Sunny and about 90 today.

Has anybody been involved with modular HO layouts?  I'm looking for a standard to build to for the museum layout.

All for now.

Hello all

Another quiet night on the hill. Last night of the 7 day shift. Will be coming back up next Monday for one night and then we will shut this puppy down for summer maintenance. I will be taking a couple weeks off and then will go onto a somewhat more normal schedule until fall.

BOC - thoughts and prayers

DougM - glad things went well

Chief - looks great! Keep up the good work! And careful not to step on that rodent...Stick out tongue

Got a ticket on the "Hound" for 8:15 Thursday morning to go up to Phoenix to pick up my friend's VW. Supposed to be 113 that daySurprise By the time I get over to her house (will take the Phoenix light rail from the bus station to Tempe) and get the bus checked out it will be nearing the hottest part of the day. Perfect time for a 2 1/2 drive to Tucson! Will bring a few tools, a couple gallons of water, and charge up the cell phone. I will take the Pinal Pioneer Parkway thru Florence to get back to Tucson. It's a bit longer but then I won't  be slow speed obstruction on I-10. Much prettier drive too. My preferred way to make the trip.

Wish me luck!

Konnichiwa,

I left work early today since the typhoon left me plenty of tree branches and limbs to pick up.  The storm finished sometime overnight and when I woke up this morning it was pretty clear outside and very humid.  It is partly cloudy now and extremely humid.  I don’t have much else planned for the evening and fortunately the storm only pruned the trees for us.

John – I did not forget about those guys.  My 8 y/o son believes Godzilla is just resting now and may attack at any moment.

Chief – The Box is looking great.  Thanks for sharing the photos.

Bob – Have a great trip.

Sayonara,

Joe

Top O' the morn'in to Y'all!  It is gorgeous out right now.  Sitting on the couch with my bride on one computer and me on the iPad at both ends.  We have the door open with the birds making a sweet song and a nice cool breeze.  I know it is only temporary as we will be turning up the AC soon.

Doug, good news on the eye.  No more playing the pirate?  Hope the vision is good.

Chief, lots of progress there.  Looks good.  It can be quite a chore hauling all them engines!  Hope you are able to get things rolling on the high iron soon!

Joe, glad things are OK after the storm.  They have a habit of causing their share of havoc.

Time to grab a bite to eat and head in.  Just doing some assisting on a case today, so go in late and come home early....just how I like it.  Makes up for the days that I don't get to see the family from being stuck at work.

God bless,

Dennis

Aloha. Kev is right! It's been super-hot here - feel sorry for Jack suffering through it at his inlaws too. Sending it on to points east.  I can't decide whether to wear my glasses or not. If I wear them (without a lens for the 'new' eye), my depth perception is off since the glasses eye sees things smaller than the other. But the other eye is only 20/60 - good enough to type here... but still blurry. Won't drive yet. Chief, the Box looks great!  JoeD, glad you are OK re the typhoon. I couldn't believe the rain they'd bring. Fife, I remember enjoying the 'original' Tall Ships pageant in NY harbour from a Circle Line tour boat back in 1976.

It's 81, going to 95. I think we will skip the church picnic this evening. It would be nice to go but just too hot for us. I don't know how you Rebs survive in that humidity. Doug M good progress on the eye, I hope you have a full recovery. Joe always fun to hear whats happening over there. Chief I see progress, it's moving right along...S.J.

Good Morning CTTFans!

It's 56F and Cloudy; YES!  A cool front is pushing in and we are getting a break from the abnormally high temperatures we have been deal with.  So, as long as this front does not bring too much Wind / Lightning it could make for a nice day today.

Looks like 3-Green lights for me...

FIRE NEWS:

The main fire (High Park - Neat Ft. Collins) broke containment yesterday near some homes but the Fire Fighters were able to respond quickly so no additional homes were lost.  It is still growing (mainly to the West) and we are now at 59,845 acres burned and the Fire Fighters are at 55% containment.

The other major fire (Springer - Near Colorado Springs) is at 1,145 acres burned.  150 homes there have been evacuated but so far so good for them.  They are reporting 23% containment

Hi GUYZ,

WOW I couldn't see a quarter mile this morning with the big fog here.  Got my 3 mile run in then the 4+ mile walk in with MINNIE down to the river and back.  Then watered all the fowers.  Read paper, jumped on bike and did another 7 miles.  Gee I'm beat.  Appose to hit 95!  Maybe take a few eggs and do them up for lunch on the driveway?

DOUG m< hope da eye is getting better.  My MOM just went in to get her retna re attched.  Shes at about 20/70 now.  Hopefully it gets better.  I guess you gotta eat more carrots?

FIFE, SPPPPPEEEEEEEDO, oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

CHIEF, nice work hope you're gonna have AC in da WRECK TANGLE?

Stay frosty for sure today,

Good morning all,

IIIABSDISEI with temps in the 90s.  Scrimmaged with "my" soccer girls last night.  We had 10 there last night, which was a good turnout.  Came home and did a walk with wife to wind down from playing.  Game tonight is at 7 and we should have subs.  TBIL after the game.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Lunch time:

Our dog Mack, tangled with a skunk last night. Lucky to have had the shampoo to clean him off. He is not bad now.

Submmbob, Enjoy the trip

Demay, Joe, I agree with your son. Godzilla is sleeping.

Doug, Great progress with the eye. I watched the Tall Ships in '76 also. Very Impressive.

Fife: Glad you enjoyed it.

Chief, Box is looking good.

Darren, I have a brother that lives in Fort Collins. He wanted to have a family reunion this summer at his place. I told him that I am bringing a Fire Engine.

Jeffrey, Take Care of Yourself.

Blown Out: Hang in there.

Thoughts and Prayers for all in Need. The list is growing.

Have a Great Day,

John

Good morning all,

Got blood test done this morning and now will go to foot doctor this afternoon.

Chief, you're da man for Norfolk Southern.  That's quite a collection of the modern NS diesels.  Thanks for the photos of the box.  Benchwork is looking good and ready for top part.  Looks like your layout is covering part of the windows but shouldn't be a problem.  Will you need to put drapes over the windows in the winter?  Also, you may not want to display what's inside if you're not at home.  Knowing you though, you probably have security figured out.  You can send Barney Fife over to watch the layout when you go to the lake.

Have to install new switch machine on layout today.

later,

Ray

Hope you are not planning for an outside BBQ and bring a few gas masks with you depending on which way the wind blows.  Might get SMOKE, might get Cow smell from Greeley... Cowboy

Doug, if memory serves me right, that was called "Op-Sail".  I got to see it too.  I also got to go on the Eagle in Baltimore many years ago.  Prior to that, I saw it in Bermuda back in the eighties. It is a handsome ship.  There was also a German ship that was green, don't recall the name, Graf something.

Not much else happening around here.  As to dealing with the heat and humidity, thank God for air conditioning.

Jeff, take care and get checked out.

Jeff, take care and get checked out.

Taking care not a problem. This has been happening this time of the year for the past fifteen 0or or years. That's why I got my drivers license renewed a month early when I could ace the eye test.

Kev: like the hobo camp fire. Too bad the HO ones don't look as good.
