Good Afternoon everyone. Was a nice morning as I only had one early case and done. Called wife at 10am and offered to bring her lunch. Got home and been busy with trying to load some music onto the iTouch. Problem with a new iTunes and the Quicktime version we have. They won't play nice with each other and so now we have to wait on customer service tech to email. No plans for t
onight or tomorrow, so I figure we will get some layout time in. Can't run trains right now as tracks are covered with blue tape till the mountains/tunnels are completed.
Rich, don't get it too cold....I don't live that far away and we don't want to get the jackets out anytime soon.'

Good morning
We have rain and 50s.
Oatmeal and wheat toast for breakfast. It was so gloomy this morning I slept till 7:45. Thats about an hour longer than usual. Thats not an all nite sleep though, us old people have to have potty runs. Well most of us anyway. TTOS show on sunday, should be well attended as it's the first one for the fall season. But I expect the same old stuff with the same old prices.
Friday it is, enjoy....S.J.

Morning & TGIF (FINALLY!)
Whilest youse guys in the Heartland are seeing light flurries, we’re dealing with near record heat up to 90 today and high humidity – feels like July not October. Really missing the colder weather.
I’m thinking I need a mental health weekend, also will have to start taking vacation days, I reload soon and still have 7 days to burn before I have to give them back to the company and THAT ain’t gonna happen!!
Harley is done, wonder how much this is gonna cost?
Morning all. Guess there are more of us EAGLES around than I thought [snicker]. Does that mean I am related to BUCKEYE? Oh no, have to call him cuz. Off to meetings. Also trying to talk to "high sheriff" to get stupid neighbor out of jail. Driving with out license and etc. The neighbor that is disabled and does not have $$$$. Always something. Good to see all these folks drinking coffee [even if most are Yankees ] Have a good one and God bless.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is raining. Been raining all night. Gonna rain all day. Gonna rain all night. 60 degrees. YUK.
Today is a lazy day. I will take it easy. Run trains later. Take a nap. Not much else new here.
Dining car was here for the usual breakfast.
Y'all have a great Friday.

Good morning all,
It is rainy in SE Indiana. Sectional game postponed until Saturday. Not too sure, but if local team wants to win sectional, it will have to play three games in one day!!! Sure plays havoc with my reffing schedule. Did get some good news about Sarah Fisher as she will run nine races next year (including some road courses) and have a teammate for four of them. I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning before sending it to "Points East". Did go to the YMCA last night and did weights and soccer drills. TBIL, and I will turn up the heat a little so nobody is cold. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana

Big working weekend for me but I am looking forward to it, just hoping the wind/snow/rain stay away since it's all outside .......

Man, all this talk about Eagle Scouts. I am an Eagle Scout. Grew up in a real small town so other than Scouting and sports there was nothing else todo. One of my biggest desires as a parent was the day that my son would get his Eagle and I could pin my award on him. He threw in the towek as a Life Scout and only had 2 or 3 merit badges left to do, along with his service project. Scouting just wasn't cool to him.....Urgggg! But then completeing wasn't very cool to him either! Oh well....his life I guess! Least that is what I am constantly being told.
I would hope that all you Eagle Scouts have pre-ordered your BSA 100 year anniversary train from Lionel!
Well seeing as it is 12:30 AM on Friday morning here in Oregon, I guess I am OK with wishing everybody a Great FRIDAY!!!!!!
CBQ, A resonably good group around here. (The more you post here, the more you benefit.) Only caution is "Watch for the flying grits." BTW, the "Tardis" is a fun trip, lots of interesting side trips, and includes refreshments.
Jim, I can't believe all you guys are having to go through, still thinking and praying for you and your wife, hopefully will have good news SOON !
Got some feedback from the fellas down at the club. Seems they are still having the same issues, too many chiefs not enough indians. Hope they get it worked out, some good people there. But it only takes one or two too make things difficult.
Finally got Kurt's car off to Iowa, only two cars left. So far we havn't lost any, and only a few broken. Not to bad.
Got a copy of the Lionel catalog, can't say I'm overly impressed, but would be interesting too seem some demos. I wonder why Lionel doesn't do email videos like MTH does.
Weather sure has cooled down here! It gets to be cool enough to wear jackets in the evening. Found out today, have some Cheeseheads coming out for a few days at the end of the month.
Did have an online Chat with Charter tonight, regarding the volume levels of programming versus "local" commercials, Huge, Huge difference. I doubt that anything resolved, just some venting.
Well hope everyone has a great day, and of course TGIF.
Don
Reclinerized, woke up, reclinerized, woke up and so on until now. Could not seem to get out of recliner. Talked to the guy out in Ioway and was going to call Shake and Bake but slept through his "time zone".
Laz, unique dummy. You set it up like a powered Legacy unit. Comes with its own chip. Wish it had sound. Got it as a trailing unit. Has directional lighting, smoke, cab light comes on when stopped and out when moving, plus it has osculating ditch lights. I think if you run as the lead unit, you have no horn so the ditch light thing is???? You set it up as lashup just like a powered unit. Smoke is controled by the remote. Nice unit though.
Buckeye Riveter Chief.....We should take a vote. Which is better, grits or Chocolate Buckeyes?
Chief.....We should take a vote. Which is better, grits or Chocolate Buckeyes?
Not a fair question.
Good night.
tried posting a picture oh well try again later.
hello I'm cbq from not so hot sunny southwest desert a balmy 73 at this time with highs in the mid 80's sure beats the 104-118 days.
Kurt - looks like a great pic to me right now :)
Patrick - Great one!
Laz - looks like a great trip man!
Got a flu shot today, but guess I still need the other one when it comes out. It was free, so I'm not complaining.
We found out that the paperwork, once again, has not osmosed from the doctor's office to the insurance caseworker yet. We were told it was faxed in on 10/2, but apparently there is a breakdown in communications. Many heated phone calls have been made now - my wife was really wound up and I guess I was too, but I let her do the calling, sometimes I'm not as diplomatic as I should be.
Sorry I am late guys - big storm with lightening and tried running on battery, but making some backup disks and that drive sucked my battery down fast. Severe storms and tornado warnings have passed over, so we are all in the clear - gotta get some banilla!
Sounds like it might be raining green cheese tomorrow!
Tardis is ready, so let's get going. Need to fire up the chimenia and make some cocoa tonight!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
RT,
That is a very good point, but unfortunately that type of thinking usually disappears in the heat of the moment. I've got a very short fuse, and that is not exactly a great quality.

Banilla all round, I'm buyin. Tardis on the way.

Here we go Buckeye -- I'm judging on the field all day Saturday, the Hawkeye's & Meechigan are playing at 7:00 PM and the forecast is for a light rain & snow, YES! What a day it's going to be Oh, one more thing ... hard freeze tomorrow night
Pat..... I went this summer back to see my old Scoutmaster. He is 86. I believe he had a great weekend because two of his Eagles visited him on the same weekend. Neither of us knew the other was in town. If you ever get the chance read, Legacy of Honor. It is very intersting.

Dennis if nothin else they need to point out she sets a good example for students to follow ( teacher breaks rule so can we)
Jim ( Green probe) you may do that one to many times and when you can't work on your trains because of the accident all the money you may or may not win will not replace not being able to do what you like as its easy to get reckless driving on you for that as well as the tail gater .
Oh well another day almost done 2 more off one and then a short 8 and off 8 days decieded not to work sunday so will only be 5 in a row not 7 .

Afternoon all!
Doug: Scooter? Cool! Is this something new? Did you go thru Ride Chicago?
Pat: I love the 'I (heart) Tardis'!
SJ: That sounds like a geat combination!
Kurt
edit: OK, I was trying to get the Tardis button into my signature, and I deleted my avatar photo, and can't find another photo to replace it...please bear with me...Jim, How did you get the photo into your avatar?
Dennis,
When I get someone on my bumper, I just put the brake pedal on the floor. They learn. It seems that some owners of certain brands have that " I am better than you" mentality, and they are the ones that ride your bumper. It really gets me mad.
I might actually get to work on the layout tomorrow. I've have been buried under assignments this week, but I am caught up now. Ordered the link couplers and tool this morning, so hopefully I can get the 650s fixed next week.
Does anybody know when Sturgeon Phish will be back?
SPManNice thing though was I was able to tell him what a great neighbor he has been for the past 30 some years and how much I will miss him when he is gone. We don't always get a chance to say good bye to friends. I'm grateful for that.
That is so true -- case in point -- I've wanted to have our only neighbor down to see the trains but just never got around to it ... he was the one who was killed in a hit and run two weeks ago, age 48. We need to tell each other how much we appreciate them.
Laz, that was a beautiful fish. Makes me long for the good old days when I could catch fish.
Pat, re Titanic memorial cruise, Maybe this time they will give binoculars to the lookouts.
Chief, re chicken and bar-b-que feed, Now I know why all the Southern ministers I knew were on the heavy side. Too many chicken dinners. P.S. I'm jealous over the bar-b-que though.
Chief, re New Hampshire, my wife is from there. Beautiful place in the Fall.
Re traffic tickets, we are driving on the straight and narrow in my town. Town needs $ so mistakes are costly.
Only adventure yesterday was getting my dishwasher fixed. Had a leak from drain hose that was flooding under my kitchen counter. Got repair man who fixed it. I'm too stiff to crawl around under those things. I was afraid it might be something worse like a busted pipe.
Ran trains a little bit. All is OK in DCS because of high voltage used but in conventional only, I really become aware of how many voltage drops I have. I guess over time some of the track pins have become corroded or something. Need more feeders when the spirit moves me.
Had a nice talk with my 86 year old next door neighbor. He has terminal cancer and may only last until January he thinks. He has accepted his fate and talks openly about it. Hope I am that brave when my time comes. Nice thing though was I was able to tell him what a great neighbor he has been for the past 30 some years and how much I will miss him when he is gone. We don't always get a chance to say good bye to friends. I'm grateful for that.
Chief, does cream of rice qualify as a substitute for grits? They both look and taste about the same but grits might be a little more course. Doctor put me on cream of rice years ago one time when I had stomach trouble but I seldom eat it now although it is good just like grits.
Have a good day all,
Ray
