Kev, From The North Bluff Above Marseilles IL.
Don B., I'm delighted to hear that you finally got that cast off. Good news about Kay too. Wishing the best for both of you now and in the future.
Another hot day here. Must be close to 90. Santa Ana winds have been blowing all morning bringing heat from the desert.
Still spending most of my time taking care of Helen, cooking, paying bills, driving to appointments and managing her medicine plus my own. We finished her last physical therapy session yesterday but she is only slightly improved. Insurance will only pay for so many visits per year. She will have to keep up the excercises on her own at home.
Another meatless day on account of lent. Have to get some kind of fish tonight. Wish we had a fish and chips place around here.
later,

Good evening all,
Quiet day at work. Rainy weather. Watched Iron Man I tonight. A good day. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Mornin' boys. Cold and wet in the Mid-Atlantic region. Really got to knuckle down and get pitchin' and a throwin'. What I should have done was buy a table at next Sunday's train show in Arbutus. A co-worker is interested in my N scale collection, but only if I practically give it away...
And of course, the wedding craziness has begun.
dbaker- tis good to hear that the Mrs and you are doing well.
for those in need.
Wishing everyone a Happy PI Day!!!!! I expect everyone to memorize PI on this forum. The folks in NC only need to remember the red digits.

Never heard of PI day but Coco's restaurant is offering Pie to celebrate it.
Had to water a little again this morning. Looks like a hot weekend.
Afternoon all!
Happy St Patrick's day weekend - in celebration anyway here...can't have it Tues, no one would show up for work...
Happy PI day. Keep the unity circle unbroken (Buckeye knows what I mean).
Weatherman changed his tune last night. Cloudy, cool, drizzle, ...
Have a great day all!
Regards, Roy
Happy Pi day, everybody. This is a special one that only happens once every 100 years - we will get 8 digits twice today.
A good day. Went to a train show in Ross, Ohio. Saw some nice layouts but did not buy anything. Went to an antique store nearby and scored an October 1959 issue of Sgt Fury and the Howlin' Commandos. Went on to IKEA and did some serious browsing there. Weather was nice as well. I hope everyone has a good day.
Buckeye Riveter I just had apple pie ala mode in celebration of pi day. What did you do special for pi day? (Mrs. Buckeye says that only nerds celebrate pi day. )
Buckeye -- home made Key Lime Pie and a wonderful Iowa State win over Kansas!

Wife and I went to Ryan's for late lunch and not even thinking about it for some reason the chocolate cream pie was tugging on me instead of my normal small piece of choclate cake with banilla soft searve icecream
Morning all just a normal sunday here. Hope all have a good day

Hello there,
I read every day but not much time to post.
Sir James ........Welcome Back
Charlie....looks like you're at the fun part
We had well over 800 for fish Friday evening.
Have I missed the anniversary of Navyjack's passing? Has anyone kept in touch with his family?
Windy and cooler here today. Mom's basement is back to normal. The water runs in one side and out the other. Most of the snow is gone but the Ice remains on the shady side of the house. We are getting ready to head to church for the annual St Pat's day Pot Luck. They supply the Corned beef and cabbage
I may have asked before. Any input on laptops I need to get one and I'd like to avoid Windows 8 if possible.
Next question...anybody have expeience or even hearsay on a Sleep Number bed? I'm just about to pull the trigger on one.
Looking forward to YORK and a day or two of relaxation.
Spotted on Friday at the Juniata shops
Notice the seating. This looks almost like it is designed to run in front of the engine.
And a couple weeks ago
Well I'd best move on.
Prayers for those in need

Banks..... The passenger car in your photo appears to be a company inspection car for wining and dining new customers for the railroad. I was invited and road in the Amtrak car from Columbus to Cincinnati years ago. Not as fun as riding in the cab, but still a great ride. It was configured something like this one in the video at the end of train.
So you ride backwards on this car?
I'm told the entire Norfolk business train, complete with an A A set of E8's, is stored indoors at Juniata. That's something I'll try to confirm with son if I remember.
It's past my bed time
Prayers for those in need.
Rested most of the day as I have a cold that hit really bad last night. Did watch Man U. dismantle Tottenham 3-0 today on Telemundo. Talked to Lucas as well. I hope everyone has a good day.
Banks I think there is more than one set they have as I have seen them run here a couple of times they are nice. When I saw it last they had a bunch of Aluminum and then some brown cars don't remember what was on them actually it was almost primer brown lol
edit Mike you snuck in as I was posting get better from that cold
Good morning, Scattered clouds, 48 degrees and going up to the high 70s then back to normal tomorrow.Going to pick up my Step-Uncle who is nine years older than me and bring him over to see the layout and run trains. It will be the first time we have ran trains together in over 50 years. When we were kids we had a layout 22' x 4' with a 4' x 8' switch yard in his dad's attic. Should be fun.
Aloha - gorgeous day today - then colder this week but I'll take it. Kev, that sounds like a great day! MikeC, Sgt Fury and his Howling Commandos is a great series - I got a buncha issues from the 70s on. Spent a quiet but enjoyable weekend - watched a lot of rugby on the telly and painted some misc. wagon loads for Ivor. You may recall I talked my way onto an inspection car a few years ago. The seats in the rear of the car are tiered to look out the back windows. In this instance, the UP was visiting with online customers.
Doug Murphy 'We few, we happy few, we band of brothers...' Henry V.
Banks....Yes, you ride backwards to look out the huge window in the rear. Towards the front there may be swivel seats. The one I rode in also had a small dining room.
Well Had a real good time with uncle John today, we ran trains and he brought over his Rock Island set 6-38371 and I loved it. Great runner and nice slow speed runner. It is an early ALCO set and it is nice and pulls like a truck. Neat A A set, was nice to run it with him. He enjoyed the layout and of all of the people that have ever been here he looked at it the closer than anyone and seemed to see more than anyone else.
Then we went out for lunch and I took him home. It was nice, we had a lot of good conversation and am glad we hooked up. What more could you ask for??
Have a nice night.
Starting to feel better. Wife's eyecheckup went well. Got grandsons' some stuff from LEGO store. Weather was good today. I hope everyone has a good day.
Mornin' boys. Overcast and 40-something here in the Mid-Atlantic region. S'posed to rain later.
One thing that I'm learning more and more manning the "bridge" is this: STOP using your debit cards for things like gas, fast food, and bars/restaurants. The amount of fraud is staggering, and these places are virtual mine-fields..
Have cash = no worries.
KRM - It is so nice when someone who really can appreciate your work can share same. Nice visit.
Happy St. Paddy's Day to you all! 'Tis a grand, sunny, cold day for celebrating. That Rock Island Alco is a nice set, Kev. Glad you enjoyed the day together.
Gotta say Hi on St Patrick's Day
Yes There is a lot of Irish in my genes, in my younger days I would be Peeing green by sundown.
Good morning, Like Doug said nice but colder on the North Bluff also. Fife, your right about someone who can appreciate your work can share same. Seems most people just look over it but miss most of the detail. I can't get my wife to carry cash, but your right, Those cards are a open invitation to disaster. Doug, My uncle and I are planning on a trip up by you to see the Ill. Railroad Museum when the weather is better. It should make a nice day trip for us.And a Happy St. Paddy's Day to those who partake.

I agree, why anyone would ever want debit card is beyond me. Compared to a CC, they have much more risk to the user, but cash is even better. Banks push them because it shifts a lot of the risk to the user that they have with CCs.
With that off my chest, A good St. PATRICK'S DAY to you all. Been a while, but I'm back. I think Spring has arrived in Central PA, at least for a while. There is a chance of a little snow on Friday morning but not much, we hope.
