Not much planned for today other than a run to Best Buy once my paycheck is deposited.  I spent several hours yesterday working on the layout, and it looks like I actually be able to run some of the loops for the first time since building the layout.Thumbs Up  I am considering changing at least one of the inner loops since the majority of it is hidden by the second level.

To power the TIUs, I am using the bricks that MTH includes in their RTR sets.  The problem is that I only have two of the adapters to connect the bricks to the jacks on the TIU.  I called the LHS, and they have them for $15 each.  The MSRP is $10.Disapprove Doesn't suprise me though.  So, instead of buying six more adapters, I am planning on just cutting the barrel plug off the cable from the brick and just connecting to the TIU that way.

Good morning all,

This morning was somewhat pleasant.  I went for a short run and the humidity did not hurt me too badly.  I'm glad we had the rain the past couple of days since there isn't any in the near future.  The highs for the rest of the week are mid to high 90s.

I guess I need to get back to work if I expect to get paid.

More later,

Joe

Afternoon all

It is really nice outside; a little overcast but the temps are down.  I've been getting stuff done around both houses so my bride won't need to do extra stuff next week.  She will have her hands full with the kids.  Last night was spent getting my backpack ready for the trip this week.  It ended up weighing 34 pounds.  We will be hiking from the trail head back about 8 miles and setting up a base camp to work out from.

I am leaving Thursday evening, but I want to finish pressure washing the house we're fixing up, so when I get back I can paint it.

My youngest daughter was featured in the New York Times food section yesterday.  Pretty cool.  If you get the NYT, look for the picture of Anna Sturgeon.  (She takes after her Mom!)

Well, back to work, may God bless

I'm disappointed... you should break out the voltometer and make your own adapters... if you need I can send you the pinout locations. Wink

green97probe - Have you posted anything on your upper level? I checked your youtube posts but didn't see a second level. I am designing one for my layout and was wandering what was wrong with yours, to low, to wide?

Brutus - Thanks for the "Riding the Rails" DVD source. I am sending for it, and several others on there web site.

SJ - Add some Jameson to the root beer float. If your headache doesn't go away you won't care!

88,

It shouldn't be too hard to figure out which wire goes to black or red.  You'd probably charge for the pinout.Smile,Wink, & Grin

Did you get the rain?  The parents are down at  Assateague (read PGT safe and sound in garage for the weekSmile ) for the week, and it was raining heavily when they called this morning.  They are in Berlin now, and I am waiting for them to call back...

Pat,

I haven't posted any vids or pics, but I'll get on that asap.  I like mine, but I had to lower it.  Almost got crushed doing that, but that's another story.Sign - Oops

Good Evening fom the Jersey Shore,

It has been a long day. I left the house at 4am and I got home a little after 6pm. One busy day that went as if it was 15 minutes.

Brutus, Bier, I will drink to that! I am glad that Char is doing better.

Mike C., Sorry about the losses for both teams. Keep them focused.

88, I wish you the best on the adoption. May it be smooth.

SJ, I hope that you feel better soon.

Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.

Pat,

Here are some pics.  It is only 4x8, but it seems larger.  I am happy with it now that I lowered it about 5".  Despite it nearly falling on me while I was laying under it installing the shorter legs,  I like it.  These pics don't capture the height from the bottom level and it appears to be higher than what it really is when viewed in person.  Because my camera only has a display and no viewfinder, it is tough for me to capture it as I actually see it.

Good evening everyone.  Brutus, good news on Char.  Brent, congratulations on getting the majority of the paperwork done!  I know it is a big hurdle.  We will pray for the rest of the journey to get the rest of your family.

Had a good day.  Got done in time to come home and have lunch with bride.  We watched X-Men before I went in this morning and so it was a good date day.  Also, we headed over to Hobby Lobby who had a number of train items on sale.  Picked up a Atlas flat car with a auto on board.  Also picked up some Life Like People for the layout.  Came home after picking up kids and got to spend some time with kids filling plaster molds for making rocks for the layout too....a good day.

Hope each of you have a blessed day.

Dennis

Good evening all,

Dennis - If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for that Atlas flatcar w/auto?  Our Hobby Lobby has the same one, and some others, marked down as well and I'm curious as to how much different the prices are from store to the next.  I am actually going to be in Stillwater, OK, tomorrow, and I have not been to that Hobby Lobby.  I also have my 40% off coupon to bring with me.  I went on a Hobby Lobby run in OKC (four stores) a couple of weeks ago to see what they have left.  Since they are not getting any new train items and reducing their stock, they have had some good deals recently.

Green97probe - That's a pretty cool setup you have there, thanks for posting the photos.  What's the size of the lower level?  Also, what are the brown-colored passenger cars in the last photo?  The ones next to the silver passenger cars.

Glad to hear folks and their spouses are feeling better today.  I'm trying to drop a couple of pounds so I'm staying away from the banilla during the week.  I will splurge on the weekend.  I'm enjoying a cup of coffee now before I turn in for the night.

Regards,

Joe

Joe,

Thanks.  Those passenger cars were made in 2000 by MTH and are decorated for Norfolk & Western.  The lower level is 10x14.

BTW, I picked up a black Wii today, and I have been playing bowling and baseball.  I bought Championship Foosball today but I haven't tried it yet.  I also ordered the Gunslinger Pack and Reel Fishing Angler's Dream.

Sunny and low 90's today.  Humidity coming up, too.

Wife had a doctor's appointment today.  The staples are out of her back, the medical grade duct tape is off of her belly, and her sitting restrictions have been lifted.  X-rays show that the fusion is going as it should.  Next check up is in early November.  Hopefully she gets released to go back to work then.

Stopped by a Hobby Lobby on the way home from the doctor's office.  Saw a bit of O gage stuff, but nothing I had to have - even at 40% off.

All for now.

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps warming up.  Did the Y bit for 30 minutes last night.  The game the other night was the first time in 15 years the boys had even scored against that team so it is progress.  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East".  Good pictures, Jim.  TBIL after games tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day today.

Keep on training,

Today is a busy day. Wife will go grocery shopping. I have a few chores to do until she comes home. Then, it's put all the groceries away. After that, I can relax. I have some reading to do.

Dining car is here and it's Cheerios for breakfast.

Morning all, A nice cool morning here and the chief has been sharing some of his rain with us so the grass is growing nicely. Best part is that the granddaughter has been doing the mowing this summer. Only a little over a week till schools start here & the first HS football game is on Sept. 3. That means summer is about over. And I forgot to mention that the E-town farm fair is next week, the traditional end of summer. The other tradional end of Summer, labor day, is a whole week after that. Since most schools now start before that it has lost some of it's significance. Probe, that is a nice setup, how many can you run at a time? Hope every one has a nice day.

Aloha all. Nice day today. Maybe one of the last to go to the local beach. Only after dropping by the P.O. to renew the boys' passports. Great looking layout, Jim!  Had a nice evening in the city last night.

Good morning all,

Pretty comfortable morning so far.  The baby slept pretty well last night which meant wife and I did too.  Getting ready to leave for Stillwater; have some work to do there today.  I have only been there once before to go to the OSU campus to take the GMAT.  I'm hoping the Hobby Lobby there has some good deals.

Green97probe (Jim) - Thanks for the info.  Make sure you control yourself with the Wii, you don't want to wear it out in the first week.  My FIL bought my son a fishing game; we use the controller as the rod and the nunchuk as the reel.  My son enjoys; however, some of the lady anglers on the game are a little scantily dressed.  The backyard football game we have is fun too.  It has many plays and formations to pick from, similar to what I can remember about Madden football years ago.  Still, our favorite Little League World Series baseball.  Even more so now since the LLWS is ongoing.

S.J. - I hope you get your grass cut before it gets too hot.

That's it for now, time to hit the road,

Joe
