Good morning,
Rt, Take care of yourself. That is one scary looking puppy.
Fife, Condolences on the loss of your friend. Prayers for the wounded. We live in a dangerous world.
SirJames, You are having my favorite meal, prefer a good meat loaf to steak.
Laz, Bring the tractor on down, got lots of leaves for you. Will have to get out Monday and get started on them I guess. It is supposed to be sunny, also need to winterize the pond as it is to go down to 25 on next Friday night.
Aloha all. Sunny and windy Halloween. Glad you're OK, RT. Prayers for those officers, Fife. Have a busy day - soccer was cancelled - too wet (and that's the end of the season too) - October ended up with 21 days of rain, but the youngest has a Christmas choir practice, then heading into the city to celebrate my niece's birthdays, then back for trick-or-treating. . .

Good morning.
Rain and very windy all nite. From 74 yesterday to 49 high for today. Those neighbors who raked yesterday have a big suprise this morning when they look outside. Rain is gone but not the wind. Granny is going to bake cookies and fix a meatloaf. Happy Halloween.BOOoo

BOO y'all! Damp and 57 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Trick-or-Treatin' will be "iffy" tonight. On top of that, youngest princess coughing up a storm. Sure would have welcomed a little sunshine this weekend---> Had a few "troubled" folks in my neck of the woods yesterday. Both suspects 10-7. One officer (same amount of time as me) wounded. Another officer killed on the way to work on his motorcycle, earlier this week (about 300 yards from my front door).
rt - Thanks for the reminder --- must pick up milkbones. Take care of yourself brother.
WOW RT, that is quite a course of events. Glad you are doing well. Well, son had me up way too early for a day off. Oh well. Plan is to have breakfast, then we get to work on the layout! Watched a O Gauge Railroading episode from RFD. The first segment was on a pike called the West Tennessee Central. The detailing was fantastic. Going to try to incorporate a few of the ideas in my own pike.Hope everyone's day is great.

HI GYZ,
After school today took dog for 1.5 mile walk then started to suck up leaves with tractor, did mine, and two neighbor ladies. Got done had fire with wife and dog, then ran trains for 2.5 hrs, NO PILE UPs!!!
Brutus - I'll 'share' mine through pictures on SPF.
No gateman, don't know what the deal is on that?
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
88 - hang in there on the house, it takes a while to do these things. Glad Suzie Q was okay too.
Glad you are feeling better RT.
Spent $750 on glasses for my wife, daughter and myself tonight - they both got 2 pairs each, but mine was on insurance and only got one pair. Saved me $200, so went with it, lol.
Keep falling asleep, so somebody else better drive while I check the recliner! Here we go again!
Greetings from cloudy, windy Sedalia. The thermometer read 62 at lunchtime.
Stopped by the local hobby shop on the way home from work, just in case. Sure enough, the halloween gateman had arrived today. He is now guarding the south west corner of the Ping Pong Plains division of the KATY Central. He seems to be taking delight in scaring the bejeebies out of the passengers on the Texas Special when it rolls by!
I'm using a section of insulated track to activate the gateman. This turns out to be a good indicator for cleanliness of the wheels - the dirty ones spark.
Brutus - you get your gateman yet?
Hang in there RT. Hpoefully you will get it figured out soon.
Found a gigantic pumpkin and carved it up with the little guy. Our high school won its first playoff game. Watching '17 Again' with the bride. A good lite flick.
Gotta watch those meds RT. When my doctor put me on the cholesterol(sp?) reducing pills I always felt the same way. Finally just said the heck with them and made some major dietary and exercise changes, took 100+ points off in just a matter of months.
Was an absolutely dead day at the museum, came home with almost all the candy, Gummi Bugs, I took to give away. I'll save them for sunday when we are having a housefull of munchkins.
Eyes are gettin' kinda cloudy & droopy, think it's time log-off.
Nitey-nite.

Good Evening
Hang in there RT
74 degrees today, still 72 at 9:25. BUT cold front is headed this way with strong winds and hard rain forecast soon. 49 for the high tomorrow. Granny enjoyed her afternoon at school, our next door neighbor was there as well so they teamed up their help efforts. I stayed home and goofed off. Drain plug on shut off valve still dry, thankful for all the favors, big and small.
I am still full from our friday out meal but Breyers banilla is ready for the thingy, lets go..S.J.
Interesting day here. well as I might of or might not of stated 2 days ago I was given some pain pills to take just at bed time for my arm other wise been using ben gay well today was feeling out of it even more so. well after lunch I sat down for a couple as felt real weak but felt better after a few minutes well got up to 2nd floor with my food cart deliever all except one went for it and felt real weak backed up the 6 - 9 inches to the wall and slithered down to the floor calling a nurse I know who was in sight the whole way so I ended up in er about 5 minutes later for the next 3 hours.
Feeling well now but really not sure what went down neither is the doc but I feel it was the new med
Not much else going on prayers for all talk later
Afternoon all,
Wrapping up a few loose ends then heading home. Bride is on her way to Zanesville and grandkids are staying overnight with the other grandparents. Going to take the trains off the table, remove the track and legs to remove the layout from the bedroom. May go for a trip or two before putting everything away.
Spank – take care of the knee. Ibuprofen and elevation!

CPL signals are still giving me a fit. I've spent several nights this week trying to figure out the correct schematic. Really holding up my progress. (Especially with Doug's car)
anjdevil - Thanks for the link.
RockIsland - It is indeed good to see you back here.
88 - That was good to read about Q and the shower. Shows her head is in the right place. Hurry up and finish that room...it will be getting cold soon, and after buying that WM Challenger...
Chief,
Sorry to hear about Debbie. I've lost several family members/ family friends to cancer, and I know how that hurts.
Brent,
Do you have any idea how much a 4x8 sheet of plexiglass would cost? I checked Lowes site, and they have it listed at about $180 for the cheapest 4x8 sheet. Are there any alternatives? I need to put some along the sides of my layout, and that price seems high to me.
Does anybody here have a 93-00 Ford or Mercury with the factory single DIN CD player?
DJ,I have an older version of the SanDisk - ImageMate All-in-One USB 2.0 Reader that is available from BestBuy. I have had zero problems with it since I bought it over 3 years ago. It is a bit pricey at $39.99 but for something that hasn't given me problems it was worth it. Mine has a detachable base so I can take it with me and it is small enough that I can put it in a shirt pocket.---As many of you know I've been building a sunroom and screened porch on the back of my house. Well last night I started installing the vynil fascia and I am very pleased. I was going to use aluminum but the guy at HomeDepot explained that the vynil is much easier to install. I have 2/3 of the long wall done and have a piece temporarily on the exposed gable wall. Need to trim off about 2 inches from the gable end piece. Then need to cut the piece to finish the long wall and use the rest to finish the gable. Also have the long wall and gable wall exterior up around the windows, now need to do below and above the windows... then the exterior should be done (except gutters). Hope to have that all done this weekend and hopefully the wall under the screened porch. Then I get to rehang the siding on the house under the screened porch and beside the gable wall. Then it is on to the inside... my estimate of having this done last weekend got shot due to other commitments and my not understanding how long it takes to do stuff. Still have probably 6 weekends till I get to the floor... looks like Christmas is out too.
Chief, Heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. May her soul rest in peace.

DJ.......you lucked out with your knee. What were you thinking, playing such a violent sport like volleyball? Lay low and let time heal.
RT......I have been mia, so I was not aware you hurt your arm. Hope your injury does not prevent you from keeping up with your wife's landscaping "honey do" list.
Buckeye......Laz does not live in a rural area. He simply lives in one that is not "thickly settled." When I moved from Chicago to the Boston area, I took a road trip up to Maine to hook up with a close friend, also from Chicago, who was getting married. We grabbed a couple of beers and were hiking down a road in the middle of no where and stopped to read a sign. It said "Thickly Settled." We looked at each other, glanced around at our surroundings which included a house every 200 yards, and concluded the place must have been thickly settled with wildlife because from our perspective the sign could not possibly be referring to humans. City boys!
DougM......no pumpkins? We had a shortage this year in many places in the Northeast because there was only about 3 days of sun in June, devastating the pumpkin crops in Vermont, NH, Maine, and Ma. Kept the truckers busy bringing them in from elsewhere. We bought ours from a local church that sells pumpkins to raise money. They get theirs from an Indian reservation in New Mexico! Sounds like the logistics for growing and selling pumpkins could use some work.
Happy Halloween, everyone.
Jack
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Chief.....please accept my heartfelt condolences at your loss of Debbie. One other forum member was so right. It hurts greater when we are preceded by the children. I hope you and your family can take some small measure of solace in that Debbie is in a better place.
Good Morning
Rainy but going to 70, yea maybe.
Way to go Mike C, I understand. Oh boy do I.
Granny's going to the grade school at noon to help with the Halloween fun, two gr.sons there. I should go and learn to spell. I never did much writing over the years till I got into the forums, I have forgotten a lot about spelling. Me, I will play with my toy trains. BOOO
