Dougnotta & Kev =
RJ - Them Jeeps take a lickin'...glad you are 10-4!!
Brent - Me LIKE!!! I agree, that would hold most of us on the visits!!
Ryan - Just go for it....
In Florida, there is NO inspection, cats off, no problem, unless your are stopped by state DOT....and yeah, there were some strange vehicles out there....but horsepower? Oh, yeah...
Apparently my membership in the funeral per month club continues. One of our past members (he's like 60), moved to Florida months after I moved back. Diagnosed with lung cancer that traveled to his brain...they give him 1-2 weeks. Services will be up here...
Sunny today, but the good news is that I packed hose last night with no ill affects ... progress continues. Therapy advises I go see a movie.....looking up is therapy ..... Star Trek at 12:30!!
Got my springs for the Reliant now to install, maybe on Sunday.
My brother is home from Afghanistan as my SIL got her Masters on Wednesday so a party/visitation on Saturday.
May add striping to my N5c caboose, the black is a little too......black. Have to go to the craft store for printable decal paper.
See ya later!

Thanks guys, Lexi is a trooper. I always tell her to get up and shake it off. Katie said that didn't work this time. The daughter Katie said Lexi was on this wall climb that went up to a slide and another girl was trying to get Lexi to clime up the big kid side. So when Katie turned around from watching the ball game she was way up on the big side and she ran over there and could do nothing but watch Lexi fall over 7 feet. Like SJ said I think Katie is more upset than Lexi. No more info yet on the plan of action, They may have to let her heal a few days before doing anything else. Katie said she is not sleeping very well and the bruising is getting worse. We shall see what they say. To top it off tomorrow is the baby shower for the up-coming grandson. Here are some pictures from the ER last night.

Well why put off til later what can be done now. Below are samples of the labels I was talking about in my earlier post. On the right are two samples of those that I cut out yesterday and on the left are two samples of those I'm cutting out today. They don't seem to be so small until you compare to the Kadee coupler box cover on the left.
We have 57 degrees with sun this morning.
Kevin prayers for your grand daughter, Not a fun experience for us adults either. Grandson broke his arm while in granny's care and she was more upset than the patient. Today will be grass cutting and a trip to the nursery for some veggie plants and flowers....S.J.

Aloha from a sunny and cooler northeastern Illinois. Praying right now for Katie, DougDG, Jake and Alexis. Glad I caught the TARDIS last night. Speaking of cars, I just noticed all my vehicle stickers never came in even after I paid the annual registration renewal fees. I have all my paperwork so I guess this means a trip to one of the drivers facilities to figure out what happened.

Morning all!
KEV - for your grandaughter and quick healing!
Had a little rain this morning. We got nearly 2 in from the storms Wed night. 10-12 tornados hit south and SW of Dallas. Some homes completely stripped from their foundations. Not even the toe boards are left.
Looks like our beautiful spring is over - 90's this weekend.
Have a great day all!
Regards, Roy
Good morning. Temp 73°, humidity 93%, mostly cloudy, partly cloudy later. High 85°.First order of business on the layout this morning was to get my rebuilt C420 (Lima, Stewart, Athearn, Life-Like) speed matched with my GP9's. That took about fifteen minutes. Longest part of the process is moving the loco from the program track to the main and vice versa and making the entries for the CV's. Got it done and it no longer tries to leave the GP9's in the dust. I have more 'KEEP OFF!' labels to cut out. These are somewhat larger than the ones I cut out yesterday and there's not as many. Those yesterday are 7/16" by 3/32". These are 9/16" by 2/16". That doesn't seem like much but it's a very visible size difference. Later I'll see if I can get a photo of the two side by side. I have no other plans for today.
KRM We got one of those late night calls last night you hate to get. The daughter was in tears. Seems the 2 yr old was playing on a gym set in the evening when she lost her balance and fell off. First call from the ER had her with a broken arm. Second call at 11:30 PM had them waiting for a specialist to show up to reconstruct her elbow that is also broken. Need to fine out more. Have a good day. P.S. Just got a call from Katie They got home at 2:00am. They did not do the reconstruct last night just a temp job, They are going today for the surgery to repair the elbow.

John, I agree 100% that its more than a fair price
Its the fact that reaching up the rear end for money is drying up.........
I lived in Ohio for a few years. yep theres some scary cars on the road there,,, driving around with no hoods or doors, just crazey
Good Morning, 67 and BEAUTIFUL here today.
Not much interesting stuff going on here. Today Doray and I are doing our Friday thing. Today it will be a trip to a few of the Antique Shops, lunch and a trip to a winery.
Kev: Prayers for your Granddaughter. May she have a quick and full recovery.
DougDG: Prayers for your daughter's MIL and Buck.
SPMan, Ray: I hope all goes well for your wife at the Doctor's today.
Mike: Congrats on the soccer game.
Ryan: $1000 seems very reasonable for the work on the truck. NJ only tests for emissions now. Safety Inspections, FORGET ABOUT IT! They are tightening up on diesel inspections. I understand the window for self inspection on light / medium duty diesel trucks is about to close.
RJ; The damage to the Jeep is not that bad. Good luck with it.
SJ: Glad the "Plumber" did not find any problems.
Brent: Good luck with the house.
Jeffrey: I had to laugh about the horse and the bull. I first thought where was he driving? Then when you explained it all came together. I thought of the movie Cars when Matter and Speed McQueen were driving in the pastures messing with the cows. You weren't cow tipping also!
Have a Great Day!
John
Kev, i know young kids and broken bones are scary. with her age and medical technologies, it will be like it never happened. I shattered my right elbow 12 years ago, and was told to prepare to learn to use my left hand. They did a full replacement, and other than its a tad "crooked" i dont notice it, untill its gona rain or snow. I know before the weatherman does.
Kev: Hope things turn out well for the two year old. Broken bones ain't no picnic.
Good Morning
Sunny with a high of 66F projected.....we'll see it get warmer....
Not much happening today...we still be cleaning 'The Lost Cause'...
Kev: hope things turn out well for her...
Have a good day!!

Ryan - well with what you are getting done and the discount I would think that would be a pretty good deal. As much as I complained about the PA inspections when I lived there, I am missing them here. You see too many non-road-worthy vehicles around here and with all the traffic it can get worrisome! OH isn't much better when it comes to quality road-worthy vehicles.RJ - That looks like a nice Wrangler you got there! I'm thinking a 4 inch lift kit and some 35 Mikey Thompsons with a brush guard and whinch bumper would look pretty nice and maybe a 4 light PIA rollbar... man I just need to break down and buy one!!!!!Doug - for your daughter, SiL, they family and your friend and his family. Never easy.Yeah that basement is cavernous. I have seen the floorplan and when reviewing it with TheQ she told me how much I could have for the trainroom - I think it was about 20 x 30 for the room and another 6 x 10 for storage... if do build a house that size with our requirements for space I will probably end up above the garage... which will be about double that space. Just have to get the house in Pittsburgh sold and then save for a couple years for the down payment and construction hold $$$. We are hoping to break ground before I turn 50!
Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....
It is a gloomy 60 degrees. Going up to 78 today with a chance of rain.
Today is an easy day. I have a few chores to do and a small project to work on. Lunch and a nice nap, this afternoon. Baseball game tonite.

Y'all have a great Friday.

Good morning.
Had a good time on that trip. Feeling tired this morning, however. But there's a few things going on that have my concern. Upset stomach, headache, sore legs, and slightly hard to breath. Have allergies, so they may be the cause of some of the symptoms, with the others from being tired.

RJ, I miss my Jeep. Those were fun days
PA inspections are a PIA. I am exempt from emision as the truck is a diesel.
What I should have done was have the front end looked at BEFORE i did the cosmetic work. It now pulls HARD to the right and the mechanic said the ball joints are "pulled" out on one side, A arm is smashed, and tie rods are bent. so it really is a safety issue here. I have known the mechanic since High School. the 1K figure is parts at cost and minimal Labor. It also includes new rear breaks and rotors.
I also understand that he has to watch what he does, as I think PA ispections and associated repairs make up 75% OF ANY SMALL GARAGES business. so he cant jepordise his inspection license.
looks like its gonna be a nice day today. Gota goto Wally World tonight
Evening all,

Back from more traveling (Wash DC) this past week.
Doug M - belated
Ryan - sorry about the repairs. Hope it works out cheaper.
Have a great day tomorrow all!
charliebrownJeffrey sorry but I had to laugh a little at your comment .... a horse and a bull. Wow! Can't believe the vehicle could even move after hitting the bull.
*
I got new horns mounted on quite a few locos today. I put the FP7's back on the display rack and brought out the GP9's. They should get a good run tomorrow. Sometime tomorrow I'll bring out my rebuilt C420 and see if I can speed match it to the GP9's. It has a DZ125 so that should be a snap.Time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
Thanks for the comments on the deer hit. Here is a shot of the passenger fender which took most of the damage.
Apparently it needs pass fender replaced, grille replaced, bumper replaced, driver fender repaired, hood repaired, cowl repair, and passenger side lower cowl repaired.
It actually tracks fairly straight for the hit it took. No track time today. All day spent with work and insurance people. Found out my insurer only uses OEM sheet metal. So repair will be costly but with good parts.
Jeffrey sorry but I had to laugh a little at your comment .... a horse and a bull. Wow! Can't believe the vehicle could even move after hitting the bull.
Grump sorry about the loss. Praying for the family
Hope everyone has a good night.
Btw --- I don't care what anyone says there is a group of great guys on this here pot and I have learned a ton. I look forward to my progress in the hobby and our continued camaraderie.
Keep it hobby simple
Partly cloudy and about 80 today.
I've seen some interesting airplanes since moving near Whiteman AFB. Today's sighting was a large four engine jet with three or four fighters flying close formation on it. With the quick glance I got, I'm pretty sure the large plane was not a B52. Probably was a tanker or a cargo plane. The whole flight disappeared into a cloud before I got a really good look at it. Do the Thunderbirds or Blue Angels travel with a cargo plane?
As far as a guest house goes, my wife and I are thinking along the lines of a pup tent. We are having many discussions about what we really want to build there. We kind of like the idea of a dog trot house.
All for now.
Good evening all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s. Quiet day at work. Played in the first adult league game sanctioned by our local youth soccer group. Never thought I would see this day. It was a small gathering of 5 v 5, but nobody got hurt and a good time was had by all. I got a goal and did well in my stint as keeper and probably sweated at 5 to 10 pounds off. Connor Daly smacked the wall today in AJ's second car, but Sato was 10th quick as only a second separated 1st and 30th. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Dougnotagrump, prayers for your daughter's MIL.
Another day of doctor appointments for the wife and chauffer work for me driving her.
#1 son's refrigerator broke down last night. They are bringing over some frozen food for me to store until new fridge arrives on Saturday.
later, Ray
SPMan
Doug DG,
So sorry to hear of the loss. Down side of age. Hang in there.
Jeffery, BTW thanks for the kind words. I hate the pigeon hole, but know it well.
Later guys.
It is now 78, 81 was the high. Snow is almost gone.
Grump I know how you must feel, a few years back we had 6 deaths in 5 months. Here's hoping things will turn out better for you. Not much done this PM I guess I just goofed it away. Maybe spend some time on the front porch before sunset. Banilla will be waiting...S.J.
Howdy All.
Jeffrey, Pinto beans & Jalapenos, no open flames for the next couple days.
Brent, Did you see the size of that basement in that property listing, wow.
Need to ask you guys for some prayers. My daughter's M-I-L, Bern M., passed away Tuesday nite, it appears that her second stroke was worse than the one that she was recovering from. 82 years young, not sure how Matt will handle her loss since they had been married well over 50 yrs. Another prayer needed for a long time friend, Buck a WW2 vet, whose heart is in really bad shape and earlier this week tests gave him about a 10% ejection factor.
Kind of a bad April & May around here, don't really feel in the mood to go to the museum but got a meeting tonite and committed to run tomorrow, maybe it will help take the mind off of things.
Thanks.
Later all.
