Good evening everyone.  Hope I wasn't missed, or mentioned and not responded to.  We were in Florida, in Traindaddy's neck of the woods.  Took family to LegoLand, and also to some shows and shopping at Downtown Disney.  We had a villa that was fantastic and took a few days to relax.  Funny thing, we have been waiting for our LOA, letter of approval from China.  Last time, we went to Florida and it came, so we tried it again and both came for our kids.  We should be heading there in  the near future.

Regarding the Iowa, I saw the same photo.  I believe the photographer was up getting some positioning figured out for the Golden Gate celebration, when he sees the Iowa coming under it.  It was supposed to happen a few days earlier, but a storm delayed the trip.

Jeffrey, my license actually does look OK, but that is because the photo is 10 years old...they keep using the same one.

Well, gotta get some rest and recover from all the fun and driving.

God Bless,
Dennis

Aloha Paradise.. SJ, glad you are c-free. That's interesting about the interurban tracks.  Roy, I'm so glad for you and your son. Speaking of teens, I drove to Cedar Point amusement park to drop off my boy for his summer job - his sister's already there: 7 1/2 hours there and 5 1/2 hours back is a full day of driving in the rain. But always love chasing the NS main line into Chicago. Laz, the countdown continues....

Hello all

Morning on the hill here. Looks like it will be a quiet weekend.

Fife - RT said it, she was going under the Golden Gate under tow to her new home in the LA area just a few days ago.

LAZ - almost there!

Banks - prayers for your friend

Joe - I tend to buy on a budget as well, but have a theme in mind. I have developed a rule where I try to spend no more than $100 at one time on the radios or trains. That means I'm getting things which I have to fix, which I like of course,  and probably no Vision Line locomotives in my future. Whenever I have diverged from this rule it just doesn't seem to work out.

Well on the list for today is fixing Kev's smoke unit and maybe installing the new pinion gear on the 1664. Finally got a halfway decent coat of paint on the baseplate of the ZW so I can assemble it. Vow never to buy another spray can of paint. I'll use the airbrush of my detail auto sprayer.

fife I would bet that pic was from the other day when they where moving her as she had to go under the golden gate bridge to get to her final rest spot.

Well got up this am and tried the good engine ( or what was ) and couplers, engines sounds, crew talk, Tower com, break squeal, engine revs all worked the light for forward motion not light for reverse yes train movement none either direction tried a reset same story Bang Head this engine worked fine till I took the RC2 board out to try on another tmcc board to see if that RC2 board was bad ( which it is) I'm thinking the other tmcc board is also bad but thats another problem one problem at a time lol.

Not much else going on here.

Looks sunny outside as haven't tried to go outside yet. starting to get warm here in den so guess need to turn A/C on. Suppose to be high of 82 today 89 tomorrow.

Well talk to you all later hope you have a good day

Jeffery hope your day is better than yesterday

Hi GUYZ,

Beauty of a day here.  Ay 34 this morning I did a nice easy 2miler just out a mile to the stop sign and back.  Enjoyed the sun and the newly planted corn and soya bean fields.  Quite and just the sound of my breath made this an enjoyable run.  Today got nephews graduation party.

TANKs for all DA CONGAs GUYZ.

SUBBOB, nice pic of the IOWA.

ROY, we watched the HATFIELDs and McCOYs last nite too.  Part 1 on demand, gonna watch Pt2 tonite.  Very well done. Brutal at times but wow.

CHIEF, Nice yarden.  I just got my tomatoes in this morning.  You're eating them already?

FIFE, I'm not trying to slow down.  WIFE has too many things for me to do.

JONADEL, I still can't get over that you had an Ol MIL QUART. NICE.

Stay frosty,

Konbanwa,

The baseball team had its last game this morning.  Everyone did well and has greatly improved from our first practice.  I wish the season was longer so the kids could keep getting better but unfortunately it’s not.  After the game the team moms set up a quick party for the team at the bowling alley which gave me an opportunity to pass out the trophies to the kids.  We took care of our chores this afternoon and then went to an end of season baseball party for the entire league.  It was a good time and the kids watched The Sandlot.  It’s now about time for me to get some sleep.

Laz – Congratulations on the retirement.  I’m sure you will fill your days with plenty of worthwhile events.

John – For my theme I will probably pick railroads (Lehigh Valley and Reading) which would have been in my hometown years ago.  However, RMT keeps having great sales which are persuading me otherwise.

Dougdagrump – I am a budget operator as well.  It’s hard to pass up good buys when they appear but I’m still hoping to get the Reading passenger cars that should go with the locos I picked up for a great price about a year ago.

Brent – That is a great photo.  Those moments fill your heart with an almost unexplainable feeling of joy and contentment.

Sayonara,

Joe

It's 55 with a little sun. Detroit's Grand Prix race is today so hoping they can run without delays. The Tigers, not doing very well. The first half of the season is usually their best. The Wednesday night church kids are going to a place called the Bounce House so granny will be gone for a few hours today. Oh what should I do while she's gone. Always something to worry about. Wishing a happy birthday to my good friend David Parks. He's nineteen today.

Good morning. It's 68° and sunny. The high will be 92 and it'll be partly cloudy.

Nothing special on the schedule today. My blood sugar level this morning is sixty five so I have to get that up or risk passing out. I'm still hurting from all that happened yesterday so I'll be getting lots of rest today.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Clearing and 61 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Had some twisties roll through our area late yesterday afternoon.  One was reported in Brent's neck of the woods, but seeing his post answered my concern.  Watched a supercell pass north of Wifey's work, which apparently caused significant damage 5 miles north of Fifedom.  I'm lucky; don't even have a limb to pick up.

submmbob - How old is that pic?

laz - you may be retired, but I certainly don't see you slowing down.  I figure I have approx 700 days 'til I hang'em up myself.

jonadel - Just echoing everyone else.  Nice to see you posting again.

Sunny and about 70 today.  Last night's rain did not amount to much.

My batch of flatcars I won on Ebay got here today.  Turned out to be a Penn Central, a L&N, and a Northern Pacific MPC era or newer cars and a very nice 6414.  The 6414 has bar end trucks and almost looks new.  No loads on any of them.

All for now.

Well, today was one of those days! Went into town to get my drivers license renewed. So I had to go by the bank and withdraw some money for that. They don't like checks and debit cards for license renewals. So I get bto the bank and swipe my card at the ATM and enter my PIN. Not accepted. Maybe I entered the numbers transposed. Last two numbers where the first two should be. So I try it the other way. Not accepted. By now I'm getting pretty irritated. I swipe the card a third time and enter the number exactly as it should be. Not accepted. One more time! I enter the number and just for good measure I slug the machine. ACCEPTED! Gee, all I had to do was ask nicely and threaten to turn it into scrap! I got my money and headed for the OMV. On the way I dropped off a list of meds at the pharmacy. Got to the OMV (edge of town) and took a number. There was already a pretty respectable crowd there. My number was H14. G79 was being served. Shades of the army! Hurry up an wait! So I wait. Time creeps by. I strike up conversations with some of the others there to pass the time. Well, my number finally came up. H14. I went in and answered their questions and aced their little eye exam. Got my photo taken and they actually did a half descent job of it this time. Last time I looked like something that had sneaked out of a high security prison. On this one I look kinda like Adam Savage from Mythbusters. Got out of there and went to get gas for the van. Got to the station and the pump didn't want to work right. I put the nozzle in the filler neck and the instant it started pumping the filler nozzle turned off. It did this several more times  so I had to hold the handle up halfway to get gas to go in. Took a while to fill it up. From there went to pay some bills then went on to the pharmacy to pick up my meds. Not ready yet. So I wait. Finally they're ready. I pay for them then head to Wal-Mart. I was looking for a parking space close to the store when I was startled by a load bang and the the sound of high pressure water hitting the bottom of the van and the ground. The smell of anti-freeze and steam coming from under the hood told me what had happened. It was one of those 'OH CRAP!' moments. Well there were no open spaces on that row but I spotted one on the next row so I very gingerly drove to the top of the row and turned to the next row and got cut off by some lout in an SUV who then proceeded to drive so slow he could have taken up squatters rights. I saw the open space getting closer and the lout was edging toward it. There was enough space for me to squeeze through and get the space first and I did it. No way was I burning up my engine because of him. Once he saw the steam blowing off like Old Faithful he didn't have much to say. I looked under the front and saw the problem. The lower radiator hose had blown and had a three inch long tear in it. So I went to customer service and called my mother and told her I needed a ride to get my groceries home. I didn't have them yet but I would by the time she got there. A fast driver she ain't. It take me fifteen minutes to get to town. The same trip takes her over half an hour. Must be a new slow speed record for the Pontiac G6. So I get my groceries including two gallons of anti-freeze/coolant and soon after I get out of the store she shows up. First stop was home to put the perishable stuff including meds away. Then it was back to town to get a new lower hose and a set of clamps. Back to Wal-Mart to repair the van while my mother went to Stage to do some shopping of her own. New hose fit like a glove. New clamps didn't. They were just one size too small. The old ones weren't bad off so I used them. Made sure everything was tight then dumped in the two gallons of coolant. It wasn't enough and I knew it wouldn't be. I took the two containers to automotive (other side of the store) and had them filled willed water then went back and dumped that in the radiator. Still not enough. So another trip to get the containers filled again. It took just over five and a half gallons to fill it up. I knew that radiator was big but man! Looking down in it I can count three cores and that's just what I can see. There's room for a fourth core and probably is one. But it took me longer to fill the thing than it did to replace the frikkin hose. Finally got back home a little before six and I am wiped out.

Chief, nice looking photos of the box and gardens.  Any squash back there?

Laz, early congas for the big day.  Whatever happened to Schlitz beer?  Are they still around?  Used to be my favorite in my drinking days.

Work on street in front of our house today because of water leak.  They dug it up, made the repair, covered and repaved all today.

Might have visitors from the Coffee Pot this weekend if things work out.  More later.

Big train show tomorrow at Ontario, Ca. covention center and also parking lot sale at local hobby shop clearing out some inventory at the Train Stop in San Dimas.

Did a little clean up in the train room yesterday and today.  Hope it cools off a little tomorrow for visitors.

Still walking the straight and narrow with my ailments but doing OK today.

later,

Ray

Some up to date garden and Box photos:

Pam's garden and Box with new grass.

My garden at back of Box.
Grape vines and peach tree [apple tree gone due to tornado].
Greenhouse with Pam's pumpkins and some under JD windmill to the left.
Pouring rain.  Off to lake house as soon as storm passes.  Had big bad storm up there about 30 minutes ago.

Chief it was fun seeing I could get you too. I was just joking as my smile on the thread about you complaining. I knew you really didn't care.

Well been an interesting day to say the least with me and tmcc. taking a break may look at it later.

I went to remove the tmcc out of the williams trainmaster PRR engine as decieded this am to give it a test run as it never really ran right well it decieded it didn't like the track and jumped the track so I said enough ( it was hardly going and on a straight away) So I was going to put itiin tne GG-1 I just got in well did all the wiring and then all I got was some lights flickering so i tried to reprogram and had nothin. Well talked to boxcar bill some he sugested I try another RC2 board and see if it worked well I took the RC2 board out of the NS and put the one from the other set in and had nothin so put the board back in all was fine except no lights now I tried the other again and a reset and now nothinBang Head Time to take a break from it and try again tomorrow. Guess I can put some coil couplers on one of my GP-9's that needs them or maybe I should just forget touching anything for a while lol.

Well was doing well for a while today then my back started hurting and getting sensitive to the touch again so who knows.

talk to you all later

Hello all

I'm a couple of days behind on the Pot. Life is jumbled here. More on that later.

Jumping in now to ask for Prayers for a Co-worker of Mrs. A mid 40's 4th grade teacher collapsed during recess and was taken to the local hospital and then life flighted to Pittsburgh. That's all I know right now but it doesn't sound good.

Back later with an update on my week
