Hot ride!  Cool!  Great shot on that deer too!

Thanks guys for all the birthday wishes - today I am 46 years old!  Very often, I think I was 16 just the other day - what the heck happened!

Dennis, so sorry to read your news, prayers for your family at this time of loss.  God bless you all.  Sad

No chat last night, sorry - had company over at the house until almost 10 o'clock.  Tonight, we're going out to eat and then home for cake.  But first, I get to go pick up my new glasses.  I'll take a pic later of the cake my wife got me, very funny!

TTFN!

PS - thanks for driving the Tardis for the guys last night SJ!  I found the keys on the counter this morning.  I'll try and make it tonight, but if not, RT can drive - I think he's past due for a run Laugh  Don - I'll use the wayback circuit and catch up the PARTY!  You'll never know the diff!  Laugh

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Aloha from a beautiful 70+ degree morning in Crystal Lake. Just a super-quick drop-in between errands. Sealing deck, choir practice for the youngest, flu shots, lunch with pastor, football HS playoff ... Whew!

Dennis, praying for you!

Happy Birthday to Brutus!!! Happy B-Day

Was a fairly quiet day w/ a lot of pointing and some system tests. Watched part of a video last night of a steam special in Ohio in 2002. A 4-8-4 and a 4-6-2. Some really good shots and some good stack talk. First observer will be on in half an hour.

Dennis - so sorry to hear the news. Prayers for you and the family.

Brutus - belated Happy Birthday!

Jim - if you are interested in a '93 I could ask my brother. We'd have to get it to you but it could be a fun trip in the summer.

Off to find breakfast before the fun begins.

Morning all.  LAZ, did you slip down south?  Pam just came in and said she heard a shot down at the lease.  She could not tell if it was the lease or the narrow band of woods next to it.  A few hunt that narrow band but not too often as I have hunters in my lease [Fred is the main one, preacher and his son somtimes].  Got to go start a 5K race for the Rolesville Fall Festival.  Visit awhile.  Then go meet Frankie at the Fairgrounds for a big train show [not our TCA and mainly HO].  Finally hit the low 30's here.  Warming tough with bright sun.  Have a good one.

I'm back.  Got grave news from NJ.  Mom doesn't look like she will survive this.  In the morning, FIL will be here to watch the kids.  Kim and I are driving up...about 17 hours.  Thanks for the prayers.

Evening all.  Finished leaves in my yard and then did Grady's yard.  He ran the leaf blower.  Got a new on from Lowes.  Pouland  for $99.  200 MPH.  Well, it is better thant he high dollar Homlite I have.  Will blast leaves out of bushes and etc.  Took Homelite to the lake as not much to do there.  Now the new bagging blades from JD are something.  DUST!!!!!  Sucks the dirt off of the ground as well as the leaves.  JD that Frankie has had bagging blades but not as "strong" as these.  You are running in a fog all the time.  Cleaned the air cleaner twice today.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRUTUS

This is for LAZ.  Fred Davis has been hunting my lease since the last of August.  He mainly bow hunts.  Shot big doe opening say.  Then shot one later.  Been watching spike and 4 pointer.  Been seeing does but not big as he wanted.  Took his blackpowder and saw nothing.  Took his pistol yesterday morning.  Big doe under tree.  Had her in the crosshairs, cocked the hammer and she ran away.  Heard the click.  This afternoon, small 5 pointer came in and stood right under him.  Shot him with bow [broadhead] through the back, he ran 20 yards and dropped.

That hole in his back is the entry hole.  Big hole for broadhead.

Later.

Brutus, a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY shout out to you sir!

Just taking a few moments to collect myself.  Mom's surgery is not going well.  Her pressure dropped off and they are having difficulty controlling the bleeding.  Wish I was up there, or that she had come here as I tried to get her surgeon to go for a less invasive approach.  Well, that is mute now, but we will lift our prayers and see what happens.  I'll get back soon, but looks like I will be heading to NJ.

God Bless,
Dennis

Not much going on today. I had another potential Christmas gift fall through. I saw an ad on that popular classifieds site for an 89 Probe LX, but it has been sold already.Banged Head So, I'll start calling the yards next week to see if I can find one that hasn't been wrecked. I shouldn't have passed on two of them a few years ago. The smoke unit parts for the 302 didn't get here today, so it is still in pieces. I need to replace the link coupler anyway.

Hard to believe we have better weather than down southwards. Almost 60 and sunny! Well, one big difference is the closed-ness of our proprietary command systems vs. those in the smaller scales -- DCC is an open standard that many manufacturers can build to - I was putting DCC into N scale locos more than a decade ago.
