Good morning all,
I am back to work after enjoying a week off. I have plenty of emails to sort through and a few things to catch up on. It's going to very warm today with the high hitting 89. I ran this morning and had oatmeal for breakfast. I had a dental exam today as well; I have a cavity which will be filled next week. I need to floss more often; it's my first cavity in about 16 years.
RT - We all have those kinds of weeks sometimes.
Laz - Does this Barry guy have a website? I hear such great things about him I would be interested in buying from him.
88 - I'm glad you guys are aright and did not have any damage.
Good day,
Joe
Mornin' Fellas.Out of the frying pan... into the fire!!!!Had a great time at York. Picked up the same B&O Wagon Top Boxcar as Fife and another version in REA Blue, a B&O Sleeper car from Golden Gate Depot - TALK ABOUT DETAIL!!!, a PRR breakdown F7 B unit (a future repaint project), and the rest of the track I need to get the layout reconfiguration finished. Also found the add-on cars for Brutus' Dewitt Clinton (being fulfilled by our friend Barry @ Barry's Trains). Had to go back up on Saturday to pick them up... so I went back to the show Saturday morning and Barry forgot them! No worries. He has my name and number and will be calling today or tomorrow to get them shipped. Great guy that one is! Since I forgot to pickup the needed scenery components I walked over to the Orange Hall and stopped by Scenery Express. Picked up some stacked rock paper to line the inside of a tunnel that will be visible, a set of concrete fins to hold back the mountain near the curved bridge, and some plaster gauze for landscaping... then on the way out I passed by Gellers... I need to stop walking by his display... some of the neatest military transport stuff you can find... ended up with a flatcar with a Huey... Saturday The Q and I went out to Quiznos for dinner. We wanted to head out to Frederick to pick up the tile, vanity, mirror, and other items for the bathroom remodel. Well we made it to Quiznos, had dinner, and as we were leaving all H3LL broken loose. One of the hardest rains I've ever driven through, then The Q calls on the carphone and tells me that a Tornado hit close to our house... so much for Lowes, we're heading home!!!! Well as we approach the neighborhood there are branches down everywhere, had to stop 3 times to move them off the road, then we're 1 mile from the house and there are 4 large trees down blocking the road. 15 miles detour to come in the backway, made it home, but the neighborhood got hit really hard. No homes were damaged but we counted 15 trees down, some blocking driveways. OH - that tornado? was 10 miles North of us, closest I've been to one and about as close as I ever want to be to one.Glad Chief is OK!
traindood Morning fellas and gals: Clear and chilly here. Eating marathon yesterday at Confirmation party. Soon Da Chief and I will look like book ends! Have a great day. later
TRAINDOOD,
Speaking of Marathons, today is the 115 running of The Boston Marathon. I know this because 15 years ago my wife PAM ran the 100th Boston Marathon with 40,000 other people, I was there cheering her on. Nice weather for it today.

32/41 today
This is unreal, April 18 and it's snowing. Not completely unusual but we suffered enough through winter. I had to go rescue granny this morning as she locked her keys and purse in her running car. her spare key is in her purse of course. I have an MD appointment tomorrow so I shall just goof off today. My only operating York buy works and Charlie says his ZW works so we did ok....S.J.

Aloha. Snow on the ground. Glad everyone here is all right from the storms! Love seeing the York photos. Brutus, great Lovecraft buy. I'm futzing with running the Trainz simulator off an iPad. Important work. Happy Monday to you all.

This is my third attempt to post on this site today.
All I wanted to say was that we offer our sympathy to you over the pond for all the death and destruction you are suffering at the hands of those dreadful storms.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 44 degrees. Going up to 60 today with a chance of rain.
Today is a busy day. Wife is grocery shopping and I have some chores to do around the house. Finished a train project, yesterday, and it came out good.. FP-45 is back in action.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Monday.
Chuck
Hi GUYZ,
well back to school again only 32 days left if your counting. Hope all is well in NC? Chief make sure you put some rocks in your pockets before next storms, don't want you flying away.
Forgot to tell yuz guyz that I bought a CSX SD40 Huskey Stack set from Lionel. Got it from who else BARRY. He bought out a dealer somewhere in the Midwest and had a tractor trailer there with boxes of things that weren't opened yet.
Stay frosty,
Great time at York. Great seeing all of the the coffee pot crew. I really enjoy the camaraderie and fellowship at the York meet. Picked up an AF All Aboard Pioneer 600 set. It is really complete except is is missing part of a porch roof and all of the track clips and pins. The track pins and clips are available in reproductions. The house appears to be Plasticville, so I'll have to do some searching for that piece.
Well, I better get moving because I have to go back to work today. Short week this week and next so I'll survive.
Take care.

It is supposed to rain all week in SE Indiana. Matches my mood. Going to be a lousy week at work as well. Just have to get thru it. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Joe - Yes it was a tough one, but a win it was! BTW, While I was having my surgery Thur night at 8:30, myself and my two daughters were supposed to be at the Stadium. Needless to say none of us saw the extra inning win.

Evening all!
Had a great time at York! Great crowd and great friends. Imagine my surprise when I boarded the OGR MTH/Lash tour bus and the Chief was sitting in the back! I need to get my pics downloaded and posted of the great Grits Caper II breakfast. Have to remember my access passwords to my web site where I upload the pics. Give me a couple of days.
Don (DMUing) did not make the photo Friday and we tried several times to find him at his booth in the Blue hall. I perservered and finally spent about 45 min with him Sat noon. Also bought a neat NETCA 2002 tank car from him. It has not arrived yet as it and my other stuff are traveling in a trailer being towed by some friends back from the meet.
Good to hear the Chief and Rolesville were not terribly damaged by the tornados. We flew out of BWI Sat evening and got stuck in the airplane on the ground for a few hours waiting for the storm to pass, so got home last night quite late.
Had lots of chores to do today. First one was the wife broke her key to the front door off in the lock. Had to completely diassemble it, tumblers and all, to get the broken piece out. But "got 'er done" and that one is fixed for a while. Also mowed lawn and diassembled the kids old portable basketball goal since they do not use it anymore and it blocked part of the driveway.
Don B and Lloyd should be back in CA late tonight. Their flight went from Dulles to NY and then to LA.
Have a great evening all, what's left of it!
Regards, Roy
Joe was trying to think what it was then I remembered lol
Been a long week for me lol.

Glad Ray is okay too and has a quick recovery. Glad to hear from the Yorkers and see a nice pic, thanks! Nice chat with SJ, Charlie and RT tonight. Apparently they bought some stuff I didn't do much today beyond cooking a big breakfast, playing with some friends on xbox, 4 loads of laundry, going to B&N with the family (where I got a 20 dollar book of H.P.Lovecraft stories - all his published fiction books in one volume), McAlister's deli for dinner, some icecream, and chats. Tomorrow is back to work so I can kick in on Chief's SS benefits. Prayers for all. TARDIS is ready, so let's go guys!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Good evening all,
We had nice weather all day today. We went to church this morning and then this afternoon I drove to meet the in-laws to pick up our daughter. She had a great time at their house this weekend, but now we must retrain her - as expected they treated her as royalty. I ran the trains this evening with the baby which is always fun. He now likes to work the transformer throttle in addition to the switch tower. Don't worry; my hand is right there with his as he tends to fully open it up; however, he has not caused any pile ups yet.
Chief - I'm glad all is well for you and your family.
RT - I saw your Yahoo message. I will hopefully get you some photos this week.
Dennis - I sent you a PM.
AF53 Ray - I'm glad you are out and well. The Yankees are playing well, but in a tough one tonight.
Good night,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 60s. Visited oldest daughter and three of the grandkids. Watched the Indy car race. Vitor finished 9th and stayed in the top 10 in points. Team Red did not win, but Andretti Autosports did with Mike Conway so all that meant was none of the little teams won. The last time one of the non big 3 won was Justin Wilson for Dale Coyne at Watkins Glen in 2009, I think and before that I can not remember. I hope everyone has a good day.
Good evening guys. Checking in on a few things before getting to bed. Had a great night service with the choir giving a concert. My legs and back are in a lot of pain as I was again on the main camera and doing a lot of work. Can't complain, it's all good, but I think the broadcast will look great.

Rich, glad to see you checking in. My father used to race down in Englishtown and also out on the Island (Long Island that is). That was in the old days.

Good afternoon all,
Busy day today. Went to mass at 11:30 AM and just had time for lunch before matinee performance of the musical "Ragtime" put on by local college. They did a terrific job. I saw the Broadway Company when they had it on the road out here before opening in N.Y. The local performers were great too as well as the ochestra and the sets. Had a great time with friends of ours.
Dennis, funny you should mention the song "Were Your There". We sang the same hymn today. Very moving when you hear the words.
Waiting now for son to get home from car race in Long Beach so he can go out to eat with us.
ATSF #3751 made a Westbound trip today from San Bernardino to L.A. to complete weekend round trip. Did not have time to see it today.
later,

evening all. Well chief glad your fine and so is the misses.
Not much happening here.
I'm off the next 3 days then I head back.
Suppose to work either Thursday night ( 4 P.M. to 8 P.M.) making hot cross buns or Friday early a.m. (2 a.m. to 6 a.m.) so there fresh for the patients good Friday morning. I tried to convince them to let me make dinner rolls also but they said they already ordered some for easter Sunday.
Just relaxing tonight waiting for the tardis so we can go look and see some of the damage all over the place.
Well talk to you all later for all who needs them and for the victims of this latest round of storms
Good Evening
It stayed crappy all day. Never got out of the 40s. As Charlie said no global warming here. York was fun, it is tiring but worth it. if Charlie says lets go and I am able I would go again. Banilla is ready...S.J.
Hey Guys...Happy Palm Sunday
Good to hear that things are secure in Carolina. I heard about the carnage there and glad to hear Mr & Mrs Mayor are ok.
Thanks for the pictures of the "pot" crew. I hope to join youse giz in October. ...weather looked great!
Just got back from Englishtown and the Raceway Park swap meet. Picked up a BEAUTIFUL polished aluminum 750 CFM Holley carb for the roadrunner.....and a negotiated price of $100.... No headers, though....
I haven't read the "back pages" as I'm doing laundry and taxes..., but hopefully everything is ok... for our intentions...
Hope to check back soon!

Chief....Glad to hear you are okay. During the next six weeks, I bet we see some tornadoes in Ohio. We will have a really warm day and that will set the sirens howling in the afternoon.
Glad everyone had a good time at York this year without Wes and me. Of course, Wes has more important things to take care of these days.

Things are getting back to normal after York, Big Wind & Big Rain. No damage to friends or family that I am aware of. Just repaired the antenna on the TMCC controller. I installed a shorty some time ago. It came loose during all the action with the California Gang on Wednesday evening. Tightened the nut and put on a gob of permanent Locktite. Hope I never need to take it off. Sunny today but still a lot of wind.
PS: Just saw a bunch of storm damage photos on TV from the York area, mostly trees. They apparently got the worst of it in this part of PA.
All have a good week.
Chief,
Glad you are okay.
Fife,
The picture looks good, but I'd have to say Ladder > U Haul.
Laz,
I think his name is Todd, but I am not 100% on that.
Brutus,
I never did get to Game Stop Friday. I kept trying to make up my mind, and by the time I did, it was too late.
I spent Firday night and a good part of yesterday fighting with a PW 342 culvert loader. First it wouldn't pick up the culvert from the rack, then when it would, the culvert would land between the loader and car. After about six hours of adjusting and , it works great after cleaning the conveyor pin and bending the conveyor sweep arm. Scored a pair of PW 022s yesterday morning on ebay as well.
Chief.... We are glad that you and Pam are OK. That was a nasty tornado.
Indians are 11 & 4 now. They swept Baltimore.
AND....Grady Sizemore is back, with a home run.

Good afternoon everyone. Bit tired and achey as I didn't get enough sleep and I was on camera duty for church this morning. It was a great service and a wonderful Sunday School. They played a video of the crucifixion scene from "The Passion of the Christ" and had the song "Were you there when they crucified the Lord?"....it is powerful.
Chief, I am so glad you and Pam are safe. Most of the real heavy stuff passed a bit north of where we are. Last time we had a tornado come through our property, it took a dozen trees and snapped them off half way up. Kim was home with our son hunkered down in the center bathroom when the "train" came through. Scary. Just make sure you do a good check for any roof shingles or any other type of damage so you get the claim into insurance.
I would like to be taking a nap, but it looks like we are going to Chehaw park for the Heritage Festival. Mostly it is Cherokee Indian tribal set ups, etc. along with demonstrations of life back then.
Hope it is a good week ahead for each of you.God Bless,Dennis
Chief, relieved to hear that you are OK. Prayers for the folks in your area.
Laz, thanks for the group picture and the caption for who's who.
In the news this morning, a Catholic Church in our area a few miles from me (St John Vianney) was totally distroyed last night by an arson fire which has been confirmed now. That is terrible news for our community. The church is in an area called Hacienda Heights which is about 10 or 12 miles from me. The people in the parish are going to mass today in the parish hall which was not burned. The rectory was also saved. I knew the former Pastor from over there who helped out at our parish after he retired. I am sure the community will come together after this and rebuild. Prayers for the sick person who did this.
