For being at Bristol it sure was a rather quiet and sedate race.

Good evening all,

It is a cloudy but better day than predicted in SE Indiana.  Wife decided to have a nice meal for Lucas before he went back to school and so we had my dad over as well.  I did go to the YMCA for weights.  I tried the treadmill and the toe said no.  Dad and I watched the NASCAR race.  Real racing returns next week with IRL in St. Petersburg :-)   I had bacon and biscuits on the dining car after it rolled in from "Points East".  Plans look good for the Tardis, Brutus, so when can we start implementing them?  TBIL after "Desperate Housewives".  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

SNOW?????  I was in short sleeves all day.  Worked at the pond and rifle range until 6.  Then wifey and I went to Texas Steak House.  Just got back.  Tired.  Clocks to wind [every Sunday night, old ones, one was my Grandfather's].  Chat later.

DougD.--

Northern Iowa showed up ready to play and did put the big hurt on Kansas.  It probably didn't make your newspaper but one of the "big stars" on the Kansas team was trash talking to UNI guys while they were warming up.  They just ignored him and made him eat his words.

What's interesting is that the team is made of up of some very nice young men plus their graduation rate is extremely high.  Very proud of them.

Still working on plans for our visit to Sandy Eggo next month.

Jon

Jon, The way they were turning the ball over in that last minute & a half I thought they were gonna collapse. But that last three pointer just put the spurs to the Jayhawks big time.

Looks like Roy will also be out here as well in April.

It felt good not having to "work" today. After sitting here with my back hurting from the home chore list I have second thoughts.

GN Mountain Goat: Glad to hear that you, family and home survived the flooding.

The only way the storm could have been worse was if it snowed and the possibility was in the forecast, The temp was dropping and if we had snow the weatherman said it would have been 5 to 7 feet with mountainous drifts.

The weather here was great today.

No snow here, but it did drizzle and rain a lot and temps are down.  In KC my in-laws got like 9 inches on the driveway - cleared it and roads were fine.  It's all melting away already, too warm to last now.

Mike Thumbs Up  We have to fix that chameleon circuit so those stout lads in Stockport don't confiscate our Time and Space Machine!  Ready to go now and I made some chocolate chip cookies for desert tonight, so let's hit it!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Hudson, a family friend from a while ago named Jack Kalman was a lineman for PSE&G.  He used to love the bad weather as it would add some serious coin to his bank account.  He was a hard worker and earned it, but he also worked a lot of over time in those days.  He passed away several years ago from cancer.

Well, added some "rust" to the sides of some of my track.  Have a couple of loops to still do, plus the yard.  Also came up with dimensions for the building to fit the hole I need done.  Will use some black foam core board for that.  I also have the Legacy batteries charging up....I know Chief, I will  most likely change to disposable batteries, but going to give these a try.  If all goes well, I can have it hooked into the system and run some trains tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great week ahead.
God Bless,
Dennis

Just came in with Lucy and Burg [Lucy started barking like crazy so had to take her out].  CAT!!!!  How she knew it was there????? and she was asleep.   Still real warm and breezy.  Suppose to start raining [showers I think].  Having cramps real bad.  Right hand and especially thumb.  Then arch of both feet and then into the toes.  Statens I think.  Generic.  I think its a replacement for Crestor.  Not sure.  Took Lipator until State Health[less] Plan forced us to change.  Sounds like Obama Health.   To save money, forced to take something not as good as the original.  Off to bed.  Good night all.

Hello fellas.

Well after trying to seperate my leg from my body back in November I have finally gotten back outside to work on the sunroom. We decided to forego the wood siding and go with vynil siding. Have 1 wall done and have some done on another. Going isn't too bad, just a lot of measuring and cutting with all these windows! Supposed to rain all day tomorrow and maybe part of Tuesday. Hope to have the rest of the 2nd wall and some of the 3rd wall done by the weekend and finish hanging the siding on Saturday. Then it will be back inside to finish the spackling. It is going to be a race to the finish to see if I can get this done by May (The Q has a sorority function the 2nd Thursday... gonna be interesting).

Had some family over yesterday for my b-day. Received a few CDs and Blu-ray movies I have been wanting. Only train related item was Crabby Matt's Crab Shack. REALLY nice accessory. It is an old B&O Heavyweight Passenger car that has been converted into a crab shack. Has impressive detailing on the outside and the interior is fully detailed with real figures (no siloettes on this baby). Also has smoke unit and diner sounds. Can't wait to get her installed on the layout... one more reason to get the sunroom finished. The Q has cleared me to work on the layout for a bit after the sunroom is done. Should be nice because that will be about the time that Global Warming Summer hits MD.

SD & RT - prayers out for you and your families

Roy - hope you feel better and glad the daughter is OK. Hopefully that bonehead learned his lesson and won't hesitate like that again.

We took the cats to the vet yesterday... what a time that was! We now have to put drops in both of their ears twice a day for 21 days! I have been looking for kevlar reinforced gloves that go to the elbow... so far no luck! Big Smile

When I went out to work on the sunroom this morning I found the damage done by the snow storms last month. The trim around the door and the exterior door frame took some water damage. Nothing major, but I have got to get the wood sealed, primed, and painted... FAST. Went to The Home Despot and bought a door frame kit made of plastic wood. That should held some, but I think a storm door is in our future, but will have to wait till after the construction is finished and the occupancy permit has been received. I did open the windows yesterday and I was impressed with the airflow that resulted from opening them, the skylights and the pocket door. Looks like the sunroom will be a nice room to relax in.

With our plan we have an option, very low co-pay with generics or a higher co-pay for non-generics. Don't want to touch the votes tonight, all the lefties mite get their skivvies all in a wad.

Feel a bit better tonight, maybe the new meds w/o the side efects are begining to work.

Now I'm used to all species of our feathered friends visiting our yard from time to time but today kinda "took the cake" so to speak. Our cockatiel who is in the livingroom started squawking and screeching like crazy. Fearing he mite have hurt himself somehow I go to look and lo-n-behold just outside the window where he sits is a huge Peacock. Told the wife it's a good thing it weren't a turkey that big otherwise he'd be in the freezer tonite.

Roy,

Good to see you with us again.  I am glad that your daughter is alright.

Brent,

          Who makes the crab shack?

I have been enjoying the weather here this weekend.  Took the PGT out Friday afternoon and put about 20 more miles on it just driving around.  Ran great.Thumbs Up  Fuel gauge even starting working again after I filled it up.Yeah!!  I spent this morning reinstalling the stock air intake in the sunfire and removing the windshield banner.  Ran some Flyer and did a bit of work on the layout this afternoon.

Good morning all,

It is rainy in SE Indiana.  Brutus, glad the new circuitry is working properly and doing the job.  Sure would miss those Tardis' trips if it had to go back.  Watched "Desperate Housewives".  Some of the story lines get a little eccentric, but usually the episodes are good.  Not much else to report.  I had the regular fare on the dining car.  TBIL anytime tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Damp & 58 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Got 3/4 of the boat bottom finished.  Must have looked good, as a couple other guys asked if I'd be interested in painting their's.  No thank you.  Picked up Thomas after having some high-lights added, and proudly perched him on the living room wall.  Wifey wants new lamps now.

88 - Don't forget to take the left over spackle downstairs and "butter" some on the layout.

Probe/dwiemer - I appreciate AF from a safe distance.

Ole Timer - Just lemme know...Wink  Had the creeks eased up in Cumberland?  they were getting mean this past week.

Hello from cloudy and cool South Georgia/NE Florida...

Stayed up late to watch my children and my grandchildren loose their future.

I wonder how George Washington feels......must be time for another revolution.

Well, we lost the championship softball game, through no fault of mine---went 2 for 4 and scored twice.  Made 2 sparkling plays from behind the plate....yanked out for a guy who could barely play the position...and struck out with players on base for the win...oh well, maybe they’ll learn next year.

Did homework with the princess yesterday, went shopping for bike stuff...yup this week I’ll be riding to work.  Had roast beef for dinner and then watched Gene Simmons...another cliff hanger for next week.

Hope to pick up my “new” engine later....pictures soon after.

OK Check ya later...my boss has a project for me...whhooo boooy..

Aloha all. Glad to see so many posting. Prays for Roy's daughter,  RT and Sir J - oh heck, I pray for all of youse so there. Wink Boy, someone other than JJ has got to win a race sometime. I wonder why they don't race in the damp - does the track get that slick? The bride outdid herself with an early 'Easter' dinner for some friends she wanted to honor. I'm still stuffed. Tentatively worked out vacation plans for HHI this July. Feel very lucky to plan one. Funny how the youngest perked up as soon as the others left for church yesterday. Not feeling too well myself this morn. Hope it's nothing after the saga of last week. A little warmer today and sunny so the snow's being chased away. I'm reminded this morn of a quote attributed to Otto von Bismarck that goes something like: "laws and sausages have something in common: you should never watch them being made." Wink.

Hmmm, looks like Metra is installed Positive Train Control. That ought to be interesting. It really means the host RRs: UP and BNSF are installing it. South Shore trains not running at all this morning due to 'significant overhead wire damage' - ugh.

Good morning all.  Watching the sad disintegration of our rights unfold on TV right now.  Quite a lot of legal issues that hopefully will stop it.  Gee, they are saying now that members of congress will have a different health plan than the rest of us...wasn't that one of the chief promises?  Oh, never mind.

Chief, yes, Crestor is a statin, and most statins are pricey.  They have changed them back and forth for the different health plans.  Sometimes, one is listed on your "preferred list", only to be switched with another and then back again.  Call your MD's nurse to see if they can switch you back due to the side effects.  Then, also check with the pharmacist to see if your insurance will cover brand specific if signed by the MD.

Going to look into a propane weed trimmer from Sears as it would solve the issues of dealing with the ethanol that ruined my last one.  It will also be cleaner as I won't have to deal with mixed gas, etc.

God Bless,
Dennis

Good morning everyone,

Not only are statins pricey but they can also damage your liver! I quit taking them and started taking red yeast rice and made a reasonable effort to lower my cholesterol intake. Been doing ok ever since- 60 years under my belt and no heart attack/stroke yet, thank God!

The 28th Amendment is only a proposal, and in my opinion will never become law.

What is the law is an Executive Order can not trump written law. When the health bill is signed into law, no executive order can change it, even an existing one. The American people have been duped again. I hope Bob K gives me a little leeway on this one.

Morning all!

Already 55 here this morning and the snowstorm is merely a dream now.

It does not matter what side one is on, the new health care plan is going to significantly raise costs to everyone who has health care now. And this does not include the unintended consequences of the current bill. Every law passed ends up with years of "corrections" to fix the serious problems in the new law (unintended consequences). There is no way to add 32 million uninsured folks and not raise costs for everyone. The 32 million cannot afford the $12,000 per year for a family of 4 for basic health insurance (government's stated number) so someone is going to pay. Also note the bill contains a provision as I understand it and as printed in today's paper that those with a "rich" plan (i.e. good benefits) will pay a 40% excise tax (40% is absolutely ridiculous for any tax) that will be fully born by the plan recipiant (even though the company providing the plan is expected to pay the tax it is admitted the cost will be passed onto the recipiant of the plan). As reported this morning the only cost contributor is an expected $500M per year "savings" in efficiencies in Medicare and other government health programs. Apologies - but one cannot build an even bigger government agency to administer all this and use "efficiency" in the same sentence.

Here in Texas we have deregulated electricity and freedom of "choice" for providers and we now pay the highest per KWH in the country.

Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy
