Good evening all,

Going back to Firefox to post so that at least the spacing is ok.  Reffed one game today.  It was well played but not a close game as it ended 3-0.  Both coaches did an excellent job of being positive throughout the game with the kids.  Finished a puzzle with the wife.  Off work tomorrow for a personal day.   3 or 4 day work weeks thru mid November for doctor visits, holidays, or 4 day weekends.  Nice. Soccer boys have first game of tourney on Monday night.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Aloha. Spent a pleasant if cold and wet weekend in downtown Chicago with the bride. Now back to work. No train news of late, but with the leaves falling, I find myself spending more time in the basement assessing some cosmetic work I have to do on the layout Big bust of a Bears game ...

Mornin' boys.  Pleasant & 50 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Yard work and oil change today on the Durango.  Synthetic oil + cartridge filter = $55. Upside, only changing every 5k.

Morning.  Chilly and nice fall day.  Off to get chest x-ray.  Then County Commissioners followed by Town Board.  Rest of the week till Friday, mainly rest.  Friday, go east and insure hunting camp ready.  Sat., opening day of rifle season.  If raining [could], come home.

Have a great week.

Fife, Why every 5K? That is way too often using Synthetic. My Dakota's manual "called for" oil changes at 7K using regular oil. I always went 10K + using Mobil 1 traded it off with 167K and never had any engine related issues. It had the 4.9 V8 Does your Durango have a oil monitor that tells you when to change it or is that the dealer blowing in your ear about 5K?

The Silverado and wife's car both tell you when to change the oil off combustion events picked up by the on board computer. She can go 11K before it tells her to change it and the truck will do 8 to 10K depending on the type of driving. That is also considering conventional oil.

Nice out there today. working on the corners for the chimney filling some cracks before I stain them.

Don, Thanks for the info on Fontana. I thought that was where the NASCAR track is.

Afternoon All.

Busy weekend, 50th anniversary party for a friend Saturday then on Sunday a one year anniversary jam session for a friend who passed last year. For being two very different occasions they both had so much in common, lots of good food good music and lots of fond remembrances.

Bruce, You might try giving Brasseurs a call for K-Line parts and info. When K-Line went belly-up they ended up with all the parts and papers from Lionel.

Chief, Slow down and smell the roses !

Well, based on weather guessers statements I thought the electric meter was going to get a bit of a rest today. NOT ! It is a little bit cooler with the emphasis being on little. Bang Head

With York rapidly approaching and not being able to attend in person I decided I'd be there in spirit. Yesterday's breakfast was one of my favorites from my youth, Scrapple !

Gotta get a move on. Lots of stuff to do.

Later all.

Thanks Doug.  I wasn't aware of that.  It's coincidental you mention them.  We were planning a shopping trip to Michigan later in the fall and Brasseurs was on the list of places to see.

Good evening all,

Did a lot of "odds and ends" today.  Was hoping to see the boys' first sectional game, but lightning and thunder postponed that one.   Will try again tomorrow.   Will work on Halloween stuff tonight.   I hope everyone has a  good day.

Morning all.  Sunny and cool but warming into the 80's this week.  Big surprise.  Opening day of gun season in NC has been second Sat. in Oct. for years.  So all of us were planning to go Friday night to the camper, hunt Sat.  I was planning on going back next week for a few says [no meetings week].  SURPRISE!!!  Friend Fred happened to look in the regulations manual as bow season was delayed a week this year.  So is gun season. Surprise  It opens the next Sat.  Pam planned our trip to Gettysburg so I could hunt opening day and the next week.  Nope, gone opening day. Bang Head  Will hunt the next week and canceled all my meetings.  Going to do something for me for a change.  Town can wait.

Guys, I think Wifey is now saying we are not leaving until Friday.  Could do Sat. night somewhere, I think.  Make her come along to meet the motley crew.  We'll see.  Don't know the distance from G'burg to York.

Off to try and get xray today.  Yes, Dr.'s ofc. screwed up order.  Got there.  They hadn't sent [was suppose to be done last Friday afternoon].  Then they sent it to wrong place after I had discussed which center I was.  Not good.

Need to mow but really don't feel like it this AM.

Have a good one.

Chief, if you go to Gettysburg and you have the chance, view the movie before you go. Went there my first York in '96 and in April of this year. A majestic place. There is also a great micro-brew pub at Seminary Ridge with a very good menu.

Evening all!

Chief the 30 miles from Gettysburg to York is a slow 30 miles. Not sure it would be worth the effort. It is a pretty drive.

York closes at 2 pm Sat and most folks head home.

I depart Sun morning from Baltimore and will be moving to Hotel close to BWI Sat evening.

if some folks are interested in Sat early evening dinner we can head to Baltimore afterwards.

Have a great evening all!

Forgot that.  Maybe Friday night if we get there early enough.  You have my cell [as others do too].  Call me when you know where everyone is eating and I can tell you then if I can make it.  Wifey says she would love to meet the gang.

Shake and Bake, show Chris this.  He is single like Frankie.  This is Frankie's "toy" vehicle.  Stays in his garage except certain show days or meet days.  Maybe Chris wants one of these.  Chick magnet.

600HP

The other night, I asked him why 600HP.  He just laughed. Confused

Evening gents!

Spent the day obsessing over the pair of F7's and pretty much sorted it all out.  Relearning how to operate with TMCC helped a lot.  About all that's left is to sort out the tether, which intermittently disrupts power to the rear unit lighting.

I continued with some more detailing.  Here's the front unit with wipers and wind vents added.

?tn=1504812379

Note that the coil coupler is on the front unit whereas the rear units coupler is manual.  You would think the logical position for the coil coupler would be on the rear.  I could have cared less about one up front...a dummy scale coupler would suffice.

Chief,

You don't need to go to Gettysburg.  Here's what happened.

Pickett charged across an open field firing and cussing as he went.  A Yankee from Cadiz, Ohio woke up and fired back with bigger guns.  Pickett turned around.  George Armstrong Custer went back to sleep. The end.

Roy,

My favorite place in Baltimer for super, unless fife is going to feed you free, is Stony Creek Inn near the bridge across the bay.  BTW, if you have never seen the train shed at Mt. Royal Station it is worth a peek.  Nothing like it, as far as I know west of the Allegheny Mtn. Very European.

Thanks Buckeye for the references.

Communicated this evening with JEFElectric and he will be there next week including breakfast at RoC.

Buckeye - Round the Clock diner is just about an eighth of a mile east of the I83/hwy 30 intersection on the north side of 30. Couldn't recall if you have been there previously.

Good evening all,

I agree with the slow 30 miles from York to Gettysburg.   Unless Us 30 is a true 4 lane now, all it was when I drove on it was 3 lanes with the middle one a turn lane and NO passing opportunities.  UGH!   Watched the end of the season for the soccer boys as a valiant effort went down to a 3-0 defeat.  Work was quiet today was some glitches, but overall it was ok.  At least the weather cooperated for the game tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Rail Plate ( Bruce) If you check you will find for some reason a lot especially post war F-units had fake couplers on the rear and operating on the front I have no idea why but that's how they where. My NYC back to classics are that way.
