is being able to “go” just about anywhere.

Good night and may God bless

Jim

Hello all

Well, I have power in the motorhome as of tonight. Now I won't have to go hunt down an extension cord first thing when I go down to work on it. Also did a brief first cleaning. Needless to say, after being outside for a while it is a little dusty.

Jim - I'll ask my friend what he wants for it.

Will go over to Bill's in the morning and drop the head back on the Datsun and install the manifolds. Weber carb is supposed to be here by tomorrow evening. I think the brake switch should be here too.

Considering it's age and the condition when I bought it, the Corvan has been doing vey well as the daily driver for the last two weeks. I will be happy to be using the Datsun again, as it is a better around town vehicle. I think the Corvan will be happy too:)

Fife sounds like it might be time to drop him and get a new realtor. You are allowed to fire him. Easy explanation not getting the results you thought you would want to try someone else. Look nfor a company that says if you home doesn't sell in xx amount of days they will buy it and see what they offer. I know you don't want to but you may need to consider renting it for a year or so then trying again hopefully the market will improve.

Morning all see no post since mine yesterday Morning until this morning. Hope all are doing okay.

Talk to you all later.

 Good afternoon,

Bad night, tried to sleep in bed and that did not work, so back to the recliner and still did not sleep well. To many drugs I am thinking. Way tired of this back thing.

If my back calms down may go look at refrigerators later seeing as ours is in a death roll and the control board it needs is not made anymore so I can't fix it. Angry Will have to have wifey drive because I am in a cloud with this stuff I am on.

Fife

Look at the bright side at least you not trying to sell in in a house slump like we went though trying to sell ours in 2007 and 2008. Place started out at $330,000  sold 22 months later for $249,000. And all that time I was paying $1,700 a month on the bridge loan. That hurt. We went through 3 realtors.  Bang Head

Good evening all,

Internet was done for 24 hours so I could not post last night.  Yesterday and today were both good at work.  Pain two was gone today which made it even better.   My league soccer team lost 5-1 to end the regular season.  We have one playoff game left.   All sorts of news the past few days politically.  Will be interesting to see what shakes out.   Went to see BFG tonight.  Not the best movie I ever saw.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning all,

The forum made  me log in this morning for some reason.

Not much exciting going on here lately.  Just been visiting my wife as much as I can and having lunch with her.  Going again today.  I'm finally going to get some financial relief from my long term care insurance I was told yesterday.  I'm ready!

Went out to breakfast with train buddy today.  Hash browns were burned beyond recognition but they gave me a box of fruit to take home to make up for it.  Would have sent the hash browns back right away but they were just burned on one side and didn't see it until I got into it.  Had a huge ham steak though and took half of it home.  Been doing a lot less cooking lately but I'm getting tired of restaurant food.  Think I'll boil some cabbage to go with that left over ham.

My friend Larry has gone to Denver to ride the U.P. steam special to Cheyenne soon.  Saw some videos of the test run.  Looked real good.  Hope they have learned how to take care of it by now after wrecking the flues and flatening the wheels.  It was out of service for three years.  Not holding my breath waiting to see the Big Boy ever running again.  All the delay caused by overhauling the 844 has put all other projects on the back burner.

Hello all

Went down and checked in w/ the trolley guys this morning. Steady progress there.

Cylinder head is back on the Datsun and the timing chain back together. Rolled the engine and everything seems fine. We found a broken bolt in the intake manifold so we will try and drill that out today.

Weber carb arrived and it looks nice. Also got the brake switch installed in the Corvan, so it is back to 'normal' as much as that gets for a Corvair van:)

Went down and visited the Twin Coach FL bus today. I needed my electric fuel pump off of it for the Datsun. Looking forward to getting back to work on that at some point.

Jim - my buddy said he justs wants shipping for it, so he is going to box it up and get an estimate to NJ.

Good Evening from wet Southern Ohio

It has been sunny and hot but currently we’re having quite a thunderstorm.  We were in the middle of football practice and the clouds gathered quickly and when the lighting came we headed for cover.  Yes, football conditioning has started and they have asked me to help coach again.  It is the same bunch of boys I’ve coached now for the past 6 years.

Bob - I tried to send you a PM.  Let me know if you get it or not.  I’ll send the shipping gladly!

Fife - I hope you get some action on Fifedom!

Kev - Did you get to another doctor?

Bride made tomato pie for supper and I can’t wait!

Good night and may God bless

Good evening,

Jim I have been to two doctors and they agree, Slipped dics. So it was another night in the recliner and I was running out of pain pills, So sent a e-mail to the doc to see what he wanted to do. There is no way I can sleep without them. It is the same way it was with the nerve damage to my arm when I crushed it back in the mid 90s. I could bull through the pain during the day but once you lay down the pain takes over. Doctor re-newed my pills so I am good at least till they are gone. Heavy stuff this NARCO is.

So wife and I went fridg shopping today. Got one from Home Depot. This is the fridge we ended up getting.  $1,104 later with delivery, taxes, and old removal.

 http://www.homedepot.com/p/Frigidaire-Gallery-36-in-W-26-cu-ft-Side-by-Side-Refrigerator-in-White-FGHS2631PP/204160615

When we got home I swapped out the hub assemblies on her car, Now I hurt like all heck but it would of been $800.00 + at the dealer so I just bit the bone and did it.I know stupid but what do you do??? I only spent $113.37 at Rock auto for both hub assemblies and it took two hours to install them.  8:00PM time for a beer.

Good evening all,

Excellent walk at noon.  Got yard mowed tonight.  Pain two left early today so I was able to finish a project that had been on the back burner.   I suppose I should be happy someone from Indiana is on a presidential ticket............................. suppose is the operative word here.  AJ's team did as expected in practice today.  My "super bowl" is tomorrow as I "coach" the alums in a match with the varsity.  I am really looking forward to a win, but who knows what will happen.   Weather is supposed to be good.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Hi,Guys,

I am lucky to be here today, I fell down the basement stairs last night. My head put a head sized hole in the drywall. I have a cut on my head, right leg, bruise on my right hip, bruise on my right shoulder tore off a chunk of my right big toenail off along with other cuts and scrapes. Tripped on my slippers and all the drugs I am taking I sure did not help I am in a cloud all day with them.
At least I have all the right drugs already. Smile, Wink & Grin
My back pain is getting canceled out by my new list of whoas.  OH wait,,,it still hurts to.  Bang Head
This could of been way worse. Surprise

Hola Y'all.

Whoa Kev, looks like you "stuck" the landing so that has to be at least a 9.5 on a 10 point scale. At least when I tripped over a tub of train cars my faceplant was on a carpeted floor.

Cardiologist visit earlier in the week went well. Still emphasised the good results from the cardiac cath but there are still some issues to deal with. I keep telling the doc and the BetterHalf that my dizziness is just my blond roots coming in. Laugh EF is still quite low and the BP keeps bouncing around from 70/40 to 105/55 and all stops in between. Have made some med adjustments so we will see what happens over the next few weeks.

Museum went pretty good yesterday even though we were very short handed, two of the runners had to cancel at the last minute. The two us who were left hadn't brought enuff stuff to completely cover the additional tracks but made do with what was available, wasnt pretty but it worked.

Got a club B-B-Q later at the museum.

Later all.

Good evening all,

Kevin, glad you were not hurt worse.   Alumni game did not go as well as I hoped.  We lost 3-0, but we had almost 20 alums show up so that was good.  AJ's team did not do well in qualifying.  Nice day weatherwise and we celebrated some birthdays today as well.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Afternoon all.  86 degrees and 70% humidity.  HAd 3 inches of rain Friday night [ballgame canceled did have food].  Another 1.7 inches last night.  Enough!!!!!  We were lucky in Roseyville.  Some got an additional 6 inches.  Suppsoe to give us a break today.  We'll see.

Lady engineer has srewed up the pond with her storm water engineering.  Now I will give her this.  She was not expecting the 100 year rain event.  Should have engineered for it.

Kev, make out your insurance as I am your beneficiary.  Please take care.

Wifey left for the beach with Niece.  Her two sisters are already there with all the kids/grandkids.  Sound strange as MIL is on death's bed.  Can't hardly breath or swollow.  So, no food or liquids.  Nothing new.  She has finally gotten worse.  Just existing.  I have all the paperwork for her cremation when she does pass.  Got full time lady with her Dad and Mom now.  Just wait.

Have a good one.

Good afternoon from sunny and warm 89F Southern Ohio,

Just got home from serving the two parishes downtown.  There was a potluck at our home parish welcoming a new priest who is being assigned to assist at the 3 parishes on the east side of the county.  I am stuffed.   Hard to beat fried chicken and german potato salad.  Going to make some automatic chicken feeders and waterers.  The chickens are growing really fast.  They are kind of scruffy looking as the transition from down to feathers.

Kev - For goodness sake, your angel was watching over you.  You could have hit a stud and faired far worse.  I bet you’ll be really sore Monday.

Chief - Prayers for a peaceful death for your MIL

May God bless

Jim

Hello all

Got the Datsun back together yesterday. Runs good w/ the new carb. Had a little fun w/ the electric fuel pump. Installed one I had since the original had given out. We couldn't get fuel at first and then I realized I put the pump in backwards...Tongue Tied

Kev - I guess you need to slow down for a bit. When you feel better the club now has a rust free '65 Convertible and '63 Monza Coupe...Big Smile

Chief - I guess you can stop doing your rain dance

I will limp the 4dr over to Bill's and swap it out for the van. We did get the Corvan dialed in nicely as a result of it being a daily driver.

Tomorrow I go back to working on busses and the move.

Just found out today that my cousin has been over in Ankara visiting his inlaws with his wife and young son.  They're about 2 blocks from the Turkish parliament where all the shooting was going on.  Thankfully they're safe but the FAA isn't allowing any flights to or from Turkey right now.  They thought that maybe if they could get to someplace else and fly out of there on another ticket they'd be OK but no dice.  The feds are on the ball and they look into such things.  So another cousin who works for the State Dept. is looking into whether or not he can help bring them home.  But it's doubtful, they don't play favorites.

My cousin's mother in law said this is like the third time she's gone through one of these since they moved into this apartment.  I think I'd relocate.

Trains, trains, wonderful trains.  The more you get, the more you toot!  Big Smile

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 71 in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Paper recycling day at fifedom, so gotta go through some books this AM before grandson arrives.  And gotta go for my walk too.

Didn't do a whole lot over the weekend.  Played poker with the boys Saturday night, and hung out with youngest princess on the yatchett yesterday afternoon.  We got the house and grounds all spruced up just in case of a showing, but that was for not...

Becky - Best o' luck with the family.

KRM - You remind of Super Dave Osborne...

Beginning to look like there won't be a permanent layout in the future fifedom.  Wifey more concerned about that than I am (bless her heart).  I explained that I'm more than ok just constructing a Christmas layout each year.  Over the past couple seasons,  I've got more excitement out of the North Pole set-up than my basement empire, and the possibilites of designing space stingy works of functional art each year intrigues me.

To be continued...Wink

Sorry about that Bud! When we did dinner after York I mentioned this as to why I did not recommend anyone to you. Smile Rather have you as a friend, than to refer you to someone only to have the disappoint. I would cut ties and go with another realtor. When we were selling TheQ's place in New Windsor we were out to dinner and noticed a realtor advertising their services on their bulletin board. She had a bunch of credentials after her name, so we figured she was pretty good. She was. I would give you her number, but she doesn't work that far out. Sad

Sorry to hear about the lack of a permanent layout... since I still don't have mine running, I also understand about the Christmas layout. So want to get the permanent layout wiring done so I can run trains with the kiddos, we just aren't home long enough for me to get to it!

Chief - sorry to hear about all the rain. We haven't gotten any in a few weeks and now things are looking rather brown. But next week it looks like things are changing.

Morning all.

Fife thats about the exsistince of my train layout at present, Christmas and thats it. When we moved I lost about 300sqft and that was the 300 sqft my train room was. At present the goal is to convert the garage into a trainroom but theres a lot of work in doing that.

No real news here hope all are having a good day been raining past few days but we really need it so it doesn't bother me any. I actually enjoy it.

Prayers for all, Talk to you all later
