Good night all.  Busy day.  Disked garden and sowed turnips.  Now need rain.  Got haircut, did several "town" phone conversations and then fed deer [corn and apples].  Speaking of apples, got tons on the one tree I have.  Been reclinerizing for most of evening.  Sleep tight.

Banks, hope you got reply.  Replies came up different than use to seeing.  I had been contemplating the answer to your question.

Good evening all,

Had a great Saturday.  Took the two older kids to Lowes for the Build and Grow workshop.  This week the kids built schoolbuses. If you have kids who are 6 and older you should look into this program.  There is usually one every other Saturday and it is free.  The kits the kids put together are not the greatest, but it is something they can do themselves and gain some modeling-type experience.

After Lowes, we had lunch and then ran some errands as a family.  We went to Hobby Lobby so my wife and daughter could look at fabric.  My sons and I look at train items: I picked up some gray acrylic paint and Woodland Scenics polyfiber.  Then we perused their many aisles of Christmas items.  It's hard to believe they have all that stuff out already.

Time for bed, I need to get up early and drive a subordinate to the airport in OK city.  It is a 3-hour roundtrip and I want to get back in time for church.

Good night,

Joe

Good evening all,

Great race in Chicagoland.  Vitor led.  Sarah led and got major air time during and after the race.  Ok, Team Red won with Mr. Judd again (thankfully no Ashley this time), but Wheldon was second and Team Andretti was 3-5 with Marco, Ryan and Tony.  Sarah was 15th (only one spot behind the Princess) and Vitor was 9th which should move him up majorly in points.  Mostly a good evening.

Aloha and good evening. Back from our whirlwind drive to Ohio: 5 hours to TIffin, unloaded the daughter, then 6 hours back. Crossed a lot of train tracks Smile

Sorry for your morning, Charlie. Even sorrier to hear about your cousins' loss, Dennis. Sure was busy around the speedway in Joliet, Mike

Good afternoon all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s.  Wife and I watched "It's Complicated" last night.  Good acting, different kind of plot, and in the end, I wonder if there was a happy ending for anybody.  Had a good dessert from Frisch's to enjoy the show.  I just had one game to ref today.  It was 6-2, but a lot more competitive than the score indicated.  IRL is at Chicago tonight.  All my favorites are starting in the back.  I had bacon and English muffins for brakfast this morning on the dining car as it rolled in from "Points East".  TBIL anytime and I can drive.  I hope everyone (especially SFR and AJF teams ) have a good day.

Good Evening from the Jersey Shore,

It has been a great day. We did not slit much wood, but my son and i repaired the wood cribs, seviced the 3 chains saws, I was then sumoned over by a neighbor who is going to the Brooks and Dunn Concert at the Arts Center for a tailgate party since they can't have them there no more. All that I have to say is that I have some great neighbors. By the way they are going to the concert in a rented party bus, We are making dinner for all across the street at my daughter"s house now.

Navyjack, My prayers and thoughts for your cousin and you my friend are definitely a victim of beaurocacy ( I hope that I spelled it right, in other words screwed over.). Banilla is vanilla ice cream but the term Banilla came from SJ's grandson.

Long time, no post.  Been super busy getting ready for the opening of school.  Nothing much on the train front except that I registered for York.  Used the online registration, couldn't have been simpler.

Going in to work for a few hours to tie up some loose ends before the fun starts on Tuesday (students come back).

Take care,

Mitch

Smilemy cousin dale is laying in his hospital bed in orlando with a 24 hour caregiver.  he is dieing from an unknown service connected substance.  it is a slow death for him also.  he has been bedridden for 15 years.  he was a major in usa, west point grad. career looked great.  was in charge of a battery of 155mm guns.  the ammo or concussion did in his central nervous system.  we used to play army in the woods behind my cousins house in wisconsin. i wish i was well so i could go and comfort him, but i myself cant even get out of bed. since dale is from a red state he was rated at 100 percent disabled, me who is from a blue state with almost the same symptoms is rated at 30 percent. so much for fairness.  dennis you are a real thoughtfull man to have adopted as you did.  i can only imagine the red tape involved. we have a 96 year auto that will have to be replaced soon and then i will have to worry about the dents also.  an ice cream store sounds neat.  what is banilla? have a great day guys.  p.s. for some reason i cant download pics on my email. navyjack

Good morning all!

Very busy week this week since I last posted and next week looks no better. Temps completely moderated here and have held steady. A nice 73 this morning. sat outside and read the paper until the sun hit me. Supposed to be 96-97 today and low humidity. Might take the boat out. We have a lake house rented for Labor Day weekend and a big group for wakeboarding and tubing. The gang os looking forward to it.

First HS football game of the season last night. We had a very comfortable lead and then our not so bright coach continued to field a player (who is normally pretty good - I have known him for years) who constantly dropped the ball last night and pulled out a player who was consistently fielding the ball and making good catches and advancing the ball. The later player is one of my son's best friends and a real easy going kid - so we know there was no issue between him and the coaches. So in the end the other team tied it up with the help of our constant mistakes and then won it in sudden death OT. Oh well. Amazing as the other team is gaining and our team is flailing that no adjustments were made. As we too often say - "We snatched defeat from the jaws of victory!"

MichRR714: sorry about your truck. Hope they pay up promptly. Then send them to NC where the chief can work on them. When finished, the Chief will send them to Fifer for a "tune-up."

Hope all are well, have a great day!

Regards, Roy

OK, I am going to give it a try and see if it actually posts before they make me re-log in.  Sorry about the hit and run....with regard to others, no, they don't care.  Our car and van both have several door dents from the parking garage at the hospital and other lots.  The Bronco does not as it is high and has diamond plate running boards...if folks hit them, their cars get the damage!

With regard to the couple who lost both sets of parents, yes, they are both strong in Christ and are wonderful people.  No understanding either situation.  The wife's parents supposedly had financial struggles, but they had several properties, etc.  Their is always a better way out than what went down.  Not sure of the situation of the other set of parents....report is not out yet.

We are supposed to have a pool party today for the heart team, but the weather seems to have possible thunderstorms.  Oh well.

Just can't recall all the things I was going to respond to when the site ate my post.
Hope each of you have a great weekend.
God Bless,
Dennis

Good Morning from the Jersey Shore, Beautiful Morning, 70 going to 83, plenty of sunshine.

Fife, I guess this wasn't a tag and release. Sounds like a keeper.

The freezers were defrosted at my wife's ice cream shop last night, so it is time to put the ice cream back. After that it is split more fire wood.

Everyone have a great day.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Sunny & 64 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  S'posed to be very nice this weekend, then get uncomfortably hot for back-to-school this week.

TGIS.  F wasn't that great.  Charlie, glad your saga had the proper ending.  Had a fellow on parole for murder take off on me on a racing mc, then took flight thru 3 jurisdictions.  Actually went into our big airport because he knew air support couldn't.  But fifedog had tag before the festivities.  And when the boys next county over heard the address, they were familiar.  Looked like one of those fishing photos, where all the guyz are standing around the big marlin, as I pulled up.

Ahhhh, happy endings. Approve

Good evening all,

First post of the day for me.  Today was a busy day at work.  I was able to leave the office at a reasonable time, but I had to back in this evening because something came up.  Fortunately, I had time to have dinner and gelato with the family.

Time for bed,

Joe

Wow. what a morning.  Was on my way to the office, stopped at a red light.  Some lady pulls out from Dunkin Donuts and scrapes all the way across the back of my truck.  Guy next to her yells at her to tell her she was hitting my truck...she pulls out and flees the scene.  I pushed the On-Star button on my truck, got the police on conference.  After a short pursuit I urged her to pull over, police showed shortly thereafter and boxed her in.

Do people have any regard for the property of others anymore?

She told me after the cops arrived that her husband was an attorney.  I said that's good, your going to need one... Wink

Sorry Charlie.  Hit and run is "big time" offence in NC.  I'm sure hubby will be a lot nicer.  Off to bed.  Dennis, happened to me several times in the past week.  Sleep tight.

Sorry to hear about your truck, Charlie - hope they get that all fixed and her insurance pays.  Sounds like something weird was going on with her?

Worked, brought my wife a nice card, but no plans tonight as family is coming in.  Her sister and our niece will be here this weekend.  We'll take them along with us tomorrow night and treat them to a big dinner - maybe steak?  We're waiting to see if Char can go back to work soon, so no splurges right now; but, we'll do something when we know where our finances are for sure.

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes and Chief has it right.  I almost feel sorry for her sometimes.  But, she knew what she was getting when she married me Wink

TARDIS is ready, had to retrieve it from MIT.  I guess it was a good joke, but who was driving last night?  I remember things getting all upside-downy and woozy for a while after the party really got going!  Diana was dancing on the control panel?

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

RT,

I am glad to know that I am not the only one who changes his mind after buying a piece.Big Smile Come to think of it, that's about 1/4 of my collection.Wink

I've been back on the job hunt this week.  I applied online to a position through an employment agency yesterday, and a rep called about 30 minutes later saying that there is a good opening with their client, and that he'd send my resume and get back to me.  I've got my fingers crossed.

Earlier this week, I got two more AF 740s  (have 4 total now), and I spent an afternoon servicing them.  I also serviced the 350 Royal Blue which was getting noisy due to me not lubricating the chasis enough when I stripped it and installed the chasis with the smoke unit.

Good Evening From the Jersey Shore:

I want to thank everyone for their kind words, thoughts and prayers for Mary Ellen and her family. You guys are great and it is a pleasure to know you.

One more week to go with the 10 hour days with Friday off. I am going to miss it. This must have been grass cutting day. I cut the grass and trimmed. After that I split and stacked  firewood for about 6 hours. I am sure glad that I have a log splitter. I have had this one for 16 years and it is a life saver. A big dent was made in the pile that has to be split. A long way to go.

Charlie, you are right, most people don't care about the other guy. I am glad that she got what she deserved.

SJ, time for the banilla and root beer.

That is why we drive a 16 Yr old car and a 10 Yr old truck. We have plenty of parking lot dents, dings and scrapes. Just waiting for someone to total them and collect from their Ins. In Virginia you have to have Ins. or pay $500.00 plus into an Ins. fund per Yr.

Pat

and that don't cover you if you have an accident . thats just what the state charges you to let you drive without insurance.

hows it going pat? want any lionel nascar train cars? Getting rid of most of them as don't really want them now lol trying go for some other type cars now lol

No worries RT.  PD called me a little while ago.  She got nasty with them after I left.  They arrested her for leaving the scene of an accident and disorderly conduct.

If her or the hubby tries anything..I'll be ready with a counter-suit.

That's too bad about the probe too, glad you got her fixed Jim!

Charlie that could be taken as a threat her statement that her husband is an attorney by chance did one of the cops hear her say it. It know as intimidating 2nd party I believe.

Ask you lawyer as I bet your now going to need one. as they will try what ever to get out of it. Oh back to your question about other peoples property the answer is no in most cases any more

hope all turns out well for you.

Charlie,

No, most people don't seem to care about anyone else or their property.  I know how you feel.

I don't know if you saw my post about a guy in a Blazer backing into me after he didn't look backing out of his spot, but this was the result.  He blamed me for him backing into me.  He also wanted me to pay for the damage to both vehicles.  Needless to say, I'll leave my reply to him out of this post.  I ended up pulling the dent myself because I don't trust any shops.
