Aloha. SUnny and hope to get to 60 today but next week looks like 20s again. Sheesh! Wish it was warmer but lots of the snow is gone. Other than chores and work, nothing fun.  11 years... wow.

Good morning all,

Still not quite finished yet on the pool water exchange but testing kit indicates results I'm looking for are close. If I don't get it today, I am going to call it quits and just live with the water as is.  I can't keep pumping in new water forever.  Probably going to have a big water bill next time.

I haven't heard anything really new about the Maylasia flight 370 search.  Media is just spinning wheels over it.  Hope they can at least confirm that the flight went down in the Indian Ocean.  Finding the plane is a long shot.

Here we go again with the U.S. VS Russia.  All the clown cars are running again in both camps.

Don B. I'd like to see that B29 when you're done.  Must be pretty big.  I have a l/48 DC3 hanging in the garage and that's pretty big.  A B29 would be a lot bigger.

I have not heard any details about D. Barker's surgery.  I must have missed the post he made about it being unsucessful so I don't know what he actually said.  Hope he has some hope for a solution.

My sister in Florida finally got all her new dentures but is having trouble getting used to wearing them.  Says they hurt but I think that will go away in time.  Dentist knows all about it.  Anyway, I have done all I can do about it so now I will just get out of the way.  The ball is in her court now.

New oxygen supply company is setting me up with new equipment to replace stuff from my old supplier who is going out of business.  New one is doctor recommended and sound really good so far.  Will no more next Monday.

Dinner out last night at the Sizzler.  Steak and salad bar was good with fried chicken wings too.  They used to be an inexpensive place but now they charge as much as any other place.  Only problem I had last night was that they brought my main course to the table before I even got back from the salad bar so just ate everything in reverse, i.e. Steak first and soup and salad last.

There may be a TCA meet tomorrow.  I have to check.

later,

Ray

Hello there,

An extra prayer for David Barker.........

Done frying fish, Had some wine and a hot tub soak. now online camper shopping. The count tonight was 740+/-. not quite as hectic as last week. They even fixed the fryer that would regularly drop down to 250 degrees before the burner would kick on. I found a camper I'm really interested in. The drawback is it's in Richmond Indiana. Mapquest says it's 6hr and 15 minutes. Maybe a road trip next weekend if we can get together on price???

Been really busy at work. The good thing is I think I landed  some work. That is a relief. A lot of the guys are running out of unemployment.

Where's Laz...........

Off to bed

Prayers for those in need

Good evening all,

Quiet day at work.  Got the new CTT today.  See where Lionel catalogs will be out Monday.  Somewhere the new track catalog was posted.   Finally got some switches listed for the G-gauge and S-gauge track.   Good idea.   Did 7.2 miles in 2 hours tonight.  Not bad, not terribly good for the mini.   Have to get better.  Grimm was good tonight.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Konbanwa,

The older son and I returned from our snowboarding trip about an hour ago.  We are tired and sore but we had a great time.  The bus ride was about three hours each way which wasn't too bad.  The resort was large and had some great slopes.  We stuck the beginner trails and didn't try anything too crazy.  I am feeling a little under-the-weather now so I need to go find the pillow.

Good morning all,

Cool cloudy day here.  I checked TCA but no train meet today.  Next one is April 5th.

Wound up the water exchange in my pool yesterday and added chlorine.  Should be OK for now.

V8 Dennis, sorry about your air gun.  New things are a dissapointment sometimes.

Got a lot of left overs in the fridge.  Have to get busy on those or throw them out.  Use them for lunches.  Wife and I might go out to eat with a friend tonight.

Business news says that Olive Garden and Red Lobster had a bad quarter last time.  We have an Olive garden nearby which does well but Red Lobster is too far away.  We used to have a fish and chips place nearby but they quit years ago.  I think the price of seafood has made those places unable to keep cost down and make a profit.

Got washing machine fixed yesterday.  It was a part that cost $19 but with labor the bill was $124. Ouch!

Wife is going crazy trying to get our tax info together before we visit the tax preparer.  Papers all over the house.  I help where I can but it's getting out of hand.  I think she is doing all the work for the tax people.  Should let them do more.

Have a good weekend,

Ray

Aloha. Grey and colder here today. Too bad for a Sat. Speaking of being broke, we visited a local country club that the powers-that-be preferred as the daughter's wedding venue and I signed on the dotted line. Good thing I have more than a year to figure out how to pay for it all. Smile

I'm planning some things to do for next week being spring break for most of the family (not me).

I'll look forward to wishing on the new Lionel catalog. They got some good publicity for their basic sets at teh recent Toy Fair in NY.

Afternoon all we had a TCA train show here in Columbia, SC the group says they have 2 a tear one in the spring and one in the fall. Wasn't bad at all I would say about 80 tables and 80% where O gauge 15 % S and the other 5% was either HO or n saw some Standard mixed in with O also. Got A ornamental bell for a 2037 for $ 1.50 and picked up a decent looking 6415 Sunoco triple dome tank car so That was my buys for the day saw a lot I liked but that's where my budget allowed lol For my first train show was very pleased. Actually bigger than I expected as it was being held in a Church hall.

Not much else going on right today Plan to goto to the flea-market for out weekly walk tomorrow

We hit 79 today suppose to be a high of 69 tomorrow then cool down for like 3 or 4 days ( highs in the mid 50's) then start coming back up again.

Hope all having a good weekend prayers for D.Barker and hope all is going best it can for him and prayers to all who need them.

Good Evening! Beautiful Day here today. It almost hit 70.

Things have been busy here. Our daughter Michele's Baby Shower is here next Sunday and Doray is keeping me busy. Today replaced the low voltage lights by the driveway with LED ones and prepped the hallway for painting. She finally picked out the beige she likes. The best part is that she suggested that next Sunday I go to the Greenberg Train Show in Edison, NJ with my son and Ray (AF53). The downside is that Doray went backwards a bit with her rehab for her double knee replacement and the Ortho Doc said that they might have to put her under and manipulate the right leg. OUCH!

Banks: Good luck with the camper!

Joe D: Sounds like you and your son had a great day together.

V8: Sorry the air gun screwed up on you.

SPMan: Hopefully your pool water is good for the season. Good luck with the taxes.

Doug M: Just Smile, Nod and Sign. That is all you can do. Been there!

RT: Nice score at the show. Good luck at the flea market tomorrow.

Chief: Yes a very nice day today. For us the last the weather guesser said is snow Tuesday! Now the temps are dropping!

Buckeye: Enjoy the show!

D. Barker: Prayers for a Complete Recovery.

Enjoy the Evening!

Good evening all,

It is a good day here.  Temps in the 50s but supposed to drop overnight.  Went to see the Veronica Mars movie.  That is a must see.  Kristen Bell is such a good actress, and the TV show the movie was based on was so good.  Did some shopping with wife.  Local high school boys basketball team going to state finals.I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

PS Doug M., been there done that....twice.  Good luck.

Konnichiwa and Ohayo Chuck,

Today I am definitely feeling the after effects of yesterday’s snowboarding excursion.  I am still a little under-the-weather so I passed on Sunday school and church; I don’t want to share my germs.  I have spent the day on the coach and relaxing.  I was able to watch a few innings of the LAA-ARI baseball game being played in Australia.  The Dodgers were way ahead.  Since Mercer upset Duke the other day I have given up on the NCAA tournament for this year.  It is also tough to keep up with it due to the time difference and missing most of the games being played live.  It is sunny and warm today so I am grilling some burgers for dinner.

Hudson John – I’m sorry to hear about Doray’s setback.  I hope they don’t have to manipulate the right leg and something else can be done.  Maybe you should take the lead on the baby shower for her. Smile, Wink & Grin

Joe

Good Morning! 42 and partly sunny.

Just chipping away on Doray's to do list. Nothing else going on.

Joe D: Doray won't sit down until she can't move. She went and worked in the Ice Cream Shop yesterday for a while. In fact she insists that I go to the Greenberg Show next weekend. First she said Sunday now she wants me to go Saturday. She figures I will be done with it all and I can help get ready for the shower and then leave with the dog. Mack is friendly and he likes attention.

DJ/Rich/Traindood: Maybe we can meet up at the Greenberg Show on Saturday.

Enjoy the Day!

Morning all.  Was sunny and warm.  Got out of Sunday School and it was windy, cloudy and chilly.  Temps dropping.  Suppose to rain.  Cooler tomorrow.

Chief: Yes a very nice day today. For us the last the weather guesser said is snow Tuesday! Now the temps are dropping!

John

Ours says wet snow with rain. Bang Head  Up and down.  Then back up and then down.  About time for spring.

Dennis, try getting on this forum.  http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/

Ask for help.  I have a person [got to find his info] that rebuilt my CO2 .22 air pistol.  Resealed and all for like $40 [including shipping back].  I think I found him on Gun Brokers forum.  Just asked question and someone gave me his number.  Called and shipped [to Maine].  Ask around.  Bet you have someone in CA.

Going with Oldest and her hubby to do walk thru in their new house.  Going to do final "punch list".  Great she is moving near to her work.  Also, close to us to "baby sit".  Bad in, "Daddy, can you come and fix?"  Hubby not much at doing such.  Already, "Will you install extra outlets in the garage?" Tongue Tied

Have a good week ahead.

Good Evening All, Well this weekend flew by once again. Yesterday took the kids to Target to get their Easter pictures. Before leaving got a Blu Ray DVD player, and new Sony sound bar. Next will be a new TV and Stand to complete the theater experience in our home. Than it was off to a friends for lunch and to see his new baby daughter Lacey. Good time had by all. Today was a great day as my Dad came over to work on the layout. We got a lot accomplished today as I now have 4 out of 6 switches hooked up to my Lionel CW80 transformer to supply the power and steal from my track power. Also got my MTH Passenger station lite as well. Next on the list is the other two switches and my MTH Pennsylvania switch tower, and hopefully to get my FasTrack screwed down and starting on some scenery. Hope everyone had a great weekend as well. Good night!! -Kevin

Hello all

Up late. Seems I tend to stay on the night schedule.

Don - a 1/48 B-29 is gonna be big. Like a 3' wingspan? Sounds like fun though

DougM - best of luck w/ upcoming events. I can't imagine all the stuff that comes w/ having kids. I can barely deal with myself somedays!

SPRay - a pool seems to be something you only do once...:) Still could be handy for model boats.

Konbanwa and Ohayo Chuck,

Based on today’s beautiful weather, I think it’s safe to say spring is here.  I was still pretty sore from the snowboarding trip so I passed on this morning’s run.   The workday was uneventful and we are relaxing at home this evening.

Kevin – It sounds like you’re making fantastic progress on the layout.  Are you taking photos of the progress?  Lacey is a great name; it’s my wife’s name.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Clear and very crisp Mid-Atlantic region today.  At least it got into the 60's Saturday, so I put the youngest princess on the business end of a paint roller at the yatchet.  All that is left to do is wax it, stripe it, then splash it. Pirate  Unfortunately, gonna have to perform some work on the cabin sole.  The ice did its worst there.  Oldest princess cooked meatloaf  for us last night, and we talked more about wedding venues.

Angel for all still on the mend.

Good morning all,

Trying to get breakfast started.  Had a not so good day yesterday with my G.I. problems stemming from my Crohns disease.  Hope for a better day today.

D. Barker, yes, please let us all know how you are doing.  We are concerned and send our prayers.

Time to order my expensive COPD medicine (Spiriva).  That's the one in the commercial with the elephant sitting on the patient.  Most expensive drug I get at around $300 per month and no generic available until 2027 they say.  They've got you by the you know what.

Might run some trains today if the spirit moves me.

Have a good one.

Afternoon Fellas

Well been a fun day at the office so far, and it just became more fun!

Spent a few minutes taking a look at the new 'Lionel Custom Toy Trains' catalogs. Very few items of interest and with what they are asking, my interest just got smaller. That is about all I will say...

I spent my childhood dreaming of owning Lionel trains and one of my goals as I got older was saving money so I could buy them. Well looks like I'm taking a 30 year step back in time. Very disappointed. And I apologize to all the fellas I said were making more out of this than was necessary. I honestly do not know who their target audience is any more... because it sure as heck is not the average family! I thought they were changing that mindset with the new LionChief stuff, but $429.99 for a starter engine???? How many average families have that kind of disposable income? I know my family doesn't and we earn good money. Glad I bought what I have while I could afford it!
