Good Morning all
Thanks for the congrats. My bride planned the evening. Riverboat Dinner, perfect weather, kids with other Grandparents, soft lights . . . .
I got off “easy” ? on the gift front. As a combo birthday/anniversary gift my bride is taking her Mom to the Holy Land on a tour. Her mom is 83 and going to the Holy Land is on her bucket list. My bride is very special, and tolerant!
Jim T- Thanks! I’m watching the 650’s,

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a foggy 70 degrees. Going up to 84 today with a chance of rain.
Today is a busy day. Chores this morning and PT this afternoon. I will work out at the Fitness Center, which is in the same building as the Out Patient Therapy room. I can drop in and say " Hello" to my favorite Therapist.
Dining car is here from "Points West" and it's the usual for breakfast.
Buckeye....TGIF
Y'all have a great Friday.

Morning guys. Prayers lifted for Bob, may God direct the surgeons and staff in charge of you. May you have complete success with the surgery and a fast recovery, with as little pain as possible.
No scheduled cases this morning, but I do have plenty of administrative items to tackle. Hope to get done early and get home. Bride is supposed to work this weekend, so I will be here with the kids. Perhaps it will be a good time to get some layout work done.
Best get going. Hope it is a great weekend for each of you.Dennis

Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s. Welcome back, MT. Thank you all for the congrats. I will pass them on to the daughter who did all the work. Congrats to Jim SP on the anniversary (almost to that mark myself (along with "saucy wench"). Good day at work as I finally got all caught up on case reports, which is the first time I have done so since I started this job. Sometimes it feels like a M*A*S*H unit in there with the reports being the "wounded", which in a sense they are. I took it easy last night, and we are having an old high school over for a visit tonight. I had the usual fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". Prayers going out to those who need them, especially Subbmmbob. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Sunny and low 90's again today.
Wife is improving - got another PT today. She wore out the first one? Looks like I'm going to be building a ramp on the steps to the deck this weekend. Not quite sure we want to tackle steps for the next month or so. I'll have to mention the idea of a tatoo to cover her new scars when I visit tomorrow. Realitively safe, as she can't throw anything yet!
FIL is improving too. Whatever attack he had yesterday has not left any visible effects. Still in the hospital for tests and observation.
My junker 200 series Alco chassis got here today. Exactly what I expected - a good source of parts for my all powered ABA project.
All for now.
Home from the lake. Drove home through a "pressure washer". Guess what? It has caught up with me. Weather allert just went off. Severe Thunderstorm Warning. No joke!!!!! A little behind with your allert. Going to bail as lightning.
Remember, Bob's surgery tomorrow.
Later
BTW: got rain at the lake today too.

Mike congrats on the new grandchild! for all that need them, seems to be alot lately. Navyjack got my RS3 yesterday from MTH. Providence and Worcester early paint scheme.Really nice. A couple of weeks ago the kids had a yard sale. They told me they were raising some money for a trip to the Lego store.Sneaky kids went and bought the Harry Potter expansion set for my birthday.
Evening All
Low 80s today, 75 right now.
I did cut the grass but did not get it trimmed. To lazy. Maybe tomorrow.
I had Breyers Peach but got banilla for the thingy gang, so pile in.

Good evening everyone. Jim, congrats on the anniversary! Looking forward to many more myself.
Rich, it was quite warm here too. We have had an on-going issue with the main level zone. They were able to get the coil under warranty (Just), from Amana. Problem is, they have attempted twice to install and Amana built the units with the inlet/outlet tubes facing the wrong way. According to Amana, they made the last lot of 10 this way and they had 8 at the warehouse. Our HVAC folks told them that they know where the other two are! Long story short, our folks just come out every 3 days to charge the system. They are hoping to have a correct unit to install this Saturday. If not, they are going to press Amana for a whole new system.
I was able to spend some time working on the layout last night. Built a wall that I need to weather and install. Hope to make a run down section of town to be the "other side of the tracks" so it will make things more interesting.
I had best go join the rest of the gang as I hear a lot of fun and laughter from upstairs. I will either join in or have to defend my honor...either way, it is best I be there. Hope everyone has a blessed night.Dennis
Mike,
Congratulations on the granddaughter.
Jim,
Congrats on the anniversary.
Rich,
Sounds like we are in the same boat job wise.
Figured I'd post while the laptop decided to work. I was all ready to fix the broken screwhole on the 740 last night when I discovered that I am out of masking tape. The 718 was waiting for me when I got home today. Aside from 3 of the 4 floor pin posts being damaged, it is very nice. That should be an easy fix though. I am still waiting on the part for my laptop, and hopefully that takes care of it. If not, I'll pull the HDD and memory and save up for another computer. I don't feel like throwing money into this one.
Evenin' boys. Evenin' English.

Hi All,
Returned from a 10 day vacation in and around Indian River, MI. Family and friends joined and the weather was great. If it wasn't for the wife having to return to work, we would have stayed another few days. There were many campers from Ohio and Indianathis year.
So I don't miss anyone I will not mention names. BUT, prayers for those greiving, in need of healing serving our country and especially those who are thanking their parents for the gift of life.
VOTE TUESDAY !!
Greetings Alll !
Just dropping in to let everyone know things are still cool here in So. Cal., No problems, or much interesting going on.
BTW RT, we havn't had a problem with any bear swimming in our pool, OR at least when a camera is around.
Don

The baby actually let me sleep in until 0700 this morning. Made the wife and 7y/o son cinnamon rolls and made daughter gluten-free pancakes. Not much scheduled for today; hopefully some train time; however, the grass in the yard is looking a bit high.
Doug – I never had roller skates to give up. I believe it’s best for me to stay off those things anyway; I’m not as nimble as I once was.
John – I guess we learn at a young age to embellish our abilities – fishermen are good examples.
Navyjack – Sorry to hear about your neighbor. We all want to be able to do more financially for people, but sometimes just being there to listen and encourage is more than enough. The sea shadow looks pretty cool, but how could it not…it looks like Vader’s head.
Mike C. – Congratulations on the new granddaughter. I’m glad the sides are now even.
8ntruck – I’m glad all went well for your wife. Sorry to hear about her brother. I pray the tests go well.
JimSP – Congratulations on the anniversary! Time flies when you’re having fun.
Regards,
Joe
Good morning
Sunny and 80s today.
Wow some good news for a change. Congrats to Phish and his bride, congrats to Mike C, I hope mom and baby are doing well. Jack granny seems to be doing good I take her back next week for a check up. All is well here for a change, grass needs cutting but its still wet from yesterdays storm. Have a great Day....S.J.
Morning, Guys!
Heat warnings today indicies for up to 110F today....
JimSP - Congas on 32 years!! Mom and Dad just did their 56th in July. Amazing considering I almost made it to 21...
I pretty much accomplished what I needed to last night, more on tap today, I have to get a few things out of my office to the truck.
for our intentions - may we all be safe & happy
Catch up later!
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
Overlap!!!! Missed this one. Jim, just one question. What manner of woman is this who would tolerate YOU for 32 years, especially with your out-of-control train vices and Chevy Chase-type family vacations? Congratulations, SOMEONE must be looking over you while sustaining your better half! In some ways this may have been the most memorable and satisfying year of the 32. God bless you and my wishes for a most happy day, which won't be most happy but will certainly be memorable if you come up short on the anniversary gift front. 88 knows some good doctors.
Jack
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Good Morning everyone,
There are numerous challenges and blessings going around to folks on the pot. Today is my bride’s and my wedding anniversary; we’ve been wed 32 years. Wow seems like yesterday.
You guys are in my prayers.
cheapclassics Good evening all, It is hot in SE Indiana today. With all the bad news and losses that people of the pot have been enduring, perhaps I can spread a little joy with some good news.......... The good news is that Elizabeth Rose was born at 1:52 PM today, entering the world weighing 7 pounds, 5.8 ounces and measuring 20 inches. Mother (oldest daughter) and daughter are both doing well. This is my fourth grandchild and evens the count at 2 boys and 2 girls. Lucas and I will be "baching" it for a few days as the "saucy wench" will be helping out with the adjustment when the baby comes home. There is a saying that goes along the lines of "a baby is God's sign that the world should go on", or words to that effect. I hope everyone has a good day. Keep on training, Mike C. from Indiana

Mike.......congratulations Grandpa! Don't you know by this time that grandfathers are not supposed to be running around soccer fields in torrid temperatures amid heat lightening strikes with unrelenting putrid humidity for hours? At least with BB you get to stand around a lot, scratch where it itches, oggle the girls in the stands, and drink beer after the game. You have my prayers that both Mom and Elizabeth Rose are home soon. You have been blessed yet again. As Joe might say right now, more than a feeling.
Thank you to all for all of your kind words of support for someone you don't even know. Too often family and close friends take this manner of support for granted, can't see the forest for the trees. Then in what seems to be a flash, the opportunity is gone and the couldas, wouldas, shouldas begin. Funeral is Saturday, a couple hour drive up to ME. Can't be late. Hope I don't get called in off the bench at the last second by the family to make a fool of myself (again) and participate in a eulogy. Whenever that happens, you only get one shot to pass on a meaningful and memorable message of strength and hope to a congregation riding their raw feelings, don't know how JimSP does it, again and again.
Rich.....you must be trashed both physically and emotionally; don't push too hard on the ride or you will find yourself in unfamiliar territory, up in a tree. SJ......hope Granny is progressing nicely after that earlier concern. 8N.....the wifey may be feeling punk and vulnerable, moving painfully and cautiously today. But fear not, she will be moving better than she has in a quite a time and your beatings will continue in a few, especially when she comes to the conclusion you make for a poor domestic. SubBob....have you picked out a tattoo yet to cover the scar? A Cobra would be most practical for coverage with either a military or automotive subtle undertone. Have you on the prayer docket for tomorrow. Chow tolerance will resume and life will be good again. Chief.....continued prayers for you and the family as things wind down. Read your posts filled with busyness (what else?) which tired me out and helped me get to sleep last night. Brent.....the room is finally ready for rest, relaxation, accident avoidance, and storage of all of the kiddy stuff, God willing. Prayers on that front. NavyJack.....prayers for your neighbor, and congas to you for helping out the best you can.
Prayers for all who need them. The sun still comes up tomorrow, so mow the lawn before she gets after you. Later, gang.
It is a cloudy and humid 70 degrees. Going up to 86 today with rain.
Today is a good day to run trains. After a few chores this morning, I will go to the train room for some quality time. Need to dust again. I have some scenery work to do and plans for more. I think I will order a covered hopper and a gondola car. I have no gondola cars.
Dining car rolled in from "Points West" and we will have the usual Cheerios breakfast.
Y'all have a great Thursday.
It may be rainy in SE Indiana, but it is supposed to cool down a little. Tired still from last night's game. Glad I do not have to drive today. Normally I would be a little bit bummed about how the season ended, but I know another one starts soon. I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL anytime and I can crive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Morning guys.
8N, good news, hope she continues to progress.John, hate that you have that hanging over the head. HOpe they are able to keep everyone on.Mike, congrats! I know you are proud of each of those grandkids.Jack, keep her memory close. My thoughts are with you friend.Chief, still been praying for you and the family.Bob, Praying for a smooth path ahead for you.
Gotta run, but I will continue to pray for a number of other folks here too. Rich, hope you have a smooth transition and find work real soon.
God Bless,Dennis
Finished painting the suspension parts today. Not sure if I will be able to install any of them tomorrow or not. Just walking a few blocks down to the pharmacy has got me going tonight.
Mt friend Ron took me to the Covair club meeting tonight. Nice meeting and everyone was very supportive. Ron even gave me a card signed by the members. And I got to ride in his Greenbriar
I think tomorrow I may just straighten up the house and get ready for my friend who is coming down from Phoenix area this weekend to watch me.
8N - glad to hear your wife is doing well and prayers for her dad
NavyJack - I helped remove and install a head and cylinder on an Alco RS-2 for the Nevada Northern. I got to ride in the cab of the RS-3 when we used it for hostling the steam locomotive. They sound even better than they look.

hello guys, it just occured to me what a nice looking engine an rs-3 is. i have one by mth in u.p. the nyc looks nice. i have changed my avatar to the new navy stealth boat, the sea shadow. it is 164 ft long and looks like darth vadars helmet. i thought you guys would enjoy it. anyone get any good deals lately? looks like lots of good deals to be had on choo choo auctions. new issue of ctt is great. each one is better. in my opinion, it is the most professional of the o gauge magazines. wes how you been doing bro? navyjack
Sunny and about 90 today.
Good news/bad news sort of day. Good news - my wife is out of the ICU and into a regular room. The thearpist had her out of bed for a short walk. You are right Chief - she is on the road to recovery.
Now,the bad news is a phone message from her brother when I got home that her dad went into the hospital today. Maybe a stroke, maybe some sort of other cardiac 'event'. More tests and news tomorrow.
Household chores? Sure! I'm right up to date with them.
Prayers for those in need.
Mike C. - Congas and those are Good words, I like it...
Evenin' Boys, the MOON is rising up from the east, my tool boxes are in the truck, the train tables are history and I'm beat. It's at least 80F and humidity is outta sight.
Oldest couldn't be bothered to help get the tool boxes in the truck, so the Princess stepped in and gave it her best. Too heavy and the ramp started bending, we backed off removed a few drawers and VIOLA! up the ramp she went. That was the 2 tier box, the 3 tier box was very light and issued no problems. I still have to get my tool locker in there and then all the boxes. And I'm still packing....
John, no worries, there will be something on the horizon, I'm just flooding the job market with resumes, something will stick, eventually....
Fife, I'll call when I hit the Quantico, that should give a decent timeframe...who knows whats gonna happen...Chief, if you were on the way, I'd stop in....
I'm gonna shower up sit with the Princess for a bit and hit the bed. We'll see ya all tomorrow.
