Good morning guys, Sunny with a fresh cover of snow.25 now. Nice chat last night with Brutus, SJ,Joe, and John. Buckeye, congratulations on the attack on the Rolesville rail system yesterday. I hear that Chief and the 14 other brave residents of Rolesville are preparing for today’s frontal attack. They have apparently not learned from history that they will not survive a Yankee invasion. On top of that, the news here is Obama found out about Chief’s post from yesterday. So he is sending in additional back up troops from the Chicago Rainbow Beach area to help Buckeye. Something about they have had relatives who passed through that area in the past and that will help them in the fight. With all of the preparations going on Chief if you find time once you have been captured I am still waiting for a $ number from you. Bob My wristwatch is still sitting where I put it three years ago when I retired. I have not put it on since. Doug, I saw that on the news about Capt. McHome. It was a nice thing to do. And what is with kids finding skulls out there by you?? Joe, here is the snow you said you wanted last night. I took it when I got up today. Have a great day all, Kev.

Brutus Made it home finally about 6:30 PM. It's a shame to go to another state and never see anything but the inside of a classroom, a cafeteria, or your dorm room. Oh well, one day I'll hope to get up there and do some sightseeing. It looks nice from the air. Nice chat with RT on the phone today, but his computer needs further work so it will be a couple more weeks without it. Further nice chats with Joe, SJ, John and Kevin tonight - a big gang! TARDIS is AWOL - anybody remember where you parked it?!?!

Welcome home Brutus.
Sorry about RT's Comp. Hopefully he will use the work or library Comp.
TARDUS is parked in the back pasture. Sorry about it being covered in mud and cow manure. I used it to round up the cows.

Good morning. It's 47° and mostly clear. The high will be 59° and it will be mostly sunny.I have a whole lot of nothing planned for today. I've been doing enough and I deserve a break today. Now my parents will probably think I need something to do and come up with bunches of 'do this' and 'do that' things. Got two the F7-A's decaled yesterday. I went and got an early morning shot of L&A #600. That's today's photo. The roof of Ezra Johnson's garage makes a great vantage point.

Konbanwa,
Today turned out to be a very easy Saturday. I was able to have a quick chat with SJ, Brutus, John, and Kev this morning. Afterwards, we decided to hang around the house and I finished wiring the UTB RR. I created some grooves in the foam so I could hide the block wires and also attached the toggle switches to the wooden frame. The wires are now hidden and everything looks clean. I wanted to take the family to a train museum located not too far from us, but it was too cold for the wife and kids. The museum has many outside attractions. Tomorrow we need to build some more Lego structures.
Banks - It looks like you should have some fun this weekend with the grandkids. The museum looks as if it has a lot to offer.
Dennis - I'm not surprised about Courageous; it is a great movie.
Jack – Comparing curry to grits is crazy. I guarantee you would like it after one bite. I’ll have to find the curry sauce the one restaurant uses and send you a bottle.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....
It is a cloudy 38 degrees. Going up to 40 today with some snow flurries.
Today is a busy day. I have a bunch of chores to do and a project to work on. I plan on a nap, later.
Dining car is here with an omlet for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Saturday.

...intelligence information...?
THE GREAT RAID
To obtain intelligence information we plied a good ol Suthern Boy with spirits last night. Needless to say it took several gallons. After we were able to get his mouth moving by threatening to put the wheels back on his house and hiding it, he came forth with Roseyville information. He said someone had really made a mess of the Roseyville Flat Prarie RR, whcih of course I credited to our artillary manned by Sgt. Blueberry frequent and accurate snow Ohio attacks. He also advised me to enter the community of Roseyville at a high speed, at least double the posted speed limit. Apparently, the radar gun in Roseyville manned by Roseyville Police Sgt. Fife is calibrated to handle mule drawn wagons speeding into town.
Now to put on my bibs and head north. This hooking tactic worked extremely well for past Buckeyes in the 1860s.

Tomorrow we take down the Christmas lights from the fire house for another year. And looks like I'll be painting the new conference room that was my Engineers room.

All for now.
Time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
Dang!!! How did Bob find that story about Buckeye and Roseyville. We thought we had that one under the covers.
Actually talked to the old rascal from Hunters Haven. Will see him tomorrow afternoon. Take him to Miss Edna's. Get him to help work on the box. [not really] Been a while since we visited.
Still real warm here.
Worked at Town Hall afternoon. Mainly on Wake County Mayors' Assoc. writing checks.
Later.

37 now, 40 was the high with afternoon sun. No train news today..S.J.
Bob, what a nice heirloom - and it works!Jack, the Elgin plant is long gone but the sub-station is still there.Dennis, I'm so jealous. I love Railway Modeler and British Railway Modeling! Can't find it around here anymore. Congrats on Courageous! One of the Marines from that Afghanistan helo crash of last week was from our town, and was laid to rest today. The cortege went past his high school (where my son also attends) and they let all the classes out to salute him. I thought that a nice gesture. My wife brought the youngest over too. RIP Capt. McHone.

Jack/Doug - actually it's an Illinois Watch, bought out by Hamilton in 1927. They made watches for various companies. This one is supposed to be made around 1918.

Home invasion yesterday, about 50 miles North of me in Southern Maine. Homeowners were not at home. The thieves put two slugs in the family dog who didn’t make it.
Last night’s foray up to Tewksbury MA. for a gathering with veterinarian techs, veterinarians, and dog training students was quite educational for both sides. Vets have little to offer to their customers’ dogs beyond pharmaceuticals when their customers’ dogs have behavioral issues. But the vet folks got an eyeful as we put on an obedience demo, a dozen dogs of every conceivable type. This convinced them that canine training cures a multitude of ills......75% of the demo dogs last night were rescue and shelter dogs, formerly incorrigible types. And when the leashes were dropped, so did the vets’ jaws. Meanwhile, our politicians turn a blind eye with their breed banning legislation when they should be targeting irresponsible dog owners.
SJ..........ya gotta turn down the temps and Chuck has to fire up the snow cannon, redirected Northeast. I am beginning to miss the white stuff this Winter, but not quite.
Fife........disappointing news on the property, better news on FifeMax's vet visit, and the best news on Fifepup's recovery.
Jeffrey......glad to hear you are bouncing back. Leave the phone off the hook and you should be OK.
DougM.......I also need a new cell phone, but I am less than enthralled at the prospect of jacking the monthly costs with a data plan, etc. I am trying to cut the overhead, not increase it. But I may have little choice.
SubmmBob......Illinois pocket watch? An “Elgin” perhaps? KEV and DougM live not too far from the town that used to manufacture them, Elgin Illinois.
Chief.........your subtlety is always good for my soul and puts a smile on my face even when I am feeling low.
California Boyz........our collective hearts go out to you guys suffering throught the warm temperatures while we freeze to death. Seriously, hope the Santa Ana winds don't wreak too much havoc and spread too many wildfires.
Don........thanks for the Knotts Berry pictures. I enjoyed them very much. Why do your co-workers have smiles on their faces?
JoeyD........I was glad to hear your poor choice in NY sports teams doesn’t extend to the football Giants. I forgot your football heart was in Fla. Curry? You can't convince me, no matter how hard you try. Almost in the same category as grits.
Colin........didn't know you were into firearms.
Dennis........sorry to hear you had some roof damage from the recent storms, but I hope the issues are covered by insurance.
Banks........our Christmas tree made it til January 17, sad it’s gone. But the Christmas layout keeps chugging away undisturbed. Wifey hasn’t made any attempt to reclaim her living room space. I wonder what she bought that would prompt such tolerance on her part?
Later, gang. TGIF everyone!!!!!

Good afternoon, Y'all! Been a great day here. Temps in the mid sixties and the sky is blue. Picked up some fruit trees that we will plant in the morning. Then came home to do some detail work on some buildings that I plan to place on the layout. Yesterday, I had gone to the local book store and picked up a copy of Railway Modeller, it is a British magazine that mostly deals in HO and OO scale trains. They have. A free signal box card kit from Metcalfe Models attached. They also have some tips on building it and on add ones that can dress them up. After looking at the photos, I think I should have looked at card kits more closely before spending so much on other buildings. I know CTT did some articles on card kits in the past, perhaps I need to revisit those issues.
Regarding the Yankee raiding party, you should also pack your over-alls if you're heading to these parts. If not, you will stick out like a sore thumb! You may also want to learn how to talk right, perhaps watch a little of Paula Deen, or other such informative programs.
Chief, hope things are getting straightened out on the box. Regarding the pile of clothes, you are a better man than I, as I would have used them for rags while building the layout.
Got some great news this morning, Courageous is now number one in DVD sales in the nation. It is amazing what God has done with this project.
Have a blessed weekend.

SubmmBob, is your new watch an Elgin watch? Though the factory is long gone, their logo is still on the clocks at Union Station, and even the indoor mall that is Dearborn Station.
submmbob Jeffrey - your soon going to have a whole train of F-units!

Hello all
Just above freezing right now w/ a fairly nice day on the mountain. We are starting the great engineering staff Friday exodus.
Don - neat pics from Knotts Berry Farm! It's cool that they are using original RR equipment.
Colin - that's encouraging to hear that at least some of the modern manufacturers are making operational improvements to the AR-15 rather than just cosmetic. Your friend has all the accessories on that rifle, only thing it lacks is a coffee maker! I actually had a guy wanting to trade an AR-15 like that for my lathe I recently sold. As good of a deal as it might have been, I told him I was really looking for just cash.
Found a replacement pocket watch on the bay yesterday. I dropped my 60's vintage Russian watch on my week off. Being Russian it does not have shockproof jewels and the balance staff broke. This is now my second. Tried to have the first repaired but a local shop wasn't able to find the right parts. As inexpensive as they are I just bought another. Found a good deal on an Illinois watch that should be easier to repair and considering it's 90+ yrs old and still working was a pretty good deal. I'm always poking around engines, electricity, and electronics so I tend to shy away from wrist watches.
Aloha. ! TGIF! My wife gave in last night and got a new fancy phone - now the whole family has them. Not looking forward to the first bill . So where's the rain and snow we're supposed to have today? Sunny and cool but super-hot in this office. Fife, that's going to be a big dog. I'm looking forward to running trains on the newly-refastenated track tonight.
Good morning. It's 41° and sunny. The high will be 61° and it will be partly cloudy.I got a fair nights sleep and I feel much better than I did yesterday. I may be busy for a bit today doing some prep work on the F7-A shells I found yesterday. That shouldn't take long. Other than that I have no plans for today.
Bright sun and 32 now . Looks like it will be a nice day.
Went to my old home town yesterday and hooked up with some of the guys. Had fun.
Neat pictures DonB

34 degrees with a shaker of white stuff this morning. Already melted.
Don B. thanks for posting the pictures...S.J.
Mornin' boys. Raining and 63 here in the Mid-Atlantic region (I'll take that over Snohizo any day). Fifepup had the hardware removed from his leg on Wednesday, and is recuperating on the couch. FifeMax got several shots yesterday, and is 16 lbs already at 3 months. Some news may be coming our way on the property we bid on. May be thinking in another direction...
TGIF.
rt - Thank you for the Christmas present. You are most thoughtful.
Hello all,

ChiefEagles If you made that Obama loving @#^* quit, the majority of the citizens of NC will declare you a hero. We will put a stature of you on our Capital grounds. She is so low in the polls against the Republican guy running, even the Dem party told her to quit. She has vetoed things like showing your picture ID at the poles to vote. Why wouldn't you allow that unless you knew there was fraud on your side?

Easy Chief, you'll bring on the big one.
Not a lot going on here. Bought a ton of coal Wed evening. It's too soggy to back the trailer into the yard so I'll have to wheelbarrow enough to get me by.
Going to take the grandkids to the open house here http://www.altoonatrain.com over the weekend.
The Christmas tree is still holding up good but Mrs and I will take it down this weekend. Sorry to see it go but it's time........
Buckeye , be careful and keep us updated
Best get busy. SS fund needs me.
Prayers for those in need
