Mostly cloudy and 70's today.  Line of storms approaching, so we will get some thunder tonight.  If the storms hang together long enough, they might get to Brutus' place about sunrise.

Chief - re. the pollen.  You didn't think that it was only snow in the snow cannon this winter, did you?

Another entertaining week at work.  We have a bunch down from corp. holding all day meetings about productivity, uptime, etc. The meetings are running from 7am to 7pm.  Just heartbroken that I was not invited.  My normal hours are not that much different, though.......

Ran trains for a bit last night.  Having trouble with a Fastrack switch.  It has power to the rails, but the power to the switch is off unless there is a locomotive on the switch.  Weird.  I think there might be a loose connection inside the switch - when I push down on both ends of the switch, the power comes on.

That's it for now.

Busy day today, but I got a bit done. Radios are on the way. Gave a friend another old piece of test equipment he can use. Cleaned up the yard a bit. Bought some more Corvair parts. Set up the track on the new table and ran the 2025 a bit. Will actually try wiring some of the switches next time. Going to play w/ the new size on Xtrkcad this week.

Time to go find a pillow.

Bob

P.S. now that they have the recon golf cart, Rolesville is purchasing a bunch of septic tanks. As soon as they figure out how to run them they are going to invade Ohio...

The government here are concerned at the number of accidents being caused by invalid buggies and are proposing instruction and testing/licencsing.

Shall I put the Chief down for a course???

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a clear 58 degrees. Going up to 78 today with mostly sunshine.

Today is an easier day. Got the new brakes installed on the car. Looks good. Grass is mowed. Looks like summer. But.....there is a little more winter lurking out there. I expect some more cold weather before May.

I have physical therapy today. Walking with the cane is a priority.

Dining car is almost here. Menu includes an omlet for breakfast.

Y'all have a great  Wednesday.

Good morning all,

It is cloudy and mild in SE Indiana.  All in good fun, Chief, all in good fun.  Did nothing last night except some LEGO time.  Tried to start mowers just  to start.  Old one works fine; new one has a gas leak somewhere as entire tank drained.  Been a lemon since I bought it.  May get rid of it and get a Toro.  Last JD I ever get.  Had streusel and cereal on the dining car.  TBIL anytime tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Morning all!

Nice and cool here this morning. 70's today and nice weekend in store.

Used the cool morning to dig up and replace a broken sprinkler head. They are spring loaded and either due to age or being hit by the lawnmower wheels too much, the retaining cap breaks and the internal riser shoots out onto the lawn. Then you have to look for where the hole is that it came from. Worst case just turn the sector on for a moment and watch for the geyser.

The UP Northern is coming to our area this weekend starting Friday. A buddy and I are contemplating going to see it roll through Friday (road trip!).

Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy

Pat,

If the beaver eats grits, it'll be history before the Chief even gets a chance.

Chief,

If you want another red golf cart, let me know.Wink

I have not had a chance to post due to the increase in work at this point in the semester.  Spent 4 hours on Easter trying to remove the oil filter on the golf cart sunfire LOL.  Can't get any tools on it due to it pointing straight back at the firewall and a sensor in the way, so I had to reach down from the top with my left hand to unscrew it.  Not easy.  I did a flush and changed the oil and filter due to the oil light flashing at idle, but that didn't solve the problem.  Oil level is right where it should be and there aren't any leaks, so I am thinking it is the pump.  If that is the case, I am not going to waste any more time or money on it.

I might be picking up another PGT locally, but that is still up in the air.  It is a white 97 GT with 200K on it, tan leather, ATX, and sunroof.  It is an R title, so I am waiting on some pics before making the trip to see it.

Good Afternoon everyone.  Was quite a day.  Very LONG case and I am just getting home.  Wife and kids are still not home.  I think they will miss their violin lessons tonight if they don't get here soon.  Poor dog didn't want to go out this morning and was in till I got home after 4pm.

Have a bit more work to get done with movie stuff tonight and then I hope to have a quiet one.  Bit on the tired side.

Chief, a environment type from UGA was on the radio yesterday talking about how the Pollen is the worst they have seen in years.  They suspect it is because it was a cold and long winter that gave way to a sudden burst of high temperatures.  Instead of the pollen being released over several weeks, it all came at once.

God Bless,
dennis

Jim (PGT),

I am not familiar with the PGT but oil pumps do not fail very often, but oil pressure sensors do fail. Since the oil pump is typically a mechanical gear pump in most cases when it fails you are going to lose the engine if the failure has injected metal schrapnel into the oil galleys.

I would put a mechanical oil pressure gauge on it and check idle pressure level. Check your manual but most engines run about 25-40 psi at idle.

If you have pressure in the PGT limits then your sensor has failed. A quick cheap way if you do not have an oil pressure guage and the plumbing to hook it up - just buy a replacement oil pressure sensor and install it and see if the problem persists, but the only reliable test is using a real guage directly on the engine. Even if you have a oil pressure guage on your dash, it is still an electrical guage with a sensor on the engine block. Apologies if I am duplicating something you already know.

Roy,

I am having issues with the sunfire, not the Probe.  The bad part is my powertrain warranty expired 2 months ago.Banged Head  It only has 83K on it, and it has given me more trouble than the Probe has, which is currently at 189,712 miles.  No more GM for me.  As soon as I start working full time after getting my EET degree this May, I will be dumping the sunfire and be in the market for a 05+ Mustang GT.

It still could just be the sensor. What he gave you was good info no matter who made it even if it was a hugo

hello guys, is the yatchet a new navy ship type?  i have never seen one before.  it looks like you could arm it in dangerous times by setting down and puttin a shotgun across your legs.  is it real seaworthy?  or just good in rivers?  hope my worst fears are not true, that it is a new secret weapon that the admiral has cooked up to cruise up the rivers to  the north. navyjack

RT,

It could just be the sensor, but I am not sure I want to invest the time or money to find out.  I have had nothing but trouble with this car since I bought it.  That gets a bit aggrevating when you fix a problem only to have more things go south.  I tried to like it, but I am tired of it at this point.

Got the pics of the PGT I mentioned earlier.  Aside from a missing fender cap and some rust on the lip of the hatch, it looks very very nice.  I am not a big fan of white vehicles, but I like the way Probes look in white.

Chief - re. the pollen.  You didn't think that it was only snow in the snow cannon this winter, did you?

I knew it.  Yankees are doing it.  Still firing pine pollen.  Horrible.

Evening.  Busy day.  Early walk with one Elementary School and then one at 11 AM with the other one in Town.  Then walked to neighbor's who has cleaning service.  She is going to have her crew come and "spring clean" behind the window guys [windows were out when pollen was so bad].  Got home and had to go to a meeting.  Came back home and put ogle horn on golf cart [for Lucy, tells her we are ready to ride at the lake].  Then put "pigtail" on for Battery Tender for cranking battery.  Pam, Lucy and I took golf cart to the pond and fed deer, fish, geese and birds just before dark.   Just got to computer.

Beaver Day.  Come here little beaver and see my new tiny Ruger .380 APC. Whistling  [did not have to shoot one this year.  kept destroying their dam and they gave up and left]

Mike C., better not let Jon E hear you bad mouth a JD.  There is suppose to be an electric fuel cut off on those.  Before you crank it, check the crankcase and see if it has gas in with the oil.  Use to have a old Murray [did not have an electric fuel cut off] and the needle would not seat in the seat.  Gas would leak from the carb to the crankcase.  I put an inline manual cut off valve and cured it. [like you use to shut off a propane or a natural gas line]  Cut fuel off and let it run out of fuel.  Get ready to start, turn her on and crank her up.

I'm hungry.  Missed dinner [well supper down in the South].  BTW: drank 10 glasses of sweet ice tea today.  I was thursty.

On the Yatchet [Jerry Clower use to use that word for yacht].  Seems I must have embarssed Fifey.  Don't think he has posted since. Confused

Later. AHCURCHEW!!!!!!

Nice chats with da giz tonight.  Cleaned out new fridge and checked the setup.  The guy didn't secure the water line to the back of the fridge, so I did that and also made sure it was good and tight.  We'll dump the first full bin of ice, but all should be cool now (so to speak)!  Time for an adult beverage (test) Laugh

Tardis is ready and I hear tell of more apple pie and banilla!

Partly cloudy and a bit of rain this afternoon.  Supposed to go down into the 30's tonight.

Got the bits and pieces from Train Tender installed on my milk car tonight.  Now I've got two sliding shoes instead of one sliding shoe and one tripping shoe.  Those shoe rivets are buggers to set!  If I have to do any more of them, I think I'll have the guys in the machine shop make me a little jig to hold evertyhing.

Too bad those misquetoes found in Michigan's upper pinnsula are too big to fit in the snow cannon.  Would be entertaining to send a couple of them down Chief's way.  Heck, they would probably take care of his beaver problem.  His new hand gun would only make them mad though......

 All for now.
