Good morning all,
Brent, I hope your little one gets over that nasty cough soon. Great picture with Santa!
Drizzle this morning with rain on the way. Getting ready for appointment with the hygentist at my dentist office today.
Doug, I have heard about loctite. I will use it if I have anymore trouble. How would you apply "just a little". Maybe on a toothpick or similar object?
Jeffrey, regarding pants, I wish I could buy them off the rack. I always have to have length altered since I'm an in between size. Also need expandable waist for middle age spread. Maybe I'm already past that at 75. That rusty baggage car must be an inspiration for your spray can talents.
Watched Annie Oakley on Sunday night movie for PBS. Betty Hutton was her usual full of it self. Reminded me of her performance in the Greatest Show on Earth.
Best of the Christmas season to all,

Dennisv8, that's a well know 'right-turn rule of retail' - a driver will usually choose to take a right turn into an establishment than cross traffic. That's why you see supermarkets on 4 corners of a big intersection.

Hi guys, Lunch break, Just slid down some heated up White Castle sliders with some milk and chips. Sunny and fair out today and I am glad, been working out side getting ready to take the car hauler up north on my trip to get the wifey’s antique horse drawn wheat seeder. There must be an un-written law somewhere that says anytime you need to use your trailer there will be problems with the lights. I had to only work on two of them but one was a fight. Roy, just ask any Bears fan who Teeebowww is today. .

A foot went through the ceiling? Wow guess you should be glad they are not suing you. Brutus, hope you and Char get better.

V8Vega $2.39!!!!!!!! or is it $3.39 I thought I did good today at $3.18 for gas.
Brent, I hope the princes gets over that cough soon. It is so hard on little ones when they are sick. Glad she smiled for the picture with Santa.
Jeffrey, that reading thing sounds cool does it take dictation and convert it to print to?

V-8 you hit correct keys for gas the cheapest I have seen it is $2.98.9 and cA. I thought was always higher than us on by about .30 to .50 a gallon. was just wondering if you hit the first two keys in reverse.
Afternoon all just got done talking to my cable company and manage to get about a $11 discount a month over last 2 years and no commitment either for the next 12 months. Gives me time to check a couple of things out for alternative of what I have now. still cable ( no extras) phone, and basic internet $140.00 seems a bit high to me.
Well cleared off extra stuff off the so-called train table and see I need to get either something for grass or something for snow. need to also find my short pieces of Gargraves and see if I have 2 same legnth between 4 and 6 inches so I can make it a little wider 6" would put it just about at the edge but all I have at present is a loop of O-42

Good Afternoon fellow CTT Fans,
Sorry I missed breakfast, W**K got in the way this morning so I didn't have a chance until now to make my morning rounds and stop in for coffee. Over the weekend I finally got all my old Camcorder video tapes uploaded to the PC taking up nearly 1TB (996GB) of disk. Now to get a backup copy to another drive for safe keeping.

V8 Dennis, that 2.39 for gas must be a typo. If there is anything that cheap in California, then I don't know about it. I'm still paying $3.50 or more per gallon.
Lowest price for gas in my area is $3.13.9. That would cost me $74.33 to fill my vans tank from empty.
Good evening guys. Had a good day. Went out and had a Nerf war with the kids...I won! Currently watching Coast Guard Alaska...cool show, those guys earn the praise they get for sure. Regarding Tebow, have been a fan since he was at Florida. He is a real stand up guy. I will cheer for Denver just because of him.
V8, regarding going to a place that has higher gas prices, the local Citgo has the cheapest gas many times, but I do not go there since Hugo Chavez is certainly anti American. Most times, the prices are within a few cents per gallon from each other.
Ray, regarding Loctite, it is great stuff. If you have a screw that may need to come back out, use the blue Loctite. If you are pretty sure it will not need to come out, use the red Loctite. In order to remove a screw that has had the red Loctite, you need to add substantial heat...think torch.
Kids are practicing violin, wife is out with the coworkers for their Christmas gathering. I get to play Mr.Mom. First order was to dispose of two fish who didn't make it. I hate when that happens.
Rich, glad you are back to full strength. I still pray for the right employment to come your way. Have you tried any area hospitals? Many have fleets of vehicles and several diesel generators that could use someone of your expertise. Just a thought.
Gotta run. God bless,
Dennis

Evening all!
Had a nice chat with Doug M this evening.
Ray - regarding the Loctite - use the blue as Dennis said. For a 4-40 screw all you need is one small drop on one side of the screw - about 3 threads worth.
Regards, Roy
Good Evening
34 right now.
Chief I'm with you, a doctor can't pinpoint every time frame but it should be within reason. I feel my time is important too. Banilla will be waiting guess a few A & Ws as well...S.J.

Busy friday & saturday, sunday was a kinda veg-out day with getting the Christmas trains ready for this friday. Won a nice Premier Southern Woodchip Hopper at the club Christmas dinner, the Better-Half also won a gift certificate for the Olive Garden. Not sure if there is anything on their menu I can eat but I'll check their website.
8n, Fab job on the PE table. If you were to replace the center "mountain" with a platform it would make one heck of a Christmas Tree layout.
Rained all day sometimes in buckets and never broke 50*, looks as if skies are clearing so it will be colder than a well diggers fanny tonite.
If the Broncos keep doing well with Teebo I can just see it coming, a limited edition Chevy in Bronco colors: "Teebo's Bowtie".

Cloudy and in the 40's today.
Blue Loctite is good stuff. Like Bryl Cream - 'a little dab will do ya'. I used it (Loctite) on the bolts holding the nitro burning two stroke engines together in my Radio Controled racing boats years ago. Wthout it, they would self disassemble from the vibration. Red Loctite is almost perminent - you need to heat it with a torch to make it turn loose.
All for now.
Hi GUYZ,
18 here again and frosty. Took my MINNIE DOG for a walk last nite and as fate would have it saw 16 deer. One masive buck about at least a 8 pointer and high beams. Go figure this always happens to me after the season is over.
Stay frosty,

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cold 22 degrees. Going up to 50 today with sunshine.
Today is a busy day. I have an errand to run and a bunch of chores to do. Maybe I'll get a short nap this afternoon. Exercises are going well.
Dining car is here with an omlet for breakfast.
Y'll have a great Tuesday.
Chuck
It is a cloudy day in SE Indiana. Did very little last night. Long day at work. Longer day today. Just counting the days until Christmas break. Found out all three kids will be home Christmas day. I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL. I had a rare treat this morning. I got to read the morning paper in its entierty before leaving for work. Early delivery means time to read. I hope eveyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Morning. Cold start but above freezing. Warming. Shooting rifles this AM after a visit to Bo's for a biscuit. Hunting deer down east tomorrow all day.
Have a good one.
Good morning. It's 46°F with patchy dense fog. The high will be 70°F and it will be mostly cloudy. The well car is finally done. Time to move on to another project. I don't have anything planned for today but I'm sure something will come up.
Konbanwa,
I used the new grill tonight to make some burgers for dinner. They came out great. We topped ours with cheese, bacon, and a fried egg. We never go out for burgers anymore, ours are always better. This is going to be a short post since I need to get some sleep.
Sayonara,

Good Morning
32/40 for today.
Well today is Friday the 13th so we are getting it out of the way early this week. A new OGR arrived yesterday,it has a Marx Christmas layout in it that I plan to read first. A chat with Charlie and Brutus last night finished my Monday...S.J.
Good Morning Fellow CTT Fans, it's 18F outside so bring on the pot of coffee please...
Getting rid of my old junk car today but after 120K it was a good ride while it lasted
Good Morning from the Heartlands, a warm day on tap with rains forecast for the next two days, can this really be winter? We'll take it!
What a weekend We left Des Moines very early Friday morning for a wedding -- in Tulum, MX. It was for a very dear niece who is one of our favorite kids, there was no question as to whether we would go. Great flights to Houston and then Cancun, our oldest son and his wife had just arrived minutes before us and we shared an arranged van ride to our resort about 90 minutes south of Cancun. Paradise would be the only adjective I could use to describe this area, unbelievable and honestly quite affordable.
Before we left Des Moines I did have some apprehension about going, there has been some bad press about MX, some deserved -- some not. There is a strong police presence everywhere, I felt safer there than some of the places I have traveled through in our own country. Obviously we were smart about where we traveled and we encountered friendly and helpful folks everywhere. Did I mention the weather?? Lower 80's every day and very comfortable at night, perfect. The wedding was Sunday afternoon and picture perfect. We did fly home yesterday and arrived about 10:00 PM, wish we could have stayed longer but commitments here dictated we return.
I think the winter of 2013 will find us returning for a much longer visit. To keep this train related: we didn't see any trains or tracks We do have much to be thankful for living in this country, it's always good to travel and it's always good to be home.
Jon
So many roads, so little time.
Darren,
What is it that you are getting rid of? 120K is low mileage for me with 192,750 on a 97 Probe GT, and 135,846 on a 91 Probe GL. They have been better to me than a 2000 Sunfire that I had with 90K that was falling apart and rotting despite being well maintained. Traded it in on an 07 Mustang GT Premium with 43K in June, and that was the best thing I've ever done.
The Christmas tree has been decorated and all five loops are down, and I just need to bring some trains up from the basement. Need to get offline and get moving. Waiting on UPS to deliver the Mac axlebacks that I ordered for the Mustang for Christmas.
I just got the news that my parents phones are working again. It's about time. I called it in to the company Friday so they Friday and Saturday to do something about it and nothing was done. Yesterday I was about to blow my stack so I called the company again and went to the top. Finally somebody got off their butt and did something. A tech turned up yesterday and '"took care" of the problem. We'll see how long that lasts.Tweaked the voice on my computer a little more and now it sounds more like Peter Ustinov.
Dennis et al, thanks for the tips on using Loc Tite. I do have to be able to take the screw out sometimes in order to change tires. However, it is not the screw but the sleeve that it screws into that needs to stay put so I would put the adhesive on that part.
V8 Dennis, glad to hear that you got your dental work done. I know you must be relieved now. Thanks for the kind words about age.
Chief, I can identify with the long wait at the doctor's office. Sometimes, I have to wait for an hour and then another long time after I get in the examination room. Fortunately, it doesn't happen all the time. I like my doctor so I don't want to make any changes. Good luck on the deer hunt down East.
S.J., I must have missed something. December 13th is Tuesday here.
Looks like our rain has stopped and the lawn is happy. There is snow in the mountains and just in time for Christmas. Saw White Christmas on TV last night for the umteenth time but always good. They also showed Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase. Doesn't seem as funny as before. I think I have seen it too many times
Two Christmas parties tonight. Will do dinner at one and desert at the other.
