Hey Guys, and Rich,

Don’t get me wrong here. BUT,,, The union guys everyone seems to have issues with these days are the same guys holding up the pay scale for all of the non- union slugs on the backs of the union guys that brought the pay up to the point it is today. Paid the price with work and strife in strikes. All of the right to work guys only get what they get because of the work the union workers have done and worked for. JMHO

How many of you out there would rather be paid union scale or scab scale???

Something that has been going on for the last 20 years.

Hope I have not crossed the line with this but it is something to think about.

Have a good one.

Banks,

I would've contacted the dealer, but he didn't seem too ethical or honest if you get my drift.  If I call about brake shoes, I'd probably end up with cement shoes.Oops - Sign

The new shoes, hardware kit, spindle nuts, and wheel cylinder were only $45 with shipping, so not really a big deal.  I'll rebuild the original cylinder in place because I don't want to touch the steel line connected to it.

Evening all not much going on here tonight. I put a little test section together with the switches I got just can't run the engine across tham yet as need to figure a temporary process for powering middle rails after the first switch. at least I'm now able to do a little switching opperations lol. Yeah getting the itch.

Oh the guy I been talking to told me he now has 10 left switches and 4 right switches and looking to make sure he has motors for each of them. And he has some odd legnths of gargraves track.

I ordered 1 set of 4 drawf signals ( I believe if I did my caculations right there about 4/5 of an inch. ) 1 set of 15 momentary push button switches with red tops and a set with green tops so it will be 30 buttons in all just enough to tap them to get the switches to go one way or the other.

When I get the drawf signals in I will determine if I want more or not but I believe they will be right at scale hights and be great for the layout.

Jim Congratulations on passing the testYesDrinksBeer

Good morning all, slow day so far.  Start prep for colonoscopy tomorrow so last day I can eat.  Having steak tonight on the grill.

#2 son got home safely from car race near Monterey last night.

Been walking in the park in the mornings lately to get shade on warm days.  There is a 12 step group that meets there every morning.  Only problem is we have to walk past them on each lap around the park and a lot of them are smokers so we have to go through that even though there are no smoking signs at the park.  However, have to cut them some slack because I know they are dealing with bigger problems.  Just have to get over there before their meeting starts.

Chief, hope your little pup doesn't do pee pee on your bed.Whistling

Hello All

Much needed rainy mid 60's here

Fife, Angel for the CSX candidate. My son works for Chiefs favorite railroad in the Juniata Shops boiler house. I attribute that to some "Special" help from the Pot when he needed a job.

Probe Congas on the certification.  RE my last post I'd definitely talk to the dealer about the brakes.

Good afternoon all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s.  I have heard of Andretti possibly adding NASCAR.  Has not worked too well for Penske/ Ganassi so who knows.  Not sure if I see them running Dodge and tcking Chevy off in Indycar as Chevy has the dominant engine so far.  TBIL and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

This has probably been said at least a dozen times in here in fact I seemed to remember hearing somewhere but it never clicked I see I'm going to have some soldering wires with these switches as the center rail doesn't carry load from end to end like Lionel/MTH switches do but thats going to make it more fun. just need to realize these are going to be set in place and not movable basically as the wires need holes underneath them to go under the board lol.

This is going to be a nice learning experience I'm looking forward to. I guess best way is to get track in place drill hole threw plastic and board and run wire down and solder it to middle rail then when all is where you want it.

Good morning. It's 78° and partly cloudy. The high will be 92°.

First order of business today was to pick up a MKT tank car and three LS&W hoppers from the SW spur in Sundown then cut out four tank cars and spot them on the spur. Then a change of motive power from the GP38 and SD27J to the F7A/F3B/F3B. Later I'll run the Trainmaster and U30EM645 to check that the electrical repairs made yesterday are what was needed. I also need to do a general cleanup on the work area.

Morning all

Jack I got accused of picking on Kev I wouldn't do that and you know it WhistlingLaugh

Well after some playing and talking to sj I figured out every thing on the switches and by time I get this all done I think this is really going to be neat. I found some minuture drawf block signals which I think will actually be a lot closer to scale size and there only like $3 each and push buttons for controlling the switches for as little as .47 each and can get them in red and green but need to buy in sets of one color and 15 of them at a time but thats fine with me the drawf signals is sets of 4.

Well not much else going on here today checking out the motors for the switches checked one last night and it was good so about to go check the rest.

taking wife out for lunch. Going to Ryan's.

talk to you all later

Good Morning CTTFans!

It's 59F and clear heading for a record breaking heat in the low 90's; yesterday we just missed breaking the record high.

News on the Bunny front.  We now have seen two babies but the neighbors got serious and have so far trapped the mother and one of the babies last night.  They hope they can catch the other baby today and the drop off the whole family down at the park along the canal.

Spanky, that's too much work. I'll also look in my bins for any MTH trolley parts (used to have many of 'em)  Glad your dad's home, Brutus, that baseball deal sounds delicious. Kev, glad you're back to spreading gravel. What an impressive saga up north.

Same here, FIFE.  I subscribe to Chief's "hire it done theory."  My beer expense might be higher Chief's way, watching the process.Whistling   But considering the rest..... including the 14 hour round trip commute, driving all over God's Dairyland a few times to get parts, equipment overhauls, and the wear and tear on my aging carcass.......the total outlay might be the same or less. Wait, WHAT am I seeing here,,,, RI Jack complaining about a long Pot post??????  Huh?  Huh?  Huh?

KEV.....think you misunderstood us.  Your post was great.  I was exhausted just thinking about all you had to do and had to overcome. Dead  BTW, sounds like some dynamite might have come in handy. Stick out tongue

Even my long post would be shorter than most of Jack’s daily post. Laugh

I would still be there working on it.Bang Head  And when I was finished, the content of the septic tak would flow the wrong way, if you get my meaning.Ick!

BTW My total cost on the trip was $76.00 the rest, gas and all was on Mark and he still saved thousands.

You forgot to include the beer expense....Mark may have lost money on the deal.Beer

Congrats, Probe!

Wow Kev - glad you know what you are doing!

Had a nice email chat with James SP today and he's doing fine, really busy.

Dad is home.  He is supposed to use oxygen, but he keeps taking it off.  Other than that, he's doing really well.

Char took Kevin to the ballgame - paid for a box deal, which she got for half price.  It included sodas, beer (not for them!), hotdogs, brats, burgers, nachos, peanuts, etc - as much as you want.  I took Hannah to Culvers for a burger and then we went to see Dark Shadows, which we both LOVED.  Catching up on some episodes of GRIMM together now.

Nice chat with RT, Kevin, and SJ tonight, as usual!  TARDIS is ready, freddy and we also have chocolate chip cookies Thumbs Up

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Congrats Probe.  That is something they can not take away.  Now lets find you a good job. Yes

Somewhere around 80 today. The rain we needed broke up before it got here. One of the stores we shopped at this morning didn't have the things on sale that we went for. Daa on the way home it occurred to me, this is Monday and it was last weeks sale. I know you guys would never do that huh. John, I got some Strohs Lemon Chiffon ice cream today, there seems to be only one store that carries it..Banilla is waiting for the thingy crew, I'm keeping the lemon..S.J.
