Good Morning

Doing this while waiting for something to print now...a wonderful 1,200 manual that I need for one certain Audio program...oh frabjious joy........printer is really slow sometimes...

Weather here is kinda dicey..we had a small accumulation last night that melted away a little earlier this morning...going up to 44F for a high...yay..

We had a wonderful time yesterday...we went to a local restaurant that is a cozy little place and had butterflied leg of lamb, twice baked potato, grilled asparagus and herbed creamcheese cake....then went to a series of stores and got her a new outfit...a lovely time to be had....

Nothing much planned for today..more listening to the finches in our backyard sorts of things....

fife:  Have you ever posted a pic with your yachet? We have something like that..a 30 foot C&C...

Have a good day peeps!!

Hi GUYZ,

First day o TROUT SEASON here in PA.  Rainy.  Started at 8 AM, I'll do my regular start time of 4 PM, if it isn't raining.  Let all the kids catch em early and have fun.  Later have fire and Ol Mils. Also it is the first day of outdoor beer season.  Ran trains last nite for 2 hrs.  NO PILE UPs.

CHIEF, WOW!  what a haul.  Bet they were all Nawrtherners.  Gee I'd be locked up for ever.

Stay frosty,

Good morning. It's 64° and partly cloudy with patchy fog. There's a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. The high today will be 85°.

Just running trains this morning. I have the F3 A/B set pulling now. No problems with it after changing that bum decoder. Sometime this morning I'll run the F2A-F3B-F7A set. The GP9's and GP7's will get their turn sometime today.

Konbanwa,

I was able to knock out my chores and fly kites with the kids before it started to rain.  It was a very windy day which made for great kite flying.  I renewed my CTT subscription today but instead of the traditional magazine I opted for the digital version.  I was glancing at the May issue on the wife’s iPad and it was very neat.  Now I will not have to wait for the magazine to make its way out here.  I also upgraded my WSJ print subscription to the digital format as well for the same reason as changing to digital CTT.  The wife made lemon meringue pie tonight and it is delicious.  The kids wanted to watch a movie tonight and chose The Polar Express.  I had no problem with their choice.  I need to finish some schoolwork and then get some sleep.

SP Ray – I’m glad you received such great news about your brother.

Dennis – Thanks for the clarification.

Chuck – I’m glad you were able to watch the game at a decent hour back there.  The photo flashes were to the nth power when Ichiro was at the plate – it was quite a sight.

Sayonara,

Joe

36 and still gloomy, now you know why I enjoyed that week of 80s so much.

Laz, Murphy's been on vacation in the east, NYC, Boston, ect. They are heading home today. All those folks the PD/Chief caught were just the ones driving horse and buggies on the sidewalk. Good catch though for a small town where you could just crawl home. No plans for today, Yet.

Good Morning all!

New pot getting ready to brew soon???? Cloudy day hear at the Jersey shore. Maybe some sun around 4:00.

2 Great NCAA games later tonight as the winners play for the championship on Monday. Go Buckeyes!

SPRay - Great news, I'm sure you could use some.

Chief - That's terrible! I don't know why people take driving so carelessly!

Blownout - Happy anniversary and many more.

Rich - See you tomorrow, I'm not sure what time we'll get there. I'll call HudsonJohn later.

JoeD - How was the pizza at the game. Living here in Jersey all my life I don't see how it could come close to ours.

Later,

Ray

The Sad news Fife I haven't seen a HOBBYTOWN that carried any Lionel at retail let alone below retail. I avoid Hobbytown, Hobby lobby as a rule unless I have one of Hobby Lobby 40% coupons then its like 20% off retail normally sometimes a little better.

Since Ray gave his approval here are some pictures.

Entry to layout, foreground two trestle bridges, approx 30 degree angle and 40" long.  To large an angle for a hinged bridge.  Would have too big of sweep and take out a lot of stuff on layout.  Also stability issues.  There fore made into a single Lift Out section.

Second bridge/track, made a hinged bridge;  (Taken from inside of room looking out)

Ray is holding bridge, friend of mine Bob Taylor also in picture.

Regards,

Don

Good morning all,

Dbaker, thanks so much  for posting the pictures of the layout project.  Just got a call from Don at Knotts Berry Farm to let me know about the posting.  Guess he's checking out the trains down there today unless he's still doing some other duties.

Fife, very pretty boat under sail.  Looks good.

Laz, good luck on the trout opener.  Wish I was with you.

Going out tonight to a local fund raiser for the city Library.  It is called the Great Trivia Challenge and works like a quiz show with an MC that ask questions to participating teams until all are eliminated but the winner.  It's a lot of fun with a buffet meal and lots of prizes.  We have been going to this for several years now.

Chief, good job on getting the drunks off the road.

Dennis, thanks for the good wishes for my brother.  We were all relieved when they found no blockage.  I thought it was interesting that he and I both got good reports from doctors on the condition of our hearts which they said were like much younger men.  I have enough other health issues but thank the Lord, heart trouble is not one of them.

Now that I can get around better in my garage/train room, it is time for a good cleaning and vacuumning of the floor when the spirit moves me.

later,

Ray

Morning all!

Fighting some PC issues so was unable to post the last couple of days. Spare time was spent "fixing" the issue. I use the term "fixing" loosely as when one spends 3 hours on phone with one's ISP service support and the issue appears "fixed" after resetting "settings"15 times (never making a change - just reinputting the same parameters) and it starts to work falls into the realm of "magic" - yet the ISP declares vistory???

Cloudy here - but headed to 88 possibly. Mid-high 80's and maybe some rain tomorrow/tomorrow night. and then 70's for next week.

Will be continuing the movement of dirt from the back yard, leveling, and then sod.

dbaker, Ray - nice!

Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy

SPMAN and DON, great looking bridges there.  Love to see more of that layout.  Any problems with the hinged bridge?  I da a pull out bridge but didn't like the lining up part all the time so I went with a DUCK UNDER.  Watch your head though. Keep up da good work.

Good afternoon all,

It is cloudy and cool in SE Indiana, but there is a warm glow in my heart as Mike Conway drove AJ's car to a 4th place starting position for tomorrow's race.  This is the best start for the team since 2007.   Hope springs eternal.  Tired after reffing two games today, but now I do not feel the pain.  I had waffles and bacon on the dining car for breakfast before sending it out to "Points East".  TBIL and I will be doing major barrel rolls.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Well all packed and set to start out tomorrow morning on Kev’s big adventure to Fargo ND.

I will have plenty of time to check the pot when I get there and I hope to see the LHS in the area if there are any. If things work well tomorrow I may hit the back two lane roads and do some railfaning along the way. I am just going to take my time and see how it goes. Got the camera so I hope to share it if it is good stuff. Wink

Chief not to make light of the Road stops, they need to be out there. But kind of miss the days where the officer knew you ( and your dad) and took you home to let you get the beating and consequences from your dad.

Times long gone now days. Sad

Had a great time with the granddaughter and she only acted up when her mom got here???   Mischief  She did cause a major pile-up and almost took out the saw mill.  Surprise

Hey submmbob sent you a PM. The smoke unit works great!! Yes

Fifedog, Nice Ship or at least a ship compared to my 18’ open bow. Tongue Tied

Don and SPRay great shots I like it. Yes

I am always amazed by everyone’s layouts they all have something to offer that I have not seen. Thanks again. Post more.

Have a great night guys,  Sleep

Laz,

Trout season already?  That came up fast.  Figured I still had a few weeks to get everything together.

Got the GL back together after replacing timing belt and pullies, waterpump, both cam and crank seals, and radiator with both new hoses.  I noticed that the power steering reservoir was empty, so I filled it.  Started the car and everyhting looked good, until I saw the puddle underneath from a split line from the PS pump.Bang Head  Apparently this happened before I bought the car.  New line on the way.

Had showers all morning.  Then sun and humid.  Fixed a small roller bag where airlines had torn the stops/props off of.  I had fixed my larger one years ago.  I put a large sanded and rounded block of wood in place of the plastic.  Countersink bolts and put a large aluminum plate inside the botton of the bag.  Bolt it together and paint it black to match. They do not tare them off then.  Went out with SIL and hubby to eat.  Visited them at their house and now home.

Fiefy, nice Yatchet.  Enjoy.  BTW: do not know how you officers work shifts.  I'm beat.

Ray, Shake and Bake, nice bridge.

SJ, thanks forthe reminder.  Not setting clock.  Starting now.  Going to bed.

Later.  [to the new Pot]

Good evening everyone.  Getting ready for bed.  Went to get son this morning as he had slept over a friend's house.  Had to meet half way as the family is on a farm an hour away.  Had a nice BBQ lunch and then tonight we went to an arena football game followed by ice cream.

I have been searching for some images to print and put on card stock to add to the background on the layout.

Ray, looks great.  I can't wait till you get it finished and share the results.

Well, tomorrow we are going to my FIL's to celebrate his birthday.  Hate to miss church, but it is the only time we could go as I will be on call next week.

God bless,

Dennis
