It was a nice day in Saint Louis - worked on the basement for a few hours and took it easy for a while too.  Need to get some shorter screws, preferably made of brass, to finish connecting some stuff - don't want to be the guy who drilled screws through the wall of his shower!

Prayers for us all and thanks for good reports!

TARDIS is ready and we had some good chatter tonight earlier.  We will have the usual, banilla and cookies, plus tonight we have pumpkin pie in honor of Fall.

Oh - won another Hornby key, hope this is the right size for my engine!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good evening. Still wet here as it's rained off and on throughout the day. It's currently 59° here and looking at a high of 78° tomorrow. Possible thunderstorms in spots tonight. No mention of rain for tomorrow.

Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Good Evening Everyone! Beautiful day here at the Jersey shore!

Spent some time over at daughter #2's helping with the landscape then went over to HudsonJohn's to help him clean up inside the house! Wink Then relaxed a bit watching the Yanks pull one out late. For dinner we had my son and his girl over. She bought over a nice Peach wine, it was great!

Fifedog - Looks like it will come down to the wire with your Orioles. The fans must be enjoying this race.

SJ - The Tigers have a nice lead as DougM's team is really falling, bad time to go on a loosing streak.

JoeD - One more game for us. This Tue night against those Sox from beantown. I was hoping we would have clinched it by then but.........

DougM - Those pics are great. Keep them coming.

Laz - What a day! It looks as though alot showed up for opening day. My son would love that. I better not show him the video he might want to move out there.

DJ - Looks like "one day at a time" describes your life right now. Can't imagine what your going through but my prayers go out to you.

Talk to you later.

Aloha. Just getting in under the wire after a beautiful day with my young nieces at the Illinois Railroad Museum. Great news about Tyler's initial response to chemo. Prayers for him, hudson's mom and Mike C.  Awesome photos, Laz. You are the fish-whisperer. Here's a few shots of the day: view out the front of a Roarin' Elgin interurban car.

Good evening all,

It is mild in SE Indiana today, which was a good day to put away stuff.  Jeffery and others who are relatively new, "IIABSDISEI" is an acronym for "It is another beautiful sunny day in South East Indiana" which is where Greensburg is located.  Once we had a long streak of such days and I decided to shorten the phrasing to save typing, sort of like TBIL is short for "The Beacon is Lit" which is a Tardis reference.  Any way we did get a lot accomplished at home today after a leisurely lunch at Burger King.  Actually we have a very nice Burger King and not many people eat inside so it is rather relaxing.  We brought the paper and some books and could get refills when we wanted.  Wound up spending almost an hour and half just detoxing a bit. TBIL and I can drive after "Once Upon a Time".  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Been feeling pretty rough today. In fact I've felt like crap since I got up this morning. Took a nap around noon and woke up feeling even worse. I did manage to get part of a makeshift structure for the elevator put together. It's just a few printed wall plates stuck to a box but it at least gives me something to work with.

EFFERY I am computer illiterate so you are speaking Chinese to me.

Well fortunately you don't have to take foreign language courses. The simplist way I've found is to use Microsoft's Notepad program which comes standard with Windows. I simply bring up Notepad then type my post in it just as I would in the forums posting window, saving it as I go along so if something like a power failure happens I can retrieve it from the hard drive or flash drive, whichever I saved it to and pick up where I last saved. Once the post written I can copy and paste it into the forums posting window and click post. Voila! It's done! I taught my father how to do it over the phone and he's all thumbs just turning a computer on.

Hi GUYZ,

Here's another try on the pics to get em bigger?

Well here is try number 2.  JEFFERY I am computer illiterate so you are speaking Chinese to me.  Anyway got back late Friday nite from the Salmon Capital of the east coast Pulaski NY.  All I can say is WWWWWWOOOOOOWWWWWWW!!!!!!  This was the bestest trip we ever had.  At every bridge on the 13 miles of fishable river there were anywhere from 500-1000 Salmon swimming around.  Now you would think it was easy to have fish on but these fish do not bite.  When they enter the river from the lake they will for a brief time but then become line shy and you reallly gotta work for them.  We fished the fast water and did really well we caught a bunch o fish and had on 154 other ones that either we lost during the fight or broke the line.  We had achy arms and backs by the end of the day but thats a good thing.  Here are some pics I hope and a video I shot of the fish at Pulaski NY.

All fish were released except the last fish that I placed on the limb of the tree that was a 24 lber. that I took home for the WIFE and neighbor ladies.  The fish we caught were between 8 and 30 lbs.  We had others that were about the mid to upper 30s that just go bananas when they are hooked and will strip off anywhere from 75 to 125 yrds of line then you loose em either in the current or someone will get tangled up with you then theyre off.  I caught a buch with a 9 weight fly rod that was a lot o fun but most were caught with the spinning rod.  I still am the SALMON KING for the second year now being I caught the most fish.  I hope we get another year like this one.  I have been going up to Pulaski Ny now for 25 years and this is the best I ever saw it.  I hope it continues.

Stay frosty,

WOW I am back from Silver Cliff WI. Gone four days and have 8 pages to read on the pot.

4 days of hanging with friends and putting a new roof on Mark's cabin. Got done on Friday so took in some of the things up there to see.

Leaves were in full color. Super nice.

Took Brian's truck up this time and everything went fine till 5:10 AM this morning when we left. We did not get a 1/5 mile from the lane when we hit and killed a deer. Sad Truck is messed up good but still ran. a 2007 F250 ford.

Will check in later.

A real Plymouth Switcher still in use at the log transfer yard in Crivitz WI. Now has Cat power.

And a Speeder.

Just checking in,

Not much to report today but getting ready for church at 11:30AM.  Temp will be 102 today and 105 tomorrow.

Hope and prayers for Tyler to keep getting good reports.

Got an E mail yesterday that a conductor I knew on the railroad passed away.  He used to play pro football with San Diego at one time.  He wasn't very old.  He looked out for me when I was wet behind the ears.  He was a huge man but he told me that he was one of the smaller guys on the team.  Sorry to hear of his passing.

Have a good day all,

Ray

Big Smile NO not really.

I'm not sure about today's plans yet, offered Applebee's to granny this morn but got no reply. We shall wait and see.

Gosh the end of September already..Crying..S.J.

That means Snow is that much closer for you

Morning all not a lot going on today.at work doing the normal things

Hope all having a good Sunday. ( Come on 3:30 P.M. ) lol Ready for a break I think the only thing I'm going to do tonight/tomorrow is do some moulding and put up some shelves. I'm thinking of putting the southern set with some of the cars on one shelf and putting the boxes on a shelf right under it. As the engines and the cars have original boxes and most are in pretty good shape.

Actually came up with a good idea for all that track I got as its all straight track it will make good track for my shelves I have about 60 pieces.  If I remember correctly O-31 straight track is 10" long or is it 11" either way about 9 pieces per board will be fine. So I will be able to do about 6 shelves with it and save my gar-graves for when I'm building my layout.

well will catch you all later

This stinks!

If I had $5 for every time I've advised people to put their posts together in Notepad, Wordpad or some other word processor type program I'd be set for life. I put my post together in Notepad including the lines for photos then save that to a flash drive. Then I can copy it and paste it into the reply box. If it gets lost no problem, I just paste it again and click post. Once it's posted I can delete the file from the flash drive.
