HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVE! Good morning all. Hope all your presents are wrapped.
Been raining hard off and on all night and morning. Sump pump pumping in basement. Thundered when this began around 7 last night.
Have a good and safe day.

Hello all
Been a while since I checked in. Nice to see that the software updates are consistent:)
We fight w/ software bugs every day here at the 'scope. Prob the reason I drive 50 year old cars and work on 90 year old trolleys when I'm off.
Sad to hear of Jeffrey's passing. Believe the memorial ceremony was today. Enjoyed swapping parts and stories w/ him. He will be missed.
Not much new on the train front. Working on a small model of the Charles W. Morgan whaleship that I got when I was a teenager I think. Could be my longest duration project yet.
We didn't do much work on the trolley last week due to the street fair. Was fairly miserable weather anyway. They should have the piece of wood I need for the last frame repair (a least on the A end).
Still need to switch out the early model throw-out bearing on the Corvan for the later one (at the time I took a guess, and had a 50% chance of being right:). Hope to change the oil and replace a gasket on the 4dr, otherwise it is running well.
Headed home later today. Nothing planned for Thursday except catching up on sleep and getting together w/ a few friends.

Evening. Still rainy. Suppose to get lots by noon tomorrow.
"Boys" came over and Sienna came over and we ran trains.

Happy Eve of Christmas Eve!
One day to go! All presents wrapped. Traveling kids back home safe. Fire going. Dinner at friends Christmas evening. Steaks primed for Christmas Eve dinner and then 9 pm service. Just need to make a pie or two and all will be ready.
Doug M - white Christmas for you!?
Buckeye - nice! Looks like some future traingineers being groomed there!
Dennis - glad you made it safe and sound!
Have a great evening all!

A LEGOS kinda day in Cbus.
Happy day before Christmas Eve all,
Wife and I are alone for a couple of days. Our live in son stayed overnight near his work in Temecula, Ca. They are working half day today and having Christmas party I think.
Need to go out and pick up some last minute groceries for the holiday.
Dennis V8, glad you made it to Oregon. Have a nice Christmas with your family.
Saw something on internet today about a Yale University discovery of cause and possble cure for Alzheimers. Hope this is not a cruel joke. If it were real it should be in the news but have not heard anything. Probably snake oil salesman trying to sell something.
later,

Aloha. Happy Christmas Eve Eve to you all. Looks like a quiet day. All the gifts I purchased arrived so that's good for the youngsters. I am spending some time with the middle boy talking about life and college and what he may or may not do in Jan. I also spent some time tinkering with Ivor. Usually I remove most of the buildings so the bride can exhibit them in a sort of Christmas village without trains. Then the day after Christmas they go back where they belong :)

Buckeye - Great Job!When anyone mentions Roadside America this is what I envision http://roadsideamericainc.com/ one of the most impressive and memorable train layouts in the USA. I've been there a number of times and will be taking the kids there sometime soon.

Morning. Rainy as usual. Errand and lunch with Town Clerk [I'm buying].
Buckeye always does a great job with his Christmas Train Party for the kids.
Software still not fixed. Still have to cut and paste emoticons from start of post to where I want them.

Morning all not a lot going on here today. once the appliance guy gets here to look at dryer again as think its a sensor this time. it gets warm on the sensor side of the timer but timed side it gets hot now so it had two things going wrong on it.
Then want to go to store when he leaves.

Roy that is so true, my first car cost me $25.00, drove it for a long time.
Evening all!
Mike C - good news for you!
Dennis - hope your trip goes well. Air travel in recent years has become a pretty miserable experience.
SJ - when I was in high school one could purchase a full size Hudson for $20. You could also get a Kaiser for $20. Obviously the purchase price was not in any way related to what it cost to keep it running...
The missus and I made it to the mall for stocking stuffers. Just parking is stressful. We rewarded ourselves with a stop at one of the restaurants if you get my drift.
Countdown continues (depending on one's reference)...2 days to launch!
Have a great day tomorrow all!
Looking good Kevin glad to help
Good evening all,
Cleared for soccer! Best news I heard all year. Van is running better after tune-up. Watched "Ernest Saves Christmas", a family tradition. Wife and I wrapped presents. Weather is mild for this time of year. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana

Hello there,
Thought I posted Sat AM but it didn't Show
So sad about Jeff....I agree with Chief. He wouldn't have been happy any where but on his own.
Spotted these at the Juniata shops on Thursday
The Grandkids spent the day with us Saturday and helped decorate their Great grandparents tree and gathered the eggs for me
Then Sunday I helped son shell the last of the corn before we added lights to another of Dad's pine trees
Best run......Christmas is coming!!!!!!!!!!
Prayers for those in need

Sun for a change, temp is 37 with NO snow. I helped set-up and run the Glancy modular layout yesterday for a show. Didn't buy any trains but got a nice Franklin Mint die-cast 1951 Hudson for twenty bucks.
Merry Christmas all
S.J.
Morning. Raining. Errands. Have a great day.
Mornin' boys. Overcast and 31 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Back on nights. Seems the protestors are getting their wish... I will say this, a recent trend I've noticed is that folks of all kinds have been taking the time to thank us on the street, perhaps in spite of what the media keeps jammin' 24/7.
So, Sister and BIL show up last night to take nephew's layout home. I had built it for a certain corner of their rowhome, then they changed gears on me as we arrived. Long story short, it's now on their living room floor with tree in middle. Looks and runs great. The Bang I gave nephew for his birthday ran perfect. He was very pleased, as were his parents whom were still on the floor running train as I left.
First time I've tried posting since the update.
Haven't seen the sun for a week or 10 days. The line "In a deep and dark December" from the Simon & Garfunkle song comes to mind.
Ran the Polar Express layout at the museum yesterday. Just a few people came through. Broke it down and dragged it home today. Forgot to get pictures this year
Just a few odds and ends to get taken care of, then we will be ready for the holidays.
All for now.
A good day. Finished the wiring on the standard gauge layout for Christmas. Wired up a 6-62162 crossing gate with an insulated track. Works well. Wife and I baked pixies for Christmas. Took van to dealer to have them do some maintenance work tomorrow. Have a checkup from the surgery. Should get cleared for soccer again. Yes! Wife and I watched the George C. Scott version of "A Christmas Carol". That is the best one, IMHO. It has been 30 years since it was made. I hope everyone has a good day.
Ray - for your wife and you.
Cowboys seem on a roll. Will it last? C'Boys were good today but Colts were really bad.
Shrimp & rice tonight. Fire going. More football!
Watching our daughters puppy for a few days while she and significant other spend time with significant others family in Missouri. Puppy giving our 14 year old dog fits. Can tell this pup is going to turn out a really good dog. Was afraid of potential for a real mess while she is here but so far so good! Sleeps in a portable kennel cage. Little to no nighttime whining. Daughter has done a good job starting the pup out.
Not expecting much for Christmas and I specifically asked the family to stick to my short 3-4 item list. I have way too much stuff and am trying to sort it down. I also said I preferred things that are "consumable."
Have a great evening all! Stay warm!
sir james I Kev they play to win. 1 bad hit and they got a penalty for it.
Kev they play to win. 1 bad hit and they got a penalty for it.
Hey they played liked scum. Bags. The NFL wants to STOP Concussion damage????? and the Lions get away with a head on helmet to side of head helmet hit, Guess The NFL just wants to cash the check. JMHO. Like I said got no respect for that kind of play.
I won't say any more on this softwear. I will just cut and paste from forums that work.
Kids are gone hose has fallen quiet, cat is in bed. Was watching the game now some time in the train room to clean up the carnage and widen two sets of tracks so I can install the passenger station I got from RT yesterday.
Well SJ,and Doug, the Bears could not get it done but it was at least a good one to watch. I don't have any respect for the Lions after watching the dirty way they play and hit. Not that I care but,,,,,,, dirt play is dirt play. I just hope they get their clocks cleaned.
Nothing else here. Lets see how this works????
