Happy Spring CTTFans!

Sorry I've been away for a few days, work has been a bit overbearing so not much RR fun time.  Been warm here for a few days now but heading to be more seasonal which is nice; no need to rush Summer getting here.

so she goes it cleared up why don't you go get gas and cut the grass as it needs it too (not arguing this one as its just an endless argument) Bang HeadBang Head

well now all is done will see how much more rest I get now. well got the parts in for the N/S Dash 8 not sure if I want to tackle that today or wait till I'm off again like weekend after next. or wait till mid April when I'm off 9 days and then I can do the dash 9 and the GP's conversions all at once. sounds like a plan to me.

hope all having a good day will talk again later

Good afternoon all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s.  Good news is that I got the yard mowed last night.  Bad news is that things are going terribly, terribly wrong with Lucas.  I cannot give details as of now (or forseeable future), but I am asking for prayers...again.  That is all that can be done and right now that is all can help.  I may be away for a few days.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good morning all,

Neck problem seems a little better today.  Thank the Lord for any improvement.  Temp going up into the 70's today so that won't hurt anything either.

Joe, Jack and the rest of you guys.  Thanks for the grill advice.  Jack, I have the non infrared type also.  Would have bought the other kind if I knew anything but didn't.  My grill tops (cooking surface) are coated with some kind of porcelan looking finish.  Don't know if you're suppose to use a wire brush on those.  I doubt it.  However, the Pam idea sounds good and coating the metal parts of the grill with vegetable oil sounds good too.  I suppose you could use that oven cleaner on the drip pan etc if you let it go too long but I would rather keep up with it.  Jack, I avoid cooking certain things in the house for the same reasons you described.  Looking forward to getting back to grilling as the weather improves.

Jeffrey, you guys must be setting a record for rain down there.  Send some to Roy in Texas.  They need it.  We had a little a few days ago and got enough snow in the mountains to make them white until it warms up.

later,

Ray

It's plenty wet, that's for sure. But it's going to have to do better to break the records. Rainfall amounts of as much as twenty inches a month have occurred in most cities in Louisiana, and rainfall as much as 10 inches in 24 hours aren't rare. If you want to go to a part of the US that has more annual rainfall than Louisiana you have to go to Hawaii.

Hi guys. Another day in the 80s here???? DougM, I am shure we will pay for this somehow! Surprise

Started out with a quick trip to Morton this morning but no boss. So I picked up my badge and dropped off the loaner laptop then on to East Peoria to fix my SS card thingy. Then a slow ride back through the beautiful Central IL countryside to home.  Paradise Caught up on e-mails from home and did some required on-line courses I have to get out of the way. Enough work for today. Whistling

Mike, Hope all works out with Lucas. God be with you. Angel Kids are a constant battle, hang in there.

Ray, take care of the neck issues they can be bad.

Brutus, did you get rain today??

Prayers for all in need,

Later,

Hey guys -

MikeC - Angel - on the way, brother!

Where's my SUN?  temps in the 60's and cloudy.  May not make the bike ride today...but I have an itch to head to Asbury Park (yes, THAT Asbury Park)

My NEON has been repaired.  Nothing that a new radiator and fan motor couldn't cure.  Total outlay about $75...smart shopping and ...er...urban engineering works every time.  It is not overheating.  The replacement fan motor was $175.  I had a small spare from another project that was more better than factory, just had to install and wire 'er up!  375K miles and it just keeps rollin'.

Now, the Princess and I both have vehicles.  She just needs her license in September.....and she wants the Pulsar coupe....Bang Head.....

80 now, 84 was our high. Highest temp. ever recorded for a march day in the Detroit area. I spent most of it outdoors, except my date with the couch of course. Cut down a small tree and cut it up. I still got to have a go at the stump. The new Lionel catalog is in the stores, you can see some of it on our Detroit3Railers web page. Banilla sounds good tonight..S.J.

Oh the lowest temp recorded for this date was -1, Back in the 1890s.

Good evening y'all.  Finally home.  Been a long few days with three hours sleep in a three day period.  The heart lung machines will be made in Germany and shipped to us.  Design sessions went well, but took quite a lot of effort.  In my absence here, the boys have been busting their backsides with cases, and tomorrow morning, I get to join them.

Doug, I am not sure I have ever seen that engine in o gauge.  I do not buy any of the alcohol/cigaret company livery items, but it did look like a neat engine.

Well, I am heading to bed.  Hope to catch up on things sometime tomorrow.

God bless,

Dennis

Ps: Joe, that did start coming.  Thanks.

Maybe Princess needs to get a tiny straight shift "get you there vehicle".

All my kids [two stepdaughters from Ex, son and daughter and youngest stepdaughter] got one of those to drive for a year or so.  Then they graduated up.

Ohayƍ,

Hey folks, just a quick cup of coffee from the office.  It is a bit chilly today, but the sun is deceiving and making it look warmer.  I need to call the outdoor recreation office and add my daughter to the trip.  We didn’t think she would be able to go due to a ballet rehearsal but her instructor said she could skip this one.  I don’t have much else going on and I cannot believe how fast this week is going.  It’s time to get back to work.

Mike C. – I’ll pray for Lucas and you.

Jack – Thanks for not holding my baseball allegiance against me when it comes to grilling.

SJ, Brent, and Ray – Pam works great as well.  But yield Brent’s advice and spray it before you turn on the grill.  And Ray, you’re right; some grill manufacturers recommend not using wire brushes on the grates, especially when they are still hot.

Dennis – I’m glad your trip went well and your new reading material arrived.

Sayonara,

Joe

AMEN! The pine trees down here are already doing their thing and that yellow dust is getting everywhere. My parents pear trees have already pollinated as have my sisters three pear trees. Seems like the ragweed is going crazy too.

An afterthought about grill cleaning.

After grilling, I leave the flame on and place aluminum foil on the grate, about 10 minutes on high burns off most of what was left behind. A visual check will let you know when its clean..S.J.

Hello all

Back up at work for another week.

Had an interesting weekend. Was in a car accident on Sunday. Spaced a red light while going from church to a meeting. Realized what I did just as I saw a white car heading toward the right front of the car. Both parties are ok, fortunately. Folks in other car were an older couple from Safford. Called them up the next day to make sure they got all the insurance info and see how they were doing.

Estimate on the repairing the Aveo is already over $8K, so we will see what the ins wants to do.

Will be on the bicycle for a bit. I'm just happy that everyone is ok.

Anj- glad to hear your daughter is OK and prayers for your father.

Mike - thoughts and prayers as well

Kev - have all the parts needed to work on the smoke unit now. Was looking at R/C connectors at the LHS on Tuesday, but ran out of time.

Still on track to visiting the USS Iowa weekend after next.
