Morning. Great day. Carolina blue skies and fall temps.
Will do a sad Mayor thingy as one of my friends and developer is in hospital in critical condition with cancer. Will go after lunch to the hospital for a visit [my only see family] and let them know the whole Town is praying for them.
Going to mow here. Grass is groooowing. Also, start the base for the US flag pole to be installed outside the Box.
Have a great week all.

Good morning. It's 58° and partly cloudy. The high will be 88°.Still not feeling up to par this morning. Woke up feeling light headed. Not dizzy though. I was able to put brass wheels on an AHM center flow hopper so that's something. I have a car in my train here that needs metal wheels. It's a Tyco Kellogg's center flow hopper. It has body mounted couplers already but still has the original Tyco trucks minus the coupler pockets. I'll need to look through my stuff here and see if I can find a set of metal wheels that'll fit.I may be able to get out later and work on the tractor. I still have to replace that busted idler pulley on it and the starter relay needs to be replaced. I have the parts so that's not a problem.

Hi GUYZ,
Got run in with dog. She took off and chased 7 deer this morning, yepping up and down the mountain. Good part is she only chases for about 3 minutes and comes back to see where I am. Thats a GOOD THING. Gotta start clearing out all overhanging branches above shed this morning. Then chainsawing all usable lumber. then take smaller stuff to compost center.
GUYZ, thats for da CONGAs on the run. Felt good.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....
It is a cold and foggy 56 degrees. Going up to 77 today with sunshine.
Today is a busy day. I have the usual chores to do and a project to work on. Busy most of morning. Lunch and a nap are in order.
I dread the thoughts of winter coming. I love to sit outside in the summer and appreciate nature. Humming birds are neat.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Monday.
Chuck

Thought I posted last night, but guess it didn't go through? John - SO glad your son is OK and doing well! That is a heck of a souvenir, but I hope he never earns another! Don, great pics man, how neat Chief, that looks like a nice catch - congrats! Hoping RT feels better, he's been under the weather Nice chat tonight with John, RT, SJ, and Charlie. My son and I put up the walls on the shower - used a couple of those plastic gates you put in doors to keep toddlers or pets out of a room as braces/spreaders to help the walls adhere to the glue. Then we mowed and trimmed as it was actually dry out today. We finished up by filling in a hole along the neighbor's fence, on my side of the fence. I'm pretty sure one of his dogs dug that out, but it has been an open hole there for a good while now and it started washing out, so it was time to fill it up. Knees are killing me from going up and down the hill with the barrow, hope they are better tomorrow!
Tardis is ready and we have banilla, so beacons on boys!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Nice catch Chief!

Time for me to call it a night. Pain from this morning faded away as did the dizziness. The light headiness remained. So I didn't get much done today. See y'all tomorrow.
It's 64 now, went to 72 today. Watched the Lions win with a nail biter finish. Tigers lost by 1 run. I guess they just can't do it. LPGA went to 8 holes sudden death, still no winner, game was called because of darkness. We had home made apple pie with banilla and I saved some for the thingy crew...S.J.
Chief - Nice stripers.
Just got back from yatchet. Sailed out to greet Carnival Pride, then headed over for dinner dockside. One of the few things I will actually miss...
Home from Mecklenburg County. VA that is. Yes, the lake house is in Meckelnburg County VA and not NC. Mowed my grass twice and three neighbors [two sick ones and one not able to get up there] grass. Then we fished. First day 4 minutes out and caught nice big striper. 30 minutes later, limited out [4 fish each and two of us so 8 big stripers]. Next day, road for 1 hour looking them. 5 mintues, limited out again. 6 lines out, 5 went off at one time. Two off us to reel them in. Got all 5. Made another circle and 4 more on. One, we had to drop back as over our limit. Pulled up and went in.
7 of the fish. One already on the cleaning table.
I skimmed th past posts. KEV, never mind. OH! Didn't invite me. I never miss a free meal. BTW: having to make another hole in belt I wear with jeans. Wifey says buy a new one. This one is new.
Later.
Good Evening:
Don, Thanks for sharing the pics of the Fire Station and John Fullerton.
Rich, You know what it is like being a Firefighter.
Thank you for the thoughts and concern for my son.
The Fire made the Asbury Park Press. If you want to check it out it is www.app.com Then go under communitiies, Ocean County, Berkeley. There are pictures of the brick wall and awning that fell on him.
Today I cut the grass, Cleaned out the basement and got my school stuff together. I start teaching tomorrow night.
Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.
John
Good afternoon all,
Went to TTOS train meet in Arcadia today. Picked up a few parts and visited with old friends. Lots of stuff on tables. Got there at 10:00AM and left at Noon. Had looked at everything twice by then and the auction does not usually start until about 1:00PM. I never hang around for that unless I knew there was something special to bid on. Half the buyers are gone home by the time they start and half the sellers withdraw from selling. No brainer!
Laz, good job on dog race. No appology necessary, I couldn't walk that far, much less run.
Re "Squad 51" TV show, the number of our real local paramedic squad is 151. Always reminds me of the show when I see the number.
Finally got new roof finished on our church before winter rains come. A big job that was long overdue.
Hudson, glad your son is OK. Close call!
D.Baker, good pics of John Fullerton and your nephew at the fire house. Think I have seen that other guy somewhere too.

Good Morning!
Jeffrey, Hope you get to feeling better today!
Hudson, Great news about your son being OK!
Laz, Tremendous Job!
You guys were talking about Emergency, the station that was filmed at is very near here. As a matter of fact my Nephew works there. Here is a picture of John Fullerton and my nephew, took him there when he visited last spring. You know who is the other guy. They are pretty much maintaining the original location. BTW a story: The guy that played the Dr at the hospital was a great practical joker. On an interview he was asked what his favorite prank was. He said he was travelling across country, stopped at a truck stop/restaurant. And 2 cars where there with the same identical U-Haul trailers. You guessed it he switched them.
Off to Knott's hope everyone has a great day!
Don
What a nice day here today. Its 66 here at almost noon. Took a walk with WIFE and MINNIE to river and back, saw the eagle again. Not much today on tap just laundry and football GO BEARs!!!
JOEY D. WIFE and MINNIE and I ran the race. We started out at the very end of the pack. There were about 14 dogs that ran and about 60+ people. We started out last because I didn't know how the gal would take to the other dogs and people. Race started up and I tried to have a short leash on her put I was being pulled all over the place with her. She kept going side to side to catch up with all the other dogs. We bagan passing everyone on the road till we got to the trails then again everyone back and forth. We stopped a because of getting tangled up with a few runners and one dog and around a tree. Other then that we ran it ok in a decent time of 26 minutes for the 3+ miles. I think with all the going back and forth I ran an extra quarter mile or so. Not too bad but if we were up front coulda did much better. I finished first in my age group of 55+, and won a book. Me and MINNIE finish 3 rd in runner dog team. Not to bad but really did care about time. I was pleased but nowwhere near my best time of 19:59 when I was a younger 35. I guess 20 years does that to you? Anyway we had fun and MINNIE had lots o dog bisquets after the race and played with other dogs. There were 10 other races going on this day and they probably coulda had a better turn out but thats ok it was fun.
HUDSON JOHN, 82 more dayz heres to ya!!!!
I was a volunteer firefighter for about sixteen years. I got some minor first degree burns, a few second degree burns and a third degree burn in that time but nothing serious. I have the scars to show for my service.
Good morning. It's 73° and partly cloudy. The high will be 85°.I won't be doing much today as I'm light headed and somewhat dizzy and my back and chest are hurting. Throw a bit of confusion into the mix as well. Just some of the possible side effects of the meds I take everyday. Usually they don't bother me but some days, like today they make themselves known. They can cause worse side effects but fortunately they rarely appear. I think this would be a good day to turn off the phone and crawl back into bed. I hope everyone else has a good day.
It's 61 and sunny. 70s today.
John glad to read your story had a happy ending. Granny's at church, I'm eating toaster waffles with peanut butter. Tigers lost last night they stay so close but can't seem to reach the top. Maybe the Lions will roar today. I did a lot of channel changing yesterday, Ohio State, Penn State, Mich State and Michigan. Oh and some LPGA throughout the afternoon. My thumb needs a nap. . . .S.J.
Fife, I watched Emergency also. I was a Volunteer Firefighter at that time in my hometown.
Jack, He is fine. The bruises are like a medal of honor. He is going to be 20 in a couple of months. We just got back from a smoke condition at Police Headquarters. The belt on the elavator motor is slipping.
Have a Great Day,
Overcast now and partly sunny day ahead, mid 70s forecast, with the threat of occasional shower. The wifey and I are off shortly to a large fundraiser on the 4H fairgrounds in Westford MA for Doberman Rescue Unlimited (located in Sandown NH). From there off to Maximus' dog training in Derry NH. I gotta pull a few things together before we leave, especially myself.
High surf continues here as the hurricane is passing by a couple of hundred miles to the East. Swells were originally predicted to hit 12 feet in my neck of the woods but that prediction was scaled back to 7. Riptides are currently making things dangerous for the beachgoers. Should sweep a few careless folks out to sea where hopefully they will be rescued. Last night the news reported a kayaker went missing about 6 miles from my place. He wasn't wearing a life jacket. The kayak was found but he was not despite the best efforts of the Coast Guard, harbormasters, and private citizens. An ounce of prevention.....as the saying goes. No respect for Mother Nature, and the consequences are unforegiving.
HudsonJohn.......that was a close call with your son, too close. I hope he isn't banged up too bad.
Grayson........slaving away in the library, I see.
Later gang.
Jack.
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Hudson - Certainly glad your boy is ok. I grew up watching these guys...
And I wanted to be one. I was visiting my aunt in Detroit, sometime in the late 70's, and witnessed a firefighter get consumed in a backdraft, battling a house fire through a second story window. That was that.
Yesterday morning as I was getting ready to leave for work, our Vol Fire Co. was hit out for a fully engulfed structure fire with possible entrapment at a senior citizen village. My son responded and they and another Engine from a Sister Company who we respond with, arrived within seconds of each other. Sadly the resident was found unresponsive near the rear door. My son was lead man on the nozzle when the exterior brick wall collapsed. He tucked in like he was taught as the wall came down on him. He was taken to the ER, treated and released. He is sore and bruised but other than that he is fine. His helmut was damaged and it was replaced, so he has the damaged one as a souvener. I reminded him that he was lucky. I then asked him if they gave him a lollypop at the ER.
Fife, Wish Fifepup good luck on his driver's test.
AF53, Ray, The package is still here.
Maybe I will stay awake long enough for the Tardis tonight!
Have a Great Day!
Good Morning,
A bit overcast with rain on the way at the Jersey Shore.
I must have been tired when I got home from work yesterday. Fell asleep around 8 and slept thru the night.
Went for a nice long walk with the Dog (Mack) and the Cat (Chester), yes the cat goes with us almost everytime. Mack found a Box Turtle in the middle of a busy County Road so we moved it to a safe location in a wooded area. We sat and watched an Osprey nest for activity but we saw none. We did see a Loon in a creek in a salt marsh. Chester ran into another cat and they started hissing at each other until Mack chased the other cat. He came right back when he was called. We continued home as the sun was rising and we had breakfast. A nice start for a Sunday morning. Maybe I will run the trains and wake my son and wife up. Not a good idea. It is peaceful and quiet, so I think I will clean and lube a loco or 2, wait for the grass to dry out from last nights monsoon and try to cut the grass before the next round of rain.
Mornin' boys. Heyyyyy, mornin' Grayson. Grandbaby spent the night here, and had Fifepops and Grand-ma-ma up at 3 to party. Nice weather today. Have to prepare Fifedom for Monday Night Football. Have to prepare Fifepup for driver's test on Wednesday.
It is a cold 47 degrees. Foggy. Heat kicked on last night. Going up to 74 today with rain this afternoon.
Today is an easy day. I have a few chores to do and then I will relax. Ballgame at 2pm. Like to see a win. Nothing else new here.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
Good Wet Morning from SwimmingVille.
We just had another monsoonal shower show up of the 60% type...going to be like this all day as well...high? Would you believe...66F?
aaaahhhh...but t'is normal around Western Fair week to have the highs go tumbling down and to be cold at night...lows at 46F and such as well....
Going to be doing some housework here..laundry doing , vacuuming, et cetera....yay...
We'll see if any traintime comes our way here...
Konnichiwa,
We had Sunday and school this morning. Afterwards, we grabbed a quick to go lunch from McDonald’s and spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing. I’ve read the WSJ Weekend Edition and will be finishing the latest CTT next. I will go to bed early tonight as I was up late last night finishing some schoolwork. Unfortunately I was awake long enough to catch the end of the PSU-UVA game; PSU should have won but their kicker is horrible and missed four field goals. One was at the end of the game which would have given them the win. The Yankees lost again so they are once again tied with Orioles for first in their division.
Thanks for the nice comments on the 1664. Yes, the previous and generous owner (a fellow Potter) took great care of it and worked many hours to make sure it runs well.
Laz – How did the 5K go? It sounded like a fun one?
Hello Grayson. I hope college is going well.
Sayonara,
Joe
Good evening all,
It is cooler in SE Indiana after a bunch of rain. High school boys split two games this week, losing 2-0 and winining 6-1. Girls won 3-0. My team tied 1-1. Reffed 2 games today and local squads tied 2-2 and won 4-1. Mowed the yard. Tired. TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana

My bet is that your "social life" got in the way!!! Last we heard, you were quite busy with school, no? Don't be a stranger. Jack
