Hello all
Clear and cold back at home right now. Have not lit the heater yet. The house was in the 40's when I got home last night. Just closed the door to the bedroom, started the space heater, and crawled under the covers.
Came back after the Covair club Christmas party and crawled under the house tonight to light the heater. Should be in the 50's by morning. The heater is an old radiant floor unit circa 1939. Keeps the pipes from freezing and raises the gas bill significantly, but that's about it.
Jack - most amusing! Doubt I will ever have kids. Can't deal w/ myself somedays.
Time to hit the sack. Early meeting in the morning.

Not quite sure what the weather was today. Was one of THOSE days when it was dark whein I drove in and dark when I drove home.
Didn't get to the voltage splitter tonight, as I fell asleep when I sat down in front of the TV after dinner. I did work on more scenery and got an 027 loop added for the elf hand car and the lights hooked up in the Polar Express passanger platform. Going to come out about even for showtime on Saturday.
Still waiting on my package from Charles Ro.
I managed to snipe a Department 56 boxcar on E-bay last night for cheap.
Jack - I really got a chuckle out of the spare pots and pans.
About all for now.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cold 25 degrees. Going up to 40 today with a slight chance of rain. We don't need any more rain.
Today is a busy day. Lots of chores to do and a project to work on. Still do not have an e-mail set up. Maybe today.
Buckeye & LAZ..... TGIF
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Friday.

TGIF to those of you that it works for. Always Friday for me. Cold, cloudy 23 degrees. Some residue hit us from the snow cannon last night. First snow of the year for us. Only about ½" but that is enough. Nice chat with the Tardis crew last night. I am in their drivers Ed Course. No keys for me yet. Waiting for Brutus to get them out of the toilet where he lost them. Have a good one, Kev.

Good Morning fellow CTT Fans!
It's 16F with Fog this morning but who cares, it's FRIDAY!!!!!!! Got more video tapes uploaded last night but will a ways to go. Had this old camcorder since 1999 so lots and lots of tapes to get through. Weather forecast looks to be good to finish up the X-Mas lights outside this weekend.

Good morning. It's 40° and cloudy. The high is due to be 55° with some sun and clouds.Got a call from the docs office yesterday about some kind of paperwork that had to be signed. They wouldn't tell me what it was. Went there this morning to see. They say it's a prescription review and since I'm out of doctors visits for the year I have to pay for the visit. That's nearly $100 I can't spare. Since January is only twenty-two days away and my doctors visits are reset then I told them it can wait. After it warms up later today I'll get started on applying some decals to the containers that came with the well car. A general dusting and some signs of wear should do for the weathering.

Good morning all,
It is cloudy in SE Indiana with a sprinkling of Snohio. RI52, I concur with Doug's assessment of your post. Perfect and so appropriate. Brutus, I parked the Tardis behind your garage the last time I used it. Check there. Work goes well. Did 4 miles walking at the YMCA Wednesday night. I see where SFR has a new American driver for her Indy car and a new partner, Hatmann Oli, as well. So now it is SFHR. Going to see "Hugo" tonight. Went to see daughter's choir perfrom at lunch yesterday. Very good show. I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast. TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Hello all,

The predicted snow never came.(Thankfully)
88 back when GFI's were new and expensive that's how they did it. Also made for lots of nuisance trips. All of your outlets are now GFI?
Jack, wish I'd had some one like you to instruct me 30+ years ago.
The gas wells are about 5 or 6 miles west as the crow flies and several hundred feet higher. About the time they started drilling my water went from hard to very very hard with a different taste. Coincidence? Maybe. My son has a lease on his 40 acres. it amounts to about $500 per year until they drill. If they drill he gets a pecentage. The numbers he talked about would not be enough to live on but would be a nice supplement.
Hunting and Christmas decorations are in the plans for this weekend.

It's a sunny and warm afternoon. Still trying to get this e-mail working. Windows 7 stinks.
I may try to go down to the basement this weekend. I need to run trains.
Aloha all. Nice ride with the Tardis crew last night. Missed it. Well, felt so poorly this am I went to the doc and came home with a few things to take to treat this thing and whatever secondary infections I have too. The best part is a doc note to rest for 3 days - and not do anything. Never done that before. I plan to frame the note. . Roy, don't see the PM.

DougM,
Did you get the big needle in the rear or just pills? A three-day note on Friday is not that much help unless it starts on Monday.
Roy, the shed has not dropped below 48 degrees yet so I can’t tell if the thermostat switch is working yet. Must be living off of slab head and I was working in there yesterday and had the heat on. Going into the teens tonight so maybe I will know tomorrow how low it will go.
Chuck, basement, basement, basement, basement!
Jeffrey, who said the health car system here does not need fixing??? I can’t believe they can limit your doctor visits.
Well the wifey will soon be home so I better look like I am doing something. Guess I will go stand in the laundry room for when she comes through the door.
Later,
Ohayō,
It is a beautiful Saturday morning here; the sun is shining and it is brisk. The 17-month-old woke up a little earlier than I would have liked, but he and I are the only ones awake right now so it is somewhat peaceful. Last night I took the older two kids to see Arthur Christmas. It was showing at the base theater. I'm not sure when it was released in the States as we sometimes get our movies later overseas. It was a very good movie and it had plenty of clean humor the kids and I could enjoy. It is playing again today at 1600 and we may go again. However, we do have some usual Saturday chores to complete. Specifically, we need to get to the post office to ship some presents back to the States.
Jim SP - I'm sorry for the late response. On base, I don't recall any huge Pearl Harbor Day ceremony; however, I'd suspect the Navy bases would do more. The Air Force bases usually mention it in the news cast or with an article in the base paper. It may have been low key here since we are in Japan. I am not sure how the Japanese view it. Since I am still pretty new here I didn't want to ask any of the Japanese folks who work in my office. On Monday I will ask one of my coworkers who speaks Japanese and has lived here for about five years.
Jack - That was a great post. As I was reading it and laughing our 17-month-old threw a tennis ball at the computer screen. I am actually the one in our house who breaks the "No balls in the house rule." And now the matchbox cars are flying.
Sayonara,
Joe

Chuck.......is this the first time?
I apologize for the exceedingly long post to RT about childproofing and taking care of kiddies while the wife is out. Once I got rolling I couldn't stop. RT teased Brent with something to the effect "How hard can it be?"
When the kiddies are not mobile, it isn't bad at all. But once they get their feet under themselves, it is a different story. The newfound freedom goes right to their head!!!! And off they go.
I would like to say that the whole thing was meant to be humorous; and I was hoping the guys with children and grandchildren would get a good laugh because much of what I posted wasn't far from the truth. My house isn't set up too well for the grandchildren because my wife has too many low lying temptations for them.
Spent part of my day trying to get dried up ice cream off the kitchen chairs, compliments of the gradndkids, of course.
The fact of the matter is, taking care of the grandkids is a joy. And they usually go home at night.

Howdy all. Yanks must have slipped in to Edgecombe Co. and stole all the deer. Saw only squirrels. Actually no tracks in the fields since rain [day before yesterday]. This is a first. Usually fresh tracks everywhere. ?????
Off again tomorrow morning before light and return dark 30.
Dennis, got my new Remington 700 CDL Boone and Crocket .30-06 with Luepold 3.5 to 10 X 50mm Boone and Crockett scope. Even the sling matches the .243. Now I have big brother and little brother. They look identical.
Later.

Time for me to call it a night. Got what feels like cramps in the rib muscles on my right side so time to take some muscle relaxers and try to get some sleep. See y'all tomorrow.
Good evening everyone. Tried to post earlier, but for some reason, site was locked up. Was a early day with just a few minor procedures. That was till I left, heard they had a bigger case this afternoon, but I was long gone. Picked up some supplies for the violin recital tomorrow. Father in law is heading down for the recital, so we had some straightening to do.
Chief, that sounds like a great rifle, is it glass bedded? My 300 sniper weapon is pillar bedded so that I can completely remove it from the stock, tear it down and put it back together without changing zero. If yours is not bedded, you might want to have a gunsmith take care of that. It is a 300WM, so they don't walk away. I have a buddy who has the 700BDL, it is a tac driver. We have fun shooting golf balls at 500yds.
Joe, from what I hear, the Japanese people are pretty stoic, so it may be hard to read their emotions. I think they are more sensitive to the way the war ended for them verses how it began. We are a lot more forgiving that the Chinese with regard to WWII. There is still much hatred since the "rape of Nanking".
Had a funny thing happen today. I had bought my wife some red velvet and some carrot cake cupcakes. When I got home, she was nice to share with me and then tells me that she had had to "sample" the cookie dough I had bought earlier.

Good Evening all
27 now, a cold wind today. We went out late afternoon to eat and froze our yatzee's off. We haven't adjusted yet. Sadness at # 1 son's house today, the family cat was found dead in the road. She was a good hunter, really good at catching rabbits. She will be missed. Banilla is ready but I'm waiting inside tonight..S.J.
Edit: Jack your tale of parenthood was very well done and quite accurate.

Usually fresh tracks everywhere. ????? Chief: Yeah this "Yank" has all of the North Central IL. squirrels running your way. I shot Red's wifey today and gave her to the coyote bait pit next door. May they rest in peace. All the rest of the squirrels were heading southeast last I looked. Lots of deer here they must be coming from your way. Buy the way it takes a lot better shot to hit a little old squirrel than a great big deer, anybody can do that! Kev.

I shoot squirrels with my pellet gun. With the .22 mag and .17 HMR, I shoot their heads off.
Good night. Up at 4 AM.
ChiefEagles "I shoot squirrels with my pellet gun. With the .22 mag and .17 HMR, I shoot their heads off." Well yeah !! .22 mag and .17 HMR, I shoot their heads off. That should shoot their heads off! I use a sling shot, BB gun, and a 22 LR. I need to leave something for bait. Kev.

Chuck - yes - basement is a healing process!
Doug M - I think I forgot to complete the PM. Got it off to you tonight.
Concrete guys showed up today! We have a new sidewalk! Will be able to walk on it Sunday. It is stamped decorative concrete and it has a heavy dusting of dry dyed concrete. They will be here Sunday to wash it down. Looks great so far! Has to cure for 2 weeks and then they come and finish the coloring and then seal it. Sort of a rock face surface, pecan colored and will have a walnut colored border. SWMBO is pleased!
Long day today with meetings starting at 7 am and wrapping up with a little customer event from 5 to 6:30, then met wife and friends for dinner. Gourmet Tex-Mex.
Calling it a day. Have a great day tomorrow!
Regards, Roy
Mornin' boys. Kowabunga Demay. Partly cloudy and 38 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Today is the big day for setting up the bank layout. Half of it is loaded in the truck already (takes two trips). Hope to be all finished by the time wifey gets off. Gonna start things off with a PRR Mikado (MTH 2.0) and some freight.
