Good afternoon all,
IIABSDISEI with temps near 90. Rain is supposed to move in and cool things down. Watched Mexico and Argentina today. Very bad non call on an offside, may have changed outcome of game, but Argentina was much better. US game was just a disaster yesterday. Perhaps we will never get it. I did have some good news today as I got an e-mail from my Norwegian soccer friend. I had cereal and a doughnut this morning on the dining car for breakfast. TBIL anytime. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

cnw1995 I joined the iPod generation yesterday after resisting for years - got an iPod Touch on sale and hope to fill it wtth everything but music.
Doug--you will really enjoy your new iTouch, we now have one for the boss as she fell in love with mine while she was on her recent trip overseas. Great for pics, internet AND MUSIC ... seriously, consider loading your favorite albums or singles on there, get a great set of ear buds and your daily commute will turn into "less stressful". If we had decent ATT service I would own an iPhone in a heartbeat but we don't, the iTouch is an iPhone minus the phone and camera capabilities. It's a super little computer

So many roads, so little time.
Happy first day of the week guys. Was going to post last night, but reclinerized and wife woke me up and sent me to bed. NIce chats with RT and SJ though! Plan to work on the basement a bit today and maybe grill up something for dinner if we don't get rain.
Prayers for all and for our friends and loved ones.
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Morning all!
NavyJack - hang in there. Too bad we are all spread out.
John - be prepared for more leaky nuclear plants.
It was already 92 here at 9:30 am. Another typical Texas summer day. The good news is it gets hotter by August!
Still working on painting Son's room. Spent yesterday prepping the walls, etc. One crack from foundation shifting I decided not to patch since it will just come back in a few months. Son picked this pretty outrageous green color. He was originally thinking his HS colors but dark forest green and black were too dark for him. The best way to describe the color is electic apple green?
Too bad the US Soccer team lost yesterday. Watched the entire game. Unfortunately the US team really did not show up for the game until the second half. If the team had played the first half like they did the second half they would have won the game in my opinion.
NASCAR today!
Hope everyone has a great day today.
Regards, Roy
navyjack - Dream - Plan - Build Video Series Volume 3 had a good segment on the Shay on30, both prototype and toy. Any possibility of getting your SIL interested in trains, at least to set up a test track? Your grandson soon will be old enough to play with the trains to.
Any one else getting this series? Lots of "how to" ideas for layout, stick building, brass kits, weathering, Etc.
16 - 90 degree + days in a row here. Hibernating except for moving the cows from field to field and watering plants. Even let the grass and weeds go (except in the garden).

Good Morning

good morning guys, welcome from the worst county in illinois for unemployment. won a few die cast vehicles on ebay, wes still trying to win a shay(on30).i figure with the light weight and ease of assembly, i might be able to find someone who would help me set up a test track. i still have the urge to see trains run. i have all but given up on seeing my 3 rail trains run. have been very depressed, feel worthless. sorry for venting. still no results from the va on my case for appeal(along with 400,000 other guys.)saw great inspirational youtube video about rolling thunder 2010. a marine ssgt stood at attention for three hours while vets on harleys passed. god bless all, care about all my american friends. chief hope you have been ok. have not heard from you. navyjack
Mornin' boys. Mornin' English. Hot alllllllready! Not sure what's on the plate today, a lil' breakfast, a lil' laundry, then it's anybody's guess. Had a nice time at the TCA banquet (Sheraton was trying to save a few bucks on the AC, me thinks...). Table 54 was rockin'. Good folks from Sacramento (next year's venue), Kansas, and of course our friends from Michigan. Wifey won a little trolley, I won a patch... She loves to watch the auction, but I have to keep a close eye on her so that she doesn't throw her arm up in the heat of the action.
Phish - Say hi to Jack while you're in Mass.
Banks - Thought that was you...
jonadel - Pretty cool that the Buckeyes stopped by. This is what makes the Coffee Pot so darn special.
cheapclassics - Heard on the news of some kind of loss...my condolences.
mitchie - I have a rare and expensive TCA patch if you're interested...
Good Morning from the Jersey Shore, 81 and going to 94, sunny now with a chance of a stray thunderstorm. Thunderstorms???
Rockisland52, Jack, to answer your question about thunderstorms.they keep forecasting and where I live we have not seen rain in over a week. In fact we have a large forrest fire in Barnegat Twp., that as of last night consumed 150acres and where it is, because of the terrain all we can do is surround and contain.
Roy, Leaky Nukes, we are batting a 1000 here. Since Exelon bought Oyster Creek Nuclear Gen Plant the next town over, it seems that they have cheapened up on maintenance. They played the good neighbor until the license was renewed. Now there is a trinium leak into the ground water and they are playing games with the DEP. Oyster Creek is the oldest nuke plant in the country.
Spanky, I am glad that it all went well with your Father's service.
Prayers and thoughts for all in need.

Aloha all. I thought I felt a disturbance in the Force which must've been Buckeye passing by on his way west. Glad the ceremony went off, DJ. Prayers for Fifepup and Roy's pup, Sounds like everyone is in the throes of summer. I joined the iPod generation yesterday after resisting for years - got an iPod Touch on sale and hope to fill it wtth everything but music. Looks like more of a sabbath for me today as the bride canceled some elaborate plans

JUST A SPLASH AND GO.
After yesterday's dual birthday party for the granddaughters with about 40 in attendance, the place looks like a tornado hit my place. I was up at 6AM taking care of the final details and didn't hit the rack until after midnight. I am wiped.
Spanky......prayers for your Dad. Glad to hear the service went well. Emotionally trying, but a celebration of his life.
Roy and Fife......your kids are resilient! Glad to hear both are making the best of the situation and are gutting it out in the best way they know how.
Jon......better check your train inventory. Wes may have stashed a few items under a blanket in the trunk of his car.
Later gang.
Jack
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a sunny 72 degrees. Going up to 88 today with sunshine.
Today is an easy day. After a few chores, I will spend the day in the train room. Need to run some trains and watch the Nascar race.
Not much else new here.
Dining car is here with the usual breakfast.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
Chuck
Evening all
Busy day as usual. Got up early and washed down inside the camper. Then a funeral for a fellow Deacon and friend, evening services then loaded the camper onto the truck and moved to where it will be easier to load. The kids are so excited. We plan on stopping at Caballa’s as we cross the border!
I tore down the new to me Ruger GP100 polished up the finish and cleaned it. From the serial number it was made in 2001 and now it looks like new. I am anxious to shoot it but can’t see that happening till next weekend at the earliest.
Got a couple houses for the All Aboard panels.
Rich – Got something in the mail for you.
I’ll try and start the SPF in te morning before I leave for early Mass.
Prayers for Granny, Chief’s Mom and Jim’s bride
May God bless
Jim
Ghana played dirty .... fouls not called against them ... ... I especially loved that type of dropkick in the back to one of the American players ! Oh well what could you expect ?
Spending alot more time with family members lately ... house has been full all weekend on and off . Had to rewire 1/2 of the kitchen receptacles this weekend .... I guess after 35 years some were getting a bit old ... lol . Thank the lord for a bro-in-law that is an expert on house wiring ... one was a ground fault or something problem ... lost me but he had them all working in an hour or so . He and my son and my son's buddy a licensed electrician is going to put a new breaker box in .... about double the size of this one for the train room and 2 buildings ... one we already built and another just started . What's great is I only have to pay for the components at wholesale and NO LABOR !!! The crossover arrived today ... nothing else train related to tell .
Hello all,
Back from the beach !!!!!!!!!!!! It was quite a trip. (more on that later) Got back about 4:30. Car is unloaded and I'm ready for bed.
Waved to Fife from the Bay Bridge today. He wasn't paying attention 'cause he didn't wave back. Hillclimb tomorrow so it'll take me a few days to catch up.
Prayers for all those who may need them.

Hi Guys
Sun and 87 today
No breaking news, got banilla and waiting for the thingy.
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 90s. Hearts are sad in the US as the men's team gave up two easy goals and lost to Ghana. Having nice visit with grandson. Played outside a lot earlier before the game and before it got too hot. I had cereal and doughnuts on the dining car for breakfast. TBIL anytime. I hope everyone has a good day.
Mornin' All.
Museum run was not what one mite call a sterling event. Gremlins, electronic not two lgged, were out and about for almost the entire day. Have a few things to check out today.
The better half is out the door this morning to participate with our daughter & the munchkin in the "Relay For Life" event. I don't go down and walk, I just spend most of the night and early morning cooking and packing for their team. Hope that they really walk-up an apetite, don't think I want to see any macaroni salad for at least six months.
Jon, You say the Clan Buckeye is heading for UP territory. That could mean they might turn-up anywhere, UP is seen N, E, W & S. Didn't want to say what first came to mind as some mite take offense.
Time to go check on yeterday's loco's and rolling stock.
Later All.

Morning all
Jon - good to hear Buckeye's vacation is going well.
It is good Buckeye is out of the state. They are cranking up that leaky nuclear reactor in Oak Harbor, OH. The govm't put some conditions on the restart - that people from Ohizo cannot visit out of state folks at night because when one turns the lights off nothing appears to happen.
Going to repaint son's room today. He is moving around real well now. Some buddies came and picked him up to take him to a HS league baseball game last night.
Humid and hot here.
Good Morning From The Jersey Shore,
Went out fishing at 5:30 this morning and fished until 8:00. The tide was coming in but they defrosted the freezers at my wife's ice cream shop and we had to give them a hand putting the ice cream back. About the trip, the boat ran fine. Barnegat Bay was empty, boats and fish. Including us, I saw 4 boats fishing. If we saw 30 boats out there it was a lot. Bad economy and fishing.
Spanky, I am glad that you got your power back.
S.J., You must really miss Granny. This is her way of putting you on a diet.
We were honored last night to host Mr. & Mrs. Buckeye as overnight guests. What a great time discussing and solving the worlds problems--at least those related to the wonderful hobby we all enjoy
The evening went way to fast and all of a sudden it's close to midnight, dang it. After a good night's rest with thunderstorms as the morning alarm clock we all enjoyed breakfast, looking at train videos and then said goodbye to them as they continue their journey west. They are headed into Union Pacific territory and I know their day is going to be a good one with lots of rail fanning.
Other important news is that Roseyville is in a heap 'o trouble this next winter, lots of snow and freezing rain on tap for the Chief. Mother Nature said she would cooperate completely
Overcast now, and 80s today
I had a good breakfast this AM eggs, fried taters, sausage and toast. I've been eating burnt offerings all week while granny was babysitting. No plans for the day, I'll just see how it goes.....S.J.
Aloha all. Terrific storms overnight on their way to Sir J, Kurt and points east. Sorry. Got up at 0-dark-thirty to take in the towels and take down the new umbrella which were conveniently left out. What a light show! DJ, so glad you got the power back in time. We've been very fortunate since our entire part of the county has buried utilities. ComEd screamed but they rarely go out. Note to self: never ever get a pool. The bride's had a tough week of drama, so took her and the youngest for pizza last night. He promptly lost his Toys R Us birthday giftcard he got from my sister while trying to leave his own $1 tip. Fountains of tears. But he meant well so we'll make it up today.
Mornin' boys. It's a Wayne, NJ kinda day in the Mid-Atlantic region. Graduation party at noon, then TCA Banquet tonight.
Went to the trading hall at the convention center yesterday. Not a great deal of vendors, but lots of Flyer stuff. Sorry to say, attendance was light. Lots of nice layouts on display, and I tried out my new digital camera, so hopefully get something loaded for SPF. But, did see a lovely couple we made friends with at the Vermont meet. They missed a layout tour, so we piled in my car and I showed them mine. Nice time had.
Took Fifepup swimming for the first time last night. I could see the trepidation on the life guard's face as he hobbled to the edge, but once in the water, he was like a fish. He was actually beating his old man as we swam laps. With the bad "fin" I started calling him NEMO.
88 - Probably because I live here, it's been anti-climatic for me. It seems like the top events were the Naval Academy tour, and the Lash layout. Everything else I've pretty much done before, that's why I figured I'd lend my services...just didn't pan out. If it weren't for the Banquet, I would be in Petersburg,WV for the RailFest. South Branch Valley just repainted their F-Unit #722 into a B&O blue-grey-black livery, and it is beautiful!
Roy - Best regards on the McPup.
green97probe Jack, I wish I could put the loss in the small stuff category, but $350 doesn't fit to me. What was I thinking when I traded all that stuff? I have no idea. That was the second biggest mistake I've ever made.
Jack,

Don't worry. As you get older the $350 mistakes become the little ones.
It is a cloudy 68 degrees. Sun is trying to break out. Going up to 85 today with a chance of rain , later.
Today is an easy day. The usual chores and then, I will relax. PT went well yesterday. A little achy today. Maybe I will run trains this afternoon.
Y'all have a great Saturday.
Made it north tonight with the family. Word from the woods is momma bear had 5 cubs this year. I will try to get some pics.
Not sure what the plans are for the weekend. I think I'll just make it up as I go..

Sunny and about 90 today.
Have to go into work for some time tomorrow. Trying to recover from all of the setbacks we've been fighting most of the week. - Mama said there'll be days like that!
If the rain holds off tomorrow, we'll be racing. More set up changes made to loosen the car up a little.
Still watching that 200 series Alco on e-bay. By the bid list, it looks like a couple of others are too.
TGIF. Watching disaster movies with my wife, eating popcorn, drinking diet cola spiked with 'shine.
All for now.
