Afternoon Fellas

Been a bit off the past week. Don great news on Kay! Prayers for continued recovery.

Last week was really tough. Monday I had the kids to the doctor and was told nothing was wrong with either. Then Tuesday night TheQ had a sever allergic reaction to an antibiotic and ended up with Steven Johnsons Reaction, nearly lost her. She has spent the week since recovering and dealing with her illness. Yesterday we took Christina to an Urgent Care facility and was told he has a sever sinus infection (same symptoms as last Monday) and that her tonsils are rather large and the Dr recommended we take her to a Pediatric ENT. Really upset with her regular pediatrician right now.

Had a nice Fathers Day with the family yesterday. I received two bottles of my favorite rum (English Harbor from Antigua), I have been looking for this since our honeymoon and finally found a 'local' store that carries it.

Really need to get back into the train room, but with my rental property requiring about $3,000 in repairs I don't know when I'll find the time. sigh

Bad year for San Diego baseball fans. Before the season started Jerry Coleman, former Yankee & Marine Corp fighter pilot in WW2 and Korea, passed away now followed by a true gentleman of the game Tony Gwynn as he passed away this morning.

Good Morning !

Things couldn't be better here !  Sure have a lot to be thankful for !!!

I was kinda of thinking, most of us have received from each other prayers and well wishes for various situations, may they be mostly medically related, or a loss of a family member, or other difficult situation.  So, its hard for me to pass on the opportunity a situation that is quite positive, concerning one of our buddies.  Found the article below in a newspaper and thought it was worth sharing.  (Hope I have reproduced it correctly so it can be viewed.)

Just in case I didn't here is a link.  http://rolesvillebuzz.com/feature/hosta-society-tour-stops-in-on-local-garden/

Garden growing good now due to rains and heat.

Good evening all,

Watched both World Cup games on ABC today.  Probably same games Chief saw.  Swiss won a barn-burner literally in the last seconds 2-1.   Wow!   Got phone calls from all 3 kids.  Wife went to Pizza King for lunch and made some delicious brownies for dessert.  Life does not get much better.  Good to hear news about Kay.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Don - great news about Kay. Continued prayers for healing and recovery. I went to an automotive swap meet yesterday. I spent a big, whopping $1 on a dealer emblem that happened to be the same as my last name. I also picked up a Craftsman 1/2" spindle shaper and a half dozen bits for $125. It is all cast iron construction, so from a price per pound view, I think I got a pretty good deal. All for now.

Happy Father's Day All !!!

Kay is now home and things will begin to normalize soon.  She really looks good and acts great !  Taking it easy for a few days to get stamina back, so going to have Black Bear Diners take out tonight.   Watching Despectable 2 this afternoon.  So a relatively low key day but thats ok.

Again I thank you all and really appreciate all your thoughts and prayers !

Hope everyone enjoys their day!

Happy Father's Day!

Spent time over Mom's last week. Because of the rain no yard work but I expanded my "Branchline Layout" from 4x7 to an irregular 9x12 with 72" curves on the outside loop. Now to finish designing and laying out the inner tracks of the addition. Everything is quiet here and it is a relaxing, goof off day for me.

Don: Prayers go out to Kay, her Uncle, you and Chris. I feel Chris made the right decision. Glad to hear that all is going good for Kay. Mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer 2 years ago. She came thru everything fine and next month she will be 85.

Laz: Glad Minnie will be ok.

Chief: Congrats to Pam on her Garden Show.

Doug DG: Get well soon.

Enjoy the Day!

John

Mornin' boys.  Happy Father's Day!  Absolutely perfect weather-wise.  Wifey and I went on yatchet yesterday, and probably scared some fishies.  We also discovered a nice little waterfront grill.  Gonna spend some time in HavreDeGrace today, then meet up with family.  Kids gave me gift card to my "other" favorite toy-store.

Stay foamy. BeerPirate

Morning all.  Happy Fathers' Day.  Sunny and less humid.

Had over 20 here yesterday afternoon.  I had to help cook and etc.  Seems Pam thinks I like that. Confused  Some didn't leave until 9:30.  Was suppose to do a welcome at a Bluegrass thingy the Town had.  Couldn't get my vehicle out.  Didn't get PD to pick me up as they were busy with traffic.  Texted and got out of it.  Wifey does not plan well and does things without asking.  Oh well.

Watched some of the World Cup.  OOOPS.  Now Mike will see this. Embarrassed

Being lazy.  Did get a helicopter from pets.  Learn to fly it outside before taking it in the box.  Will fit well with trains.

Last word was Kaye was doing well and coming home today.  Prayers.

Charlie's family and cancer???  Missed something.  Prayers.

Have a great week all.

Laz, are you working on the railroad this summer?

Hi DOUG,

The answer to your question is no I am not.  The last I did volunteer work there was two summers ago, boy time flies.  When I had inquired about working for pay there they had no openings but said I could continue volunteering if I wanted.  But with an hour commute each way and a 10 hour work day I declined.  Plus I have lots o work here to keep me very busy.  I would have loved to still be there but when you weigh it all out just didn't make sense, I'd be losing money and time to keep on engineering and firing up the train.  If only I win the big lottery, I could purchase the sister engine there and start my own railroad down here, lol!  Nice dreamYesWink.

Happy Father's Day!

Ohayo Chuck,

So far it's been an easy day here.  We went out for breakfast this morning.  I splurged and had chicken fried steak and eggs and ate every bite.  I need to start boxing up the display trains today and also dismantle the UTB RR.  I hope everyone has a great day.

Good evening all,

Sorry I did not post Friday night.  Work was quiet that day, but busy.   Mowed the yard Friday night and then took wife to see "X-Men".  Good flick.   Slept in Saturday, but went to lawn mower shop to look at a 30 inch mower, then to antique store, and then to a historical museum in Irvington, which is in Indy.   Got the latest MR at a hobby shop, went to Menard's, Barnes and Noble, Dick's Sporting Goods, and finally Half-Priced Books.   Watched both of the World Cup games I taped earlier in the day.  Don B, good to hear Kay's progress.  Hope it keeps up.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good afternoon all,

D.Baker, continued prayers for Kay.

Got up late again today so took walk in park where there is shade.  Wife was up at 2:00AM and her movement woke me too.  Did not go back to sleep for about an hour.  Makes me nervous when she is up at night.

Got a cheap car wash today with ticket sold to me by local high school football team.  Lousy car wash but better than nothing.  No adult supervision. Kids were just squirting each other with water hose and girls were taking pictures.  If any water got on cars it was an accident.

Got invite to a birthday party for 94 year old tomorrow.  Didn't realize it was father's day until later.  Maybe we will do that a week late or forget it.

later,

Ray

Aloha. Happy Flag day - and kudos to all of you fathers. Lots to lift up this morning. Praying for Kay's recovery - and Don's continuing recovery this am, as well as the cancer situation in Charlie's family. Don, our university has temporarily shut down our Thailand travel courses  - right decision for Chris. Prayers also for Fifepup's job.

Heading off to the Illinois Train Museum as an early Father's Day gift to myself.  Gosh, I can relax later in one of Don's patented Portable Swimming Pools. Hope you are all catching World Cup fever!
