Kev,

If I still had the sunfire, that would be the reason.Laugh  Would have been using a sledgehammer to remove the ice.Smile, Wink & Grin

There was a chip that was repaired with one of those DIY kits back in 05-06, and it looks like water got in and froze.  The crack runs from the base of the windshield up towards the center and ends about 3/4 of the way over on the right side.  As bad as it seems, it could be worse, as in rear quarter or hatch glass.

Hi all,

Balmy 34 degrees with dense fog.

Slow day, helped the neighbor with his snowmobile and put some shelves in my work desk. Not doing much on the trains till I get a reliable transformer. Got something wrong with my right foot. Feels like a brick was dropped on it. Hard to walk.??? Super Angry

Rich I installed a fire extinguisher by the train table. Tks,  Thumbs Up

Laz those pictures are kind of screwed up when I open them. Ones in the dark and the other is smaller that a postage stamp. ??  Confused is just me??

Jim Probe, How did that window crack? From the guy knocking the ice off of the windshield??  Laugh

Have a good night guys!

Kev.

KEV, nice pics of where you live.  Even with SNO HI O, these bouz from da south don't know what their missin.

Stay frosty,

Laz,

I don't know.  I think they know something that we don't.  Winter isn't worth it.  After all the ice this weekend, I've got a cracked windshield to deal with now.  I'll have to try to find original 97 production Auto Alliance glass (think it was made by Guardian Thumbs Down for Auto Alliance) to replace it.  No wonder it broke.

Not much else going on today (thankfully).

Spent a lot of time on layout this weekend.  Took some pics.  Manuscript almost done.  Even thinking ahead to the next addition (Stoney River Sub).

Middle daughter back at college.  Wifey sad.

Good evening all,

We were iced in all weekend in SE Indiana.  Finally thawed enough today for me to get gasoline for the cruiser tomorrow.  Supposed to thunderstorm tonight.  Better than Snohio at this point.  Watched US Women win 14-0 over Dominican Republic and then watched Manchester United win a close one over Arsenal 2-1 today.  The second game was on Fox network TV, yea!!!!   Arsenal had opportunities to win or tie but did not get the job done.  I had bacon and biscuits on the dining car for breakfast.  TBIL and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Hey Guys...

Short post...

Picked up the Princess from EWR, she's beat....partying before she left.

I'm tired as well...great night last night.  Picked up my 20 year active award...it's a beautiful plaque!

Also picked up the #2 responder of the year, I responded more than any other firefighter, #1 went to a Fire Police-man...he's retired.  We danced and had a few adult beverages and up to all hours....had a fire call at 0400...I um, didn't make it...Smile, Wink & Grin. SOOOO I partied as well....Smile, Wink & Grin

Parents should be home by 7.....and the routine will be back to normal.

LAZ - yeah that was a lousy game.  We can beat just about anybody but the Flyers and Bruins....Bang Head

OK, back to a quick clean up and I may take a nap in a few......

GO GIANTS!!!

Laz, the WBB version of the NS executive set are like the old Lionel F3 shells.  I think the railking set is something like that too.

Look forward to your pics.  The WBB set has fake ditch lights with just decals to simulate them.  However, some of the guys have put ditch lights in them and drilled out holes for same.

Got to run and get ready for church now.

later,

V8Vega

64 today. Rain Monday morning.

KRM I take it a Gator is a jeep, tractor, dune buggy, 4 wheel off road motorcycle type. or 3 wheel off road motorcycle type?

V8 , Sorry I thought everyone knew what a Gator is. They are calleded a side by side today.  Black Eye

Mine is the smallest one that John Deere made in 2005 when I got it. It is plenty big for our 8 acres and not so fast that I can’t let the kids drive it. I does a lot of work around here as well. I told the wife I wanted one for my birthday and I did not get one so the next day I went and got it myself. Laugh  Smile, Wink & Grin  Devil

Heres some pictures. I added the winch, bumper and side protectors. It has 1,150+ hours on it now. I ordered the optional lock up rear end and pressurised oil system. It has a set of chains for the winter snow. Yes

Tks, Kev.

Hi GUYZ,

Thanks GUYZ for the CONGAs on the F7s.  They are nice.

Cold start here at 13 and going up to 30 then freezing rain tonite into morning.  WIFE, MINNIE and I went crosscountry skiing yesterday.  Great fun, did about 3 miles and my MINNIE was a jumping machine in the 7 inches of SNO HI O!!!  Going to go at about 11 and do another 3 miler.  Neat, I didn't ski since last year but with all the running I'm doing felt great this morning.  Ran trains last nite after watching 2 hrs of BARRET JACKSON Auctions on SPEED Ch.  Nice cars high prices.  The New DAP NS F7s ran great sounded fantastic and babied them, running only 44 MPH.  So NO PILE UPs.

CHIEF, the DAP NS ABAs are different then the other ones we have.  We have the Railking version that were made into F3s.  The DAP has more detail with lit number boards, ditch lights, each A unit is powered, and each unit has smoke, and very fine detail on them.  The Railkings look just lie the DAPs in size and all but its just the fine detail that makes the difference. I'll try and get a few pics today of the two side by side if camera is powered up.

ANJDEVIL,Devils lost to the Flyers.  Come RICH get those guyz going.  Can't stand those Flyers!  I'm a Pens fan and just want to see those guyz get beat.

JEFF, I look forward to your pics everyday.  Kinda like having a cup o coffee in the morning to start the day.  Don't be so hard on yourself.  Sounds like you might even have to cut grass down there in LA.

KEV, nice pics of where you live.  Even with SNO HI O, these bouz from da south don't know what their missin.

Stay frosty,

27 and cloudy now. 30s for the day.

I had a chat with Brutus and Charlie last night. We have already elected a President so that's out of the way now. CTT has arrived here as well but I haven't gotten into it yet. Enjoy your Sunday..S.J.

Good morning. It's 63 with dense fog. The high will be 76 and there's a 20% chance of thunderstorms throughout the day. Rain chance will increase to 30% after dark.

No particular plans for today as I'm still sore. I got the cracked gear issue with the Athearn blue box F7 resolved yesterday. I still need to resolve the poor pickup issue. It improved somewhat yesterday after I changed the one wheel set so I'm reasonably confident my original evaluation of the problem is correct. Cleaning the bottom of the trucks and outer contact surfaces of the bearings with a pipe cleaner and some Krud Kutter should do the job nicely.

Hope you feel better, SJ and Jeff!  Laz - SCORE!  Chief - good work!  Bet that steak tasted great after all that work!  Doug M - watch those PILEUPS, you'll have to change back to your No Accidents in [0] Days sign!

Today started slow, but then we all went out to get our hair cut, son and I played a couple games together and watched some tv shows, and just watched the original Thomas Crown Affair movie.  New CTT showed up and it looks like a good one to me.

TROOPER!  How are you OT?  Been worried about you.

Had a nice chat with RT yesterday by phone.  Glad you are doing okay, bro.

TARDIS is ready, so let's get moving boys!

Nice score, Laz!  Feel better, SJ! Went to Chuck E. Cheese with the youngest today. He loves the place and apart from birthdays, we avoid it like the plague. So he had fun. And I survived. Then I had a sudden urge to clean the teen's room - whilst he's away this weekend. Good excuse to see that everything's Ok. Finally rested and ran some trains. Running more with the youngest tonight. Laz, good for you on the NS executive set find.  I like the MTH model too but settled for the WBB A-B-B-A set.  No sound but they run and look great.

Jeffrey, don't be so hard on yourself.  We do notice when one of us is having a bad time.  Hope you are feeling better soon.  I look forward to seeing what you have done with your trains each day.

I ran some trains for a little while today and managed to throw another rubber tire off of an MTH Alco PA unit.  That particular unit seems to shed them more than others.  Might just put some Bull Frog Snot on it.  Getting tired of taking the engine apart to change a tire.

Haven't caught up on my sleep any for the fact that my nephew has been rattling the windows all around the loop all day. I do feel somewhat better though. I got some work done on the Athearn blue box F7 chassis. I was right about it having a cracked axle gear. Front axle, rear truck, the gear was cracked all the way through. I pulled the wheel set and replaced it with a wheel set from an old blue box Alco PA2. The only difference is the new wheel set has sintered iron wheels while the other three wheel sets have nickel silver wheels.
