Good morning all,

It is cloudy and mild in SE Indiana.  Chief, I am sorry to hear of your loss.  As so many have already indicated, there have been and are a lot of thoughts and prayers headed your way.  The strength of this forum is never so powerful as when one of us is suffering.  We share in the joys and we share in the sorrows and thru it all we shall persevere.

At a time like this, perhaps it may not be the best time to make this announcement, but also perhaps a little good news could be used (or be amused) by all.  As most of you know, I have a more than a "passing" interest (bad pun) in soccer.  Also, you have heard many references to my soccer drills.  One purpose of said drills is to see how many times I can touch the ball with a legal part of the body before it hits the ground.  For over a year (and almost every night) I have been trying to reach 10 "touches".  Most mediocre 10 year olds can do this, but for a fat, uncoordinated middle aged man, it can be a bit unreachable.  Last night I succeeded (actually 11 times)!  In the grand scope of things, this means diddly squat.  To put it in perspective, my Norwegian soccer friend has done it 70 times, but to an old man, it means the world.

I also mulched the leaves in the yard and did some Second Life.  I had a little extra on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East".  TBIL, and I can drive after "Numb3rs" tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Morning all.  Been real busy, not with anything I have been wanting to do, but with all the activities with the kids.  Just part of parenting....its all good.  Not on call, but have a late case.  Should be an easy one.  I have some work I really want to get to on the layout.  Finished the latest CTTThumbs Up  Good Job Bob and gang.  Really enjoy the Peterson layout.  Gives me some more ideas on detailing my own pike.  Of course, I am no where near the expertise of him.

Hope it is a great weekend for everyone.

God Bless,
Dennis

 Hello all.

Chief condolences to you and your family.

Brutus, it's sad to say but the more noise you make the sooner you'll get the attention you need. Been there done that. I'm afraid of whats going on in DC right now.

Spanky, take care of your knee.

Weekend's almost here.

Didn't get much done this week, fighting a cold.

Had some more rain this week. Need to get the wife's flowers dug out and in the basement but it's too muddy now. More rain predicted tonight and tomorrow. Sportscaster said this will be 5th Friday in a row of rainy games.

Hope to get some train time in this weekend.

Looking forward to the Monroeville Greenburg Show in two weeks

Chief....My condolences to your family.

Laz....TGIF.    I would assume that living in a mountainous rural area of Pennsylvania during Halloween is just second to Ground Hog's Day or Doe Day.

To the lake.

BUCKEYE,  second would be SADIE HAWKINS DAY.  That's when us GENTs get dolled up and wait for the GALs to ask us out.  I'm still waitin.

Prayers and condolances, Chief.  Cancer is one of those things in life that just does not seem to be fair - particullarly when it takes somebody who is young. Lost my oldest sister to it about 7 years ago.

Take care of your knee Spanky.  I did my ankle in playing volleyball years ago.  Managed to land on the side of my foot, then kind of roll onto the top of it.  Was on crutches for a couple of weeks after that one.

Rained most of the day here.  Started in the high 50's with a lightening show on the way into work and has been getting warmer as the day progressed.  Supposed to stop raining on Saturday.  The rain has knocked about 80% of the leaves out of the trees.  Will have to start raking when it dries out - can hardly wait.  Actually, I don't mind too much.  It gets me outside, provides some exercise.....

Yankees are up at the moment.  Score is three to one. Smile

Later all.

Chief - so sorry for your loss.  Prayers for your family and ex too.

DJ - hope your knee heals quickly, I twisted my knee about a year ago and it is finally better.

RT - hope your arm heals up or they find out what is wrong with it.

Special prayers for all of our hurts and our loved ones here on the CTT site.

Big storms rolled through, rained all day here in St. Louis.  Looks like the weekend will be clear, but chilly.  Just playing some videogames tonight while the family watches dvds.  Gonna make some chili this weekend - yum!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good Evening

Chief, special thoughts to you and Debbie's family tonite.

Well It was a so so day for me. weather was nice for 62. I was doing some layout maintenance in a small room that the large loops run through and thought I heard water drips. Yea it was, never noticed it with trains running. First floor laundry shut off valve, the little cap used for draining the pipe was leaking, I tightened it and so far so good. Have no idea how long that has been going on. I hope it stays tight.

Banilla is ready and got some cheap cookies for the Tardis ride....S.J.

Evenin All.

Chief, condolences from our home to yours.

Halloween layout is almost finished, tomorrow will feel like a vacation day at the museum. Sure seems like an awful lot of work for just one night, oh well the kids like it.

Gotta go figure out what's for supper, getting kinda tired of cereal this week.

Had a good chat with the Chiefster this afternoon as he was headed toward the lake, NORTH Thumbs Up  Tough situation with ex step daughter, never easy to say good bye with anyone you care about that is younger.  Prayers sent Frank.

Social Security -- you young bucks, keep paying/working, we geezers appreciate it, we also paid our dues.  I clearly remember some 40+ years ago that I also said we would never collect our SS -- guess what, we are receiving those benefits on a monthly basis.  I believe you will receive your benefits.

And, O gauge trains will still be going great guns, debates about track/operating systems/manufacturers/grits/etc. will still be dominating forums ........ as we know them today.  It's never easy to optimistic but I always have been -- the Hawkeye's  are in the running for the Rose Bowl but ........ there's November 14 Cool

Chief, sorry to hear about Debbie.  Knew it wouldn't be long, but still hard I am sure.  Glad you were able to get there one last time.

Regarding Cost of Living, etc., We all got a letter stating that there will be no raises/cost of living increase/or bonus this year.  Also, buy-back of vacation hours not used is going away.  Our benefit package is going up too.  No, I doubt I will be getting any of the Social Security that I have paid into.  I am already maxed out on contributions.  Also noticed that the SSA sent a letter as they do every year, but this one had a disclaimer about availability of benefits in future years.  Just glad I have invested wisely.  All in all, with the cuts, I expect I will be making about 20K less this year.  On the other hand, They have eliminated over 100 positions in the system and more will likely follow.  Just glad I have a good income.

Got my ChooChoo delivery last night.  Got 3 cars, two K-Line scale and one MTH Premier boxcars.  SWMBO was not even upset about it...just said that she has been waiting on a package..Uh oh!

God Bless,
Dennis

Chief, so sorry to hear about Debbie. It is always hard to know what to say at times like this. To say "sorry for your loss" just doesn't do it. Please know we are thinking of you.

Spank,

I just read about what happened to your knee. Ouch. Hope it gets better soon.

I just completed an assignment for one of my online classes, and the goal of the assignment was to pick your favorite commercial and talk about why you like it. Here is mine, but I don't think you guys will need an explanation.Big Smile

Brent,

At least you didn't do what I have done a couple times. I have a key to the front door on the key fobs for both vehicles, and twice I have stood at the front door pressing the unlock button on the fobs wondering why the door won't unlock.Banged Head Oops Did you make any purchases at the LHS?

I spent last night planing the conversion from the stock tape deck to the optional CD player for the Probe, and I think it'll work. The main plug on both units is the typical gray Ford plug, but the CD player has a different connector on the speaker harness than the tape deck does. So, I'll go to Best Buy tomorrow to buy a harness so that I don't have to destroy the speaker harness in the car. I connected the main plug to the CD player , and it powered up without letting the smoke out, so I've got my fingers crossed that I'll be able to get the speaker harness issue resolved.

LOL! Now that is good!

Purchases? Hmmmm... hint... take a look a the SPF pictures, specificly those of Don's Hollywood car.

Aloha all. I wonder if I have enough time to gather up some leaves before the rains begin again. There's a lot of them... Good to see ya, Jack - I love Halloween - I love the kids visiting. I love taking the youngest around in his costume. I like the whole fall thing. Nice chat with Brutus and Sir J last eve, whilst hiding from dinner guests (who were all my bride's friends - I'm sure they wanted to chat without me Wink)
