Not much to report this week.

Chuck, happy birthday!  It's May 10th now where I live.Happy B-DayGiftCake

Dennis, I hate Pit Bulls too.  Got bit once by one owned by a friend of mine.  He was having us feed the dog treats to try to get him to trust us.  It may have been my fault since I moved the treat too quickly and he snapped at it and got me instead of the dog bisquit.  However, I will never fool with another one-- not ever!!! Sorry Jack.  The dog died of natural causes since then but now my friend has another one.  I won't go to his house as long as that dog is there.  I love hound dogs, beagles and cocker spaniels.  They will love you to death.

later,

Ray

sir james I

The temp is 63 and very cloudy. Lots of rain overnight. The usual price for a bag of original coal is $10.00. I have been trying to find some for my 397 belt coal loader but not at 10. The new plastic stuff won't work in that loader, too light. Granny is a-fussin trying to get everything ready for the train club tomorrow night. I still have some things to do as well..TGIF for you working folk. ...S.J.

I'd rather be younger and working than old and retired. You don't realize that till you get here.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHUCK Cake

SJ,

I've been using Hampton Hobby coal (even comes in a bag that looks very similar to the old 206 bag), and it is heavier than the chinese plastic stuff.  It doesn't get under the belt and jam like the chinese stuff either.  I think it came from Stan Orr Train Parts.

Chuck,

             Happy B-Day

Dennis,

Good call on carrying the pipe.  I'd do the same, but it wouldn't be because of the dogs...

Rock Island, I made through Trig 1 but just couldnt grasp Trig 2 or beyond.  I asked the professor at what time in my life do I need to know this stuff?  he could answer the question.

At that point I decided College Wasn't for me. and out the door I went

ANJDEVIL, theres a scrap yard near me that is run by the owners daughters. NICE!!

I used to have a bunch of 30 ish year old girls working at my yard, they really brought the customers in.

But things got a "Tad out of Hand" so to speak.

got a birthday party to attend tomorrow, we had the "pre party" last night

Ryan

Ryan,

That would definitely bring me in.Surprise  The yards around here need to take that approach.

I am with you guys who hate Pit Bulls. Our neighbor has one that is on the loose all of the time and harass everyone. No shots, no tags and no training. Those dogs are natural killers. These people can't raise kids let alone dogs. One day it will not come home..Dead. Last week as I fixed her mower again, she told me this. " Oh I love my kids but,,, they are just bad kids" Hmm So I guess that sums it up. Super Angry

Well I am ready to try to remove the tunnel structure from the table to apply the plaster cloth. I hope it don't fall apart. It was kind of tricky to build because it is on a curve and an incline.

Time for a  Beer Whistling

Here it is.

Cross bracing so it does not loose it's form when un-stapled from the table and lifted off.

Chuck - Happy Birthday!!Happy B-Day

Kev - Tunnel is looking good. Good idea to add the bracing. Good luck on lifting and covering.

Headed down to finally work on layout. The only thing I accomplished last night on it was repairing two sections of track but at least that is something.

Hope to check in later but if not have a great night. We be cold here. in the 40's and supposed to be in the 30's ....Angry

The temp dropped from 77 to 48 in about 30 minutes this afternoon. That's where it is now. Kev e-mail me about the coal, shipping may cost almost as much as the $10.00 bag Thank you for the offer. Redfire thanks for the tip, I will check it out. Chuck hope you had a great Birthday.  The butter pecan ice cream granny just handed me will not help me on the scale in the morning but it's good. Banilla is ready for the thingy crew...S.J.

Hello all,

TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been a hectic week,

Pitt Bulls are much like dobermans. They get a bad rap. It's all in how they're raised.

While looking for a Doberman puppy Mrs found a 5 yo Male Dobe free to a good home. Although very skeptical we went to check it out. We found a down on their luck couple that lost their home. The rental they are living in said pets permitted. But......... after they moved in they were advised that certain breeds,Dobes included, are prohibited by the insurance co. They can't afford to move again so........ Raven is a very loving well behaved dog that's been in our home since Monday. He even knows a few tricks.I felt really bad for them having to give up their dog. So far things couldn't be better.

RI Jack......sent you another PM

Brutus & Char.........Angel

Chuck.....Happy B-Day

Where's Laz & Demay

RE......SHEETZ. They originated in Altoona in the 60's. Originally they were competition to all the Mom & Pop corner grocery stores that seemed to be on every other corner in Altoona. Then they started selling Gas, Coffee & twinkies. Next they added hot dogs and the rest as they say is history. No groceries in sight now and all the corner stores are gone. I must admit I don't eat there often but the food is usually pretty good.

We had some nasty storms pass through earlier this evening. Cooled off about 20 degrees. We sure have had some weird weather this spring.

Train? what's a Train?

I'll be studying for a colonoscopy on Sunday. I'll try to get back then.

Well I think I'll head to bed.

Prayers for those in need.

Happy Birthday, Chuck!! CakeHappy B-DayBow

Not much going on, PT was good, out of work for another 2 weeks, Therapy next 2 Wednesdays.  Been out of it this afternoon, not sure why........After diligent shopping, looks like I'll be purchasing a new rear spring set...$48 + NJ Tax.  Will also be replacing all the rear bulbs, one is intermittently out.

May not get to GCT tomorrow, depends how I feel, especially if I go at 0900 tomorrow.  Its a 10 block walk from Penn to GCT, will have to check the weather as well.  I travel light, no back packs allowed in the GCT show area.

Prayers for Brutus's bunch.....Angel

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.  Kevin passed his test so he will pass this semester.  He has to do Summer school for the prior math semester, though.  I know I didn't always do the best or "my best" when I was a kid in school, but he is so smart it is making me a little crazy.  Char worked part of the day today, but she is worn out.  Chemo apparently damages your lungs and she just is having a heck of a time kicking this thing.  We did go out to eat at Noodles tonight.  Just watched a show called Secrets of the Dead about death s on the Philly to Pitts RR back in the 1830s.  It was really a great show - highly recommended.  It was on PBS and they have a website you can check out:  http://www.pbs.org/wnet/secrets/

TARDIS is ready - let's go!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good evening all,

It has been rainy most of the day in SE Indiana.  Went to see The Great Gatsby and Ironman 3.  Both were good.  Reffing 2 games Saturday.  Got LRRC newsletter today.  Good issue.  May have fried Toro engine mowing yard today.  Will check it out tomorrow.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Hello all

Back on the mountain for a few days. I have to play tour guide to a French television crew tomorrow. Plus I'm up here to keep an eye on the new operators and the guest receiver group that is on site. Will have to be up next weekend as well to oversee the removal of said instrument.

Got rained on a bit on the way out. Very beautiful evening here in SE Arizona.

Time to check on a few things.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Stormy in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Will be traveling to WV to retrieve Fifepup.  Lots o' work to be done.  Angel my MonteCarlo makes the trip successfully.  Wifey still lobbying hard for "her" TraverseDots - Sign  Did I mention she doesn't drive...?

Spent yesterday moving middle princess back home from college.  We had a wonderful waterfront dinner in Northeast, MD.  Littlest princess was happy to see her old roommate...until all her stuff filled their room.  I think she's already circled her 1st day of fall semester on the calendar.

Well wishes continued for anjdevil, Brutus, Banks, Jeff and anyone else in need (sorry, had to skim through last week of posts).

Blueberry - Here's to seeing 72. Beer

Today is an easy day. I have a few chores to do and a small project to finish. Then, I can relax and have lunch and a nice nap.

Indians got beat bad by the Tigers last night. I hope they can win tonite. Tigers are a tough team.

Nascar race from Darlington tonite.

Dining car has rolled in with Cheerios for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Mornin' Guys!

Geez, up early, T-storms rolled through through about midnight, looks wet and rainy.  NYC trip on hold until tomorrow (maybe).  Not feeling the 10 block walk in the rain.  I'll do my therapy as perscribed.

I "heard" a text come through, but was pretty unconscious to look at it...a female "friend" sometimes texts me in the wee hours...it was my Princess...apparently she wants to move back...details soon....and that's why I'm up, I guess, just worried....She'll wake up and call me.

Fife - You wanna go to Darlington...I've been to the track (not a race), the museum and the drag strip.  Make the call .... ROAD TRIP!!  Just off 95, it's a straight shot.  About 10 hours.  Maybe Dodge will be back by then.

Off to see what the day has to offer....glad I didn't wash my car yesterday...Smile, Wink & Grin

Looks like everybody is waking up. Sleep

Partly cloudy and very cool at 48 degrees on the North Bluff.

I will be going to see my friend Blaze today he will have surgery on Monday for the colon cancer. Please pray for him he is having a bad fight. Also I saw my friend Randy who has been fighting skin cancer and now it has moved into his pancreas Sad He is very depressed as I can understand, He also needs your prayers.

After we leave Blaze's we will head to Indiana to see Bud who is fighting back problems at 79 years old  but fairing well. Then back home late this afternoon in time for the NASCAR race and maybe work on the tunnel.

Nice chat on the Tardis last night with SJ and Brutus. It had been a long time. Smile

Prayers for all in need, Angel

Good morning. It's 64° with 100% humidity. It'll be cloudy with a fair chance of rain. The high will be 82°.

These three words, gadulida ale osdá are the words for today. The word gadulida means 'damp', 'moist'. The word 'ale' means 'and, or'. Today I'm using it as 'and'. The word 'osdá' can mean 'good', 'just' or 'nice'. Today I'm using it as 'nice'. So the sentence is damp and nice. That pretty much describes what it's like here today. I think from now on I'll limit these lessons to just one word unless of course you like these little lessons and want more. One word can have several meanings and be used many different ways. This is true of virtually any language.

I think today I should commit some of my time to cleaning up some of the layout. It's looking like a tornado hit it. There's tools, cars, loco bodies and bit and pieces scattered all over and it's getting hard to find things.

Good morning

Rain rain rain and more rain

I survived Wally World last night.   that place is the Arm Pit of America.  Its not so much the store, its the people that are shopping there.   I know its not right to judge some one by how they look, or the fact that they weigh  700 pounds and hang off the electric scooter three feet on both sides......

Good lord people, get it together...........  I know that I am nothing special, but at least I can hold it together long enough to get through wallmart.

We didnt always have a wallmart near here, untill about 10 years ago.  I can't figure out where these people shopped before wallmart, cause you didnt see them at the other stores.   Its like they came with wallmart,  The place just disgusts me.

(you can tell, I never really did any grocery shopping unitll now)

onto some more positive things, now that in residing in the office (apartment still isnt done) my ferocious WAREHOUSE cat, seems to have switched sides and is now a Domesticated House Cat that lays on the sofa day and night.

We tried to get my trains out of the house today, but all the help I had, we all have open bed pick up trucks and its raining pretty good.   we did get some stuff, but not much.

My clerks husband is turning 60 today, so big party up there.  they live right next to my ware house, so its a quick walk and he likes his Beer  even after the pre party on thursday, there was 8 thirty packs left.  and i dont think too many people are coming today.

time for a shower as the party starts at 12.00

Aloha. Grey and really cool. Looks like rain. SJ, I have a bag of glossy aquarium gravel that is just perfect coal. It was inexpensive and works well. Praying for Char, Rich, Brutus's FiL and the rest.

I had a full day yesterday. Left at 6:30 am to beat the Chicago traffic to bring the middle boy to his summer job at Cedar Point amusement park in Ohio. He had to check in by 3:20 pm local time. Didn't beat the traffic but we made it in time, even after having to return once to pick some some things he'd forgotten. Big Smile

I enjoyed a nice leisurely 6 hour drive home listening to various baseball games and interesting local radio stations - especially on AM. The bride has a lot of work for me to do today - probably inside since it looks like rain.
