Happy Monday all,

Sis is doing good in hospital.  She started radiation today and is supposed to go home tomorrow.  She went 12 hours before the raditation without any need for additional pain medicine.  We get updates about her each day from a website set up by her daughter.  I told her I would call when she gets home and feels up to it.

I see doctor tomorrow regarding back pains.  My wife is complaining of back pains now too.  I guess we are falling apart together but did manage to get some food ready for someone at our church pantry today.  This is our last week with that duty.  Younger folks are taking over now thankfully.

Saw a message on the website of The Train Stop, our local train shop today.  Sue Kirby, wife of my deceased friend Paul Kirby, said that the store would be closed for a while with no opening date scheduled for a while.  She said her late husband will remain per his request on their beloved Maui for eternity.  There will be no memorial service here.  Paul passed away while on vacation with his wife Sue in Hawaii on Sept. 9th.  R.I.P, Paul.  Thanks for the good times we shared over the years.

Ray

Evening all,

Sorry for being out of the loop over the weekend.  IT was super busy.

The contractors finished getting the bedroom addition in the dry.  Not bad one week from pouring the footer to being in the dry.  Now to get the windows and door ordered, wiring, plumbing insulating, drywall sleep is way over rated.

Good night and may God bless

Afternoon Fellas.

Busy weekend... that seems to be the theme now. Smile Still trying to figure out why the shutoff valve is leaking in the powder room. Have 1 more connection to check and if that doesn't work then I am cutting it off and installing a new one! (that is a conversation you don't want to walk into at the end!)

Your plumbing, that is why. Whistling

No photos of the little one.  ??????

Busy day for me.  Big dinner at steak house for BIL's B'day.  Big lunch with WakeMed reps to talk about future satellite hospital in Roseyville.  Town Board tomorrow night.

Still no OSU fans posting.  Whistling Sorry, it crawled out of its hole while I was typing. Smile, Wink & Grin

Hawaii Five O tonight.  Not as good as the old one but want to see how McGarite gets out of it.

Good evening everyone.  Long day...started by taking kids to school, followed by working camera at church for an hour, going to work, coming home.  Then, I completed the run of the CCTV camera lines through the attic to the end point (dripping sweat the whole time), and then back to church for operating camera for 2.5 hours.  Finally home, and going to bed.

Chuck, so glad to see you posting and getting healthier by the day.  Keep it up and get home where you belong!  I know of some lonely trains that are waiting to be run.
Dougdagrump, if the six year old doesn't show interest, you could always adopt me!  Just kidding, glad that you have someone who can look forward to carrying on the tradition.  Have my son who enjoys them, so I think we have that one covered.  Hope they get those meds worked out for you.  Another thing, not sure, did you get a pacer?  If so, if it triggers at a fast rate, or not fast enough, that can also cause you to feel tired.  That just requires a little re-programming.

Well, I am about to fall asleep.  Hope each of you has a blessed night.

Howdy guys - yeah, yesterday was a lot of fun, really uplifting Thumbs UpThumbs Up

Hope all are doing well today and improving steadily.  Char has had a request in at work to get her desk moved to a more isolated area, to try and prevent any flu or other bugs.  She put up a sign at her desk to stay away if you are sick.  Some lady came over to talk to her and said it was rude - well turns out that lady as MONO.  Geez - some people are so thick.  We need a motion sensor activated Lysol bomb - anybody know of a good source?

Got my refund to Pay Pal today.

TARDIS is ready and we'll go find John Hudson and get some Banilla supplies for SJ!

Gray drizzly weekend.  General odds & ends chores & honey-do's around the house.

Somebody mentioned the regulatory aftermath of the tragic  crash at Reno this weekend.  If memory serves correctly, it was the crash of another modified Mustang in Cleveland that was one of the factors that got the air races moved to Reno.

Prayers for recovery and healing.

Thanks for the thoughts and kind words concerning our old dog.  His passing left a hole in our lives, but it will heal with time.

All for now.

Good evening all,

We had group PT this morning - it was a circuit training workout.  The academic day was busy as well.  After classes I went to a running specialty store to buy new running shoes.  The store has a diagnostic system to make sure you buy the right shoes.  Since I have been running longer distances more consistently I splurged and purchased a very nice pair of running shoes.  I've been fortunate to not have any injuries and the right shoes will help me continue that streak.

The Yankees won tonight and now Rivera is the all-time saves leader.  He is the best closer in history.

AF Ray - I'm sorry you will not be able to witness history tomorrow night.

Jack - The Yankees might be able to knock the Sox out of playoff contention next week.

Good night,

Joe

Hello all

Went for a hike yesterday w/ the other operator up to Webb Peak, which is the next one west of us. There is an old lookout up there that was built in the 30's. Interestingly enough the tower is an Aeromotor product.

This is looking back to where the telescope is on Emerald Peak. The white square is the LBT (Large Binocular Telescope). Mine is just to the right but gets lost in the trees.

This is the lookout. Reminds me of the gunnery observation towers they built on battleships before WWII.

Look like I'll be up here until Thursday. I'm shifting my schedule around for the next 3 weeks. After that we should be in operation.

Jack - along w/ extension cords, zip ties and duck tape can get plenty of use...

Chuck - just a few more days!!

Dennis & Chief - thanks for the words of encouragement!

Off to find something to eat and then a pillow. Tomorrow I get to journey to the great city of Safford, AZ.

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with some fog to start the morning.  Finally set up Black Cave Flyer to test new Pumpkin car.  Makes it thru openings ok, but no lights.  Get out instructions.  Says needs 12-18 volts AC.  Hook up AC without engine on track (it is DC only).  Works great.  Have to get E-unit for engine, but will test with Alaska Docksider first.  Buckeye, I think the Columbus Crew is in first in their division in the MLS so not all is doom and gloom.  I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast.  TBIL after soccer game tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Aloha. Nice warm, sunny day. Bride is taking a bunch of youngsters apple-picking today. I have a few meetings. Nothing too bad. My middle boy, the one I've worried about, got accepted into a college yesterday. (I spent the weekend with him applying to seven figuring ones got to let him in  Smile)  Tiffin Dragons lost too, Buckeye.  Brutus, I'm sure Char's request is a Reasonable Accomodation under ADA as well.

Mornin' Fellas

Fife - some call it passion, I call it lunacy. I wish my life were so simple that it could revolve around overpaid players. Don't get me wrong I enjoy watching the games just as much as the next guy, but if I miss a game my life won't cease to have meaning.

Chief - I had nothing to do with this plumbing - it is original to the house. I think the shutoff valve has gone bad because I have tightened all the connections and I still have a leak (and yes I put teflon tape on the joints). The problem is I have to cut the valve off the PVC pipe but there isn't enough remaining pipe to install a new valve, so I have to remove the sink, take the wainscotting off the wall, open the wall, cut the supply line, and replace from there... lots of work... Sad

This picture was taken this morning prior to leaving for daycare. When I dropped her off there were two little boys from her class in the dropoff room. The one was sitting in a boppie next to Christina, they were just staring at each other... looks like Daddy needs to have a talk with his little girl tonight!

Too cute!!!!  Hmmmmmmmmm, looks like your clothing budget is going to take a major hit, Brent.  No more GQ-type purchases for you!  Now I know when, in the formative development period, that girls pick up this addiction to shoes and footware..  It begins right at the beginning.    Bang Head Smile, Wink & Grin

Chuck........life is good, you are back.  It won't be long now before you are home. Thumbs Up and Beer

Brutus.......can you believe some people?!?  It is all about them, even with something as serious as this.  This goes well beyond common courtesy.  That woman needs some serious professional help, a major attitude adjustment, or some tire tracks imprinted on her head.  P245 preferably, some nice wide ones.

Harold......glad to see you back.

V8Dennis........they check for emissions here and if you flunk, you get a temporary two week sticker to get things squared away.  Probably 30% of the folks here drive with expired inspection stickers, expired registrations, no insurance, and no drivers' license.  My advice to you prior to the emissions inspection, take your car out for a hard 20 minute ride out on a highway where you can get things totally heated up,especially the catalytic convertors.  The latter have a tendency to get carbon buildup that needs to get burned off with the heat from driving hard.  If you don't get out and about regularly and do mostly city driving and short hops, where the engine doesn't get hot/hot, you are more likely to flunk emissions.

DougM.......better start using your pc knowledge and start printing up your own money. Laugh

Brent......I don't know of anyone who doesn't eventually have leaks in those stupid shutoff valves.  They are a water issue waiting to happen.  You would think that if we can put a man on the moon that someone could invent a valve that stays water tight.  It isn't as if they get turned on and off a zillion times.  Bang Head

SJ.........your rain just arrived, just as I was about to see if I could beat the drops and get at least some of the lawn mowed. Sad

RaySP.......hope the Docs can figure out a better way for you.  Angel Now your issue sounds contagious.  I NEED a firm matress, or everything goes South in a hurry.

RT......glad you are feeling better.  Maybe you had a touch of food poisoning instead of a virus.

SubmmBob.........did you walk all the way over to where that picture was taken.  What a hike!!!! Surprise

Gotta run, guys.

Good morning or afternoon depending on your location,

I just noticed that I have passed my first 1000th post.  Don't even remember what day it was.  Anyway, I'm just a piker compared to you old heads on the forum.

Regarding baseball,  I watched a little of a game between the Dodgers and Pittsburg the other day.  Dodgers won 15-1.  Just saw the last couple of innings but Dodger stadium really looked empty.  Maybe fans got bored and went home early or could it be a protest against  the infamous owner who has made a mess out of the team.

Looks like grocery strike has been averted according to the morning paper.  Both sides came to some kind of agreement but has to be voted on by the members of the union.

Chuck you can do two more days easy.  Will be good to see you posting from home soon.

Sister suppose to come home from hospital today.

V8 Dennis,  I just had to have one of our old cars smog tested too.  I know the feeling but sometime I think its all a racket.  They seem to pass everything as long as they get the money.  Those test only places are little gold mines.

Paper says Dolores Hope passed away at age 102.  She was married to Bob for 69 years.  He attributed that to the fact that he was only home for three weeks.

later,

Ray

Buckeye - what I appreciate about Snohizo is you have plenty of it and do not notice when you send a little our way.

Afternoon all!

Arm is a bit better today but shooting pains in left thumb are annoying.

Brent - she is a sweetie. Great pic! Are you going to bring her to York to start breaking her in to the World's Greatest Hobby? I think Buckeye bought her a toy train but I think you will never see it unless you travel to buckeyeland?

Harold and Kev (KRM) - good to hear from you guys. Keep it up.

SubmmBob - great pics. If you gotta work in a remote area you picked a great one. Skies out there at night with little to no ambient light around must be spectacular!

Chuck - you must be feeling better as your posts are returning to normal - bet you will be glad to get home after all this.

Doug M - CONGRATS on the middle boy's college acceptance!!!

Ray - Angel continue for your sister and good luck with your back issues. I can only imagine that after dealing with my neck and arm.

DougDG - good luck with the doc. Angel for your continued recovery.

Chief - I also like the new Five-O. It is interesting to watch the original every now and then. They have rudimentary crime lab and loooonnnng pauses in speech - which no show does anymore - all new shows style is to yak non-stop rapid fire - gets wearing after a while.

Have a great afternoon all!

Jack,

I took the PGT out on the highway last week after replacing both Bank 1&2 O2s, now I have a Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold code.Thumbs Down  I couldn't get the pre and post cat O2s to budge, So I left them.  I figured that if I tried too hard, given the condition of the original y pipe and converter, I'd have a bigger problem.Laugh  I need to get a new y pipe and converter asap.

John,

           Did you get my PM?

Finally have a day off of work.  6P-6A gets a bit rough past two consecutive days.  Was going to work on the layout, but I am debating on going to look at a 95 PGT.  Need something for winter.  I reflashed the Mustang's ECU back to stock this morning so there wouldn't be any issues with inspection tomorrow.  I didn't realize what a difference there is between the stock tune and the Bama Performance 87 Street tune that I was running until returning to stock.  Can't stand the throttle lag and weaker midrange with the stock tune.

Brent,

Any chance you could replace the seal in the existing valve?

Just got back from looking at the 95 PGT.  Trans issue aside, I really want this one.  Hoping to get it this weekend if possible.  I don't want to see it end in a yard if I can help it.

Afternoon All.

Back from the doc's office. No change in meds for now, he wants to wait for three or four months if possible. He is of the opinion that the tiredness, even though the heart has shown improvement, is the result of going "cold turkey" on coffee(caffeine) & cigarettes(nicotene). Withdrawl symptoms from two very strong stimulants. Another echocardiogram will be done in early November to see where we go from there.

Been watching a few items on EvilBay but the seller must not be getting what he wants for them. This is the fourth time he has listed them after canceling earlier listings. Funny thing is the reason for canceling was "item no longer available" but two days later lo an behold the same item is listed, hmmmm. Grumpy

Later all !

Good evening guys!

Chuck - it will be great when you get home....glad to have you back posting again.

Wildwood was a blast, had a great time....wish i could have stayed another day and maybe I should have.  Went in to work today and was promptly let go.  I fear that this was to make way for the kid they hired a few months ago, who, by the way, is friends with the owners family.  The availability of work has declined in the days since he was hired, so.....

But no problem, there is always something else to be had.  And this time, I may be eligible for unemployment.   And this makes York a probability instead of a possibility.... Sigh

Doug notta...cigarettes I understand, but COFFEE??? Wow, not sure I could handle it

Brent - Still a cutie...and I just had that same talk with MY daughter Laugh

Weather here since Saturday has been colder and wetter.  A little too cool for me right now, but I'll take this over over the roasting pan.

That's all for now....

Glad to hear Granny is getting better, and continued prayers for Doug, Roy, Ray, and all in need.
