Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s.  Reffed 5 youth games in the last two days.  Some people made some complaints about my calls or non-calls, but I know I was not as bad as the official who gave the game to the other team playing "my" soccer boys in the sectional final.   That was a travesty of officiating.  I have to wonder how someone can look themselves in the mirror the next day.  When I saw the faces of those fine young men as they walked off the field, knowing their whole season was ruined by some really bad calls, it just made me wonder.  I guess I was a little greedy, hoping two of my prayers would be answered in the same week.  Seeing SFR get a win last week was one miracle, seeing a sectional title would have been the second in the same week.  Guess that is why they are called miracles.  Socccer is winding down for me.  Two more regular season games in my league and then our one tourney game and it will all be done for the year.  I also got the barn door and trim primed Saturday and mowed the yard between games Sunday.  Wife and I went to 50/50 Friday night.  Depressing as he!!, but still a good movie.  Cinnamon rolls on the dining car for breakfast.  TBIL and I can drive.  I hope everyone can have a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good evening everyone.  Had a good nap this afternoon and will be heading to bed shortly.  Took family to church this evening and as usual, was great.  Afterwards, we went out for Mexican food.  Ran into some folks from church there as not too many places open Sunday nights in these parts.

Joe, thanks for the kind words.  Many folks struggle for a way to serve, for God's will.  These movies have given me a great way to serve and follow the great commission.  It is amazing to have a friend like Alex Kendrick and see how his mind works.  The way the story comes together, then take all these pieces of the puzzle and bring it to one story with a smooth flow.  We can be working one scene over several days, with completely different sets and camera angles, only to have it come as one three minute piece of a two hour film  I think there was about 190 hours of film that was edited down to 129 minutes.

Buckeye, if I had known you were going to be in Jersey, could have directed you to a few of my old digs...some good restaraunts.  Also, a blond challenged wife decides to do her own laundry.  She asks her husband how to operate the washing machine.  He tells her she will need to adjust the washing machine to the type of material that is to be cleaned.  He asks what does it say on her shirt?  the reply "Ohio State".

Have a good night!

Dennis

Good afternoon all,

I saw Courageous yesterday afternoon.  It was a very good movie and I recommend it for all us men.  I watched the UFC PPV fights last night with some friends; a couple of the fights were very exciting.  I woke up with a little scratch in my throat this morning and some congestion.  I passed on church and went to get medicine instead: Theraflu works very well.  A few classmates and I are about to hit the road for Atlanta.  We will be at the Packers-Falcons game tonight.  It should be a good one.

Dennis - Courageous was very well done.  It was an emotional roller coaster as well.

Traindood - I'm glad the Yankees loss brought you out of hiding.  At least the Sox didn't make it; however, they lost a very good coach.

Good day,

Joe

Good morning all,

Chief, thanks for the kind words and the welcome back home to North Carolina.

V8 Dennis, best wishes on your new relationship with your lady friend.  Don't let the money issue worry you.  As long as both of you enter the realationship with eyes wide open what difference does it make?  Regarding Cal Stewart, I usually go at least one day out of the two but I will let you know more about my schedule when we get close to the time of the event.  I used to help out with one of the display layouts but won't do that this year so I'm free to roam the halls.

Roy, good luck on your neck treatment and your trip to York.  That rain you had must have been the same one that came through here a few days ago.

Went to music recital last night for grandson.  He is taking guitar lessons now in addition to playing violin in the school orchestra.  Going to another music event/fund raiser at the church this afternoon featuring a talented girl from a neigboring parish who will sing wedding/love songs with a group of her own.  The concert will benifit some of the kids at our church.

The recital last night at the guitar place was mostly rock and roll but they did have some pianist who played some ragtime for old timers like me.  I particularly liked a Scott Joplin rag "The Entertainer" which was played very well by one of the students.  They also featured some student drummers and vocalist.  Only comment about the drummers was "loud".  Fortunately, I brought my ear plugs.

Chuck, sounds like you are getting some good home cooking from Ms Paula.  Enjoy!

Have a nice Sunday,

Ray

Good afternoon everyone.  Well, guests are gone, church was great, and now it is time to relax with the family and dog....he is on the couch next to me.  We have had rain all morning, which is much needed.  Went to a special class they are having with the release of the movie.  It talks about being the kind of father God wants us to be.  Was great.

Dennis V8, I agree with the others.  Let it be lead by the Lord and enjoy the friendship.  If it is meant to grow, let it regardless of money.  Money doesn't bring happiness....just never let it be an issue to you.  Just make sure that you have a deep friendship before it goes from there, as in the end, that may be all you have left.  I know a number of surgeons who have lots of marrital issues because the long hours and stress from the job don't make them good companions to their wives.  I think most of those women would be happier with a man who can be home on a regular basis and who doesn't let the stress of work get in the way of their home life.

Chief, I am beginning to wonder if you are not really a Yankee fan.  Ever since you told the forum that you rooted for the Yankees, their ability has faded.

Well, I have to get a nap in before heading back to church.  Hope y'all have a great week ahead.
God Bless<
Dennis

Northwoods - My order for the AF cd came in this week from John Holtman and it's great. Just wondering if you ordered it yet?

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Hi Ray,

I spoke with John over the weekend and my copy of the American Flyer Digital Archive is on its way.  I'm looking forward to getting it.  It has a number of items in it that i don't have in my library, and it will be nice to save the wear and tear on my catalogs.

I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying it.  I know that John will be at York; I hope he sells lots of copies of all of his CDs.

Good Mornin' Boyz & Gurlz !

Dennis, I always tell myself I'm gonna go to Cal-Stewart but just never get around to it. Normally we are short of runners on that weekend so I spend a little extra time at the museum.

Had a great run at the museum on friday, although I think I spooked SWMBO when I sat down and almost fell asleep. It really wakes you up when you hear a couple of people holler across the room asking if I'm OK. Embarrassed Just very tired.

Last nite was the club's 15th anniversary B-B-Q, all went well but the turnout wasn't as high as I'd expected. I ate lite but I must have drank to much water, a lot of trips to the can during the nite. Sigh

Gotta agree with Chief, if you enjoy each other's company past history is just that "the past". Mischief

Two important events this week, echo-cardio-gram monday to check on the ticker and our 46th anniversary. Need to figure out something special for her.

Cheerios on the breakfast wagon this morning, now it's time for the meds.

Later all !

p.s. Check out the club's website to see our halloween decorations. Thumbs Up

Mornin' all!

Been real busy at work and only catch up a few times a week with the pot!

Another day here at the Jersey shore in the mid 80's, time to head to the beach and take a dip!

Traindood - I guess it takes a major Yankee lost to wake you up! Glad to know you're alive and well. Just because we spend the most money it doesn't guarentee winning it all just gives us a good chance at getting to the dance.

SJ - I'm not sure how much a chance the Tigers have against the Rangers without Mr Young, he sure had a great series while he played.

PS.

  YANKERS LOOSE!!!!!

Laz - You're a cruel guy!

Tigers take down the Yankees - kewl beans!!!

DJ - See above comments.

Northwoods - My order for the AF cd came in this week from John Holtman and it's great. Just wondering if you ordered it yet?

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is early. Cold outside. 46 degrees. Going up to 74 today with sunshine.

Today is an easy day. I stayed up to watch the playoff baseball game. Rain delay ran it to 1 am or so. Then, I could not fall asleep. I see a good nap in store for me today.

Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Fife,

I finally got the application on it's way to you Saturday afternoon.  I wanted to get it out sooner, but I've been busy with other stuff that kept coming up.

Roy,

I am planning on going in April.  I'll have to pick up a GPS before the trip, or I might not get there until October.Oops - Sign Laugh

I spent more time on the 783 tonight.  Reworked the smoke unit and it smokes a lot better now.  That is the worst smoke unit I've ever dealt with in terms of design.  It is very picky about the location of the wick and heater, and smoke rolls out the bottom of the cylinder because there is no place to pull in fresh air like there is on PW units.  If it acts up again, I'll put the 671 type smoke unit in there.

Nice chat with John Hudson tonight.  Son and I went to a local rifle/pistol club for his Marksman Club for school.  He did well with a .22 and wants to go back.  I think they have an archery thing too?  Sounds like fun to me :)  Watched the new Transformers movie - it was good, but more of the same.  Last night we watched Bridesmaids, which was Hilarious Thumbs UpThumbs Up

Aloha from a sunny and warm Crystal Lake. Took the bride and  youngest on a paddleboat ride out on the new lake. What a beautiful day! Have to take her to the train at 430 am tomorrow to join her girlfriends for the Chicago Marathon. Roy, Dec. in Chicago sounds like paradise. Looking forward to it if it works out. Afternoon all!

Breezy here and humid. Hopefully rain tonight or tomorrow. High 80's today.

For once Texas Rangers go into playoffs not having to deal with the Yankey's.

OU beating up on Texas, 48-10 right now (4Q). Making my son happy since he is likely headed to OU next year. That could change as he has been on a roll applying to more universities. Will be interesting to see how this pays out for him. I am very glad he is motivated.

Chuck - glad to hear you continue to feel better and stronger!

Chief really goes go to Cal but for different reasons. By having friends up and down the west coast when he gets there he tries jumping up and down a lot to see if he can break it loose. I believe he has real estate holdings in Nevada.

LAZ - we will miss you guys next week!

Have not heard that many forumites are going to York this fall. Anyone who is there if you are up for it, meet at the CTT booth at 1-1:30 pm Friday for the traditional group photo!

Where is Buckeye??

Have a great day all!

TV forcast is Sat 83, Sun 85, Mon 87, Tue91, Wed98, Thurs98. That and I am so established here is why I plan to stay. Otherwise I have no real connections here. I'm retired and single and my small family is in Oregon and Virgina.

SpMan Ray, Don Baker, DougDG and any other forum people do you plan to go to Cal stewart? I am going Sunday morning. I was active and bought a lot in TTOS years ago. Then out of the hobby for years and now back in but not a member anymore. Someday I'll learn how to post photos, Its kind of funney, I love to post on the forums but am interverted in person. I have a hard time talking to people I don't know very well.

A SOUTHERNER!!!!

No, I really like my visits to CA.  Met DougsNOTagrum and Shake and Bake Baker.  Both are great guys.  In fact Don is like family to me. [OH he is going to get the big head now].  Ray is from NC, so he is really OK.  Now I see you have Southern ties so you have to be a good guy too.  Glad you joined us.

Finally getting a move on it.  Waiting for Wifey to go on her "errands" so I can slip out for some fresh air.  She keeps saying I have to stay in.  She is watching a week's worth of DVR'd General Hospital [I think, the one with Sunny the "mob" guy].

Hi GUYZ,

BEAUTIFUL today.  Gotta dog sit neighbors puppy, MINNIEs bestest bud.  They play real good, she is a 5 month chocolate lab that is the same size as our dog and Minnie is 1 yr old now.  Just took both for walk and wow what a time that was.  All they wanted to do was rastle.  Left them play for 20 minutes after 2 mile walk. Now both are asleep.  Gotta close down ponds today. Taking out all the pumps and doing all the cutback of plants.  It will take about 3 hrs but at least its warm out.

SPANKY, nice Halloween layout looks great.

CHUCK, way to go with the exercises, keep on gettin stronger.

Stay frosty,

Morning all.  Waiting for the guests.  Roy, I too have issues with my neck, c567.  Trick is to live with it and not agrivate it too often.  Every Sunday, I am really treating it well by being on camera with my neck bent to look at the monitor.  Hope you fair better.
Chief, during the "season" I would chew on some match heads.  The sulfer keeps them away.  Other than that, you are best to spray like crazy and keep covered.  You are lucky the Red bugs didn't get to some other areas!  They are a pest!  Also, don't forget about rescuing Doug-not-a-grump.

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day

Good Morning

59 and 70s today

Tonight is our monthly train club meet. Looks like a large group attending. Hmm Brutus the pot is strangely quiet about the Tigers beating the Yankees, must be a lot of Yankee fans on here. From where I sit it's nice to see they have done so well.

Enjoy the weekend...S.J.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny and clear 60 degrees. Going up to 72 today with sunshine. Beautiful fall day.

I love sitting on the back deck and looking at the trees in the back valley. The leaves are changing a little more every day.

Today is an easy day. Paula is making homemade vegetable beef soup today with homemade noodles. That's a  great meal. Especially, when she makes homemade bread to go with it.

I am taking it easy and doing my exercises. Getting stronger, slowly, but surely.

Dining car is here with an omlet for breakfast. We will have Cheerios tomorrow.

Y'all have a great Saturday.
