Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cold 4 degrees. About 4 inches of snow on the ground. Going up to 26 today with no new snow.

Today is an easy day. I'm feeling a lot better after a short  bout with the flu. I plan on running trains, later.

Doug Murphy.... Williams put a metal plate on the bottom of the truck, between the wheels, like Lionel had. These cars don't have the round uncoupling shoe hanging down.

Dining car is here with the usual breakfast.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' Buckeye...Ashamed My bad.  Glad you found a train show to go to.  Watched 2 good football games last night.  I'm glad the JETS won, as that sets up a possible RAVENS/Steelers match-up next week...but, first things first in KC.

Had a little teenage Broken Heart drama last night.  Will make sausage biscuits and country gravy this AM for middle princess.

Aloha from a sunny and cold Crystal Lake... Long but productive morning at church. Great convo with SJ and Brutus last evening!  Smbob, that Metra train is curving under the raised tracks to head west from Union Station. Curving overhead is 'my' train into the old Northwestern station.  The Hiawathas also come in there. We pass over that curve every day. My office is on the other side of the Loop.

Monring all!

The artic express that Don B sent us is finally here. Cold rain here this morning, temps dropping rapidly, rain turned to SNOHIZO at noon, will SNOHIZO until about 6 om tonight and then freezing drizzle later tonight. Nice Storm Freezing temps predicted here all week.

Fifer - those were great football games yesterday. Too bad Saints lost. Now your home team Ravens are up against the Chiefs. I think the Ravens will take this one.

Spent all day yesterday going through all the Christmas & Halloween decorations in closets and attics. We slimmed it way down. Went with a 6.5 ' pre-lit tree this past season with favorite ornaments. Used to put up 3 trees. Took the 3 trees and extra decorations that were in really good shape to Salvation Army - rest goes in the trash pickup tomorrow. Also took all good Halloween stuff, two collaspable steel kennels, a 1 yr old Red Devil Vacuum (we did not like it - too clumsy), an HP laser printer (older but slow), and some other sundry stuff to Salvation Army.

We are starting to go through everything we have trying to get rid of stuff that has accumulated over the last 15 years. Trying to clear the closets, attic, etc., and make things easier here - particularly to make room for storing trains! Whistling

The hard part is my daughters old toys/stuff. Like many of you have related - hard to get rid of this stuff until the kids actually move out - and then like the Chief did several years back - had it ready to load into daughter's car when she visited one weekend. I intend to do the same Mischief My son is not too difficult - he doesn't really care about his old toys so it has not accumulated - but we are dealing with a drum set that he put into a closet last year - that takes up some real space (that could be used for trains). Since he is one year away from graduating HS and then college - looks like the drum set stays for a while unless I can convince him to sell it (I have been carefully working this item).

Buckeye - that was Tom of Lionel. We have been working together for many years now. Did you pay the $27 to park? Be glad you are not a Dallas Cowboys fan. El Jerko owner Jerry Jones charges $70 per car to park at the new Cowboys stadium.

Hope everyone has a great day! Stay warm!

Good afternoon all, just got home from TTOS local meet today.  Attendance was only about 2/3 or less what it usually is.  I guess folks are burned out from Christmas.  Had good conversation with friends and a donut.  One guy just got back from an ocean voyage to Hawaii and back.  Says he was sea sick he whole trip.  Also complained about the service.  We all compared illnesses for a while and talked trains a little.  I did not see any thing I needed or wanted.  Came home after staying only 2 hours.  Auction never seems to start until about 1:00 PM.  Usually by that time half the buyers have gone home and sellers don't want to show anything with too few people.  They never seem to learn this.  In the last year, I think I have only stayed long enough to see one auction.  Maybe it would be better to go to the meeting late and just watch the auction.

Got to work on pot roast now.  Later,

Ray

Roy.....Parking was $8, two for the show = $20.  Another $100 for Thomas the Tank T-Shirts, bath towels, cars, etc.  Mrs. Buckeye says it was the very best show she has ever attended.   It was clean and well lighted with plenty of neat items.  I got to spend $3.00 at the Scenic Express Booth for a tiny cat to put on my train stations roof similar to this exhibit found at the California RR Museum.

It stopped snowing so now the good part - it starts melting. Salted the walks and drive since tonight may bring a little freezing drizzle.

Buckeye - $28 for getting into the train show, $100 for things liked by Ms. Buckeye and for the grandkids, $3 for your train layout - Priceless!

BTW - sending the SNOHIZO eastward - enjoy!

Afternoon All.

Football weekend ! A little surprised by some of the results, can some of them spell defense ?

Spent friday, as usual, at the museum. The gremlins were rather abundant, two of the crew fought with the DCS all day long. Never could figure out what was going on. The good news was I was running TMCC Smile, the bad news is that by end of day I lost two Lionel FT's to mechanical failure. Crying

Hi GUYZ,

Back from MOMs and another day out with the Flintlock.  It was cold at only 13 degrees went out loaded up.  Went behind uncles house about a quarter mile and had BRO come through the swamp.  He spooked out 8 doe running right at me about 30 yards full speed.  Pulled back hammer raised gun was leading the deer that was about 25 yards away, took shot sparks into the pan poof pan ignited, bang gun went off, I just killed a tree in front of big doe.  I was leading it while on full run and shot and hit the darn tree. DA!  I Had bad luck with that one oh well better then no luck at all.  Tracked it in the 5 inches of snow but no blood or anything wrong with it had a good laugh then proceded to make the final 2hrs of pushes for BRO but he didn't see any.  Oh well have next Saturday yet.  Came home and watched some great football games.  Came back to Millersburg and watched the Eagles(not FRANK) loose to the Pack.

DOUG M. looks like we got the Seahawks next week.  Go BEARS!!!

BUCKEYE, WOW you got a little *** for $3.00Bow, You DA MAN!!!!

Home.  Yam Dankies sending snohio and ice.  Had to come home early. @$#^&~ Angry  REB's have sent out blocking so it is not going to be as intense as originally forecasted.  Afraid it will dump on Pat.   Might dump on Super Trooper in Maryland.

Bob, glad things are going better.

Another quiet day @ the 'scope. System is working fairly well. Moved the N-gauge setup down to the electronics shop so I could work on some track for the Marx clockwork set for my friend's son. Here's a you tube of it running on a circle of 0-27 track that I pulled the center rails from:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQOhUHbtiCY

Just need to prime and paint the track. It was some old stuff that was too rusty for electric use. Nothing like recycling.

Gabrielle is doing fairly well. Thanks for the prayers.

Nothing much going on here today.  I cooked breakfast and dinner, did laundry, played on the xbox, watched Despicable Me with the family, and just hanging out chatting with SJ, RT and Charlie now.  Tomorrow is doctor visits - my wife in the morning and then me in the early afternoon.  I'll take some train magazines and get caught up while waiting Thumbs Up

Doug - we can EASILY get that onboard, we'll put it in the main sub basement Laugh

Good evening all,

It's been a busy past two days, mostly due to knocking out house chores.  However, I was able to spend a few hours on the layout yesterday and today.  I uploaded some photos to my layout post.  Please note I am horrible at taking photos, and we even have a decent camera – it’s all operator error.  RT – Let me know what you think of those runway lights.  I still have a long way to go with the layout, but I am happy with the progress thus far.  I am trying to get a short video loaded as well, but that is proving to be tricky for me.

The temps dropped considerably today and I love it.  We had some winter mix earlier which caused the van's doors and windows to freeze over.  It's supposed to snow more tonight and I hope it does.  I would love a day stuck at home with the kids to play in the snow.

Here's my attempt to upload the video.  Please understand I shot the video with a simple Flip Video camera.  It would have been longer but someone forgot to charge it after they last used it.

Good Morning...It's Monday...last day of my 5 month long "vacation" Bang Head

I have a lot of running around to do and need to get my tools out of storage.  I'm debating whether to cram them into my neon or in the Wagon...

More snohizo is predicted here Tuesday night into Wednesday, New York radio says 6-12" is possible, Philly saying 4-8".  All I know is that this is going to screw up my 2nd day of work...already!!!!

Laz - nice "tree" shot...I did chuckle at that one...

Angel for our intentions - I will check back a little later...time for $1 coffee at WaWa!!

Chiefie..... How's the weather in NC  ???

Right now, just cloudy.  May get some snohio later but not as much as earlier forecasted.  Forcing it farther Nawth.  Making sure LAZ has plenty.  Send Banks some too. Whistling

Morning all.  Slept late and then had farm stuff to do.  I am "looking after" my two farms and three female cousin's farms too.  Staying in and enjoying the heat and TV.  A few meetings this week but no heavy overload.  Not happy over merger of Progress Energy and Duke Power.  Duke is crooked and poor service.  Thier environmental record is horrible.  Will be the largest utility in the USA.

Now for coffee and breakfast.

Nice powdery snow here in the middle of South Carolina this morning but the dreaded freezing rain is only a short distance away according to the radar. Hope we manage to avoid the usual power failures but that may be asking too much. As long as we have power it should be a good day to work on the Marx 333. Hope y'all have a nice day- try not to eat too much!

Aloha all. Sunny and cold here in Chicago. We haven't had real snow up our way since Christmas.  Hope you folks in the south and east getting more snow are safe. Roy, I know what you mean about old toys; though we've been pretty good over the years about clearing things out. I figure if I haven't looked or thought about it in a year, it can go - especially old decorative stuff. My bride never reuses a decorative scheme... Wow $70 to park...  Joe, nice progress on the layout.  Bob, nothing finer than recycling!  Laz, should be a good matchup for the Bears this time

Good morning all,

We had some freezing wintery mix stuff last night followed by some light snow.  By this morning we probably had about a half inch, just enough to cover everything nicely, but not enough to shut down school or work.  It is still flurrying, but it will not amount to much.

Laz/CNW - Thanks for the compliments.

S.J. - I heard about a train accident in Michigan.  Was it near you?

Back to work for now,

Joe
