Good Evening Gents!
Long day here in Central NJ....Got home from work @ 10 PM...fire call at 730 so I had a long stop over. 2nd floor burned on a mutual aid call. Had Pizza for dinner and going to head up for my nap.
Brutus----
Was cold and windy today, worse tomorrow... and Jack, no heat (yet)
Probe - it'll happen, just takes time...took me 5 months hopefully not THAT long for you.
Goodnight guys,... off to inspect my inner eyelids...
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
Cold cold cold in Saint Louis and some snow tomorrow (tonight too?), but nothing like we have had recently. I'm signed up to give training starting Thursday and Char has doc appointments on Monday and Tuesday, so not sure how this is going to work out. I guess they will just have to extend it a few days or have someone else do the training.
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers guys, it seems like this has gone on and on forever now, but things seem to be looking up more and more now
Train restriction - Hate it....
Prayers for a job for JimG97P and for healing and happiness for us all.
Tardis is ready - hit it boys!

Evening All !
POST Super Bowl Party Update - Neighbors on the other side caught wind of the planned event, they have notified the local constables and hence there has been nightly patrols going on. (No Kidding) According to Kay there have been 4-6 squad cars in the neighborhood all day! Even a fire truck. So time is becoming critical don't know how long will be able to keep the lid on things, so better get going soon!
Doug M - To get here, back out of driveway, turn left go 1,985 miles, then turn left again, another 235 miles, then turn right go 3 blocks, and we are the 3rd house on the right.
Banks - To Far You Say?? This event is only held ONCE a year, well worth the travel. And as a secondary benefit you will even be able to get thawed out! Consider it theraputic!
The entertainment crew have been out practicing for the past two evenings. I did hear some arguing going on about whether they were going to use lard or bear grease on the pole. All the lights are in place so it should be a good showing. The food is ready, BBQ has plenty of fuel, so we're ready! Just don't delay can't hold everyone off for long. Suggest getting the Tardis in warp speed. Brutus We have your seat reserved, and made special arrangements for Char. (Got some tours lined up so she won't be bored with funky neighbors, No concern about the ice cream, ("We have butter pecan and choc chip cookie dough icecream, as well as Famous Banilla"} I'm assuming of course it is FRENCH Banilla. I don't think the CHIEF will make it, I heard he has himself painted into a corner, and can't get out. (He wanted to put a new door in the closet using the shotgun to help air it out. But I reminded him that was on his neighbors side, and he have to watch him in his shorts all the time, so he decided to wait until the paint is dry.)
In the meantime everything is normal here. Honda in the shop for a new timing belt, 2 laptops taken in for new monitors, (think they got stepped on, probably neighbors.) And 1 desktop in for virus scrubbing.
Still working on the layout (friends), Got the table modified for the addition of a 54" track, and Engine Yard design completed. Should start landscaping next week. It is really going to be FABULOIS ! I've been wrestling down what I thought was an electrical problem, but found it is mechanical. Have a curved Ross 54 switch, and running a Rail King Big Boy thru it, and its stops midway. Determined that since the switch is on a slight elevation and resulting being on a grade, the spring assembly on the rear coupler is actually binding in the switch frog. So working that out.
Buckey - Visited your web site, and it is more awesome than ever! Recommended it to a couple of people, as to what can be done for free with Shutterfly. I've started one but havn't gotten very far with it. Did put up the pics from the last year's Car Exchange, but not much else.
Weather is suppose to get a little cooler, may down to the mid 60's, Doug W and Ray, have you guys heard anything about rain coming in? I havn't. Maybe this will give SubmBob a chance to warm up and dry off.
Calling it a day, long day planned for tomorrow. Pick up car, computers, a couple of service call, and a presentation in the evening.
Take care
Don
Good morning all,
It is cold in SE Indiana. Meeting with caregiver went well, and no incidents were reported last night. Wife takes dad to doctor today. May find out more about his condition, and doctor will talk to dad about hospice as well. Watched "Glee" and V last night. Perhaps too much TV lately. Perhaps I need to start going back to Y. Work was busy. I hope to be caught up on case reports today. I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast. TBIL anytime and I can drive. May need de-icers for tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Morning from Central Jersey, 14 and it is going to be a cold one.
Wait, I probably could use a "Cold One' at the end of today.
Joe, Be careful with that bad weather.
Don, Ray and I will bring the ice cream.
NJ Devil, You had a long day. Keep focused at the fire scene after a hard day. I don't want to see you a statistic.
Mike, Prayers and thoughts for Dad.
Everyone have a GREAT DAY.
John
Hi GUYZ,
11 and a cold one here, going up to 27.
Stay frosty,

Aloha. Well, the ole van started last night at 10 after sitting 17 hours in the subzero. It's a balmy 4. At least the suns out. Get to go fill out the crowd at a fancy hotel lunch today so that should be fun. Been following the NS clean-up in OH after the ethanol train explosion earlier this week. Quite an efficient clean-up. Hope all stay warm and dry.

RT - Some of our Northern friends need to take those Grits cooking classes. May convert some of them to be Grits Lovers.
Don - I am all packed and ready to leave. Before I leave I have a question - is your neighbor going to entertain? I assume the pole you are greasing is hers.

Morning. Sunny and cool. May get a flurrie or two tonight but nothing to stick. In fact, sun is warming things quickly. Off to Lowes to frown and take back rope light. Then do some cleaning up of walk-in and office. Put rest of ammo in safe.
Demay, just watched [DVR'd] Foxpro's Fast and Furious. Hunting coyotes and bobcats in OK.
BTW: attended our Republican County meeting last night. Got roaring applause when I was introduced. Now working on another Mayor buddy to change his registration. We have always been one but never registered that way.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cold 7 degrees. Going up to 24 today with cloudy skies. Global warming, huh ????
Today is a busy day. I have an errand to run and the usual chores around the house. Later, I will relax and take a short nap. Spring is coming.
Chief...Better watch the weather.
Dining car was here with Cheerios for breakfast. Then, it was bound for all "Points West".
Y'all have a great Wednesday.
Chuck
Hello; Mornin fellas and gals. four degrees last nite! BRR! my road is a skating rink; oil trucks or any other trucks take one look and turn around. Cardio man says lose weight. what a surprise! guess i gotta start push......no ,no pushing myself away from the table. put out recycling started a nice fat fire in my Hearthstone wood stove. now it's train time. later.
Think good thoughts, do good deeds!
It's a snow day for us: no work and no school. It was 6 degrees when I woke up and the high is 17. I have shoveled half the driveway so far and I am taking a break for some coffee and lunch. We received about 13" last night and there are still some flurries blowing around. The bad part for us is we get a lot of wind which causes huge snowdrifts. I have one snowdrift in my driveway that is about 3' high and 4' wide - at least I'm getting a workout. And I still love the snow which makes me an oddball.
John - Thanks for the note. We will be fine; we stocked up on groceries yesterday and we have nowhere to go today.
Chief - I have not hunted out here. I considered taking up bow hunting, but with three young kids I don't think I would have the time right now.
The kids are watching Little House on the Prairie, and it's time for me to see what's cooking for lunch.
See you all later,
Joe
Good morning all, not much to report here at the moment. Quiet day yesterday.
Don, Man! that must be some shindig you are doing over there. Fire trucks and squad cars! I have not heard about any rain either.
Brutus, glad to hear Char is doing better. Prayers for perserverence for both of you.
Chief"s armory er gun rack seems to be coming along well if he can get the dang rope lights to work.
Finally saw a replay of the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Glad I missed it! Wish somebody would learn the melody, much less the lyrics. Seems like when I hear "Oh Canada" sung for example, they seem to get it right most of the time. Why can't we get ours right?
later,
Ray

Brutus - Awesome news about Char!!!
Afternoon all!
Well we got a coating of ice again this morning, followed by about a half inch of powdery snow. Schools closed again. It is 20 and wind is pretty brisk. One of our weatherpersons tried to give a scientific explantion as to why we did not get as much snow as originally predicted. The science part fell through when he got into the "snowflake factory" that should occur in clouds at 10-15 thousand feet...that did not occur this time...
Sooooo - why is the ice melting like crazy? Is this a consquence of global warming where ice is not as tough as it used to be? Wimpy ice?
Annnnd - if we have global warming - and the North Pole is melting - where is all this brutal cold air coming from? Are the Russions somehow manufacturing it with giant air conditioners pointed our way? Inquiring minds want to know.
Anyway...Record level cold tonight. I will be baby-sitting the faucet that is in the north garage wall again tonight. I clamped an old hair dryer to my table saw and pointed it at the hole in the sheetrock behind the faucet. Go in and plug it in every couple of hours - maybe I need a timer? Nah - better watch it so I do not burn the house down.
Stay toasty all!
Regards, Roy
hello guys hope all are well in spite of the cold. colapsed deck will cost 16,000 bucks to fix, 1000 deductable, so guess that will come outa my trains. contractors said weight of snow brought it down, so be carefull with yours. son is going to bootcamp at greatlakes in two weeks followed by a school at gulfport mississippi. when he graduates he will be a builder third class. then off to shoot [enemy (edited by selector)]. his words....navyjack
Warning! Warning! Warning!
Now that I have your attention:
Apparently when you purchase from Ebay and you choose an alternate shipping address ........ I checked the "view order details" and I did nothing wrong. I've done this before and it went to the alternate address. I was having an American Flyer passenger station shipped to Hudson#685's house for some restoration which I can't do at my house. Guess where it went???? Well, I called Ebay and they said the seller has the option when they "confirm address" with Ebay. Since I've never sold anything I didn't know this. Soooooo I guess the answer to that would be to include the address in the "leave a message" area.
navyjack - ouch! And congrats and good luck with your son.
Don - I guess the guest list was too small?
John - Make mine Black Rasberry!
Chief - How many relatives were in the croud??? (No really, that's nice, congrats)
traindood - You're not alone!
Joe - How often do you this much snow in Oklahoma?
Home all day today and maybe tomorrow thanks to my father-in-law during the SB game.
Hoping all is well,
Bayville, NJ

AF53 As far as the seller if he sends to another address other than the confirmed address hes not covered by ebay's coverage for the seller.
Well ( okay sj I know your not surprised) I decided that I don't want to use dept 56 buildings/accessories I have ( new in box) for the layout.
not a lot going on here tonight I have a slight sore throat on the right side i thinking it might be some type of drainage but not sure.
Okay guys I have had TMCC type engines about 3 -5 years but have not had a layout to run them and discover a lot of the little tricks like tonight I figured out from reading the instructions a little better how to set my engines to a max speed so they won't jump the track. seeing as a younger person I use to only know stop or full speed or at least as fast as I could keep it on the track well most of the time.
Hope all had a good day talk to you all later

Good Evening
cold today cold tomorrow
no new snow
Got banilla & butterpecan so I'm ready to fly, lets go..S.J.
Brutus,
That is great news about Char.
I've been sitting here trying to locate a new upper tensioner idler pulley for the PGT, which has been difficult. None of the stores have a listing for it anymore. I did find a listing for the pulley online for an 02 Mazda Millenia with the KL V6, so that should work...I think. Need to start stockpiling more parts.
I am still planning on rounding the corners on the upper level of the layout, and hopefully it can be done in place. I really don't want to take it all apart if I don't have to.
Evening all
Ebay can be frustrating. Right now I am fussing with trying to use a gift certificate. AARG!
Anxious to receive the American Flyer #595 A-Koostikin Operating Tool Shed I'll pick up the reproducer later.
Take care and may God bless

Jim,
Wow. Congrats on that 595. I've only ever seen one for sale. Would a regular Talking Station reproducer work? I remember that the original reproducer for the 595 had an exposed paper cone that is usually damaged.
Hey Roy: just to opine on the faucet on north wall; had a similar problemo, waited till warmer weather and cut wall open to check pipes and sure enough copper pipes had swollen over the years, just about to break. sweated new pipes in and added drip$1****$2for winter. can be purchased at any home center but i prefer genuine plumbing store. regular valve but with a knurled knob on top to let out expanding air or water so pipe don't break. permenent solution is six feet of heat tape. As far as global warming goes, we are in an eleven year sun cycle which has just started. this is caused by sun spots, expect more of the same for the next decade. like the OL' Perfesser said "you could look it up" so much for global warming AAAALLL!!!!! now it' off to watch season premiere of "Justified". he's such a bad$1***$2 gotta love it! 10pm est. later.
RT - Thanks for the info. Just wondering then, why would Ebay allow a buyer to have at least 2 shipping addresses? I've had success with my alternate address before. Has anyone else had this happen to them?
Good evening everyone. A quick stop over as I am on my way to bed. Had another long day of it as we had a few add on cases. Not too bad, but it just makes for one tired puppy.
Brutus, great news on Char....hope she continues with as few bumps in the road as possible. I think it might be time for a very special Valentine's dinner with your favorite lady.
I think Roy is sending some of his cold air our way. Supposed to have some sleet in the morning, but supposed to warm up soon afterwards. Car is in the shop and so I have been driving the old truck. Kids are looking forward to tomorrow as I will be dropping them off at school and they love driving in it.
God Bless,
Dennis

Good evening all,
It is very cold out tonight, but it should warm up a bit tomorrow. I shoveled out our driveway and back walkway to where we stow our garbage and recycling containers. I spent about two hours finishing all the shoveling this afternoon and I think the wife was a bit nervous - she was thinking I might have collapsed . It took me so long because of the drifts and the amount of snow the snowplows pile up at the end of our driveway. Oh well, I enjoy being outside for a workout.
We had breakfast for dinner tonight: biscuits and sausage gravy and fried eggs. I did not run any trains tonight due to the garage being cold. I played Wii, chess, and Dominoes with the kids after shoveling duties.
AF Ray - OK gets a decent amount of snow, but not as much as I was used to growing up in PA. I've only lived here about 18 months so I cannot speak about it too much. I do know ice is a big problem out here.
Good night,
Evening all!
Traindood - lovin' it!
Big news report here this evening. It turns out that in addition to the 400 fans who were turned away from the doors of the Super Bowl - the Dallas Cowboys couldn't get in either!
Freezing cold in Saint Louis and we had a touch of snow today - enough to close some schools anyway. Kids were disappointed though, because teacher friend who would bring them home had meetings and they were stuck at school until almost 3 anyway!
Thanks for the kind thoughts and prayes guys, they are working Continued prayers for us all and our loved ones and friends.
Father-in-law had an angiogram today, due to some bad test results, but he is okay and no significant problems were found. He'll get to go home tomorrow. It would have been today, but the doctor didn't get the order done before he left, so he was stuck there overnight!
Had a great time at Don's last night - lots of fun and frolicks! Tardis is ready and some pecan icecream will be great, so let's hit it!
