traindood,
I am a firm believer in PB Blaster. I like the smell, but it stains my hands.
I got back to work on the 481-491 diesel roar swap, and I am trying to find out why it doesn't sound right. The speaker tested good and the roar generator works properly, so I am thinking the cap and/or resistor are at fault
Evening all
A cold 14F right now.
Jim T - The PB blaster is great, and good luck with the interview!
Jack and Laz - The crate training is the wayto go.
Mike said extra prayer during Mass this evening for you and your Dad.
Tryand stay warm!
May God bless
Jim
Fife - Thought of you when I saw the picture on page 17 of the Feb. 11 CTT
hello: anyone who likes the smell of P B blaster is a true gear head! Wrench on dude! on a more serious note, there was a time many decades ago, when i had to switch jobs. lots'a stress. after a time though, it made me a stronger person; and i'm sure it will work out for you. keep the faith. it's just another pebble on the sidewalk; you can trip on it, or step over it. later.
Think good thoughts, do good deeds!
Jim I agree with that statement I did too.
Evening all, well today did not roll out as planned had to go back to work so they could ex-ray my hips Nothin out of ordinary they said so they figured I pulled a few muscles in my leg and there just slow to healing as the doc said your not 21 anymore. I said no I'm 22
Anyway gave me some pills for pain basically Ibuprofen 600mg and extra strength tylenol500 mg but take 2 of these at a time.
I pointed out every time I fall or slip its always the left leg that gets the worst of it. anyway went in about one got home about 7 by time they got done and i got meds ( over an hour to wait at pharmacy tonight normally its like 20 minutes)
Any way got some train cars in today and have a few more being shipped today so should have them like Tuesday or Wednesday.
hope all doing well tonight
Jim T I hope they hire you it would be good to hear that.
Didn't get to set up train layout as been gone all day and work all day tomorrow maybe Tuesday or Wednesday I'll put up to loops of fastrack and hook up the tmcc to it.
I just thinking and realize I have more NYC powered units than anything else but thats fine. Think the MTH alco units ( one powered one dummy) ( both A units) seeing its conventional I might look into putting TMCC in it. But that will be down the road.
Looks like OT will be ending in about 2 months as there going to try and hire 3 part timers and 2 full timers so theres a major cut in pay. but I'm getting things in line so that can be handled easily.
Not much more going on tonight Talk to ypou all later.

Good Evening
cold 11 right now.
Got a call from # 2 son saying he had free tickets for the Detroit Auto show so off we went. I learned 2 things tonite the ladies looked better than these new cars. And the other thing is except for those dinky box types all the rest looked alike regardless of price. So my back is sore and my legs are tired but it was a fun evening. Banilla is ready for Brutus and the thingy...S.J.

Good evening all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in single digits. And the hits just keep on coming..... Wife had to take dad to hospital after calling local doctor. Told us the immediate problem is pancreatitis due to procedure on Thursday. Evidently if you even just "wave" at the pancreas, it has a reaction. Will talk to family doctor tomorrow. Family is gathering tomorrow to make some decisions. Thank you all again and again and again for your help and support. Really long week. No Tardis tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
I was solo tonight with the kids. My wife was out to dinner with a friend of hers. All went well: I played Bible trivia with my daughter and built a Lego robot with my older son. The baby just hung out and wanted to be held.
All the kids are asleep and it's time for my wife and I to wind down. I'll probably have some decaf and watch a show with her before doing some reading.
The latest issue of CTT came in yesterday; I am looking forward to Part 2 of the staff project build. I ran trains tonight as well. My daughter manned (womanned) one of the manual switches so we could run two trains on the outer loop and passing siding at the same time. The inner loop was moving too so we had all three trains going on our small layout and managed to keep it pile up free.
Good night,
Joe
Mike C., prayers for your Dad. I count myself more fortunate. I had colonoscopy today but so far no life threatening issues.
No trains today. Got home from outpatient procedure this afternoon and sleeping off sedative. Probably be up late tonight but that's OK.
More later,
Ray

Hi GUYZ,
Ran trains tonite, NO PILE UPs, all ran good for 2 hrs. Tomorrow go down to YORK to pick up MINNIE, our NEW PUP! Looking forward to this.
DENNIS, great story on the GUYZ in our Armed Forces and the PGA. FLERETY is TOP SHELF!!! He's a quirk but thats a good thing especially for our TROOPS. I salute you!
Stay frosty,

Prayers for parents, wives and kids. Good news on the job front, James T! Hope that works out, sounds great! Worked today and only ran into two accidents on the way, so the roads were not too bad. Wife finally got some replacement medicine for that one that the manufacturer ran out of (out of which they ran?). This med isn't as good so hoping more of the other will be available next month. She has only gone without for a full month now. Geeeeezzzzz. OTOH, it cost me $40, but was over 900 retail. Thank God for our insurance! Nice chat with SJ tonight. Tardis is ready, I'll drive.
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Good evening everyone. Been keeping busy as I have several thousand photos from the last movie we filmed and I had to put them on drives to send to Sony. Just in case they need some images for the advertisement, etc. Technically, they become the property of Sony, but I have all the originals.
Fife, sad news about the firefighter and the flash-over. I never got caught in one, but know of some who have. One guy from I think Elizabeth, NJ has done some burn foundation talks about his experience. He had most of the damage to his hands as his nomex gloves were wet from an earlier job and he wore department issue. Lucky to be alive.
Mike, will continue with prayers for your dad. Pancreatitis is a bad thing. Hope they are able to clear things up quickly...your dad has enough to deal with.
Laz, congratulations on the new pup. Crate training is definitely the way to go. Look forward to some photos as I am sure she will be a looker!
God BLess,Dennis

26 going down to 11 tonight....high of only 25 for Saturday!
Mike - Most of us probably know all too well what you're going through. Just this past October we lost my brother-in-law, he was only 47 and never smoked. It was a five year battle with throat cancer. I knew him since he was 9. It was hard. But you're not alone if you have family for support. May the next few months be as easy for your dad and for your family too. Just be there for each other. We are all different but my wife, being the oldest, took it real hard, I noticed that she was at her best helping and consoling others, seemed to take her mind off of her own troubles, you never know.

You guys are just wrong!!!!!
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is cold. 7 below. Going up to 20 today. No new snow due.
Today is an easy day. I plan on staying inside. Have some chores to do and a project I might as well work on. Not much else new.
Dining car is here with the usual breakfast.
Y'all have a great Saturday.
Chuck
Mornin' gentlemen. Mornin' Chief... A S.E.Ohio kinda day here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Today is the day I take down the Bank layout. Got a lot of nice comments. Will store it in the basement.
Phish - Yes, when I read the caption, I immediately wanted to start a letter writing campaign to have it corrected in the next issue, but I figured hey... It is a fine looking specimen.
Got down to 2 last nite, pretty coold. Going to YORK to pic up pup at 1 PM this afternoon, looking forward to it. Then go to pet store in Lancaster to pick up supplies for pup then home. Suppose to get BIG STORN Wefnesday? Will see if CHUCK has the SNO HI O CANNON on target or not?
Stay frosty BOYZ,
Another exciting day of looking for fuzzy green caterpillars in space (that's what the data looks like). Woke up a 3AM after going to bed early last night. We finally hired a new operator. Now I get to start training him and maybe eventually I'll get back on somewhat of a regular schedule.
While looking for a new calendar I found a box car in N-scale for the Nevada Northern (they did calendars one year). Will be nice to a have a piece of rolling stock from my old volunteer railroad.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.

AF53 Hey laz57 - Which one did you pick???????? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcPGG9jn_tc&feature=related Good luck! Ray
Totally AWESOME RAY. THANKS!!!!
Aloha all. Bitter cold on its way east. Sorry. Taking to checking the weather down Dennis' way - just to sigh and be jealous. Wow, what a lot to catch up on here. Welcome back from vacay, Bob. Sounds like you got a lot accomplished. Nevada Northern is a good road. Good luck on Tues' interview, Jim. Jack, our local bookstore has every mag ever printed - it's where I get my British model railroadin2g mags - I'll look for the Feb. issue of Doberman. What an awesome gift from your son. I wonder if the NWs are as loud as my 41 Army Transport? Laz, welcome to Minie (as in the ammo?) or Minnie (as in Mouse)? Just in time for her to become a Bears fan. SJ, I'm thinking of taking the younger brood to the Chicago Auto Show, but the tickets are hilariously expensive. Glad you got in for free.Teen is away at a church retreat and youngest going overnight to visit his g'pa. We'll be kid-less for the first time in a long time but just overnight.

Good Morning
Cold 10 degrees, winter is here for sure.
Doug # 2 son works in the collision shop for a Dodge dealer, so the dealership gets freebies. Grannys going bowling for a benifit today, I'm not sure it's a good idea as her knees are not good, but as all married men know, we are mostly dummies and know very little about anything.
S.J.
Morning all. Was up early to drag some limbs to the burn pile. Was going to burn today, but too windy. Need to use the chainsaw on a few of them as they are too big. Doug, as I am sure you are aware, we got a arctic blast and it is only supposed to get in the 50s today. Started out in the high 20s early, but has quickly warmed.
Going to catch up with some friends for our annual collective birthday dinner. Should be fun. hope to check in with y'all later.Dennis
Good afternoon all,
It is going to be a mild Saturday, probably in the upper-40s. It will be up and down the next few days. My wife and daughter went to OKC today with my wife's friend who was visiting. The boys and I will hopefully get some layout work accomplished, play the Wii, and build more Lego projects.
Doug - It's amazing what you can accomplish when you are kid-less for a day, even if it is just you and your wife enjoying some quality time alone.
See you all later,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 20s. Dad is resting comfortably. Family doctor came in and talked to all of us today and laid out the entire picture for dad. Oncologist will be in early this week to lay out some options of care for us. Thank you all again.
I had cereal and a donut on the dining car for breakfast. TBIL anytime and I can drive. Thoughts and prayers going out to all. I hope everyone has a good day.
14 degrees, going down to 7 overnite. Well granny came through the door standing up smiling cause she won an autographed Red Wings hockey puck. It is one of the newer players but she's happy. I had my banilla and rootbeer float but there's plenty for tonites thingy ride..S.J.
Evening all. Yankee raid just like during the War of Northern Agression. Charged in on the coast but us Rebs pushed them back out. They did leave from 3 to 6 inches of snohio on the beaches and a little ways inland. Never made it to the farm down east. It is COLD though. Cold tomorrow with some mix Monday and possible snow into Tuesday and maybe a little Wednesday. They can't tell now.
Tired. Been going through Mom and Dad's stuff. Got old things like gas rations from WWII, his Army stuff [passes, menu from Christmas Army party, Army reunion after the war], Army pictures [tanks and jeeps, he was jeep driver for the Cpt. Co. Commander, CO C, 709 Tank Btn.] and letters he wrote home. Then found letters from his buddies while in France and Germany. His Cpt. wrote him from hospital in England. Dad was lucky. He did not stay in during the entire war. He got sent home to run the farm as Granddad got sick [only son]. I read his discharge papers. Also was sent home due to owning his own farm and no one to manage it. Interesting. Farming was that important during WWII. Lots of old pictures of folks I had never seen before as they were dead before I was born. Old deeds and letters. Some from my Great Granddad in the Confederate Army. A picture of Dr. Columbus T. Eagles. He was in the Army of NC too. He is the Uncle of my Granddad and who Granddad, Daddy, Myself and Frankie were named after.
Now for some rest. Waiting for Pam to come home. She went by her Sister's to drop off things SIL was going to keep [Mom had new shoes and boots and Kim wears the same size. Dishes and bowls we do not want].
