charliebrownRay - I have an American Flyer controller does that count?
Yes it does!
I think your off to a great start on your layout. And I do mean start. If your like most, it will grow and change over time. It's a great way to spend extra time you might have. Keep growing.

Home from the lake house. Only had to mow two yards. Neighbor who had bone marrow transplant mowed his own. Neighbor gone to SD, got back Saturday. Had his already mowed. Really got chilly but now back to normal weather. Lake is still in parking lot. Corps have screwed this one up [as usual]. Held it high and then we got lots of rain.
Sirius Radio, never had a problem. I do go for the lifetime subscription. Big investment up front. If you keep a vehicle for 5 years [which we usually do], it pays for its self. Then I can sell it with lifetime Sirius too. I love it as I get my fulltime Bluegrass and Country. Also get it on computer. Wife gets it at her work on her computer. All off one subscription. This is anywhere I go with laptop too.
Chat later.

charliebrown Lehigh Valley 2089 Morning, and happy Memorial Day. Got PHEAA info this week, and I'm getting a little more from them than I did FAFSA. To be exact, almost $1700 MORE per semester! Real happy about that. Congrats ... Seems getting funds for schooling is getting harder and harder Also checked to see what I got on my Trig final, and got a 97 on that! That's awesome! Way to go! The 109 is also completely done (don't have photo bucket, so I can't share any photos of it), and starting work on the 38 again by spraying on a new coat of aluminum paint. Will start the Mustang when the 38 is getting decals. You should set up with Photobucket. It only takes a sec and I would like to see the pics of your work.

Hello all
Long day between the French television crew and the director, plus trying to finish up projects and get out of here.
Did I mention I was up to 2AM last night fixing the telescope?
Time to pack up and head home.
Happy Memorial Day! Thanks to those who fought and those who gave all.

Chief, ha ha ha.
Good evening.
Got plenty done. Mainly with the P-38. It's looking really good right now. It has some major body issues, but just add a flashy paint scheme and *BAM!*, man does it make a difference.
Got parts for P-51D washed. Will possibly start building it in a few days

Well a nice day on the North Bluff, The rain never came but my 1615 died, again. Nothing a new E-unit , brushes, and re-wire will not fix. I hope. Must be something to do with the AZ weather.
Have a good night. I hope I can kill some vermin again tonight. Settles me down. That raccoon last night was a family in one shot. She was a big one.

Mustang parts are now drying and hope to start building sometime this week or during the weekend.
Night everyone.
Good evening all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s. Got up early for me on a day off and mowed the yard. Took the "Saucy Wench" to Fazzoli's for a nice leisurely meal and then to an antique shop where I scored a copy of the Iron Horse Vicker's Collection book. Wife got some mixing bowls she wanted. Came home and did some tree work before watching a wonderful Victory Dinner. May be the only race in the world that honors the drivers in that fashion. One of those truly wonderful days to be alive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Cops were kinda busy out here yesterday. No, nothing to do with the problem I had. They were chasing after a green Chevy truck, three occupants in said truck. The driver made the mistake of turning down Vernon Park road which is a long twisty dead end and then he complicated his mistake by turning onto the loop I'm on. One way in, one way out! Cop cars came around the loop in both directions while another blocked the one and only exit. The folks in the truck couldn't go anywhere unless they went into the lake and the apparently wasn't in their game plan. They were captured almost in my back yard. As far as I've been able to determine drugs may have been involved. That seems to be a problem everywhere today unless you live under a rock at the bottom of the sea.Well I got all the bugs worked out of the F unit trio and changed the third unit from an F7A to an F3B with a simple change of body shells. So there are now two F3B's, both with Varney shells. The second shell however is plastic. Maybe someday I'll get a second Varney metal F3B shell. That extra weight would give the trio even more pulling power, as if it needs it. It can already pull more cars than the layout can support.Other than working on the F units it's been an uneventful day here. Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Good Mornin' Y'all From Crystal Clear And Warming Taxachusetts,
70 degrees on tap again today with high 80s and perhaps we'll touch 90 later in the week, first time since August 31 of last year. One of the window a/c units my son installed this past week is DOI (dead on installation, fan motor is binding) and will have to be replaced today with a new one.
The wifey and I had 22 over for a cookout yesterday (family and friends), including what seemed to be a dozen children...... We kept the little ones outside for the most part, hid the remotes just in case, and my daughter showed up with soccer balls and kites. The affair started at 1PM and the last of the gaggle went home around 9. I was out of gas at that point so I left some of the cleanup until today.
Hope everyone ate and drank too much yesterday!!!!
Jack
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Good morning.
More work on the P-38 today. Coming along real well. Will head to the LHS later today and possibly pick up a few things. Going on a senior cruise at the finger lakes today, and it might be a late night.
Good Morning

Seems most of the rain went over the top of us and on to BOC. I think they have rain on the menu all week.
Not much on the plate today.
I did win a 12 piece lot on the bay yesterday that will fill out my MPC # 1184 train set. I needed the ATSF log car and the transformer and both were in the lot.
Chief, nice hat. I have seen old # 7, nice 1880s engine.

Aloha. Grey and warming up. I managed to burn yesterday's supper on the grill. I think I had everything too hot - I am a horrible BBQer. Might storm later. I'll be thinking it is Monday all day. Nice win Kev

We have a rainy 55, going to 70s today. Well so they say. My train friend called from the airport, he and his wife are on their way to Hawaii. A beautiful place but such a long ride. Splitting the ride somewhere out west was better than the long direct flight. At least we thought it was. An appointment with a foot doctor and hopefully a nap after will be my day..S.J.
I was fortunate to go to Oahu once. It was sure a long direct flight - though not as long as Hong Kong - that one was 27 hours... in coach.... with small children... good thing I was young back then.

Looking around online this morning and found a Varney F3B dummy unit. I think it's metal. There's some hard looking flash in the steps and some corrosion streaks on the body that make me think so. The owner wasn't wanting much for it so I grabbed it. Good use for a little $ I had laying around. Looks like it'll be here Saturday. Made bank deposit to cover. If it turns out to be plastic I can still use it.
Rainy here in Central Jersey
THANK YOU to our Vets....
Yesterday was picture postcard beautiful. Up early for our local parade and then off to neighboring Cranbury for a riding parade. Was a long day....tired.

That would be hard Doug,
When I went to Shanghai China in 2008 the flight was 15 hr direct from Chicago and that was bad even in Business class. The round trip ticket was $10K
The talking heads on the noon news are all over the new IL Right to carry law being worked on. Not one word from the Chicago media for it. Just tons of coverage against it.

Ray Yes, blonde!!! You are like the blonde who had new energy windows installed. Finance company called her and wanted to know why she had not paid for them. "You said they would pay for themselves in 10 years." ??
Finished off the Tony Roma ribs yesterday for lunch but still have one rack not unwrapped yet in case I have another rib attack. #2 son took us out to dinner last night. We all had Italian grilled Cod. It was great! Don't ask me what the difference is between Italian grilled or just plain grilled. Must depend on the ancestry of the cook.
BTW, is Blonde Dagwood's wife? Didn't know that comic strip was still around. I'll have to start reading the funnies again.
Doug Murphy, I remember your Honolulu trip. Is that the time you stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki? Seems like it was not that long ago. That's my favorite hotel over there.
