Evening all!
It has been hard to post with the pain in the neck/shoulder. The good news is I got into the specialist today and he is confident the problem is an inflammed nerve possibly due to a small bone spur in the neck. (C5/C6 for Dennis). Next step is an MRI Monday (they did more X-Rays today) and therapy followed by possibly a steroid injection into the area. The doc did a nice job explaining the X-Rays and gave me a copy. So it still aches, burns, tingles really bad but I least I have a better idea of what is going on and what can be done about it. Still a road to follow but at least some light at the end of the tunnel?
Getting ready for York. Leave here Tues evening. Will be there Wed through Saturday. Looking forward to the break and some toy train time.
Ray - it is a real experience working through pain every day. Dealing with the neck/arm is a whole lot easier than dealing with one's back.
DJ - nice littel layout. I may have to try Shutterfly again. I tried it when it first stated up and I got unmercilessly spammed by them once I signed up plus the application tried to take over every graphic function in my PC. Took a day to clean it out.
Doug M. I may have a chance to be back in Chicago in mid-Dec. I will let you know if it firms up.
Might get some rain this weekend. We sure need it. Over 10" behind for the year. At least the grass has quit growing.
Have a great evening all!
Regards, Roy
Good evening all,
I didn't have time to post last night. I was up late finishing a paper after I watched the Yankees lose. Hats off to the Tigers; they have some great pitching. Today was a busy day at school and I'm glad we are off for three days. A few of my teammates and I went out for Korean BBQ tonight. It was very tasty. It was nice to see the Brewers win tonight as well.
DJ Spanky - The Halloween layout looks pretty neat.
Jack - Congrats to the wife.
Good night,
Joe
PS - neat Halloween layout, Spanky DJ
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
SJ and Charlie - big congrats on the Tigers!
Had a crappy day at work, everything was messed up. Oh well, I've got a 3 day weekend now Light that thingie and let's get a move on!
DJSpanky Alright, testing posting pictures from Shutterfly... Hmmmm.....gotta copy the url of the image - what a pain that it doesn't automatically give it to you.

DJ,
All I ever have to do with my Shutterfly pictures is to open one window for Shutterfly and right click and "copy" the photo I want, and then open a second window for the CTT thread and right click and "paste" the photo into the body of the post that I am writing. The software for the CTT thread automatically resizes the photos.

Good evening everyone. Getting place set up for the visitors. I am looking forward to some sleep. Banks, here is a link to the theaters in PA, so if one is near you. It will be released in more theaters soon. http://www.courageousthemovie.com/theaterlist/state/PA/
When I came home today, I found a rather large hawk in my driveway. He may have had a small bird, or some animal in it's talons, he flew into one of the trees and I didn't see him after. Was neat to see him fly through the trees.
Spanky, The Train-station is having their sale this weekend. If you haven't gotten a flyer, you may want to go to their web site. I have a few things I am interested in.
God Bless,Dennis

Good Afternoon Ya'll From Cool and Clear Taxachusetts,
Sorry for being MIA the past week but we've been busy. Starting last Saturday the wifey and I have been attending the Doberman Pincher Club of America's annual National conformation, obedience, and working dog events, held this year in Fitchburg, MA. Pam entered Maximus the dog in two Rally Obedience trials, scored two first places in their Novice competition level, and brought home the first title we have ever put on a dog.
I am so proud of my wife. She set a goal for herself and for our dog, worked hard and consistently, and she refused to quit even when we had our share of training setbacks. To step out in front of a discrimminating crowd and one's competitors, and under the watchful eyes of the judges, is nerve wracking. To do so at a national event, even more so. But she and Maximus delivered the mail, when it counted.
Later, gang.
Jack
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Hello all
Dennis, it isn't in the local theaters yet. They have nothing I care to see. Tonight'll be a REDBOX nite
Prayers for those in need

Good afternoon everyone. Went in early, did a little work and came home. Had to pick up letters of employment for the adoption. For some reason, I didn't get a good night sleep, so hope to hit the sheets early tonight.
Banks, hope you do get to see Courageous soon. Let me know what you think of it.DougM., Thanks for the information. There is a lot there and it seems that I will be able to use the iPad for a lot of education purposes with the kids.Chief, I have the same two-man stand, but it is sitting in the back yard. I also have a few of the smaller automatic feeders, but am not filling them till after the peaches are done...don't want to attract too many deer to the fruit.
I have a "honey do" list that I have to get to for the pending visitors this weekend. Hope everyone has a great weekend.Dennis
Chief, thanks for the photos. That stand looks simple and strong. I had envisioned something like a wooden platform up in a tree or something.
Got a birthday coming up on the 13th. It will be the big 75 for me and the grandson will be 14 on the 17th. I remember I was at the Oct. York meet when he was born. He wants an electric guitar for birthday. He has been taking lessons. He already has a keyboard and plays violin in the school orchestra.
Nice weather today with lots of sun. Enjoying cooler weather while it last.
later,
Ray

Aloha from another beautiful Fall day in Chicago. And TGIF. Fortunately, that wreck is about 100 miles away, Chief. What a mess. That ethanol can be explosive stuff. Dennis, congrats on your new toy, I'll send you a list of apps for you to consider.

TIGERS WIN, the mighty Yankees have struck out. Even I could not believe it. Fog this morning but burning off fast with the bright sun. A quick trip to Kroger and I'll see how things go from there..
Another Friday already...S.J.
Mornin' boys. Another pretty day. Thanks Doug. First day off. Wash clothes. Wash car. Buy roses. Take Fifepup to doc. Sound like Chief.
Morning. Another pretty day. Got a little sinus thing going on.
Wonder if Doug M. is caught in the blocked RR where there are ethanol tank cars on fire????
Hopefully more "my stuff" day again.
Back to the coffee.

Hello all,
TGIF
'nother busy week coming to a close and a busier weekend ahead.
Chief, here in Pa hunting over "bait" is against the law. I've always been a stand and watch guy but I'll sometimes meander a few steps and then stop a few minutes and move on. Son has a stand very similar to yours. He has had good luck from it the last couple o years.
Soybeans and corn are both getting close to harvest.
May try to take in Courageous over the weekend.
SS fund calls. try to get back tonight.
PS.
YANKERS LOOSE!!!!!

Hi GUYZ,
38 and nice here going up to 70 today. Going to pull weeds then have fire with WIFE. Beauty of a day yesterday played GOLF, lost to BRO, drank some beers afterwards to drown my sorrows.
BRUTUS, I only get to listen to BOB and TOM for about 10 minutes going to school. I only have about a 17 minute drive so, no I didn't get to hear hime. I'll try and find it somewhere online.
CHUCK and BUCKEYE, TGIF!!!!
Stay frosty,
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cold 48 degrees. Going up to 70 today with sunshine.
Today is an easy day. Exercises and the usual things to keep busy for a few hours. Then, I will relax and enjoy reading my new magazine from CTT. Great photos of Lionel layouts.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Buckeye & LAZ....... TGIF
Y'all have a great Friday.
Chuck
Evenin' All.
Heck of a ballgame tonite !
Hasn't been a good week, we'll see how it goes at the museum tomorrow.
Brutus, Ratzenberger was on O'Rielly tonite and the group he was promoting can be found at http://centerforamerica.org/ . Essentially what he was saying is common sense, but when you see what's taking place in NY it's apparent that that no longer exists.
Tired, signing off.

Howdy guys - one more day, I think we can make it from here :)
Chief, that's a heck of a setup man - very cool!
Laz - did you hear John Ratzenberger on the Bob & Tom Show this morning? Very funny and he had a really good point about shop in High School. You might want to check and see if it's available online somewhere?
Nice chats with SJ and Charlie. The thingie is lit, so let's get going!
Tired. Full day down east. Popcorn time.
SPMan Chief, not sure I understand the logistics of deer hunting from a stand. I only hunted small game when I was young. Did I understand correctly when you said you were putting out feed for the deer? Would that be under the deer stand? Seems like that would be like chumming for fish. Just asking. Ray

Ray, here is the type I use. I like the doubles so I can move around more freely. Some you climb the tree with and do not have ladders. Mine are locked to the tree and the steps sections locked with cable. Folks would steal them.
The feeder I use is simular to this. Has battery operated timer that turns on for a few seconds and slings corn [or feed pellets] on the ground for them to eat.
Sunny, about 80 here today.
EF went up several notches today at work. Ought to stay elevated for several months, too. It was announced that, pending customary approvals, the company I work for was purchased today. This will the third time in my career that I've been a spectator for this sort of thing.
All for now.
Good evening
A nice day in the 70s, I got the grass cut but not trimmed. Read a little CTT as well. Banilla is waiting for Brutus to light the fuse and send the thingy this-a way..S.J.
Good evening guys. Roy, glad you are feeling better. I have been suffering from neck and back pain as I had to move a bunch of furniture so the guy could come and clean all the carpets. I may be crippled, but SWMBO has clean carpets!
Ray, I pray that you have a safe trip and an enjoyable stay. Do yourself a favor and request transportation from the gate to your bags, etc. You need to keep your strength and besides, they can move you through the terminal much quicker than you trying on your own.
DougM., I called American Express and ordered the iPad2 32Gig with WiFi. Actually getting it for free as I have enough points on my rewards program. Now I will need to get some advice regarding Apps that I "Must Have".
Chief, we too can put corn, etc. out for the deer. I have two stands sitting in the yard as I have not been hunting locally in some time. One of the Ortho surgeons who lives around the corner was telling me I have a huge doe in my front yard every morning. Will have to check that out. Since the wife and kids are not fond of venison, I will let her walk.
Well, gotta run as I am early in and then I have to get ready for the visitors this weekend. Hope everyone has a great weekend.God Bless, dennis
Good morning all, Sun was out bright this morning after yesterday's rain. Cool with high about 65 predicted. Had fried eggs and potatoes for breakfast with toast and Knotts boysenberry preserves.
My lower back, feels like the tailbone, is not too bad today but I'm taking Aleve twice a day to reduce inflamation. After yesterday, I can see that I am not able to lift anything over 5 or 10 lbs without hurting myself. I hope that improves over time. I can't stand not being able to do for myself. That's another reason why my son is going with me to see my ailing sister back East. He will have to do the grunt work in traveling. Will be glad to have him with me.
We got at least an inch of rain here yesterday but the ground dries up fast. Seems like the ground was like a sponge.
Chuck, keep on truckin pal. You will be at those trains soon.
D. Baker, that's a colorful uniform. Sort of looks like USC colors.
Roy, take care of your neck so you can go to York.
Good afternoon all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s. Quick post to note that "my" soccer boys won their sectional game last night. Advanced to finals with 7-2 win that was closer than the score indicates. I hope eveyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Aloha from another beautiful Fall day in Illinois. Bride just informed me she's going to cheer friends on in the Chicago Marathon. That means a 430 am train into the city for her - and probably me to drop her off - LOL. She's visiting a sick friend all day today so I'm homeschooling the youngest and working. DonB, that's quite the uniform. Not as splendid as Fife's I'm sure. My daughters is just blue top, tan shorts. Boring. Dennis, the netbooks will be cheaper than the iPad 2, but not as much fun.
Morning All
Attended AGHR meeting last night. Agenda called for a vote on raising dues, but didn't have adequate information regarding the amount of rent increase, so after significant discussion vote was not held. Could really have significant membership impacts. Hoping for a positive income.
cnw1995 DonB, my daughter continues to work 'traffic' and parking at Cedar Point (in OH) on weekends. She enjoys the work - and the paycheck.

AND a PAYCHECK !! I'll have to check into that! Will actually start Friday night, so any advice will be appreciated. It will be interesting I'm sure, can't wait to be standing out there at 11 pm, in a iridescent yellow shirt telling young people where to put their cars. Below is an image from the website with the job posting at Knott's, family thinks I posed for the picture.
Have a easy day today, going to check things out after our rain yesterday. WE ended up with 3/4", but sure did get some significant winds as well. Today is suppose to be in the mid 60's but windy also. Then spend time in the train room.
Sorry to hear about Steve Jobs, I certainly agree he was the Thomas Edison of our time.
Take care all, and hope everyone has a great day!
Don
Good Morning
