Evening all.  TWC came early this AM to fix digital phone.

Then busy calling tax office on where I do NOT own property.  "We don't know why you got those tax bills."  "Computer shows you do not own land in this county anymore."

Fixed some broken outside Christmas figures.  Walked the entire lease boundry.  Fred swares that he herd a varmint call yesterday PM.  Went over near it and something big ran through the woods.  I could not find any human tracks since it had rained Sunday.  Hunters Haven said had he thought it might be a varmint? LaughLaugh

Fred did bring me some 4X4 sheets of 3/4 plywood free from WalMart where his Wife is a supervisor.  Left over from a re-model. They were going to "throw them out".  Think I got about 6 or 8 sheets.  He still has about 20 sheets.

Took Wifey out to Applebees for steaks.  Very good.

LAZ, someone dropped off a box full of beautiful NS F units at my front door.  They are on the track but have not started them up.  Lubed and smoke fluid charged and ready to go.  If it can't be gotten, LAZ and Barry's will come through. Bow

It reached 35 with a few snow furries

Granny seems tired lately so we just stayed in. I gave one train a few laps but that was all. I did beat Tiger Woods at PS2 golf. Banilla is ready and I think it's a good nite for loop-de loops..S.J.

Great haul, RT!!! SWEET!

Sounds like a great deal on the plywood, Chief - also on the NS set Thumbs Up

A brick TARDIS?!  No Way - not at my house!  Mine is proper fake wood over Gallifrean steel, lol!

Dad got a PIC line today and will be in a rehab center for a while.  My friend Jeff is getting spine surgery tomorrow to take pressure off his nerves - I think it's the sciatic nerves - on both sides.  Char met with a nurse today and will get home PT for a few weeks.  The insurance required mail-order pharmacy is out of one of her drugs and won't have it for like 2 months, so the insurance is going to have to get it from somewhere else ASAP.

TARDIS is ready so let's hit it guys!

Good evening all,

I'm just taking a break from the Sugar Bowl to have a quick cup of coffee.  We had a pretty quiet evening: the wife made lasagna and the two older kids entertained the baby while I cleaned the kitchen.

RT - Great find!  I found some nice Christmas buildings at the local Dollar General just prior to Christmas.  I only paid $2.50 per building and the people were only $.50.  They may not be as nice as Dept 56, but they worked just fine on my Christmas layout.

S.J. - I'll pass on the banilla tonight.  My wife bought an ice cream maker last week and has been making homemade ice cream.  Tonight I finished off the butter pecan she made last night.  I doubt we will ever buy ice cream again.

Brutus - I hope your wife gets her needed medicine – prayers for her and your father.

Good night,

Joe

Lots goin on round dis parts !

Roy - Its not us sending the cold weather, were here fighting on both fronts..... Rain from Hawaii, and cold winds from Alaska.  Sure wish Kevin would show back up!  When he left here he obviously left the door open!

Brutus - It just doesn't end doe it?  God bless all you guys are going through, but I know it will be better this year!

Looks like some really good scores going on!  Chief with the plywood, (when I talked with him last he was talking about extending the layout, so he may need it.  However most likely he will use if for snowboards or water sleds at the lake.)

RT & Joe  - You guys scored big time!  I have some of those items and they fit in real nice. Works for me I'm jealous.

Going to have a train day tomorrow, a couple of guys are coming over to check out the layout, I'm sure we will have a good time.  May even go down and see the club's layout, that could be interesting.  One of the guys that is coming is "Train Doc" he has another thread going on, I will let him in on who the skallywags are around here.  Specially 'dem Rebs!   I think his layout out is going to have a Civil War scene in it, so I want to make sure I get my influence in.  Especially with the population of the battle scenes.  He is a real good guy, he should fit right in.

Oh, regarding my plumbing problem, I finally got the part in the mail today, but they sent the wrong part.  I needed a one piece valve/cylinder assembly, they sent a 2 piece unit.  So another one is on the way.  The issue is a week to 10 days for delivery.  And they are located in Lake Forest Ca. which is about 26 mile from me.  I asked if I could will call it, and they said no.  But they could send by air for an additional $15.  Problem is the airport is about 15 miles from me, and 10 miles from them.  So we will see what happens.

Need to get busy have some homework for tonight, later.

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 20s.  Went to the YMCA again.  Tonight I get to scrimmage with HS kids in soccer!   Will be so good to kick the ball again.  Watched "V".   Gas line issues are fixed.  MTH has shipping schedule, but not catalog itself, posted on website for Lionel Corporation Tinplate 2011.  Work went well yesterday.  I had cereal and english muffins on the dining car for breakfast this morning before sending it on to "Points East".  TBIL after soccer tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' boys.  A pretty "looking" morning here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Taking down the tree today.

laz - Ummm, the Coffee Pot engine exchange works kinda "clockwise"...hence, those NS F's should have came to fifedom before heading south of the Potomac. Crying

Now if you all will please excuse me...I've suddenly felt the need to go to our local Goodwill store.  What Confused, I have some old coats to donate...

Aloha all. Shouldn't sound surprised by 12 degrees feels pretty cold today - at least it's clear. Congrats on that haul, RTYes Like Joe, I found a few cheap buildings in the local Dollar store but for more like $5 each. Decent first class to begin the quarter - it sure makes a difference when there are lots of students vs. only a few - then it's more one-on-one. Enjoyed day two of visiting the Art Institute at lunchtime. Going today too. Big Smile  Off to my first in a day of meetings.

RT,

That looks like a great deal.

My search for a digital camera/camcorder is finally over.  My main goal was to get something that takes better video than my Kodak M341, which is terrible.  I came home from Best Buy with a Flip Ultra HD last Friday.  The quality was also not good.

Back to Best Buy Saturday to exchange it for a JVC Everio camcorder.  Worse yet.  Back to Best Buy later that afternoon to exchange for a Kodak Playtouch.  By far the worst yet, and I should have known not to buy Kodak if I want quality.

So, I went back to Best Buy on Monday to exchange it for a Canon Powershot SX130is.  I couldn't be happier with this camera.  Video and still image quality is phenominal, and it cost just a bit more than the others.  Right now, I am trying to upload to YT.

Morning all!

Gonna hit 60 today and still sunny! Don - Bring on the cold...we're ready Hmm

Brutus - continued prayers for your family and friends in need.

Chief - are you gonna post some photos of those F units running by "da Chief vs da Beavers" accessory?

Doug M - it must be nice to work someplace where you can walk to a museum and variety of things to do on one's lunch hour.

Busy day today. Hope everyone has a great one!

Regards, Roy

Good morning all,

It is sunny and mild today, around 50 for the high.  I started the workday off with a meeting which was supposed to last about 15 minutes, but ended up lasting an hour.  Oh well, I consumed more coffee and I am now readjusted.  I need to spend the rest of the workday closing out 2010 items and preparing 2011 plans.

CNW - The building were normally $5, but I snatched them up when they were 50% off.  Also, Sears had marked down its A Christmas Story items 66%, but I found out too late and was not able to get any.

Back to work for now,

Joe

Good afternoon everyone.  Bit on the rainy side today.  Early in and early out this morning, so I actually have time to relax and catch up on some of the DVR'd shows.  Does seem that some folks have made some nice finds lately...congratulations!

Chief, I too am looking forward to some photos of the new NS engines.  Sound like beautiful pieces.

Hope to catch up later.

Here is my first try with my new Canon.  I am still experimenting with camera and conversion settings to optimize video quality, but this is still night and day from my Kodak M341.

Good morning all, not much going on this week but rain has stopped.

D Baker, sorry your plumbing is still on hold.

Chief, ditto on request for pictures of the new NS executive engines.  I love that paint scheme.  I always have, even when it was what the Southern Railway used.  Only saw a couple of these in real life during the Korean War.  Southern ran a troop train from the tidewater, Va. area to a training camp somewhere in the South so I saw it leaving town with an A-B F unit on the point and God knows how many cars.  There were a lot.

Quick trip with wife this morning to lab for blood test.  Omelets for breakfast.

Love my new HD TV.  Probably watching it too much until the novelty wears off.

Have a good one,

Ray

Good evening

20s all day and overcast

Lunch plans with my cousin and wife had to be canceled as grandson told his teacher he wasn't feeling good. He was here from 10 to 3 and there were no signs of illness. I told him if he does it again  we will bring school work home with him. Of course really being sick is a different matter. Banilla is ready for the thingy so Brutus light the fuse and lets go..

Grumpy old Granddad.  All he wanted to do was come play trains with you.

Good night all.  Wifey is feeling bad and I have a headache.  Had a busy day and it was suppose to be a short meeting at lunch.  Was cooler today.  Seems we can only get a day or two in the 50's [which is our normal high for Jan.].  Some "ugly word" flurries by day break and then sunny.  May have some more by end of week and next Tuesday.  Off to bed.

Howdy guys.  Jeff is already home - it was some kind of microdiskectomy or something and they wanted to keep him over night, but he wanted out so he could smoke again.  They gave him meds and let him go home.  Sure hope he takes it easy and heals up.  Dad is doing well and so is Charlene.  She has a doc appt tomorrow and then PT on Friday.  Nice chat with RT earlier and now with SJ and Charlie.  Nothing much going on here, just work and stuff.  TARDIS is ready to fly, so let's get it going Smile

Good evening all,

I just finished the first introduction, prologue, and first chapter of a book I received as a present back in December.  I was planning to the run the trains for a bit tonight, but got caught up in the book.  A nice quiet evening at home for us: Teriyaki chicken for dinner followed by homemade chocolate chip ice cream.

Probe - Thanks for posting the video; that is a fantastic train.  Also, the camera quality seems great to me.

Brutus - Glad to hear the good reports.

Time for a quick check on eBay and then off to bed.

Good night,

Joe

It is suppose to get a dusting of Snohio today in SE Indiana.  Work went well, but intestinal issues kept me from soccer last night.  I had cereal and english muffins on the dining car.  TBIL anytime tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,
