Ole Timer,
We tried the C7/C9 LED lights on the tree, and we switched back to the regular bulbs. Althought the LED type doesn't generate heat like the regular bulbs, they lack the light output and character of the bulbs. As I was typing this post, I saw that you mentioned those smaller bulbs. I hate those. Put them in the garbage where they belong.
Did your 360 get the RROD? I have a feeling that mine will develop that shortly. When you do buy another, go to Best Buy and get their replacement plan to go with it.

Not much going on today. I'd like to thank all those who are serving and have served. It is unfortunate that they don't always get the respect that they deserve.
baberuth73 - I have found that RailPictures.net is a good place to track your favorite train. I believe the NS OCS is in Illinois this week.
It is the Soldier
by Marine Chaplain, Father Dennis Edward O'Brien
It is the Soldier, not the reporter Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the Soldier, not the poet, Who has given us freedom of speech. It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the Soldier, not the lawyer, Who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the Soldier, who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag, And whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who allows the protestor to burn the flag.
May God continue to bless America.
Thanks to all who have served, either directly or indirectly, as members of the military on this special day.
Later All.

With the remnants of Ida working its' way through my neck of the woods and giving me a rare day off ( I work in the great outdoors), I thought I would stop in and say hello to you good folks, especially to those who are veterans. By the way, if any of you know when Norfolk Southern plans to run the OCS on the R line, please mention it on this forum. I have found an excellent place from which it can be observed/photographed from private property (yes, I have permission). Now that the growing season is over I, hopefully, will have time to enjoy such pasttimes.
Getting ready to move out wife's chair in the living room for the tree and track for the train ..... that always makes her sooo happy ... . Going to run the Alleghaney with the tmcc sound for the grandkids and the geezer " never grew up " kids as my wife calls us/them . This year for some reason I want to go all out for decorating . Have'nt for quite a few years . Black friday sale ads look like a bummer again .... have to buy a new xbox 360 ... oh well . Was hopeing the cameras would go on sale .... wife had me wait in case ... nope .... I should throw out all those old xmas lights and get new LED ones ... would save me hours of testing and replacing those darn tiny bulbs , God bless all and be careful out there !!

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
Today is Veteran's Day. A big salute to all of those who have served and sacrificed.
It is a sunny day. 40 degrees. Going up to 56 with sunshine.
Today is busy. I have a bunch of errands to run and the usual chores around the house. This afternoon, I will relax.
Dining was here and we had the usual for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Wednesday

2.25 inches of rain since last night. Raining hard and windy. Pond is coming up fast now. Still not running over spillway but you could see it inching that way. Bet in a couple of hours of this rain, it will be at full pool.
Vet breakfast was great. Lots if WWII vets still living at retirement center. Why? They eat grits each morning.
fifedog Mornin' boys. Mornin' VETS. Damp and 50 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Got a unique detail this afternoon at work. 8ntruck - There's no mistake. After eating all them GRITS, your home will need new pipes... Chief - West Marine exchanged the charger. I did buy a service warranty too.

Morning. Raining. Off to a Vet's Day flag raising and breakfast. Going to check pond on the way. Later.
Evening All,
Looking forward for the Tardis lights, may be hard to see, its foggy around here. So make sure all the scanners are set at high density.
Had yesterday and today off work. Wife said stay home, you need some "attitude adjustment time", so spent yesterday messing around in the train room. Didn't accomplish much, did hang some pictures and memorbillia around. Had some pictures that have been packed away for quite awhile got them up. Have a couple of Lionel magazine covers that are on metal signs, need to put them upat the top of the room. Going to be a hard reach, and then have to secure them in stucco. Been putting that off for quite awhile.
Today was spent running around to banks moving some CD accounts around. I'm sure it wasn't worth the effort when its all done. (Improved interest rate .0024%) So didn't get much done. Rumor has it will be off tomorrow also.
Cal-Stewart meet is coming up soon, not sure I will make it though. Went last year was there for about 45 minutes, or maybe an hour. Didn't buy anything. Registration cost $30. So may just save the fee.
Hope the weather doesn't get too wet on the east coast, keep the trains dry. Were expecting a weather change here also, suppose to be a drop in temperatures from high 70's to low 70's for the next couple of days.
Buckeye that is a great picture of Davis!
Hope everyone has a great day !! Take Care !!
Don
8nt - how is your wife? I hope the sciatica is under control and she is doing better!
Happy Birthdays (early) to Jim and Bob, in case I forget! I'm like that - forget a lot of dates. I have my computer at work set to remind me of the anniversary and wife's birthday. Lesson was learned! Congrats on that purchase, Jim - sounds like a really neat accessory!
Nice chat tonight with RT, SJ and Doug. I think Doug went into a tunnel - blip! Gone! Or he realized he was at his station!
Checked on the cement patch - it doesn't look as nice as the old cement, but it is smooth to touch and looks like it is pretty even. There is on spot that is sticking up a little where I tried to feather it into a gouge in the old cement surface from the plumber - guess the jackhammer jumped on him. I'll grind that down with a cold chisel and a 3 pound hammer next weekend. This will all be covered by vinyl or tile anyway, but no use dealing with that later when it is more difficult.
A family friend went to work today and was told she was fired. They told her brother-in-law, who works there, that it was because they wanted to hire the daughter of some other employee? What a crock.
Tardis is ready and screen shows beacons, so lets get this party going!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
8ntruck,
Raining steady and getting windy. They just upped the forecast for 4.5 inches of rain to 6.5 inches. HUMMM Rain from now through Friday. Good night.
Mostly cloudy, a few sprinkles and low 60's today.
97 Probe - PM replied to.
Chief - the sign on the loading dock says Lionelville Pipe Co., the caption says 'bags of grits'. Something fishy going on there! Are grits close enough to mash to use for making 'shine? If they are, that makes them truly versitile with other uses like pot hole filler, spackle, hydraulic cement, etc., etc.
Later all.
Hello all
Mainly stopping by to check up on Dennis and his family. Continued prayers.
Been a busy few days. Cleaning chimney turned in to a couple loose bricks on top. Cleaning and getting ready to replace them I ended up going down five courses to get to solid mortar. Oh well at least it should be good for 27 more years. I built it in 1981. It was easier then, I had a scaffold built. Now using ladders.
Son's been picking corn. Crop is fair to good. Not enough warmth and rain this summer.
He managed to get a Turkey Monday morning. They've been working on his crops.
Ran trains some with the grandkids over the weekend.
Well of to bed.
Prayers to all who may need them

Good Evening
Well granny is home safe. Her trip with the ladies went well and she did not buy anything.
I am waiting for Brutus and the thingy. Still have plenty of banilla....S.J.
Continous light rain. Heavy expected tonight and tomorrow. Got a 7:30 AM [probably wet] flag raising for Vets Day and breakfast at a retirement facility [lots of Vets. staying there]. Going to try to go to Golden Corral for free Vets meal. Will wear my dog tags as proof. Last year could not get close to the door as line had over 200 in it and every table inside was full. They said problem was all the Vets had a "reunion" and did not get up and leave so others could come in.
Another traveling box car being loaded with big bags of GRITS. Now boxed up and ready to ship out to "Crip" [I mean Brent].
Later
Glad to help Bob
Hey I got a deal today went to local auction house to check to see If items I took up to get rid of sold and while there out the back door (discard items that people left and didn't come back for or didn't sell and they didn't come back for) was a roll of that green indoor/outdoor carpet about 6 feet wide and it looks to be about 12 feet long so that should at least get me started on my table when I finally get it up. also was a complete fireplace set ( always nice to have seeing I have a fireplace. ) I like freebees if I can use them lol
Just about finished up for the week. Got to start packing up and get on the road. Wish me luck w/ the surplus wagon:)
RT - thanks for the reminder. Would have gone to the post office in the morning. Have to have a friend make the trip for me.
Doug M. - got your email. I get it in the mail as soon as I can.
Sounds like Jim's birthday is on the 25th and mine is the 15th. Hopefully will be playing w/ trains. Have to run the submarine car around in honor of Veteran's Day.

Good afternoon all, went for blood test this morning prior to my next doctor visit. At hospital, people at front desk, don't know what people at rear registration place are doing are that they even exist. Going in the door near the draw station is fast and easy but front desk did not know about it. Parking is a problem at the front desk also. I had to go through the whole 9 yards with registration as if I were being admitted to the hospital. I love it when a plan comes together.
A friend of mine from TCA Western Div. picked up my Lionel 116 station and T Reproductions large Terrace to be used at the Richard Nixon Library for their annual Christmas train display. Our Western Div. club is building the train display for them again this year. It will open on November 16th and run through January 10th.
Prayers for Dennis' family in their time of mourning
Meeting tonight of social group from church. They call themselves the Prime club. I call us the over the hill gang. One of our members is in the hospital with lung problems. I heard it was caused by aspestos. He used to be a contractor in the building trades. Sounds like an old problem but not good.
Dreaded Yankees won the World Series...........again. Back to the drawing board for our home team, L.A. Dodgers. Hope the ownership can fix their marrital problems before next season. We don't need that.
Did some cleaning on my train layout after removing the aforementioned buildings today. Man! it sure was dirty. Had to wash a lot of my model automobiles that had been collecting dust on the layout for a long time. After removing my number 116 station I was able to substitute with my new Walt Disney World station that I got on E Bay. It will stand in for the number 116 until after the Christmas show at the Nixon Library.
Have a good evening,
Ray

Just want to send prayers to Dennis and his family.
Jim if you paid via pay-pal I would think it would be there right at your birthday even if sent parcel post.
Remember tomorrow is government holiday ( veterans Day) so no mail, banks, etc etc
Chief,
Thanks. My birthday is 15 days away, and I am hopeful that the station will be here by then. However, since it is coming from CA, that is doubtful.
I want to be the first to say,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jim T and Bob [they have not given us the exact date].
Just picked up a used [but excellent] Savage .22 simi-auto. It is an older model with solid wood stock and shoots .22 shorts, longs and long rifle. I'll put rings and a scope on it. Take it to lake house. I might keep it at home and take the Ruger 10-22 to the lake. The 10-22's are suppose to be great rifles but mine has horrible triger pull and just is not my style.
Raining lightly.
Jim I've seen layouts with it mixed and it looked okay I've seen layouts with all O gauge buildings and it look good and then Ive seen layouts with just S accesories/buildings and it looked even better to me the s gauge buildings acually looked more scale to the PW trains than the O gauge buildings so you might think about that also. still have both scale trains running just s scale buildings
