SJ,
Had to check the calendar when I read your post.
After 14 separate trips down to the basement and one PS2 battery scare, there are trains on 3 of the 5 loops. Taking a break. Right now, I am working on setting the Sega CD startup tune as my phone's ringtone.
green97probe Darren, What is it that you are getting rid of?
Darren,
What is it that you are getting rid of?
It was a 1995 Dodge Intrepid ES. The AC electronic sensor started to fail awhile back so when you needed AC the most it would not turn on. Then the Driver side Bucket Seat broke and I had a brace holding it up so I could drive from the front rather then the back. The final kicker was the engine gasket failed and Preston went into the engine with unknown damage to the internals. All repairable but at a cost way above it's worth and with our age/health it was getting tough to get in/out of with it's low profile. Plates, Emissions and Insurance were all do in January which meant it had to be operational so junking it made since before putting another dime in it.
Got some photos and low-res video taken on our X-Mas "Train Tree" today and plan to get some outdoor shots tonight. It's N-Scale going around the tree this year but I will post a home movie video here once it's ready

Young Mr Parks had a slight accident when he was helping he perform preventive maintenance on my van. He had just checked the tranny fluid level and was putting the dipstick back in when the radiator fan clipped one of his knuckles. Luckily it was only a glancing blow and just took some skin off. Not serious but I bet it smarts. He was lucky. It could have been much worse. I had put a new fan and fan clutch on it last year. I warned him about the fan when he raised the hood It's not like those electric ones that you disable by unplugging the relay. As long as the water pump is turning the fan is turning. Like his parents say, he will be more careful next time.

Yep them fans can smart. and sometimes because how fast there going if your not use to it, it may look like nothin is there.
Evening all not a lot going on here tonight. Just relaxing had a good day at work.
Nothin train wise going on really. Have a couple of low priced items up for sale on the bay.
Yesterday I discovered one of my PA-1 has some serious sparking between the top of the truck and the frame and some of it was even the blue color sparking so it got my attention real quick. Will have to look into that more later down the road don't really feel like getting into that at this point. maybe after the holidays not sure what the cure will be but may try putting electrical tape on top of the truck or on the bottom side of the frame as then theres no room to arc lol will see later as I said. While at it may change traction tires as they do look a little old.

Good Evening
39 with rain expected before morning. An uneventful day, just goofed it away. Going out tomorrow with my train friend, Heading to Wild Bills Trains. Gonna try and keep my hands in my pockets. Ready for the thingy with banilla in the freezer...S.J.
I learned my lesson alright. That hurt! I could see the edges of the fan as it was spinning. I could look down and see the edge at the side of the radiator and guessed at how close it was to the dip stick. I guessed right when I pulled the dip stick out but miscalculated when I put it back in and I got tagged. I blame nobody but myself. It was due entirely to my own carelessness. Next time I may paint the tips white so they will show up better. That was a trick used on prop driven aircraft in World War 2.

Aloha from the evening of a busy day. Hope you're OK, David. Glad you had a nice trip, Jon. I took the youngest into Chicago today. We left before sun-up, caught an early train, visited the Art Institute - it was very quiet there - then took him to our work Christmas party, finally jaunted up to see Santa at Macys nee Fields - where they had a nice set-up just like in A Christmas Story. Then walked back to the train station through a German Christkindlmarket and saw the city's big tree. All together a tiring day. Quick jaunt tomorrow (about as quick as 12 hours in the car means) to pick up the daughter at college and return....

Had a great day. All three rifles shot great. The old 742 still is great. The new 700 did great. The M14 had never been shot in. It is a tack driver. National Match barrel. Heavy joker. Can't believe I carried one of those for a long time. Taking it tomorrow for the deer hunt.
Leaving around 5 AM.
Sleep tight. [dogs peed and cats in]

Good late evening boys...
Just got back from Hamilton Twp had a stand by at Station 17 for 3 hours...multi alarm house fire.
Not much going on, job search continues, but have been doing the fire thing and selling trees. I have to shop Friday with the little cash that is left. No biggie, others are worse off than I.
Princess has finals this week and performances Friday and Saturday. I saw the previews, most impressive! She really can dance!
OK off to bed. A wee bit chilly, but ok.
See ya tomorrow...Happy Birthday John Bakeer!

Evening all!
Cloudy damp day today but no rain. Rain tomorrow supposedly.
Hope all are well.
Have a great day tomorrow all!
Regards, Roy
Chilly and fair but warming into the 60's. Driving down east to hunt.
God bless.
Good morning guys. Chief, good and safe hunting to you sir. I have never owned a m14, but have shot them. They are a fantastically accurate rifle. Jeff, I hear you on the gas and don't blame you. Here, I have three.stations in the same stretch of road and have a choice. Also, that photo of you by the baggage car is the first time I have seen you without the beard.
Jon, glad you had such a great trip. With the added mouths to feed here, we will certainly be looking towards more reasonable vacations. By the way, I see one great state above Florida that is not colored in on your map...why is that? Will have to fix that!
Been real busy with work lately. We had an emergency case come through the doors yesterday afternoon. While it was not my case, I did have to oversee a junior partner as it was a very complicated type of surgery. Regarding doctor visits, it depends on the type of doctor and what their responsibilities are. We can all relate to emergencies that come up and keep us from our scheduled work, but our practice here is that you have scheduled office hours and partners who handle most emergencies if you are in the office with patients. In larger towns, a lot can be said for a practice with several M.D.s, but in smaller towns, it would be rare to find a group of several Physicians in one office. Here, if someone is alone in there practice, they are either new, or they don't play well with others.
Ray, I agree regarding the high price of parking for such events. Hard to justify. Of course, I was at the hotel Del Coronado and checked out the home. Prices out that way... If real estate is that high, they may need to charge a lot for parking, just to keep the doors open.
Gotta run. Pray that each of you has a blessed day.

Good morning all,
It is rainy in SE Indiana. Wife and I worked on Christmas cards last night. About halfway done. Did very well at office "White Elephant" exchange. Scored a nice pair of earrings for wife, which she absolutely liked. Major points there. Watched "Glee" Christmas. Show is getting back to what made it so appealing. Good music and over the top laughs. I had cereal and a cinnamon roll on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Hi GUYZ,
35 and nice here. Saw the BIG BUCK again last nite. He's really letting me have it this year.
Stay frosty,

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is 40 degrees and raining. Going up to 50 today, with more rain. This is crazy weather.
Today is a busy day. I have a doctor's appt. for a routine check-up. Should go good. I will be busy most of the day.
LAZ... We see, at least, 4 deer daily, walking thru our yard. Wife feeds them.
Dining car is here with an omlet for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Wednesday.
Chuck
Our warmer temps and rain continue, weird weather for sure. Our ground is not frozen and that's very unusual but the farmers are loving this rain. It's been very dry here since July so this rain is quite welcome as it's all soaking in.
Dennis -- I know that wonderful state just above FL is not covered in and I'd sure like to remedy that. IF I don't run my hand through the table saw again, next spring could possibly work. Spring seems like the perfect time to head south as I just can't tolerate the super hot and humid days of summer any more.
My problem is this: I think I have two, maybe three years of long distance trips left in me. I turn 67 soon and I can feel the internal bass drum starting to slowly bring the tempo down. My primary goal in traveling this summer, on the bike, will be Yellowstone/Tetons & Glacier, it's objective #1 -- it's the only trip still on the bucket list. That will happen in 2012, maybe late summer or Labor Day weekend.
So many roads, so little time.
Jon
Good morning. It's 56 and mostly cloudy. The high will be 71 with variable clouds. There's a 10% chance of rain today going up to 40% this evening.Nothing on the layout front today. I have to be at a Christmas dinner at noon so I'll be leaving here a bit before 11:00 this morning.
Morning all 41 presently going to be 70 befor the day is done thou. Not much going on I'm doing my part right now to suport chief and don.
Talk to you all later
Good Morning
37 with rain all day.
I'm waiting for my friend to pick me up. We are going out for breakfast and then to the train store. I hope I keep my hands out of my pocket. Don't need any more stuff. Had a nice chat with Charlie and Brutus last night. . . .S.J.
Good Morning fellow CTT Fans.
It's 29F this morning and I need coffee NOW! Now where in the heck is my morning paper as it's not on the driveway so which one of you took it. Beware of the Stourbridge Lion today he's in a grumpy mood.
Good Afternoon,
Taking a quick lunch break.
Took all the kids to Cincinnati over the weekend to celebrate youngest daughter’s birthday, she is 29. We had a great time, kids love their Aunt Anna. Had breakfast at a little diner called Sugar and Spice that she goes to frequently. They knew it was her birthday and made a big deal of it.
While in Cincy went to Union Terminal and went to the big train display depicting downtown Cincy, if you have never seen it is really neat.
The CG&E Christmas display was moved from downtown to the Terminal and was very nice as usual. Alas, of the vintage trains on display no American Flyer to be seen.
In the Terminal as well is an Imax theater and the movie is of the Canadian Rail expansion through the western Rocky Mountains. Very very good.
After that we went shopping (bleh) then to the Cincinnati Zoo, all in all a great weekend.
On the train front got another Marx tin plate set off ebay. Took off running well after a little oil. The tin plate is very addictive. Making it even more attractive is the Marx prewar trains are relatively inexpensive and reliable. Great combination. When I do get to build another layout, there will most likely be a three rail loop to run the Marx.
I have most of the sheetrock hung in the addition. Need to get the bathroom plumbing in before I finish the rock. I get to it when I can. Bride happy with progress so life is good.
Got to go.
May God bless
Jim

CHUCK, they are probably Pennsylvania deer that snuck across the border. Seems like they are everywhere but in the woods. Tell your WIFE to keep getting them fat and maybe I'll have to start hunting in OHIO.
Went to both Christmas get togethers last night. I went to the one with the dinner while my wife had to be at the other one with church group. I joined her after the dinner. Dinner was very good except steak was well done when ordered medium. I was in a hurry to rejoin the wife, so I did not send it back. Otherwise the dinner was nice including snacks before dinner, soup and salad, entree with potato or rice and desert with coffee. At the second party, I was too stuffed to eat anything else except coffee and cranberry cake.
Doctor appointment at 1:00PM today for routine visit with foot doctor.
Looks like AMC is running "White Christmas" constantly. I like the movie but that seems like overkill.
Son and I will tackle the cleaning of our swimming pool and filter this afternoon. Lot of dirt blown in during last wind storm.
Have a good day all,
Ray

Evenin' boys. Evenin' English. English. Grandbaby has been here in the evenings, so I ain't been surfin'. Did get the bank layout finished on Saturday to rave reviews. Go to pick up middle princess from campus tomorrow.
jonadel - Your innerds are telling you to go sailing. With me.
W&LE rolled across my district again today...and me with no camera on hand.
OhayĆ,
I was up late last night doing schoolwork and I never had time to post so I am doing now before I leave for work. I should have a relatively easy day at the office today. It's in the upper-40s right now and very sunny and clear. I should be able to clearly see the top of Mt. Fuji as I drive in to work - it is pretty awesome to look at.
Laz - Perhaps you can feed the big buck as Jon does. That way he'll be there next year.
SP Ray - I agree about the overkill. I enjoy all the popular Christmas movies, but I don't understand the 24-hour marathons. However, the Peanuts and claymation movies are usually only on once and I would like to see them more.
SJ - If you didn’t keep your hands in your pockets, you can always send your purchases as Christmas gifts.
Has anyone heard from Traindood, AF Ray, or Hudson John recently?
