Evening,
ANJdevil - I am so sorry about your job. Hopefully this opens the door to something better! Best of luck. Will certainly enjoy meeting you in York if that works out but I hope a new job makes attending a challenge!
Regards, Roy
Nice sunny fall day here today.
Nothing going on the train front at the moment.
My wife's bridge group is coming over tomorrow. She is in the kitchen making goodies. Of course I had to make a run to the store for some missing ingredients. Have to set up card tables before I go to bed tonight too.
Submmbob - That is quite a view. Also looks like quite a hike. Pretty good elevation change too. I'll guess maybe 5 miles with 1000 or so feet down then up?
Brent - she is a cutie.
All for now.
OOPS, forgot to post yesterday. Reclinerized too long. Long day and night. Town Board ended early though.
Brent, thanks for the pretty girl photo.
Rich, so sorry but something better is right around the corner. Promise.
Bob, great view.
Chuck, keep chucking that wood.
Hope Granny does not crack Sir. J over the head.
Roy, that Ohizo snow cannon doesn't work well. We have a hit and miss. They get direct hits all the time.
Sleep tight.
Hey, Fall is officially here.
God bless TCA 05-58541 Benefactor Member of the NRA, Member of the American Legion, Retired Boss Hog of Roseyville , KC&D Qualified
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cool and dark morning. Fall.is on the way.
One more day. I go home tomorrow. It's been a long time. I need some of Paula's good cookimg.
Be back later.
Y'all have a greatWednesday.
Chuck
Hi GUYZ,
Cool here and just getting light. To get rain and only 74. Gotta pick up vinyl fencing tonite to hide propane tanks.
CHUCK you are up early you beat me to the punch. Have a great day BUDDY! Keep doing your exersices.
Stay frosty,
laz57
Good Mornin' Ya'll From Sunny Taxachusetts,
Just a quick splash and go.
Clear but not for long. Rain on the way and will be with us through Saturday. It was a seasonal 60 degrees this morning, a lot warmer than the range of low 40s to mid 50s we've been having. Like Jaz, we should get about 74 out of the temps today.
Chuck......you da man!!!!!!!!! Your ship heads for the home port tomorrow! Congratulations!!
Rich......sorry to hear about the job. Another bump in the road, and it must be disappointing. But this too shall pass. Hang in there.
I always wondered. Are the pumpkins for sale today/September any different from the ones folks buy in October.....from a longevity and rotting standpoint? Up my way the news reports noted that the farmers in the field are cutting off the stems from the leafy vine now to avoid rot. If I buy now I get the pick of the litter so to speak and can add a splash of color to the landscaping and enjoy them with the tykes without waiting.....as long as vandals don't get any ideas.
Gotta run.
Jack
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Aloha from a grey Chicago but from the 15th flr., it looks like it's clearing. Jack, lots of pumpkins still harvested out by us - 'tis their season. If kept dry, your pumpkin should last almost a month. Rich, good luck on the job hunt. Brutus, no joy with the trains either lately. But winters coming...

Good Morning
66 and 70s today.
Brutus I have read CTT but OGR and TCA rag are still sitting on the table. Granny seems ok this morning, I hope to see her become more active soon..Happy Hump Day...S.J.
Chuck glad your almost home, I'm sure you are looking forward to that.

Afternoon FellasLike DougM and Brutus I haven't gotten down to the trainroom in weeks. Really need to get down there and finish the bridge realignment... only have about 2 hours worth of work!Really hoping to build a Christmas layout this year for under the tree.JT - I don't think it is a seal problem... it really appears to be a connection issue. I plan to redo all the connections this weekend and see if I can get it fixed... maybe tonight.
Good morning/afternoon all
My sister came home from the hospital in North Carolina last night. Daughter says they are both tired but happy to be home. She has a niece staying with her at night for starters but others will help later. I will give her a call as soon as she gets settled. Don't want to overload her on the first day.
Chuck, Praise the Lord! Glad you will be going home tomorrow. You had us worried for a while but we are all happy for you now and look forward to your post from home. Keep up the exercises and don't forget your cheerios.
Brent thanks for the photos of your pretty little angel.
Rich, best of luck on getting a new job. The last time I got layed off allowed me to get my engineers job on the railroad where I stayed until retirement. Best job ever! Hope you get lucky too.
S.J. hope Granny is feeling well.
Chief, if Fall is here, please send some to us. Still in the 90's this week.
Bucky, point that snow cannon Westward too. Maybe it will turn into rain at least. Long range weather report was talking about a hurricane off Mexico that might bring some rain to Southern Cal. in a week or so.
V8 Dennis, my first train was a Marx also. I think the engine looked like a streamlined Canadian Pacific Engine. It came with a freight set. I played with it all through WWII and gradually lost each car one at a time. We couldn't get Lionel trains during the war but they put out a train made of paper that you could put together. I got one of those but was too young to assemble it. I was the oldest of 8 kids and later on there were too many kids to get expensive toys for all of us. An uncle finally gave me my first Lionel Train when I was about 13. It was die cast and looked like a Scout set but it had the better automatic couplers on it. I was as proud of that train as I would have been with a scale Hudson.
Went to the doctor yesterday. My back pain has reached the point where it is managable now with just an Aleve tablet once a day. However he said I should still avoid heavy lifting and strenuous exercise for a while. He said I could try moderate walking but not to over do it. It sounds like this is something that will take some time to get over. Maybe you just have to live with it. The doctor was happy with my blood test numbers however except he wants me to take a magneseum supplement. He said my heart is very healthy and tested like it was the same as a much younger person. That was good news.
Doug in Sandy Eggo, keep up the good work but easy does it. A friend of mine who has had heart surgery in the past drinks no coffee at all now, not even decaf but says he's adjusted. Smoking has to go but that was the best thing I ever gave up. Good luck.

Good Evening
72 now another nice day.
No big news here, I'm keeping up to date on train stuff thanks to the locals. Never had a chance to look at the mags. Banilla is waiting for the Tardis to blast off..S.J.
70's today with light showers in the afternoon.
A piece of EF happened today at work that is worthy of sharing with you all -
We had a group coming through the plant today for a tour. I got out into the plant at the appointed time to meet the tour, only to notice that the tour had already been by. A little later, I caught up with one of the tour organizers to to appoligize for missing the tour. He informed me that the tour started about 40 minutes early, but he could not get the message to me because I don't have a Blackberry. I pointed out that I do have a cell phone and that his Blackberry has a phone function. If looks could kill, I'd be posting this from the 'other side'.
Busy day. Extra early and busy day tomorrow. Meetings and more meetings. Then dinner thing which has interrupted my lake house trip. Hope to leave after that.
Flooding rain and lightning. Inches in about 30 minutes. Sure pond is running over. May be up on the road.
Evening all!
Neck gets a little bit better each day. Tomorrow evening I will be off the steroids. Will go to ibuprofen and see if improvement continues but it is very slow.
Tired so just a quick stop this evening.
Chuck - glad you are going home tomorrow!
Have a great day tomorrow all!
Prayers for a job, Rich - sorry
We had a church thing tonight - last (missing) membership class. Somethings are very cool, a few that are okay, but that's to be expected. All the important stuff is right. We picked up some icecream on the way home
TARDIS is ready, so let's get a move on!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Good evening all,
The Yankees are the AL East Champions - again. Sorry Jack.
We had our first test today. I did very well, but I need to make sure I stay on top of the class work since the next test if Friday and a paper is due Monday. I don't have much else to report today.
I'll pray for all those in need.
Good night,
Joe
Good Evening Guys!
Thanks for the encouragement.... something will come up..SPMan/Ray, I've noticed that sometimes the dark days eventually bring a big dawn. I'll sure the best is yet to come.
The firehouse is still a mess, the police have relocated to another area in the boro. Things are surreal since the flood. There had been talk of scrapping the building....it's condemned at this point, but was told we are NOT moving. I was/am relieved....
Worked on my Daddy Wagon, got a cash offer to sell it. And I AM considering it. Repaired an exhaust leak and a power steering leak. Tested a spot and a cleaner wax will bring the paint back.
Tomorrow I get to fight with the student loan people then FEMA (both at the community college)...geez, never had so much trouble getting money for my daughter's education..
Yankees Win....yep watching it on YES
AND PRE SEASON HOCKEY!!!! Devils beat the Rangers 2-1 on OT....
Thats all from Exit 8 for now...
and a shout out to Chuck....it's good you're going HOME!!!
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
A goo couple of days here at the 'scope. Chasing electrical issues and gearing towards start-up.
I was up on top of the building drilling holes for a new GPS installation today. Quite the view and a nice sunset today. The hike that I did on Sunday has about 1K ft. elevation change in 1 1/2 miles. We didn't hike from the telescope this time, but I have done that before. That's about 10 miles w/ that elevation change twice. It's a pretty good workout. I'm sure Laz would run it
Rich - sorry about your job. Hope something comes up soon. Sad to hear you may be selling the wagon. Don't you have some other old iron stored somewhere?
Chuck - just hours to go!
Jack - a friend in the Phoenix area bought a small pumpkin in the fall and it was still good in early summer!

A bit rainy here and for the next couple o tree days. Got my vinyl fencing yesterday from the Amish down here so gonna put it in this weekend.
CHUCK, CONGAs on the big going home today. Are they getting you a big LIMO? Have a good one bUDDY.
SUBMMBOB, betcha its a great quite place up there on th Mt. A good few qoutes from one of my favorite movies of all timecomes to mind, JEREMIAH JOHNSON, "nothin wrong with quite",and" Can't cheat the Mt. pilgrim". Please watch your step coming down those steps.
Aloha. Looks like a nice fall day. Not sure yet what I will tackle. 8n, that is too funny. I manage a large number of Blackberry users and many forget it's a phone too. LOL.
55 and mostly cloudy
I had a nice chat with Brutus last night also spent some time talking with Charlie. So that's my train entry for today.Chuck enjoy your trip home,,,at last.........S.J.
laz 57 Hi GUYZ, ...........CHUCK, CONGAs on the big going home today. Are they getting you a big LIMO? Have a good one bUDDY......... Stay frosty, laz57
...........CHUCK, CONGAs on the big going home today. Are they getting you a big LIMO? Have a good one bUDDY.........
Laz......of course Chuck is going home in a limo, a stretch one at that. How else do you think he will be able to transport "select" members of his PT crew with him? Chuck......no stops at the local watering hole on the way home today!
Good mornin' ya'll from rainy Taxachusetts where we are and will be getting wet for at least 3 straight days. At least the cold has moved off the coast and temperatures have returned to a seasonal range. Low to mid 70s today. Don't know about you guys, but I have not yet had to fire up the furnace. Heard a cruel statistic on CNN this morning: 25% of yound adults or about 6 million are living with their parents. I hate being included in that minority. .
Brent.....you are "hoping to build a train layout this year for under the tree?" Didn't you get the memo from the Princess? It is already a fait accompli and is featured prominently on your "honey-do" list. Get cracking!
JimmyT........why not take a walk on the prospective 95 ProbeGT and direct your resources (and time) to a nice long MustangGT road trip when your vacation rolls around? When I was your age, a girl I knew suggested........never mind.
Chief......I really enjoyed the model German airport video to which you provided links. What I couldn't figure out is what they did with all of the planes taking off that wound up in that big box at the end of the runway. Hope your "'no parking" sign didn't get inundated with the rising pond waters. That picture you had posted a year ot two back was a classic.
SubmmBob..........your friend's pumpkin lasted from Fall to the following early Summer?!? Either he lives above the Arctic Circle or it was plastic!
RaySP.......congratulations for reaching your 1,000th post! for your Sis. I was glad to hear she is home and has help. Don't wait. Give her a call!!!! Re your Doc's observations.....I'd rely on any recommendations Chuck has to offer over the Doc's. Chuck is convinced therapeutic massage PT is NOT over-rated.
DougDG........everyone I know who (after years) simultaneously cut the caffeine and nicotine cold turkey took months to adjust, felt chronically tired. I think your Doc is spot on..... adding, deleting, and changing things over time. You are like a fine, vintage Ferrari that needs time and patience to get it to the right state of tune, but on reformulated fuel.
8N........I got to wondering where you went to hide when your wife hosted that bridge club. When my wife has such a gathering of women, I move my car into the street, help greet the incoming, and then quickly bolt before I become the waiter and the go-fer for the evening. Re the meeting you missed because the "host" made some bad assumptions.... my daughter and SIL sent me a photo of the grandchildren with a text message with Christmas greetings, and I discovered them the next July. I promptly responded.
Rich........my son got laid off due to downturn in business, some "nepotism," and some major good old boy blunders in the reduction in force. Son ran into one of his former coworkers last week who remarked in a beleagered fashion: "We really need YOU back." Son's current job is closer to home by about 75%, he is paid more, works less hours, gets more paid vacation out of the box, and has upward mobility on the horizon. Like Chief aptly stated, "Something better is right around the corner." We will all toss in some prayers to help the process along. They seem to be unusually effective recently.
V8/RaySP........ you didn't mention if any of your first trains ever survived to make the journey with you.
SJ...........prayers Granny's knee is making some headway. Those motion machines really cut the recovery curve. Someone else mentioned a very important reminder for you, for before your better half becomes more mobile: make sure you have checked under the furniture for any empties you may have missed.
Roy........was glad to hear you are making headway, albeit slowly. It took me weeks to knock down an inflammation in my back and get back to feeling almost normal. Docs had to switch meds a couple of times. Steroidal anti-inflammatory meds, pain killers, and muscle relaxants didn't work on me, and this stumped the experts. The non-steroidal, prescription strength ibuprofen did the trick. Go figure. And I hope more rain is in your forecast.
Rich/AF Ray/JoeyD........thank you for all of your kind words of encouragement and support by reminding me that the Yankees won the division again last night. Fortunately for me, it was at the expense of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Someone better start beating up on the Angels too or this Red Sox team won't make the postseason.......no pitching. Who would have thunk at the beginning of the season, before injuries decimated the pitching staff. Backups ain't cutting it. Fife and Brent.........what's with Baltimore? Didn't you give them instructions to lay down for the Red Sox?
Gotta run. It is a good day. Blueberry is going home!!!!
RockIsland52Brent.....you are "hoping to build a train layout this year for under the tree?" Didn't you get the memo from the Princess? It is already a fait accompli and is featured prominently on your "honey-do" list. Get cracking!

Lunch time,
Been on the busy side lately and did not have much time to post.
Chuck, So you can not wait to get home to Paula's Great Home Cooking. I guess that they don't serve Cheerios at the rehab. just a little tease. Good luck and enjoy some good cooking.
NJDevil, Rich, make sure your ASE certs are up to date. watch the Company's web site. We ahve a few Mechanic Jobs that we are trying to get filled.
Probe/Stang GT, Jim, thanks for the info. I will pass it on to my daughter.
Brent, Christine is one lovely baby. Thanks for sharing.
Have a Great Day,
John
Good morning/afternoon all,
Stayed up late watching movie and slept until 9:00AM this morning. Big breakfast was good.
Jack, l did call my sister in North Carolina last night. We had a great conversation. She is doing good under the circumstances and has a great attitude. I will look into travel requirements for myself to go see her sooner than later..
Another model railroader friend for years had prostate surgery but his numbers are still too high. He's down in the dumps and I need to call him today. He has already had a double leg amputation for diabetes.
Hey Chuck, today is the day. Good for you! Waiting for your next post from home.
Jack, re my Marx Train. Sorry to say, it was lost somewhere along the way but I got a lot of milage out of it. I sold my first Lionel Train too when I got older but then I redescovered trains again in the early 60's and the rest is history.
Roy, looks like that medicine is doing some good and bringing the inflamation down. Hopefully your follow up med will keep it down.
later,
Jack,
I don't think I can just walk away. The major issue is that reverse is the only gear that works, the rest aren't major. What I did notice is that all three wiper arms need restored/replaced, one washer nozzle is absent from the hood, all a/c hardware has been removed ( there is actually space to work because of that), the section of the intake from the radiator support to the airbox is gone, there is a small blister on the passenger quarter panel, and the radio and climate controls are gone. That sounds like a lot, but that is easy compared to the trans. I am probably going to call the seller back.
Brent,
I would, but I have not seen her lately.
Not much going on today. Watched some of the first season of Everybody Loves Raymond, then work tonight.

Doesn't look like Boysenberry is anywhere in the pictures to me. Looks like a $1,200 vehicle that doen't have a working gearbox and that needs about 3 to 4 grand to straighten out. I'd go search for Boysenberry and take the trip.
Busy day. Sunny and then cloudy. Big rains on the way [again]. Got dinner meeting. Going to lake house early tomorrow [I guess].
Chuck went home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jack, I think they "flew" under the table and came back up on the other end and landed. ?????
Later.
