Hello There,
TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!and a three day weekend!!!!!
I’ll be spending most of it trying to get caught up on yardwork. .The only good thing about the cool weather is the grass isn’t growing as fast as it could…..
Spring is 2 or 3 weeks behind here. Latest farming problem is son bought 108 day maturity seed corn and he’s at least 21 days late planting. It will be hard pressed to mature before frost. Bought four 300 lb. feeders for $170 per lb. That seems like a lot but that’s what they’re going for….
Tomorrow AM I’m hoping to make the rounds of the cemeteries and plant some flowers and then mow grass. I’ve been using son’s Toro Proline walk behind to do it. (It’s better than walking on the treadmill) The yard is a mess. If it dries enough I need to but the bagger on the Gravely or dig out the lawn sweeper and clean it up.
Monday I may go the the parade and then a small family Picnic
Chief...hope all your wounds heal up for ya.. I think I'd consider moving to the Farm or Lake House if that craziness was closing in on me.
Best head t bed
Prayers for those in need with an extra one for those who made the ulyimate sacrifice for their country.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill.......
It is a sunny 55 degrees. Going up to 70 with sunshine.
Today is an easy day. Indians game at Noon on TV. They seem to be coming back from the slump. I think I will spend some time outside this afternoon.
Usual breakfast on the dining car.
Y'all have a great Saturday.
Chuck
Beautiful morning. Slept well. Only some minor pain [more like a burn]. Off to new Farmer's Market in Roseyville. Then some Tabasco pepper plants to set out.
Later.

Hello all
Back up on the mountain.
Don - glad to hear you are out of the cage. I 'd hold off on any tri-athelon's thought...
Chief - see you made it on tv again
Nothing much new on the train front. After moving the work bench last week, it looks like a 4 X 6 layout is more feasible than a 4 X 8. Need to check out a few plans, but I pretty much have an idea of what I want already.

Chief - Fifey-Wifey says you did a good job; "Hey, I wanna come to Rolesville!"
Chief, nice to see you on the TV spot. Your high school looks very big. Surprised at the 75 million cost but I'm out of touch on such things now. I remember my high school in Virginia cost 4 l/2 million to build but that was about 1954 or 1955. It was a big school also. Broke my heart when they tore it down. The place was still in such good shape. There was a major population shift during the 60's. When built the school was in the suburbs but now I guess it is part of the inner city. They built a new one I hear out in what is now the "new" suburbs but it will never take the place of the old one in memory.
PS, glad your procedure went OK.

Good Morning,
Chief, Glad you slept well. Didn't think that would go that well for you especially the first night. How long you have to keep your hands bandaged? And, how are you going to plant Pepper Plants with two bandaged hands?
Advice from a experienced expert, when your arms/hands are bandaged you should parley that into a "NO Work" condition, with the appropriate nursing situation. A bandaged back condition should be considered minimally a low exertion condition. No excessive shopping trips, lawn mowing, garden work, etc. Do you get the idea??>?
Your video is great, some of us are satisfied with doing a "Master Plan" on a train layout, but not you. No you get a whole town to plan. You need to find another activity to fill in all your free time. You certainly wouldn't qualify as a poster boy for AARP!
My leg really doing great, doing more "walking" around the homestead daily. Going to head out into the train room today and see what I can get into.
Banks, Sounds like the work is never done on the farm. Good luck chasing the weather!
Bob, What size curves will you be using, looking forward to seeing your design.
Hope everyone has a Great weekend and holiday, but remember by SAFE and Stay Healthy!
Don
Dennis that's interesting re: the Wolf. Last summer when were in north west Montana we had lunch with another couple who were from that area. He and his son are both ranchers and have been his entire life, raising cattle and horses. The subject did come up about wolves, he had nothing nice to say about them as they were killing his cattle, even at his home while they are in pens at night. They have asked the DNR for help and they are overwhelmed so no help, his son was taking the matter into his own hands as he is losing way to much livestock.
I do know that eco system has benefitted from the reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone. Just not a good situation for ranchers with livestock. Coyotes are another problem.

So many roads, so little time.
Good evening all,
Busy day today. Went to see grandson's team lose 9-3. Did some family visiting and shopping. Had a nice day. Got latest CTT yesterday. Good issue. Tomorrow is the day I wait for all year long. Indy 500 is all my holidays wrapped up into one. Weather looks to be dry and warm. Hope all end the race safely. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Reclinerized for a few. I think the Tylenol I took at 10 did it.
Yes Don, only one hand bandaged. Still holds post hole diggers. Ground here is soft and no rocks [in my yard]. Some have solid granite in theirs. Dig hole, through in fertilizer, kick in some soil, more fertilizer and then a plant [Wife did the stooping to do the plant]. She watered.
Speaking of watering, someone cut off the water. No rain in a while. Ground still really moist though. Need a good shower.
Off to bed. Sleep tight.
Konbanwa and Ohayo Chuck,
I was busy the past few days and ran out of time to post. On Thursday, the baseball team had a game and won by a large margin. They are now 5-0. I didn't work on Friday, but the wife and I were busy with errands. Yesterday, the older son and I went to a Japanese professional baseball game. We watched the Siebu Lions host the Yakult Swallows. The starting pitcher for the Swallows was Chris Naverson; he played a few seasons for the Brewers before tearing his rotator cuff. Unfortunately he did not play well and was out after three innings. It was a high-scoring game and the Lions won. We had Sunday school and church this morning and have been relaxing this afternoon. I was glad to receive an email from Walter Matuch and see that RMT is up and running again.
I hope everyone has a great Sunday.
Regards,
Joe

Hi GUYZ,
Happy Memorial Day Weekend. TANKS all you VETS!, for your sacrifices to make this the greatest nation on earth!!!!
Been real busy here in Millersburg. Doing a the yarden work,. Now getting ready to tear down old pavilion and outdoor fireplace. Gonna build a new one then. Probably be to end o summer to get everything done? Gonna be a 20 x 25 foot pavilion with an enclosed 6 x 20 ft. area for furniture and tool shed. Then a few ceiling fans and a new outdoor fireplace with side burner for charcoaling. Nothing like a charcoal bar b q! So I got some work to do.
Ran trains on Friday nit, NO PILE UPs, all ran good.
CHIEF, CONGAs on the ROSEYVILLE news broadcast. Just hope it doesn't bring in those shady characters from the YORK photos? Hope it doesn't take all your hunting spots too.
CHUCK, TRIBE is getting a little better beat the Orioles yesterday. Now to get some pitching?
JOEY D, CONGAs on the baseball team. Way to go!!
SHAKE & BAKE, CONGAS on the foot. Pace yourself with the rehab. Hope you have a good looking PT like CHUCK had?
Stay frosty my friends,

Wheres BUCKEYE?
Mike C. -- I well appreciate your love of Indy car racing, there are three major sporting events during a year that I try hard not to miss, this is one of them. Who should I be cheering for? If you could pick 2-3 drivers that you would like to see win, who would they be?
We have a neighbor that goes every year (long drive from Adel) with his family, he has a brother that lives near Indianapolis and has a motorhome. I'll bet he hasn't missed one in 30 years. He also told me that after the race they wait at least nine hours before they even attempt to leave. I would love to attend once, what a fantastic tradition!.
Morning all. Bad me over slept and did not make Sunday School. Wifey neither. Will next Sunday as she has to sub for someone.
Off to ACE in a few. Pick up some items on sale, Then she is going to her Mom and Dad's to do a small garden. I will drive down to SIL's next door later for a hot dogs and hamburgers cookout.
Getting ready for the Dixie Hosta Society buses to roll into the Main Street Park early Friday morning. They will walk across the street to tour Wifey's gardens. Thursday and Friday will be dedicated to getting ready for that.
Jon, is your "crew" going to do some Memorial Day thing? You all do so much for fallen soldiers. I plan on doing another Golden Corral night and give them a big donation for Camp Corral.
Bad news out of CA. One Dad blaming NRA. I thought CA had some of the strictest gun laws. OH, I guess they are going to outlaw knives and vehicles too. CBS down played the stabbings and "run overs".
Have a great week.
Frank -- we have only one scheduled for tomorrow, it's a speech and lunch to commemorate the 50th anniversary (somehow that word seems wrong) of the Viet Nam war. It will be led by our State Capt. who had three Marines KIA under his command, that will a tough one but we get through it. After that Sharyl and I will go to the Freedom Rock and then the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, they do a great job of preparing the cemetery and I always manage to find a WW II vet, typically wearing a blue blazer, fresh white shirt/tie and grey slacks. There are fewer every year, I hope my friend -- a Pearl Harbor survivor is there, still sharp as a tack.
Good morning all,
Another tragedy in Santa Barbara with a gun toting nut. California does have some of the toughest gun laws they say but it does'nt seem to stop these guys. It must be the changing culture. Who knows? I am sure the answer is not a simple one. Maybe it's too late to change it. I hope not. When I was young, I think we had a greater fear of the consequences if you killed somebody but nowadays they just commit suicide and take as many as they can with them. Prayers for all of us.
Both my sons are watching the Indy 500 over at oldest son's house today. I might watch some of it.
Had a great breakfast today with Bacon, eggs and pan size pancakes. Yum yum!
Have a pleasant memorial day weekend. #1 son's birthday coming up on May 30th.
Got a warning light on instrument panel in my Honda. It normally comes on when the emergency brake is on but now it comes on once in a while while driving and braking. Think it might be low fluid or worn brake pads. Have to get it checked out next week.
Got bless all our vets, those still with us and the ones who gave all.
SIL had hot dogs and hamburgers grilled. Followed by cherry pie and ice cream. Plop plop fizz fizz. Have a good one and sleep tight.
Evenin' Y'all,
Had a great run Friday, the usual crew plus three guests. Looks as though one will be joining the club, one was not really a guest actually Charter Member #1 who now resides in Scottsdale, the other guest is from the Tucson area and involved with the Gadsden museum and a long time friend of some of our Charter Members. Had a surprise B'day cake for one of our regulars who turned 86 on Friday. No gremlins were present so things went great.
Yesterday was veg-day, today is pack-up stuff for the Kid's Club Fun Run tomorrow. The kiddos run the layout for the whole day with crew changes every hour. Will be running two trains per main with TMCC & DCS, hope all goes well.
Bob, Understand that there will be a trainmeet in Tucson next weekend..
Enjoy the weekend and remember those who served and continue to serve.

Great weather, great race. Glad to see an American win. AJ's and Sarah's team did not do well. Pippa was a non-factor as well. Traffic was easy going in and out of the race. Came home and watched the race on TV again. When you are there, you can concentrate on the teams you want to watch. Nothing planned for tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good day.
It has been a nice Memorial Day here. We ran some errands this morning but have been relaxing most of the day. I'm making baby back ribs for tonight's main course. We'll have some root beer floats for dessert. I should go to bed early tonight since I had a long weekend and will not be ready to go back to work tomorrow.
I hope you all have a great holiday.
Sayonara,
Good Morning from Blueberryhill.....
Good Morning, Joe......Baby back ribs make a great meal.
It is a sunny 60 degrees. Going up to 85 today with sunshine.
Today is an easy day. Relaxing and reading my new copy of CTT. I will spend some time outside. Indians game this afternoon.
Happy Memorial Day to Everyone. Remember those who have given their lives for our freedom.
Y'all have a great Memorial day.
Beautiful good morning. Sunny and warm. Low humidity.
Off to flea market for a visit. Haven't been in years.
Water later [yes, got to water with all the rain we had in the past].
Mow grass. Head to the lake late and mow tomorrow and come back.
Shake and Bake called yesterday. Bum is out dancing a jig at some computer show.
Missed another TCA meet for second month in a row. I used to get a reminder on line but must be out of the loop now somehow. Have to check on that. Too many other things on my mind lately.
Having Tony Roma precooked ribs and all the fixins today including corn on the cob. Weather heating up again.
Wife has appointment with the neurologist again tomorrow. Hope we can find out something better than last time.
Electric bill jumped up about $150 more than last month because of the heat wave we had. House has poor insulation. Heat shield on roof but nothing in walls which are masonry construction.
Good show on TV yesterday about dedicating a statue of Major Richard (Dick) Winters in Normandy. He was the leader of the parachute group featured in Band of Brothers on TV. He passed away in recent years. First class leader.
Good Morning! 80, Sunny and Windy!
We had a nice family BBQ yesterday. Today it is wax the boat and relax.
Joe D: Nice Baseball record. 5-0. Congrats to the team.
Laz: Sounds like a Great Pavilion.
Chief: Congrats to your wife for her garden and the Dixie Hosta Society.
Enjoy the Day everyone and remember what this day is about.
John
Happy Memorial Day boys! Mama Nature cookin' up a great start to summer today, with 85 degree temps and SSW winds @ 8-9 mph. Going out on yatchet? You betcha!
Yesterday was with Wifey and the chickletts at David's Bridal. Oldest Princess picked out a beautiful white strapless sequined dress. She was a stunner, but heck, the gal could make a potato sack look good to be honest. Felt a little sorry for some of the other brides-to-be, because every time "Barbie" stepped out in front of the mirrors, everyone kinda focused on her...
Y'all enjoy the day, and thanks to our military members, past and present.
For a non-active day, did a lot. Balanced checkbook, replaced 2 toilet seats (harder than it looks), got trash together, and will watch Victory Dinner tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.
Happy Memorial Day from still icy Michigan. These were taken yesterday in Marquette.
