Morning.  Back from Sunday School.  Off down east to Eagles Family Reunion.  Later.  [SP, that means eastern NC Parkers Bar-be-que and fried chicken. Dinner]

Sounds great Chief.  I just gained 10 lbs thinking about it.  Have a great family reunion.

Hello all,

Busy day at work so far and it should continue that way this afternoon.  The rain has cooled this place down to a tolerable mid-90s.  Just came home for a quick bite to eat.

Doug - The 952B controller I have has two terminals on one side that read AC from transformer and two terminals on the other side that read lockon 1 and lockon 2.  The transformer side terminals are not individually marked.  The whistle works fine when I hook up the newer transformer that came with the set so I don't think the lube will help.

Navyjack - Vance AFB is a pilot training base.  We only have training aircraft.

That's it for now,

Joe

Here is another thread discussing the 952B, maybe that will help or you could contact one of those guys.

Quick stop over as been a long day and a early morning ahead of me.  Won't be able to make fall York as we have several trips planned around the same time.

Last night's church service was rather different.  Praise team did a great job of worship songs and then as the pastor started his message, the lights went out.  They came on and went off several times as we had some big storms come through.  We ended up just having a big prayer hour and when all was said and done, it was great!  Sometimes, we need to have moments when all distractions are put aside and we can focus on God.

Had a great discussion about families today.  In this day of so many electronics, games, ipods, computers, etc., it is great to have a hobby where we can just enjoy the simple pleasure of our trains to take us to destinations of our own imagination.  The best part is that we can share these moments with our kids and engage in conversations that build lasting bonds.  I have distinct memories of my Dad and I playing with the trains and so many lessons learned.

God Bless,
Dennis

Good evening all,

I hope everyone is doing well.  Just finished doing some research on smaller sized O scale buildings.  I searched some websited and past posts here, and have decided due to the small size of my layout, OGR buildings look like a good idea.  I think they have some neat commercial buildings; however, no houses.  I may consider contacting Elfin to see if there 6x3 fronts might be a better idea.  I'll also have to weigh the cost.  The bottom line: As I look at my limited space, I don't believe pre-made structures from MTH, Lionel, Plasticville, etc. will allow me to have much of a town/residential area.

I emailed someone who previously posted about the 952B as recommended.  I hope I get a response.

I mowed the grass tonight and I am ready for some banilla.

Good night,

Joe

Morning.  Slept late.  Off to meetings all day.  Have a great week.

Sounds like it is going to be a quiet week around here... Whistling

Fife - We're workin' on it! Big Smile

NOPE.  Was going to the lake tomorrow PM.  Now an important regional transportation meeting has commuter rail VS light rail.  King Charles [Raleigh's Mayor] wants light rail.  Rest of us Mayors want commuter rail.  Have to stay in town until Wed night or Thurs morning.  Have to be there to lead the fight.  Have to come back Thursday night as early Dr's apt Friday.  Wifey wanted to swap [mine was actually tomorrow right after lunch].  SPOILED wifey.

Fired up MTH GP30 in original NS.  No problem.  Still can't get that MTH Dash 9 to fire up.  Going to have to follow Barry B's instruction and see if it will.

Coke Zero time [no popcorn as about to pop from big meal, PLOP PLOP FIZ FIZ, Oh what a relief it is].

Good night.

Happy Monday!  Cold here - only got into the 80's today.

Walked 1/2 mile with my wife today, once in the morning and once in the evening.  More progress.

Here is one for the 'corporate funny files'. Some of you may remember my story about seeing my name on a new org. chart in a meeting a few weeks back, and that my boss knew nothing about the move.   Last Friday was payday.  I did not get my pay stub, 'cause the morning was filled up with meetings and my boss was on vacation in the afternoon.  Not unusual.  Today, I came home to find a letter from the company.  Open the letter to find that it is my pay stub - mailed from corporate!  Apparrently, my transfer to corporate (same job, same location, new boss) took effect on Aug.1.
Having my pay stub mailed is an interesting way to find out about the transfer!  Anyhow, I'm trying to determine how much fun I might have making people squirm when I ask for my pay stub, which they probably won't find, 'cause it was never here in the plant.

Scored a MoPac 200 series Alco shell on e-bay tonight.  I was wondering what road to paint my all powered A-B-A 200 series Alco project.  Now I know.  Still need a beater B unit or a B unit shell.

All for now.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cooler 62 degrees. Humidity down. Going up to 82 today with sunshine. It must have rained somewhere. Not here.

Today is a busy day. I have a few chores and then, I will go to PT. Missed going yesterday. Something came up that I had to deal with. Glad it's done. Legs need a workout.

Anyone hear from LAZ ?

Dining car is here and it's the usual for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Tuesday.

Aloha all from another gorgeous day in Chicago. Bride actually beat me at waking up today at 0500 to go sit in line at the elementary school to score a 'pick-up' pass for the youngest. Swapping out computers today, always challenging to reset everything to folk's preferences. Another 8 to do before noon. Laz should resurface soon as school is starting. Can't wait to hear more about his summer.  Ran more trains last night with the youngest. As Dennis mentioned, what a great hobby we share!

Morning [I guess].  Installer of cottage shutters for inside windows in kitchen, dining room, living room and two baths came at 8:15.  I was up at 5:30 as Pam got up and had headache and I had to do some "dog" things.  Well, this is the second reorder to get them right.  Installed kitchen and two bathrooms and all fine.  Living room and dining rooms [double windows in each room] were ordered WRONG again. Banged Head  Now it takes six weeks + to get them as they are made in CHINA!!!  If I had known that in the begining, I would have not ordered that brand.

Now to go to Cathy's and and get her JD mower and carry it back to dealer.  Cranking issues.   Does not look like I will get to lake house until Friday afternoon.  May stay until Wed. of next week [meeting early Thursday of next week].  Seems my calendar has filled up for this week.  Folks calling and wanting meetings. Banged Head

Hope the day gets better.  Have faith.  Later.

Good Evening from the Jersey Shore,

We had a GREAT VACATION. Colorado is beautiful. It started off great when Hertz upgraded me from a Chevy Impala to a Cadilac DTI. Great car and not bad on gas. The wedding went well and we had a great time. We went sight seeing, fly fishing and we had a fantastic time on the Durango - Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. I helped my friend's son straighten out his 1972 Chevy pickup. Just visiting with old friend's who are like family is always fun. My friend Bill had to show me the wood working that he did in a drug store in "Downtown Pagosa Springs", across from the mineral springs. I can't recall the name of the store, but it is the only drug store there. He built all of the counters and display racks, cases and cabinets along with the spindle work and counters.

When I got home it was a different story. When I walked into the house, I heard the well pump runnning. I went down stairs and it only was making 10lbs. I swapped out the spare pump and it did the same. I am figuring on an air leak. I found none near the pump. I think that the culprit may be the splice that we made when we accidently hit the line with the backhoe when I was installing my city water/sewer hook ups 15 years ago. Lucky enough that the well is only used for outside water and the sprinker system. I guess that I will be doing a lot of digging this weekend.

Navy Jack and Joe, My wife and I love German cooking also. One of our favorite restaurants is the German Brauhaus on Cedar Bonnet Island on the way to Long Beach Island. My favorite is their duck, hunter style with spetzle. Pricey but worth it. We go off season maybe once or twice a year.

Prayers and Thoughts to all in need.

SJ, Time for the Banilla and Rootbeer. Homemade Banilla and A&W Rootbeer, it does not get any better.

Doug - just use your best Drill Instructor voice - "Get out of here, you maggots!"

John - sounds like a great vacation so far.  Like you guys, I love the german food and also the bier!

Wes - something must be wrong, because we're not seeing your beacon lately?  Hope it can be repaired?

Miss Laz too - always love to read all the updates on here every day.  Feels like all you guys are family.

Guess I'm getting old - thought I posted on the pot last night, but don't see it.  D'oh!  Char had some good news.  Her hemoglobin was up to 9, so it's going the right direction again.  They found some problems with low folic acid, but not related to the BMT or her condition.  They expect to release her to work half-days starting in 4 weeks!

Last night I finished the shelf project for her.  Tonight I mowed the lawn, except down in the trees.  I will have to do the trees and the trimming tomorrow.  I have the materials for the vent too - last one and really only about an hour of work left to do.  My son will help me, so that's good Thumbs Up

Tardis will be ready after Warehouse 13 tonight - see you guys soon Laugh

OH - btw, Deepdiscount has a sale including some of those American History documentaries.  It includes the one about the Hobos for $8.98 with free s/h.

Good evening everyone.  Has been a good day.  Went in to do early case, but the house is full as they say and no beds to put patients in afterwards.  Looks like we will double up some cases for next week.  Did have plenty of work to do as right after I got in this morning, one of the suppliers calls to tell me that one of the items is on back order and the follow up item that we were going to use in such a case is also back ordered.  Little scrambling, but we got it figured out.

Had a nice lunch with one of my friends.  Always great to get together with people liven up a room.  As they say, some people light the room when they enter it, others lighten the room after they leave!

Son's teacher was concerned with how she thought he was not interested and was not paying attention in class.  Come to find out, he was just going ahead and doing the work while the teachers was telling the rest how to do the problems.  We have worked with him and so he has a bit of an advantage.  Just have to be careful that he doesn't get bored.

Chief, hope it works out with the meetings.  I am sure tempers will rise when the opposing sides get together.  From what you have told us about the Raleigh mayor in the past, he is stubborn and is used to getting his way...except with you.

Time for bed.
God Bless,
Dennis

Good evening all!

Yes it would be good to hear about Laz's adventures this summer. I wonder if he let the bear drive the loco?

Brutus - good news about Char. Our paryers continue for her continued healing and for all in need.

Well it tried to rain a bit and all it did was run up the humidity. So now it is 100 and 100% humidity. Heat index is 850 degrees.

Hope all have a great day tomorrow.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 62 degrees. Looks like rain. Going up  to 84 today with rain in the forecast.

Today is an easy day. Legs ache from PT, yesterday. I guess that is a good sign. I will take it easy and, maybe, run trains this afternoon. Good day for a nap.

Dining car is here for the usual breakfast.

Mornin' Fellas. Raining like the dickens today. Supposed to get between 2 - 3 inches in less than 24 hours. Hope there isn't any flooding around the house today. House is on a hill, but we have to go through a valley to get there.

Busy as a bee around here. Got the Dossier dropped off at the Adoption Agency yesterday so it should be on its way to Russia. Need to finish filling nail holes this weekend and finish painting the trim in the sunroom, then it will be time for the final inspection.

Dropped the LRRC Crane Car off at the LTS yesterday. They need to order a new boom cable and then put it back together. Leave that for the two handed able experts. I tried messing with it a little Monday night and the left hand simply isn't dextrous enough yet. Sad

Looking forward to the gathering at Fife's this weekend. Should be a good time.

Aloha all. Beauty of a day here again. Drove into the city because of a concert today. The bride will join me later and we'll meet my brother and sister-in-law to camp out under the stars and listen to the Grant Park Symphony. Glad I drove because my regular train hit someone and 3 hours later is still sitting in Barrington. Boy, that seems to be happening a lot this summer. Folks running to beat the train. Great advice, Brutus. I think it worked with the maggots. Good news, Brent. Now you wait for the referral.   Sad
