Morning, guys –

Dark and gloomy today up to 85F today and VERY humid.  Gonna be miserable today.

Just can’t seem to wake up, even after that 20oz. coffee...Banged Head.

Looking at getting the Lionel Fireball Freight set, and an MTH T&P GP9, 2 boxcars and semi-scale caboose.  Seems that I can’t sell these items and if I could, would garner very little on the price.  Nice items, really like the read & white WM bay caboose from the set and the funky T&P caboose as well.

Will have to look for another train show nearby, I have an awful lot of inventory I have to liquidate, it just needs to go.

I’ll have to get to HD later today and check on the Sportster, I’m not sure if they heard that I gave to the OK to work on this thing.

Hey Fife – that camera thing is cheating – no sport, I think.  Nice pickup on the GTA, a Pacifica for $100?  Smooooth....some guys are just tooo stupid.

Morning all.  Actually got up early for me.  Been tied up on phone on town business all morning.  Now got interview for TV tomorrow at 11 AM and the bad school site VS my good school site.  Got to get to gym and then Town Hall.  Why I get paid the big bucks. Confused  Actully the interview is about the traffic the bad high school site will put through a neighborhoon [street not designed to handle the traffic and high school has most kids driving now so horrible traffic plus busses].  Neighborhoon not in Rolesville but their Mayor will not speak up for them.  I've been pushing my TV news contact to run a story on their problem.  Have a great day.  Off to the gym.

Fife,

Congrats on the arrest. I've had question that I keep forgetting to ask you. After the last time that I drove the PGT to work during the day, I noticed that the little door that covers the keyhole in the drivers side lock cylinder was bent and pushed into the cylinder. Do you think someone tried to steal it? I couldn't find any other damge, and I rarely use the key to unlock the door.  That really shook me up.

Dennis,

Sorry to hear about your loss.

Brent,

Be honest. Does the 'That nice. I'm stuck in traffic' comment really suprise you after the 'it is just a little rash' response you told us about when you were doing some work on the house.Wink

I got the 651 cleaned up last night, so I just have put it back together. I have to continue with my online courses today, but I did get one of them done last night. You have to love the class that will let you watch A christmas Story, Christine, and Step Brothers to do assignments. I was watching the part of Christine where Buddy Reperton and his gang sneak into Darnell's garage after Arnie parked Christine, and now I know what I am going to do with the Sunfire when I get the title.EvilShock

Good Afternoon,

May get up to 90 here in south Florida again today, and a chance of rain.

Trying to get ready for train show on saturday in Deerfield Beach, just south of Hillsboro Rd. Last show was at the Amtrac station, this time the show will be closer to the FEC tracks and not CSX. Got most of the stuff boxed up, will try to sell most of the Fastrac that I have.

Going to dentist again next week, will see about getting a crown put on one of my teeth, ouch!

I cut down to 4 days at work as it was getting too much on me to work 5 days with all the standing.

Have a small cat upstairs as the wife got upset that he kept fighting the neigbor's cat so we brought him inside and put him upstairs, fortunately the upstairs has a couple of doors to seperate the rooms or kitty  would hav e been on my layout.

Holey moley, my BP is high. Guess those health screenings with my flu shot are a good idea, and I'll check in with my doc next week. Rainy, cool and dark this afternoon.

Hey Rich, that traveling freight car must be on the CSX line [not NS or it would have been almost overnight] as it has not gotten to me yet. Whistling

Busy couple of weeks at work plus the doctors appointments and had a friend visiting for a week of so. Fairly cold on the mountain here, chance of snow on Thursday. Did get to run the 2026 w/ the new boxcar and the smoke fluid. Jim, I second the thumbs up on the Anormal fluid. My friend thought it smells like sandlewood.

Dennis - sorry to hear about your friend. Nice shot of the moon. I'll try and send a PM tonight.

Doug - take care of the BP!

Need to find something to eat and get on w/ the maintenance. The podiatrist wants to do an MRI of my foot. Like I needed another procedure...

Sunny and high 70's this week.  They say this is very unusual this time of year for this part of Spain.  I'm not complaining, though.

I just heard that the Tigers are tied with the Twins and are in a playoff game tonight!?  When I left, the Tigers had a 2 1/2 game lead.   What happened?  Tigers melt down or did the Twins get hot?

Since you guys are one of my links back home, I would appreciate news of the outcome of this game.  I have not run across any baseball news here.  Soccer, cricket, rugby yes.  Looks like Barcelona and Madrid are heading towards a playoff, if anybody is interested.  From what I gather, that is one of those classic rivalries.

I ran across a program about NASCAR last night.  They just talked about Villinauve, Montoya, and Franqueto though.  I guess you report on the things that are known by your audiance.

Prayers and condolances to those that need them.

Later all.

Twins got hot and the Tigers cooled off a bit.

Game is being played as I write this, it's like 4:30 in Minneapolis, Top 2, 0-0

Go YANKEES!!

It's Tuesday............I wonder where I am tonight...........I can't believe it I'm HOME!!!!   I even got to run the trains.

Chuck....Those Williams FM Beasts will pull anything.  I love that color scheme.

I wonder what the Chief has been up to lately.  I heard that he took some old bones into the woods where they were going to build a brand new school for the poor kiddies of Roseyville and spread them around so everyone would think it was a big Confederate Historical Cemetery.  Didn't fool me Chief!!!!

fife....Are you telling me that you actually arrest people? I thought you were too old for that.  Was if very hard to catch the guy in his scooter chair?

88....Buckeyes are on the way.

Michigan Guys....What is the Ultimate Fishing Show held in January in Detroit?

Jon.....I know you can't wait to see the white flakes flying again.  I polished the snow shovel the other day.

Laz.....Are we going to see you face next week or do you have more important things to do, like teach kiddies to saw off their fingers?

Last Sunday I was privilege to see something that I had never seen before in Ohio, a Bald Eagle.  They are back in force and flourishing.

Afternoon all, slow day here but weather is still nice and cool for walking.

Dennis, thanks for the tip about using Locktite blue on the screws.  I have heard about that stuff but must have forgotten it.  I might even have some a friend gave me.

Read about upcoming Titanic Memorial Cruise on Aol news this morning.  They are going to retrace the same route of the original ship with stop at site of sinking for memorial service, then on to Halifax Nova Scotia to burial site of some of the victims, and finally to the original destination of New York.  Cost is over 3K and is selling out.  Trip will be in April of 2012 on the 100th anniversary of the sinking.  They had a nice video with the piece which was the same one I have seen on TV with Robert Ballard finding the ship again.  Nice pictures of whole story but it seems to have been taken off the news page now.

Later, Ray

LaughLaugh School Board election today and massive over throw of control of the Board.  H6 site is a goner as our district candidate has publicly stated numerous times he is against the H6 site.  He got 57% of the vote.  Got TV interview tomorrow AM on the alturnative site I have been pushing. We have Bald Eagles too.  Have a lot of hawks also.  Love to go hunt on a long stretch of power line area where you can see them dive down and take a rabbit, or other small animals.

Had a nice afternoon.  Came home and the son and I worked on the layout for about an hour.  Didn't run any trains, but did build a mountain with two lines running through it.  Covered it with cast material that I had added brown concrete stain to.  Made the mountain look like solid Georgia red clay.  Will have more work to do on it before it is done, but we had a lot of fun.  This part of the layout work really captures both kids imagination.  Daughter had Tap Dance and Ballet tonight, so she laid off the getting dirty part.  Wife took photos of the progress.
have a great night.

Blue locktite worked great for me on my Best Friend loco.  One scew just kept trying to come out until I used it.  Doctor meetings today for Char - no new information, just waiting for insurance to okay the penultimate step.

TARDIS is ready and I'm stupified with Italian food, so somebody else BETTER drive, lol!  Mike you are on!

PS - Chuck, VERY COOL Engine!  LOVE IT!  Thumbs UpThumbs Up

PPS - Watch that BP Doug!

I've had the distinct pleasure to have seen two Bald Eagles in the wild. Once in Pittsburgh the other about two years ago along Rt 40 in Ellicott City, MD. Truely awe inspiring.

Speaking of awe inspiring... I received the following link in an email today from the Eagle Scout Association... thought I would pass it along. Says some pretty straight forward things about what an Eagle Scout represents and the kind of young man it takes to EARN it.

http://blogs.discovery.com/mike_rowe_answers/2008/11/mike-offers-a-p.html

Mike Rowe is an Eagle Scout from Towson, MD. IMHO, there are few accomplishments in life that are more impressive than earning your Eagle Scout, and I am in no way meaning that as a pat on my back. Had it not been for my father sitting me down at age 17 and having a real heart-to-heart I would have never found it within myself to bear down and work at it.

Thanks again guys for the kind words.
Early morning as we had lung conference.  Checked on progress from last night, all looks good.  While doing so this morning, my son comes into the train room and starts telling me about all he would like to do with the next part.  Gotta love his enthusiasm.

Chuck, nice FMs there.  I don't have any in JC livery, but perhaps someday.  I had a set of Williams that I got off the bay of E, but they arrived damaged and so I returned them.
Not much else happening.  Have violin classes tonight with the family.  It really has grown in this area at least.  Went into church early this past Sunday and one of the associate pastor's daughters was practicing some scores from Phantom of the Opera.  Was very beautiful.  Anyway, when we get back from practice, we will most likely continue with some layout work.

God Bless,
Dennis

Good AM

Up to 95F today and 90% humidity, spritzing right now and very cloudy...where the heck did my Autumn weather go? Banged Head

Brent – you should know that most wives don’t share our enthusiasm for our minor triumphs.  At least you got a response from her (Conga’s BTW...Bow )

Blueberry – NICE CNJ FM’s.  Those are classics, might have to indulge on a couple of them soon(er or later...Smile,Wink, & Grin )

Not much else, have to go look at some cars for purchase – inventory looking a little “lost”.  Thumbs Down

Had a nice talk with Mom & Dad, finally talked to my sister as well....been so busy it's insane....almost ready for time off at the end of the mont and a vacation reload in November (my work anniversary).  Watched a show on the Military Channel about U Boats off the coast of Hatteras, NC.   Dad dives there all the time.  Real interesting stuff.  That's it for now - Chief - LNE is on the way to you now...

Good morning all,

It is supposed to be sunny today in SE Indiana, but it was still cloudy yet.  I went to soccer practice for the girls last night, but mostly just observed them try out a new strategy.  I have to give the coaches "props" for trying something new as it certainly cannot do any harm.  My dad and his girlfriend came over for a visit and stayed almost two hours.  Consequently no YMCA workout occurred last night.  I am surprised they have sent out a search party!!!  It was a nice, easy drive in the Tardis last night except for the Tigers' fans crying in their beer.  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it to "Points East".  I see where "Points East" showed a picture of the motive power used to pull the dining car.  Very impressive.  TBIL, and please pick me up after "Glee".  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Clearing and 66 already here in the Mid-Atlantic region. 2 days til the BIG SHOW.  One day til anniversary.

Buckeye - "Scooter" is sitting in local DOC with 35K bail...

97Probe - Yep.  Sounds like someone pried a little.  Make sure you leave no signs of GPS devices (HOT item), including suction cups...even the suction cup marks.

Banks - That looks crazy.  Keep doin' that and you'll wind up a "legend" on You-Tube...and probably not for all the right reasons...

Chief - VICTORY!

Bleuberry - Nice train.

anjdevil - We've had some wonderful sleeping weather this past week...advantage NORTH.

88 - Hey, make sure you show me your Eagle award next time I'm over.  I'll oooh and ahhhh, and the Q will want you even more...seriously. Wink
