BOC, what is with that??? George our cat is like the headbunter around here but only if he likes someone?
You know your cool with him if he does that. He don't come close to most people and it took him years to headbunt my wife but he had no problem with the guy down the lane. They are strange things those cats.

Well, we got rained on, we got winded on, even hailed on...we are now drenched...and, our wetland is back.

Grayson, good to hear from you again! My bet is that your "social life" got in the way!!! Last we heard, you were quite busy with school, no? Don't be a stranger.

Hi guys and gals,
We are back from the birthday party and have a bit less $$$$ than before. Feel like RIJack. Great weather!
It was a great time for all and ended with a nice water balloon fight. I did well got more kids than got me.
A lot of no shows so a lot of wasted food and other stuff. #1, my son was one of the no shows. His wife = Chief SIL.
And would you know it my e-mail in box has a ton of stuff for me to look at so I will check back when I catch up.
DougM I sent you an e-mail yo may want to look at.
Hey everyone,
Not feeling any better today. In fact, my cold might be a little worse. And I'm feeling a little fatigued.
HOWEVER, there were actually moments today in which I could breath! But this isn't one of them.......

It's 69 degrees, much cooler than it has been. A sad sign of things to come. I can sum up today real fast. Football, meatloaf, nap, football. I only had one plate of food but I'm not sure if there's room for Banilla tonight. I will wait up for the thingy though...S.J.

Work went pretty smooth today. We got done what we had to and the guys were a bit beat. Now to see what this storm brings.
Now to take the wife out to dinner and try to stsy awake for the Tardis.
If it rains all day tomorrow it is time to start cleaning and lubing the locos. AF53, Ray, watch me, take 1 out at a time and put it away when done. Out of sight out of mind.

submmbobJeffrey - actually thought of you yesterday while I was walking around. Your feet are kinda necessary for getting around so it's hard to stay off of them.

KRM - I got your PM and replied, replied, replied.
Probe - I am using undluted Simple Green. Maybe I am not allowing enough time for it to work. An over night soak of the 205 MoPac blue shell resulted in paint that rinsed off with water.
An overninght soak of the 225 B&O blue shell resulted in paint that was faded to gray, but still on the shell. The remaining paint was soft and could be scraped off with a fingernail.
All for now.
Hello all
Feet seem better after being off of them a bit. Didn't sleep too well last night though.
Jeffrey - actually thought of you yesterday while I was walking around. Your feet are kinda necessary for getting around so it's hard to stay off of them. Like the jeep towing the airstream BTW. Used to tow a 38 ft park model and even with a full size truck that got a little squirrelly at times.
Ran the diesels again last night. Really like the beep and the RDC. Was looking at the beep and was thinking I could prob do a convincing job of turning one into a Magma RS Alco. Not this one though, I really like the SP bloody nose & grey paint scheme. Miss seeing it on the old SP rails here.
Time to grab a shower, head to a meeting, and work in the garage.

Hudson#685Jeffrey, Did you and your Dad give any thought to purchasing a used tractor on Craigslist or any listing as such. This way you can get a bigger machine that was built before the reverse safety was mandatory. Also check local dealers for trade ins that they want to move off the lot quick or if they know of anyone who just bought a new machine and they are looking to sell the old one. Just a thought.
Went out to dinner last night. Ordered hamburger steak with oinions and mushrooms. Since it was ground meat, I decided to get it well done. It was! Think shoe leather. Anyway it tasted OK.
TTOS train meet tomorrow so will go to vigil mass tonight. Almost had a conflict of interest for that because of a dinner party we decided to forego. Also a commercial meet in Orange County mentioned by D.Baker but I will not go to that one.
No plans for today so far.
Later, Ray

Mornin' Dudes & Dudettes.
Good day at the museum yesterday, some minor issues but nothing major. Sure could tell it was back to school time, relatively small attendance yesterday.
Chuck, Be sure to get rid of the pizza boxes and burger wrappers before the CEO returns.
The better half wore me down, looks like we will be getting rid of the front lawn. Replacing almost everything with some "Almost No Maint." hardscape. Any time I would even start to head out to do any yardwork she would read me the riot act and remind me of my limitations.
Still relying on AC to survive, dang the electric bill full speed ahead ! Got last month's bill and it came in less than expected. Still been running 100*+.
Gotta run, honey do's abound.
Later all.

Lunchtime:
Working this Saturday, plenty of work but short on people. Some heavy downpours earlier with real heavy weather on the way.
Thank you for the prayers for Mom. She is waiting for the results from her tests and she meets with her surgeon on Tuesday.
Finally got caught up with the Pot. I have been very busy and coming home dead to the world.
Submmbob: I love sunrises and sunsets, especially form my boat on the bay.
RIJack: I agree with you about exercise equipment or should we say expensive clothes hangers.
Anjdevil, Rich, let me get this straight, a mechanic rents a car so that it will be dependable to get to a job interview. I just could not resist the bust.
LV2089, I have a complete mix of Pre-war, Post-war and Modern Era that I run together. I run Lionel, MTH, K-Line, Atlas O and Williams. I run what I like and I enjoy them. I have a WBB NW-2 that runs great.

Laz: 83 Days to go and I will shortly after join you for that
AF53, Ray, a package is at my house for you.
Anyone hear from Traindood?
Everyone have a Great Day!
A little point of comedy. Like the ant that moved the rubber tree plant I think there's high hopes at play here!
Aloha. A gorgeous fall day here in northeastern Illinois. 60 degrees. Sunny. Leaves falling. Gotta get out in it before church. Don, my daughter is still working at Cedar Point. She'll be there on weekends through the end of next month. I loved riding their steam train when I visited over the summer. Joe, that's a fine looking engine - a credit to the previous owner. Great chat with Kev, RT, Joe, SJ and Brutus last night. Signed up for a British railway modeling forum late last night too. Those guys are sure serious about modeling!

Mornin' boys. Stop-and-go . Fifepup out mowing the back 40 (feet) during the stop. Grocery shopping with wifey later, than watch NASCAR race (maybe, again ). May even start superstructure for the new benchwork. Sailing tomorrow afternoon .
I too miss the J, they are going modern on us.
It's a sunny 59 this morning. Rain overnight but no storm. Two real BLTs for breakfast will last me till tonight's meat loaf. It is hamburger but I love it. Granny is canning some excess tomatoes from the garden and I will get ready to watch the Buckeyes. . . S.J.
Hi GUYZ,
Humid here at 72 with humidity at 88%. I gotta go run a 5k at 10 AM here with wife and MINNIE dog. Its a race in the woods with people and dogs at The NED SMITH Center. So should be fun. Then Gun show this afternoon.
DOUG M, Nice video but WHERE's DA BEER CAR. Ya think they'd have it at the table? Speaking of which I watched MAN CAVEs on DIY and they made a nice TRAIN ROOM for a guy and his kido. Even had a train deliver beer to the guy at the layout from the tap.
CHUCK, Having talked with JOE MADDON ( manager of TB RAYS)over Christmas and he saw me wearing my Indians coat, he said the TRIBE is a A No 1 organization and in a few years they'll be on top. Shoulda kept CHARLIE MANUAL?
Gotta run,

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....
It is a wet 72 degrees. Rained hard all night. More rain today with a high of 80.
Today is a busy day. I have lots of chores to do. Wife won't be home until tomorrow. More cooking for me. Lunch and then, maybe, I can catch a nice nap. Good day for it.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Saturday.
Chuck
Good Morning from WeAreKindaWetVille...
Wherein we are having a pile of rain here...about 3" fell here and expecting some more. Nasty winds here as well...up to 40mph....
Going to go grocery shopping and getting a few more train things from our FLHS...heeheehee....
So we battening whatever hatches we have left for more of the same today...
SubBob: With my feet the way they are even that would have been really noticable!! OUCH!!!
Have a good day!!
submmbobLong day out making the rounds on the bus. No, I didn't get a pedicure at the podiatrist. I have flat feet and needed new orthotics. And for even more fun, a few weeks ago I got a pair of military style boots that were apparently a 1/2 size too small. In just that short time, I now have a neuroma in both feet. So she gave me a cortisone injection in both feet, between the toes

good morning. It's 75° with 96% humidity. There's a chance for some thunderstorms to come through. The high will be 86°.Nothing planned for today except staying inside and getting plenty of rest. Woke up this morning feeling like I had lost an argument with a steam roller and a runaway furnace. Even my eyelids hurt! I don't know if I'll do any layout work today. Probably not. Even the little bit of movement required for this posting is quite uncomfortable.

"Let's see your feet are hurting? OK, lets stab a needle into them and inject a bunch of fluid..." (Hope the podiatrist doesn't see this, she's very nice)
Ouch. Now tonight they are very unhappy. The good news is I went straight to the boot store that I made the mistake of not going to last time and got a new and much better of boots at the correct size. Even though I used to have cast iron feet and wore some of the crappiest military shoes in the world and even hiked the Grand Canyon in them, it occurred to me that I've been out of the Navy for almost twenty years. Obviously, mileage has taken a toll on these dogs.
DougM - miss the J. It's a long story, but I have a personal resentment against E and F models. FA Alcos however, are a whole different story After all, it's an Alco!!! Must be why I like the P40 and P42's so much. They hiss, rumble, and look strange.
BTW - love the train table and the commercial!
Joe - glad to hear it made it OK!
Time to run the diesels on the Hardwood Floor Central Division of the MG & AE and find a pillow.
Very cool video, Doug! What a cool engine, Joe! Well, all I have to say is this was a Friday. Nice chat with the guys tonight including SJ, Joe, Kev, and Doug :) Nice to hear from Charlie too, and Happy Birthday to his bride! TARDIS time, so get those beacons lit if you want a scoop.
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Well a lot going on tomorrow. Granddaughters 2nd birthday party and seems Sandra and I have been given plenty to do so I thought I would post now before bed.
We have a list of stuff the kid wants us to get, haul, and pay for. Now I feel like RI Jack.
You know Jack if you become the BAD old man host you would have plenty of $$$$$$$ to build a layout.
I will catch up when I can,
Have a good one!!
BTW, Thanks Jim Probe.
Doug that Brio set and table is fantastic! The work done on the video is tremendous. Is your daughter still working at Cedar Fair?
Jeffrey hope you take it easy tomorrow and get plenty of rest.
I was able to help Bob get the legs stabilized on about half of the table modules, he was quite happy. So we will continue forward.
There is a small train show in town for the weekend, it is at the Orange County Fairgrounds, will be able to go for a couple of hours, then off to work. Have to work at Knott's Saturday and Sunday, will be on the steam engine. Then Thursday will b on the Goose. Looking forward to that.
Go and get some stuff ready for the show this weekend, hope you all have a good and safe weekend.
Don
We got table trains and Joe's 1664, very nice. Banilla for all and I'll toss in some A & Ws...S.J.
Afraid I got rather sunburned today. I'm quite red, even for an Indian. That's kinda funny as I'm really quite light skinned. A side effect of one of my meds is that I burn easily. Pupils have also been dilated somehow. Stepping outside earlier was like stepping out into bright glare with everything lit up super bright. Sunglasses helped a little but not much. Glad I didn't have to drive any further than from my parents place to here because it was difficult to make things out. The eyes seem to have settled down. Tomorrow I may see if I can replace the busted pulley on the tractor. It shouldn't be difficult. Of course that depends on how I feel when I wake up tomorrow. Yesterday and today I've really been pushing hard and I'm hurting pretty bad because of it. Lifting the tractor yesterday and standing it on it's rear wasn't the smartest thing to do but it had to be done. The old drive belt had to come out so a new one could be put in. I'm getting too old for this stuff. Right now I feel like every muscle I have is saying 'Get the number of that truck!'. Hopefully I'll feel better in the morning. If not I may not even bother getting out of bed.Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow, maybe.
